Rielle made her way down to the lake, putting her sunglasses on as she did and wishing she'd thought to bring some sunscreen with her. The sun beat down on her fiercely; all she could think about at that moment was getting into that cool water and just flailing around in it.

She nodded at the other students who were already there, smiled, then made her way a little way from the others. Spreading out her beach towel, she sat down and pulled off her swimsuit cover, throwing it down on the ground before making her way over to the edge of the lake and dipping one toe into the cool water. Without further ado, she hurried into the lake and dove into the water, swimming underwater a little way before surfacing and smoothing her hair out of her eyes. She basked in the feel of the cold water and the soft mud which squished between her toes. Rielle could get used to this. Oh yes, she could.

After another twenty minutes, ten of which she had spent floating on her back, Rielle made her way back onto land and over to her beach towel, quickly drying herself off before spreading it out again and lying down on it. Vowing not to stay so long out in the sun that she turned as red as a cooked lobster, she then closed her eyes and allowed herself to enjoy the warm rays of the sun.

Annie looked out the castle's windows to the Great Lake. Everyone seemed to be down there laying around or splashing in the water. The young Hufflepuff grabbed her book, a blanket and some sunscreen before making the decision to step outside. As soon as she set foot onto the grounds she felt thr angry blaze of the doom on her back and wished she brought clothes to change into so she could swim. Annie shrugged and made her way down to the lake before picking a spot next to the old twisted tree which had a bit of shade to shelter her from the sun.

She turned to see a few groups of people huddled together chatting or laughing and swimming. A particular group was huddled around a girl on the grass who seemed to be.. injured? Annie suddenly got alarmed and was rethinking her decision of heading down to the lake this afternoon. Hurriedly, the girl silently rushed over to the situation and tapped a boy's shoulder whom was standing nearby. "I didn't see what happened is everything okay?"

Small wrinkles appeared on her forehead in confusion at the boy's distressed look. She looked around wildly to see a few more people, including a questionably dressed boy gather around. "Ehm.. there are too many people here, that will just make the situation worse I should go.." Annie mumbled to herself before walking off, quickly in the direction she had just come from. Really her social anxiety got the best of her. She just wanted to curl up and hide away back inside the school but it was too late.

Before returning to the safe haven of the tree she sat at before she eyed a girl in a towel turning a little.. crispy colored and hesitantly approached her. "You may not be as pale as I am but I think you would regret a sunburn from this lovely weather." Annie offered her bottle of sunscreen that she had slipped outside with her. She looked over her shoulder at the scene she had just come from before looking back to the girl she had just offered sunscreen to. "It is a nice day, isn't it?" Annie asked almost as if questioning her question before her voice broke and she stood there in complete awkward silence. Yep. Nice day indeed.

@Charlotte Cadunt @Tatiana Crane @Min-seo Kim @Carson Miller @Dale Kurt @Mac Murphy @Katrina Walker @Annie Morgan and @Oliver Lock if he wants to come lmao I feel like everyone’s here sooo... yeah and I’m also open to interactions from anyone else
Maggie strolled down to the lake, whistling as she bounced the football of the dirt path. They’d decided to ditch the barbecue and hang out at the lake with everyone else instead. She’d grabbed the football on the way over, waving Mac and Dale on and telling them she’d catch up. And she did catch up, as she was walking with them now to a rather worrying scene.

All of their friends were crowded around something, or rather, someone, and she also noticed a weird-looking boy lingering on the outskirts of the crowd. As she drew nearer, she realized with a start that it was Charlotte, and she quickly rushed over to see what had happened. The crowd opened up as she, Mac, and Dale arrived, and they quickly formed a circle again as they’d found spots to stand.

Maggie kneeled down beside Charlotte and held her arm, sending her a questioning look that asked, can you get up without actually having to say it. Charlotte nodded, and Maggie, with the help of Carson, helped Charlotte to her feet, and she put one arm around each of their necks. The walked down towards the BBQ, where all of the Professors were at the moment, looking for help. Maggie couldn’t help but feel bad for Charlotte, but it was kind of all in the past at the moment.

Illowy wasn't exactly one to 'go swimming', after all she couldn't didn't swim. However, it was too lovely of a day to not go outside for at least a little bit. Just as well, she'd been keeping herself cooped up terribly since she arrived at camp, working on her research and her brain was in desperate need of a break.

As the girl came down the path towards the lake, she looked on curiously, wondering if there were any students that she knew out and about today. The girl nervously tucked some hair behind her ear and readjusted the bag on her shoulder. The Slytherin wore an off white, linen dress with floral embroidery and long bell sleeves and a pale pink swimsuit under. Her long, dark hair was all gathered up in a messy ballet bun, though there were a few curls that had escaped confinement and framed around her face.

As she reached the lakeside, the girl kept off to the side of the small crowd of people, finding herself a place off to the side. It seemed she'd already missed quiet a commotion. However it seemed to be under control for now and it seemed best not to get too involved.

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

Startled by the sudden voice coming from nearby, Rielle sat up quickly and immediately wished she hadn't, as her skin was starting to protest from the sun. She turned to see another girl holding out a bottle of sunscreen toward her and smiled gratefully. "Thank you so much." she said, pouring the lotion on her hand and then rubbing herself down with it. "I have some in my cabin, but I was so eager to get out here that I completely forgot all about it. I won't do that again."

A long moment passed as she finished putting the lotion on, then handed the bottle back to the other student. "Hey, my name's Rielle, by the way. Rielle Brandt. I'm a first year here...Gryffindor." She jumped as a shriek of laughter sounded from somewhere behind her. "Wow. My nerves are more shot than I thought. I'm not one for being around a whole lot of people, to be honest. Isn't that crazy?"

She stood up again and straightened out her towel again, making sure to get rid of all of the wrinkles before sitting down on it again. Rielle held out a hand in a silent invitation for the other girl to sit down with her, smiling as she did.

At some point, Jay had decided that if this was a summer camp, he may as well head outside where the "summer" part of the name applied. Although, it seemed to him that such a word as summer was a bit strong for this part of the world. That word seemed to promise long days of sweltering temperatures, during which kids would want to wear shorts and have water balloon fights to pass the time. Such a promise seemed empty in Jay's eyes, and he was of the opinion that they should change the name from "summer," and instead to "the farthest thing from winter we can manage."
He had grown up in London, however, where the temperatures weren't a whole lot better, so he was mainly used to it.

In defiance of the lack of hot weather, he had changed into swim trunks and a tank-top, and was currently meandering towards the designated swimming area of the lake. He was quickly realizing that, despite his concerns, the day was quite a nice one after all, the lack of clouds allowing the sun to shine its benevolent rays down on the students strewn about the beach. Jay now stepped onto said beach, his sandals sinking into the sun-warmed sand as he cast his gaze around the area to take in the activity around him.

Upon his inspection, he observed that there was quite an abundance of the fairer sex currently at the lake. He noticed very few boys among the crowds of girls, and this caused quite the mixture of feelings within him. While there was certainly no doubt that he was a bit of a romantic and had no qualms with spending time with girls, the sheer numbers made him hesitate.
It's so much harder when they travel in flocks, he thought mildly.
He did happen to notice one boy in particular, kneeling among a large group gathered around a girl who seemed to be in a bit of discomfort. Judging by the fact that him and the girl were some of the only ones present who were dripping wet, as well as his positioning and her current disposition, it seemed quite possible that he had helped the girl in some way; saved her from the water, perhaps?
Jay couldn't help but grin as he had the thought. Lucky kid. Some guys go their whole lives without an opportunity to help a damsel in distress.
Jay himself occasionally romanticized such events in his own head, visualizing scenarios where he could come to a beautiful maiden's aid, after which they would obviously fall madly in love and spend their lives together.

Still grinning, he shrugged and glanced around once more. Now he spotted two girls conversing with one another not far from him. Figuring that this would probably be the smallest group that he could approach, he casually strode in that direction.
Upon reaching his destination, he stopped a few paces away from the pair and said cheerfully, "Hello there, girls! I don't believe I've met either of you, though that's not saying much, considering the fact that I just arrived at Hogwarts for Summer Camp, and the coming school year will be my first." He tended to ramble a bit at times, but he couldn't be bothered to notice, and he was simply too eager to start making a new circle of friends at Hogwarts. Speaking of friends, he wondered if his cabin-mates would join him at any point. He continued talking, "What might your names be?"

Annie smiled as she saw the relief that overcame the girl's face as she took the sunscreen. "Yeah, figured you needed that, you were about to turn into a burnt potato." She gave a soft, breathy laugh at her joke before taking her hand as an offer to lay down on the grass next to her. "Nice to meet you Rielle, I'm Annie Morgan, a Hufflepuff and shall be going into my second year at this school." The Hufflepuff motioned to the large castle behind them.

Annie saw the girl jump at laughter? She did seem a tad nervous. "Hey, being nervous is alright, I mean if you make friends I promise things won't be so bad, and guess what, we're now friends so I'd say things are looking up for you already." Annie nudged her arm with her elbow and gave a slight chuckle.

"Ah Merlin's beard where'd I put the sunscreen, now I'm starting to burn up." Annie got up to search for her bright yellow bottle but noticed a guy approaching them instead. Huh, a new face I haven't seen this guy before, please don't let him be a jerk or scare my new friend or you will never see the light of day again!" Annie shook her head to clear some.. interesting thoughts before she realized he had approached herself and Rielle.

She blanked out during the middle of his "speech". "Wow he likes to talk, kinda like someone else I know.." "Shut up!" Annie yelled at her brain, or tried to since the words instead slipped out if her mouth. Her face instantly paled and her bangs swept into her face to cover her eyes, but didn't protect the tips if her ears which were beat red. "Holy Hufflepuff, I'm sorry I swear I was talking in my head, er." Annie mumbled as she glanced over at Rielle who hadn't spoken a word. She pleaded with her eyes in a 'please back me up' sort of way.

Carson couldn’t help but feel proud of himself as he and Maggie walked back to the lake, Charlotte limping in between them. They’d gone down to the nurse, and she’d wrapped up Charlotte’s ankle, telling her that she needed to be off of it and that, “You’re very lucky that young man saved you, dearie.”. Carson had felt a surge of pride in his chest at that, and he’d puffed out his chest a little as he was reviving so much praise.

Charlotte herself had one arm around each of their necks, but since Carson was actually a couple inches taller than Maggie, she was kind of lopsided. She stumbled a little bit, tripping over Carson’s foot, and he quickly stopped down, repositioning himself so she could grab onto his arm so she wouldn’t fall.

Carson felt a blush rage wild on his cheeks as he looked up slightly, Charlotte’s face only a few inches from his. He’d heard rumors that she was Part-Veela, and he hadn’t really been surprised when he heard them. He guessed the first time he actually saw her was at the Lake Party Maggie held for all of her friends, which included Carson and Charlotte. If he was being honest, the only reason he’d eaten that soggy chip was to impress her, as he’d thought she was really pretty and he wanted her to like him. Now that he thought about it, eating a soggy chip dripping with lake water probably wasn’t the most impressive thing.

She was pretty though, and he thought saving her life kinda made up for it. He realized he’d been staring a second too long, and he quickly straightened, coughing awkwardly and rubbing the back of his neck. His face was on fire, and he averted his eyes towards the ground as he walked back towards the lake, sending the more than occasional glance in Charlotte’s direction.

After a minute or two of walking, they’d reached the lake, and he and Maggie had carefully laid Charlotte down on her towel, which had been placed next to Tatiana’s, his own, and Maggie’s. He grinned at them, the entirety of both cabins were here.

“They said she’d be fine, guys, it’s all good.” he glanced at Charlotte as he said this, hoping what he’d said was actually entirely true. It’d suck to have to spend all Summer sitting around because of a dumb ankle. The group of students dispersed, most of them staying to sit with Charlotte and chat, some of them venturing into the lake, and Carson quickly scanned the students gathered.
A few others had arrived, and Carson recognized the girl that had tapped him on the shoulder earlier, asking if Charlotte would be alright. He jogged over, noticing how she was sitting with a few other students.

“Shut up!” she said, somewhat intensely. Carson’s eyes widened slightly, and so did the girl’s. “Holy Hufflepuff, I’m sorry I swear I was talking in my head, er...” she trailed off, looking towards the other girl for backup. Yikes Carson thought, I’d hate to be that bloke. The boy looked uncomfortable, and, since Carson didn’t recognize him, he thought he was a first year. Deciding to come to the boy’s rescue, he butted in,

“Hey! Um, I know you were asking about Charlotte, the hurt girl, earlier,” he began, directing his gaze towards the brunette girl, “And I just wanted to let you know that she’s fine— er, well, she will be fine.” he corrected himself, laughing slightly. “I’m Carson. You guys new?”

It felt like hours, while the measure of time was truly only minutes, that she was beneath the water. Until her lungs burned and felt ready to bust. She would then breech the water's surface, the weight of the water rolling off of her as she gasped for air. She was not here to socialize or to see how many people would find her pretty in a bikini. That was not her priority, she simply wanted to get stronger. She needed to get  stronger, faster so she could endure more. So she could run further away, hit harder and fight longer than anyone else here.

Lonesome, yes. Prepared, also yes.

She would dive beneath the surface again and swim. She had a powerful stroke and shot across the portion of the lake from where she was swimming to the shore. Her feet would touch the stony bottom and slip across the rocks as she found her footing and emerged from the water. Erin was of course a Veela, that alone would garner a few lingering glances but beauty was only skin deep. Most of those that knew her or knew of her would agree. Those that did not probably would not see her beauty first, it was never her intention nor her priority. Wasteful as most youths are she regarded her appearance as many young people would regard their youth and squander it. What they would notice first was rather her strength, she was only a teenager but she was as strong as some adults physically. If only her magic matched her physical brawn, she would be a force to be reckoned with.

She was leaving, she never intended to stay. Her clothes, a sundress of a grey, plain fabric and simple black sandals. She was not one to peacock. She pulled that dress over her head, over the bathing suit. There was nobody here to address. She eyed the students gathered about the shore and the water, attempting to memorize their faces. She wondered how many of them would make it through the year.  How many the month. If some might disappear today. She wondered how many of those faces she would forget.

"they said she'd be fine, guys, it's all good." carson said, glancing at charlotte, with a hint of hope.
oliver was relieved, to say the least. he hadn't wanted the summer, he was really enjoying, to have a terrible accident amidst it. he gave a quick peek toward charlotte, smiling.
"hope you're feeling alright, charlotte." the brunette looked fairly calm, currently settled on a towel beneath her.
oliver pushed a lock of hair out of his face, eyes scanning around. the students that had gathered
began scattering, some approaching the lake and others sitting down. he gave a nervous glance toward maggie. oliver had wanted to spend more time with maggie, though he never found the time in hogwarts, as they were usually only in a handful of lessons together, and didn't spend much time outside of them. he wasn't sure if she even wanted to hang out with oliver, but it was worth a try. he shoved his hands into his front pockets, his head held a little low, and treaded across the space between himself and maggie.
he could already feel the nervousness bubbling inside his chest as he opened his mouth, "you alright, maggie?" he smiled, glancing behind him toward the lake and back toward maggie, "do you want to come down to the lake with me?" he suddenly felt a blush creep up his face, "i mean you know, someone else can come to, it's just well, uh, didn't really want to sit by myself." he cracked a timid smile, his eyes dashing everywhere but the brunette.
