Lake Party
“Fine, I’ll give you an easy one to start off with,” a Slytherin boy spoke, looking to Carson with a smirk. He plucked a chip from the nearest bag and held it out to Carson, “Dunk this in the lake and have a soggy chip for your troubles,” the boy said, looking Carson dead in the eyes, “And don’t worry, you won’t get any strange dieseases from this.” he added, as Carson plucked the chip from him, getting up to his feet. He gave an over dramatic bow, “Not a problem,” he said, a smirk on his face, walking backwards towards the shore of the Great Lake. He turned around, crouched down, and scooped up some water with his chip, letting it sit for a little bit so it was properly “soggy”. He’d thought it’d be a lot less gross than it was, and the tiny fish swimming around his chip weren’t helping either. The murky lake water was gross, especially this close to the shore, but Carson had never been one to back out of a dare, no matter what. He got back up from where he was crouched near the Great Lake, and walked over to the Slytherin boy who’d given him the dare. He held out the chip, so he could see that it was actually quite nasty and slimy, and although there was a pit in Carson’s stomach, he turned around and swiftly stuffed the chip into his mouth. The reaction was instantaneous, the whole group of students recoiling and making retching noises. Carson hadn’t anticipated the texture of the thing, however, which was a million times worse than the chip itself. He couldn’t chew it, but he couldn’t swallow it either, so he had to just let it sit in his mouth until it was swallowable. “Thanks for the dare,” Carson said to the Slytherin boy as he sat back down, “I’m Carson,” he introduced himself, smiling. “Now, who to pick?” Carson said, mocking that he was in deep thought. “How about our dear host, Maggie? Truth or dare, Mags?”

Lake Party
Tatiana shifted over on the blanket to make room as several other students quickly arrived one after another. Though almost all strangers, she was grateful to see at least two other familiar faces. Mac had arrived carrying what smelled like a delicious chicken casserole, and Amaya had brought Maggie an original drawing. After greeting them both, a girl she didn't know arrived shortly after with cookies as well. Thank Dumbledore I'm not the only one who thought to bring her something, she sighed, relieved and feeling a little less embarrassed.
Giving everyone a few minutes to arrive, Tatiana awkwardly made her way around the circle introducing herself. There were students from all four houses, and their numbers were growing rapidly. When Maggie had said a small party she'd barely expected this many people to show up. After a few minutes of small talk, Maggie returned to her original proposal for a game and suggested Truth or Dare.
Everyone seemed open enough to the idea, even if a little nervous. And after a minute or so a Hufflepuff boy named Carson, who she hadn't met before, volunteered to be the game's first victim. Another boy, this one in Slytherin, was quick to dish out his dare- dip a chip directly in the Great Lake and eat it, soggy. Yuck, she thought, watching as he made his way over to the water and dutifully performed his task with little hesitation. Looks like things are off to a rolling start. By the time he returned, he was already offering up the next turn to Maggie. She had proposed the idea, after all. "Yeah, show us what you've got, Mags!" Tatiana encouraged, eager to see what secret she would be divulging or embarrassing task she'd be required to complete.

Lake Party
Dennis' summer plans had been simple; get home, visit his muggle friends and give them the same old boarding school excuse, and get himself into some well-deserved trouble yet again. Simple plans, a simple summer- had he caught the train back home.
Instead, Dennis stood on the platform and watched the tail end of the train disappear, holding all the kids going home to see their parents and friends and enjoy their summers at home. It was a bit of a bummer at first, having to do the walk of shame back up to his dorm and set all his things out again. He sat inside for a bit, writing his parents and explaining the unfortunate turn of events. After awhile though, sitting around had gotten boring, not to mention only made him more annoyed at the fact he had missed his train. Surely, there had to be other first years he knew who had decided to stay, if he could only remember who all had mentioned it to him.
Maggie! She had invited him to a lake party just earlier that week, hadn't she? That was happening tonight, maybe he could show up a bit late and just slip right into the action. Dennis dug through his belongings and quickly changed into a pair of his board shorts and a plain white shirt, bounding down the stairs and through the commons on his way to the lake. It didn't take long to spot the group once he arrived, sending a wave of relief through the boy. He broke out into a full sprint, having to catch himself occasionally as his feet tumbled over themselves, nothing stopping him from his clumsy decent down the hill. He didn't hit the brakes until he reached the others, stopping by the only person he was *really* familiar with, Mac Murphy. Maggie and Dennis had become friends, but he and Mac had gotten ice cream together.
Dennis' feet left small ruts in the ground as he came to a stop, immediately hunching over and resting his hands on his knees to catch his breath. A smile was still perched on his face, beaming as he looked from the ground to everyone attending the party, faces he hadn't known but seen around here and there. A few looked familiar, but Dennis hadn't really spoken to many people his first year so none of their names popped into mind. He stayed quiet, hoping to be able to listen in for a moment and catch up on what they were all doing.

Lake Party
Mac laughed to himself as the Slytherin offered up his dare. He found himself wondering if the Hufflepuff had it in him to actually do it, though he didn't have the time to think on it for very long. With a smug little smirk on his face, the curly-haired boy pranced over to the Lake and dipped his chip into the muddy water. Mac gasped, his eyes visibly lighting up with a strange mixture of fascination, glee, and abject horror as the Hufflepuff bit straight into the soggy chip without so much as flinching.
"Well... let's just hope you don't get E. Coli," he said to Carson with a giggle as he helped himself to one of the potato chips, which was thankfully free from murky, giant squid-infested lake water.
The blanket shifted as someone sat next to him, awfully close for someone he didn't know. He turned to look over his shoulder, only to find none other than Dennis Harris. "Dennith?" he asked with wide eyes, not fully realizing in the wake of the shock that his mouth was full of Lays potato chips. His cheeks flushed as he put a hand over his mouth, quickly swallowing his mouthful of food before clearing his throat.
Dennis had sent him an owl before the summer came to an end, along with his phone number, his email address, his Neopets and Wizard 101 username, and his 3DS friend code. "What are you doing here? I thought you were going home." Despite his initial shock, he couldn't help but feel a little giddy at the thought of Dennis staying for the summer. It seemed that more trips to Florean's were in their future, after all.

Lake Party
Charlotte looked at her reflection in the mirror for a few seconds, fidgeted with her hair and sighed. She wasn't entirely sure if she ought to go, but couldn't imagine how she was supposed to decline when it had already started. Finally she took a deep breath and grabbed the little basket of sesame cakes she planned on bringing to the party.
She had never been to any parties before, and it didn't bother her much. The calmness of her bedroom had always been more enticing than the non-stop chatting of parties. I should at least go to one, right?Well, there was no turning back now… She checked her outfit one last time in the mirror before putting a tiny coat of mascara on, put on her shoes and pushed the door of the girls dormitory.
The common room was pretty busy and no-one notice this young girl carrying a basket of cakes walk across the room. Once in the corridor, she hurried outside, checking her watch every few seconds, feeling her heart beat faster and faster by the minute. Her shoes resonated in the empty corridor and even though it was completely empty, she tip-toed the last couple of meters left.
Outside, the sun shone pretty bright and Charlotte had to put a hand above her eyes to avoid the bright sun rays that reflected on the shimmering lake. Her freckles showed even more on this sunny day and gave her face a childish look, or at least that was what she thought. She took several deep breaths to try and slow down her heart beat as she saw the crowed gathered by the lake. Oh no…She was going to have to walk towards this group of strangers, greet them all and sit awkwardly next to one of them.
As she got closer and closer, she recognised a familiar face and sighed, relieved. Fumiko, a girl she had met earlier in the week was sitting, watching as a boy bent down towards the lake, dipping a crisp in the water. She frowned, wondering why on earth he would do that. Don't tell me they're playing truth or dare, please...
She arrived near the group and waved timidly at everyone.
'H-Hi, I'm Charlotte, nice to meet you all' she said right before biting her lip and tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. 'I'll just stay here, not that fond of truth or dare' she said as a gentle smile spread across her face, pulling on her sleeves. She put the basket at her feet, watching as the game continued.

Lake Party
Fumiko hid her urge to chuckle at Murphy for his forgotten items behind an amused smile as she slightly bowed down . " It's alright! Nice to meet you Mac " . ' Mac ' wasn't a name she said often . Her Japanese mother tongue tied and twisted trying to get her pronunciation right.N E W - I N F O R M A T I O N - G A I N E D :
Mitten Boy -> Mac Murphy
She cursed herself for still having troubles with words that end with a 'c'. She just hoped Murphy didn't mind and be patient with her incorrect pronunciation.
Witnessing the first dare made Fumiko rethink her decisions on attending this party. Though disgusted by what happened, she was genuinely amazed how the glasses boy could do it that she unconsciously clapped when he completed the dare. ' respect ' she mouthed, though she didn't care if it was unnoticed.
She wondered if she could do a dare like that, especially around new people. Her fear to keep her image clean and untainted made her wish her dare wouldn't be so...dirty.
Another girl arrived and when she gave Maggie her gift, Fumiko felt guilt for not bringing a gift of her own.
Mac bought delicious food and hoodie girl bought her own artwork.
What did Fumiko bring?
She made a mental note to bring one if she ever gets to be invited to another party.
Her eyes caught another boy running towards the group in a sprint. She was going to leave him alone and rethink of what to say when the running boy arrived. Though when he did, she was taken aback how he kept on sprinting only for a full stop once he was near Murphy. She sat near him so she could feel the dust from the ground ambush her when the sprinting boy halted.
Coughing out the dust that almost got into her mouth while swatting away the dust particles, she said : " You know what, at least the casserole is fine " she mumbled out careful not to show her irritation.
If the sprinting guy didn't look so happy seeing Murphy she would've actually insulted him on the spot. But this is Maggie's party, and Fumiko wouldn't want to be the first one to turn it sour.
Her eyes widened as she looked up when she heard a familiar voice. It's Cadunt! Who would've thought they'd meet again in such circumstances. She believed Cadunt was more than capable of finding friends and it wasn't really a surprise to see her at Maggie's party.
She noticed how Cadunt didn't personally greet her like a friend so Fumiko assumed she was asking her to pretend they never met before ,and the night they spent watching stars and talking about all sorts of things never happened.
Fumiko didn't mind. She understood Cadunt if she wanted it to be like this. It was a bit odd to see Cadunt so timid since she has been anything but on their first meeting.
She frowned for a while when Cadunt refused to take part in their game but sent her an assuring smile. Perhaps Cadunt was just being careful and saving herself for humiliating situations that could occur here. Didn't she mention she had anxiety before? Fumiko didn't get a full detail but she was nevertheless worried for Cadunt.
Looking back at glasses boy, she wondered what a Hufflepuff boy could dare Maggie if she choose dare. ( which is a likely ). Knowing Maggie, she'll be fine with extreme dares so it was curious to Fumiko if glasses boy can come up with a dare worthy of a Parker.

Charlotte stood there a little, not really knowing what she was waiting for. She then looked at Maggie and Fumiko and smiled gently at them when they finally made eye contact, before turning back to face the group. Should she sit down? She didn't really know, but it felt a little awkward just standing there.
She looked back at Fumiko before walking slowly towards her, trying not to bring to much attention to herself. When she thought about it, it was a little silly, given she wore a bright yellow top, and was the only person standing.
She sat by Fumiko's side, wondering what the girl would think of that. Would she ignore her or on the contrary, talk to her? She did not know but at least felt safe beside someone she knew. Her legs in front of her, she looked around at all the people that were sitting. At least they weren't the only Hufflepuffs… Maggie had invited a lot of young wizards, from all houses and Charlotte was eager to know a little more about all of them.
She looked again, trying to see if she knew anyone else, even if it had only been a little eye contact in the corridors, but no. She sighed as wondered how long this game would last.

Dennis fell to his knees the moment he had caught his breath enough to speak. He made a quick mental note to revisit the girl sitting on his other side, it had been a bit obvious he had kicked some dust and debris onto her in his excitement and he needed to apologize when she wasn't busy with greeting her friends. She and her friend looked familiar anyways, maybe they were Hufflepuffs or they all just shared a class, either way it couldn't hurt to try and befriend them.
Dennis' smile reappeared when he turned to Mac, though, shifting in his spot to turn a bit more toward him. "Yeah, I did too until about twenty minutes ago." His smile broke into a small chuckle, shrugging his shoulders at his own mishap. "I didn't bother telling anyone I had missed it, I didn't have any big plans this summer anyways, so there was no point having someone go out of their way to help me or anything. Plus, spending the summer with you guys didn't seem half bad." He smiled wider, leaning over to nudge Mac with his elbow lightly. He took another, clearer look around the party, taking in familiar faces to find one boy he knew he had seen around the common room. He couldn't quite remember his name though, he had always been bad with names. He made another note to get to know him better later on, turning his attention back to Mac.

She looked at the boy who was giving the dare. He told the other boy to dip a chip in the lake and eat it. Oh lord. Min-seo gagged as the boy who offered to go first ate the soggy potato chip. Who in their right mind would do that? The lake was full of nasty germs! She scrunched up her eyes so she wouldn't throw up. That was disgusting. She heard that Maggie was going next. She didn't really know Maggie that well, let alone all of these people. She felt like somewhat of an outcast here. No one had said hi to her, and it seemed like everyone knew each other. She hugged her knees quietly and looked around. There were the boys who did the dare thing, Maggie, a girl with a bright yellow sweater, and a few more people. She had always been shy, so she didn't want to introduce herself to anyone. What if they didn't like her? What would they say? A small girl coming up to them and saying hey sounded like a horrible idea on her part. She just couldn't. She pulled at the shoe strings on her converse. No one wanted to talk to her here because they didn't know her. That's what she thought.
