Hufflepuff Pride Party!
Serena started breathing heavily as more people walked in, making her extremely nervous. Ever since she was a kid she wasn't able to take large crowds well, especially in a school setting. She had talked to some doctors about it, but it was something that she was going to have to grow out of is all they would tell her parents, and after this long she had thought she did grow out of it, but it didn't seem that way. She wanted to run out of the room and head for the dorms to hide away, but she refused to do that again.
"No! We're not going to make that mistake twice! We just need to get our heart rate under control and then we'll be fine," she thought to herself before she slowly made her way into a corner of the room, not too far from the door. She leaned against the wall and closed her eyes, slowly letting her mind drift to a happier place, one that she had created after what happened with Nick all those years ago. She imagine a happy life back at home, not at the age she was, not in her parents house, but older, more mature and in a house of her own. She imagined being married to Nick, having kids, and living in a house on the country side. Grass and forest as far as the eye could see. Away from the loud cities and big crowds. Some where that she could be herself, away from everyone else, a place that made her happy.
(OOC: If anyone wants to interact with Serena they'll probably have to approach her and say her name pretty loudly due to all the noise, or shake her, that always takes her out of her mind mode.)

Hufflepuff Pride Party!

Caradoc Browne was no stranger to parties, especially back in the good old days when he was still a student. Word had gotten out to him and apparently the entire Hufflepuff house that a party was to happen some day soon. Not believing his presence would be worth much amongst all the little badgers making a mess of the ballroom, Caradoc had not intended to spend much time at the party. However, a quick hello should not hurt, just a small peek to see how things were moving along. He knew some of his prefects might attend, so naturally he felt at least a few responsible individuals would be present.
As he had understood it, the party was mainly intended to great any new badgers joining this year. In his mind there were already several scenarios where Healy was holding arm wrestling matches with someone like poor Mr. Morris. There were quite a few fragile characters amongst his students he recalled. Several of them he had met in his office. Then there were the strong and hard working folks and the somewhat... odd types. Someone like his fifth prefect cam e to mind. A thought that still struck a smile across his face. How marvelous some children managed to be.
The strumming of his guitar echoed through the halls as he made his way towards the party. Several students, maybe a few of his colleagues, eyed him curiously as he passed them down the corridors. Singing was something natural that was simply inevitable to the Head of House. While some of the students might not have been fan of his performance, he was almost certain he could see a handful of helmet bop along to the rhythm of the song.
"Dance, then, wherever you may be,
I am the Lord of the Dance, said he,
And I'll lead you all, wherever you may be,
And I'll lead you all in the Dance, said he"
He winked at one of the armorstands and took halt in front of the ballroom doors. "Now then, into the chaos." He whispered to himself as he heard the loud murmurs of conversation inside. An indicator that at least some where already enjoying the event. With a gentle push he swung open the door and made his entry. His eyes quickly taking in the yellow scenery and badgers galore. He glanced about and smiled widely. "Good day to you badgers!" He cried out as he set his guitar aside by a nearby table. Perhaps that would be something for later.
What a lovely sight it was for the man though. As if he had been cast backwards in time to when his friends and himself were creating small parties all over. Whether it be in their common room or out in Hogsmeade. Deep down he missed it. There had been only a handful of individuals from his time at Hogwarts that he still knew. Surprisingly he knew quite a few current professors from back then though.
He snapped himself back to reality, a few seconds longer and he would have left his students wondering yet again what shenanigans he might be up to. Not that he was ever up to anything, hmmm... He nodded pleasantly to a few smiling faces and gave his boy Reid a firm pat on the shoulder. "I expect you to hold the fort tonight Captain Kovacs. I'm sure I can trust you to keep most things here in check." His eyes scanned the room again, this time focusing on who was already here. He recognised Lynch and Morgan, Nixis, Miller, Kurokwa and two of the Serena's, Holmgren and Hunter, and-... His eyes took a halt on one student and then another.
"Apologies Kovacs" he turned to the sparkling young man he recognised as Mr. Marchonné and the other student who he believed to be Prescott. Both lions as he recalled. "Excuse me! Marchonné and Prescott, I am correct? This is to be a party for Badgers only I am afraid. From what I heard this years Lions have no problem with making their own parties where they go. I'm politely asking you to exit the room for today. I'm sure you will see your Huffle friends again tomorrow." he smiled gently as he waited for the two gryffindors to leave the room so festivities could continue without any further pauses. The friendly smile on his face never wavering.

Hufflepuff Pride Party!
Interacting with @Duna Nixis, @Caradoc Browne, & @Quinn Prescott
ReducioApologies for any misconduct! I thought it would be something that Piérre would do, whether or not he got in trouble! I’ll be mindful to owl the owner of the thread in the future if it is at all possible for me to join!
Piérre nodded at Quinn, not saying a word, but silently agreeing to the terms of this little game. It would be fun to see how long they could go undercover in Hufflepuff territory, and besides, it was a party, surely they wouldn’t mind a few people with nothing to do on their day off the ability to enjoy such merry people in a ballroom.
However, as it turned out, their game would be cut short as Piérre spotted out do the corner of his eye the head of Hufflepuff drawing close. Never allowing his composure to fade, Piérre casually moved to the side, willing himself to be lost in the crowd, but just as he was about to join the masses, he was suddenly cut off by another individual rushing over to talk to one of their friends on that side of the room
’Damn it... So much for hiding...’
"Excuse me! Marchonné and Prescott, I am correct?
Piérre looked about the room idly, pretending like he couldn’t hear the head of Hufflepuff’s house. With measured surprise, Piérre suddenly looked startled and stared at the Head, pointing to himself as if to confirm that he was being spoken to.
”Me, sir?” He asked innocently, shrugging as he smiled brightly and put his hands back in his pockets. ”Is there something I can do? This is an awesome party sir. Perhaps I could grab some refreshments?” Piérre resorted to his shockingly quick natured tongue. He was about to go off and slip away again when the Head continued, forcing Piérre to listen.
Piérre looked about him with a small tight lipped smile. Too true, too true. ”Ah, so you’ve heard of me? I’m flattered.” Piérre gave a short waist bow, also angling it towards the Prefect nearby who must have alerted the head that he and his fellow Gryffindor had invaded the cozy hall. ”But how did you figure it out? The suit... “ Piérre put his chin in his hand. ”I knew the suit was a little too much. That was what tipped you off, wasn’t it?””This is to be a party for Badgers only I am afraid. From what I heard this year, Lions have no problem with making their own parties where they go.”
After letting the words sink in and letting people react accordingly, Piérre shrugged, brushing off the suit’s sleeves. ”And yet, it is meraviglioso, wonderful, isn’t it?” He spun once to let the gold patterns shimmer in the low light.
”I'm politely asking you to exit the room for today. I'm sure you will see your Huffle friends again tomorrow."
Piérre finally turned back tot he head of the house, looking down at his feet. He kicked at it once or twice, not speaking, before looking up and acknowledging the Hufflepuff head. The good news was that he was not frowning at the young Gryffindor, even though Piérre had proven that he could be quite a handful when called upon. The bad news was that Piérre knew he had no choice but to leave. After all, he had been kindly requested. Even Piérre the trickster knew when he had to oblige Piérre the chevalier, and this was one of those times. There was no need to dig himself into bigger trouble by pretending to be someone he was not, even though he himself thought he sported a good chance of convincing anyone given the time.
Finally, Piérre smiled again, turning back to the group he was about to leave. ”Alright. Well, it was fun to meet all of you! Feel free to owl if you want...” His gaze lingered on Duna. ”Have fun, Duna! Tell me lots of stories tomorrow!”
Piérre passed by the head of house. ”Thanks for letting me stay, at least for as short of a time as this was. I can’t ignore a good party. Best of luck to your house!” He waved at the Head once before walking a little closer to the exit.
He turned again. ”Hey, Quinn! Come on! Have a chat while we go back to Griff common room!” Piérre waved towards Quinn, who was still standing by the gathered group. It was evident that he/she (Piérre didn’t know if Quinn was in the male or female dorms of Gryffindor yet) didn’t want to leave the party almost as much as he did.
Without waiting for Quinn to respond, Piérre quickly corkscrewed to the snack table, snatched two bags of Doritos and two enormous handfuls of loose candy/trial mix and shoved them into his pockets before his sprinted out of the ballroom, ignoring any shouts of displeasure which may follow him afterwards.

Hufflepuff Pride Party!
@Caradoc Browne
Libby had begun to feel a little bit left out, and her stomach wasn't feeling well either. Maybe someone had messed with the snacks, because she began to feel exceedingly nauseous. “ER, I DON'T FEEL WELL—” She clapped her hand over her mouth, wincing. She could only just manage to hold it back.
She glanced at the hidden Gryffindors, more at the one named Quinn, apparently. She felt bad for most likely being the reason why they got into trouble, with her loud mouth. She felt her face redden and she quickly went over to the trashcan to throw out the rest of her Doritos. Her stomach rumbled, but not in a better way. My stomach...
Libby went back over to the group with a deepening frown. She noticed Professor Browne and waved at him. She quickly went over and muttered, “Um, hullo, I think something's wrong with the chips—”
She hurled all over the floor, just missing the professor. Tears prickled her eyes and she let a whimper before rushing out of the ballroom, clutching her stomach. Libby was too embarrassed, she had to go. She didn't even look back, she headed straight to the girl's lavatory and locked herself in a stall.

Hufflepuff Pride Party!

Interacting with everyone/anyone listening | Open to interactions
Serena was super late, which was not a huge surprise to anyone because her time management kind of sucked. She had managed to throw on a yellow t-shirt - the first yellow t-shirt that she could find in her chest - with a pair of dark blue skinny jeans and a pair of black flats. It was not a fancy outfit, by any means. She usually dressed kind of 'nice' for parties, simply because her mother would have insisted that she should look 'rich' at all times. But honestly, this party was not for her mother. It was not about purebloods meeting each other and mingling. It was about Hufflepuffs getting together and doing what they do best: sticking together.
This party was more of a comforting experience for her. It was a group of friends, close knitted loyal friends. That was what being a Hufflepuff meant to her. She was a proud Badger and she knew she had to attend the party to show it.
Rushing in, Serena burst through the doors, "HI GUYS!" She called out pretty loudly as she entered, making a loud entrance if nothing else, "Sorry I'm late," She continued to anyone who was listening and then looked around to see who was actually there. She spotted quite a few familiar faces, and some that she did not know as well. The third year beamed happily, with a big smile on her face. Today, nothing would go wrong. This would not be like any other Hufflepuff event, she silently told herself to calm her nerves. This time, everything would be okay. As long as she acted confident and brave, everything would be fine. That was the rule. At least... it was in her head.
