Vaille Que Vaille
Reid thought French rolled off the tongue nicely, he was quite interested in listening to it whenever Alexx brought it up. They were all rather interesting to him and he wanted to know more, but he was a little too short sighted to really ask. He was always hoping to get to know the other students, but Scully probably wasn't going to find much of a friend in the cats.
Students at Hogwarts were very different from the ones he grew up with in Derby and he wondered if it had to do with their upbringing. So far, Scott, Ami, and Alexx were well mannered in general. But the ones back in his row were rowdy, loud, and rude in some cases. He had toned himself down immensely after what his mother had told him when he was first attending the magical school.
He had to learn how to get along with people, he had to listen to people, and he couldn't fool around like he used to back in the yard. Hopefully he'd find some more people to eventually just explore or create an adventure of their own, within reason of course. His eyes often flicked from person to person, smiling and laughing slightly as the three of them spoke.
But Reid's eyes settled on the countryside, he watched from where he sat rather curiously. It was the same view every year, but he found details to love about it. Derby was a city, it had buildings and structures that didn't let him see any open plains, not only that - it was smack bang in the middle of everything. But here, for once, Reid felt very liberated from having to worry about everyday muggle life. He was safe at Hogwarts ... somewhat, but that was just some hiccups.
He remained hopeful that he'd call it his home yet and perhaps people like Ami, Scott, and Alexx good friends eventually. The gentle rocking of the cabin and the murmur of the others and the compartments around them began to slowly lull him to sleep.
He was also tired, excited over what was to come for the summer. Scully sat in his hands, his head began to tip slightly. Reid would jerk it every now and then in a futile attempt to stay awake. But eventually, his head gently laid against the window and the young wizard was contentedly fast asleep.
EXIT, unless someone woke Reid up during the ride.
"Trouble usually finds me."
