Alexx chuckled at his suggestion. Pestering Professor Jensen? That sounded like a nightmare, and Alexx was into it. Plus, Quinn's enthusiastic state did put her in the mood to get herself out there. "That sounds like a fun idea. I'm not sure if Professor Jensen likes me much. I'm not sure if Professor Jensen likes anyone much, actually." Alexx followed him to the table, grabbing a glass of punch. Who even drank punch? She couldn't believe this was a real thing that was served somewhere. She understood something like a coke or perhaps Kool-aid, but seriously, what the fuck was punch?
Nodding at her friend, Alexx agreed. "Not bad." That was all that she could say, because anything more felt awkward to her. She wished that she contained more emotions, but she simply didn't. Alexx wasn't lively or loving. She cared a lot about her friends, for sure. In fact, she had three close ones, one of those being Quinn, that she would give the world to if she could. However, the poor girl simply did not understand how to express that in words. That was half the battle, and she lost it for sure.
As Quinn went to go challenge that man from earlier, the one she couldn't recall the name or purpose of (though she was beginning to suspect that he might be someone important), she made her way over to Professor Jensen. "Evening, Professor," She quipped kindly in her French accent. "It appears my friend has left me to meet the end of his arm usage, so I've come to bother you for the time being. Are you enjoying the party?" It was small talk, something that Alexx hated with all of her 98 pounds. If she could put her entire being into the hatred of small talk, it might not have realistically been a lot, but it would measure the amount of hatred just fine.
Her eyes didn't leave Quinn, watching as the man accepted the challenge. She eyed the two with enthusiasm, the same smirk that could be found on face of the professor was also plastered across her porcelain colored skin. Most of what Quinn did was amusing, there was no doubt about that, but this was certainly a sight to see. As the man volunteered Professor Jensen to be the referee, Alexx chuckled. "I believe in you, Quinn. You can take him." She encouraged her friend jokingly, though she did have a lot of respect for him. A 12-year-old boy putting a fully-grown Irishman to the test? The odds were not in his favor, but he had spirit, and that's what mattered.
Where was Ami in a time like this? Or Scott? The two would be enjoying this immensely. Hell, where were all of her friends? She surely knew more than one second year. In fact, she knew that she did. There was... Well, there were three people! Three people who she liked the most of all! It was Quinn, Ami, and then what was that idiot's name again? Reid, or something like that.
Sighing to herself, she watched Quinn and the man still, silently awaiting Professor Jensen's response to the two of them. It was certainly interesting, the situations she found herself in when she was with Quinn. Alexx held a lot of respect for the kid. He was clearly going through a lot, but he still found it in him to be lively and wild. She smiled at him yet again, but a bit softer this time.

@Dymphna Teague @Erin Ryan

Time has flown by so fast. It has been almost a year since Claryssa died, 345 days to be exact. 20 days until the anniversary. OOF. She felt tears well up in her eyes, but Marissa had gotten good at pushing them away before anyone noticed. And that is what she did, diverting her eyes to the food and refreshment tables for a moment before focusing on the Ravenclaw again. Obviously Dymphna knew Claryssa, they were in the same house and worked on the newspaper together. And obviously she knew about the death, Claryssa was gone. For almost a bloody year. Time sure does fly by when you do not take notice of it. Almost Third Year now, 13 years old and counting.
Dymphna was reading her like a book, Mari could tell by how she was looking at her. Probably wondering if her walls were cracking or if she was going to do something crazy. But Marissa kept her smile on as the Ravenclaw continued to talk. "I'm quite l-looking forwards t-t-to Care of M-magical creatures." Divination seemed quite a daunting class, on which it was most likely that she was going to fail. But it was still an option for her. "Are y-you going to b-be taking it as a-a class?" Mari kept the smile on just in case.
Marissa flinched slightly as another student popped out of nowhere. She was standing just a few uncomfortably inches away from Dymphna, and ignored Marissa as if she was never there. The girl wanted to dance? Mari had never seen the girl around before, or even heard of her. Was she a transfer student, or like Marissa and kept to herself. The Hufflepuff read the girl's expression, was she happy, annoyed, or sad? It was hard to tell but probably bored. Then Dymphna ditched her with the girl to dance. Great. Mari just stood there, confused on what just happened.

Open for InteractionsQuinn was almost too giddy to contain his excitement. He honestly did not think the professor would agree to such a request. He was even more surprised to hear the professor respond to him back in his mother tongue. Oh the surprises this one had. He would never admit what he was thinking though he couldn't help the massive ear to grin that quickly graced itself upon his face.
"Aye ah know ah can handle a challenge. It ain't wee if ah'm the one challenging broc mór. After all..." He started to walk over to Professor Browne taking off his suit jacket and draping it on his shoulders. All the while he quickly undid the buttons and rolled up his sleeves to just above the elbow. "...Buailfidh mé le do bhrón agus déanfaimid ceiliúradh ina dhiaidh sin." He practically had a shit eating grin on his face.
He glanced to the professor and then Alexx winking. Walking up to the table he bent over and rested his dominant elbow down grasping Professor Browne's hand as firmly as he could. He was ready, his spirit was ready and flaring. He hadn't felt this pumped about anything in a long while and he was going to enjoy every single ounce of it for as long as he could. "Ready to lose sean broc?" He raised a brow inquisitively challenging the older man. If his granda was here he'd probably smack Quinn for showing so much disrespect then invite them both for a drink for being in his words 'true irishmen'.
The thought made him giggle and want to get to know his new head of house more. "Ready when ye are." It was obvious that Quinn was being playful and just trying to have some good fun. "...unless ya know ye be a dry shite." He knew full well what the insult meant thanks to his grandfather who quite literally cursed like a sailor. In this context it might be stretching it a bit. But with his thick Dublin accent now showing and the way of his tone he hoped it came off as nothing but harmless talk to play up this silly little act.[/font]
To fear the unknown is to fear progress, don't shy away from it. Embrace it and discover something new.

Second Year Graduation Party

{ Interacting with Caradoc Browne, Quinn Healy & Alexx Séverin }
Hjørdis paused as she saw her colleague stop. His escape seemingly had failed. He should have run whilst he had the chance. It was no surprise that he was forced to stay. What did surprise her, however, was the accent. Her eyes quickly shot to him, a little taken back by the thick Irish accent that came out of his mouth. It was not there moments ago. She would not have guessed he was Irish as well. The Head of Slytherin quirked an eyebrow slightly, not expecting any of the words that he said to come out of his mouth. It certainly sparked her curiosity a little and pulled her attention.
Although she did not have an Irish accent herself, she understood the words that they said. She was not fluent but she could hold a conversation. Her mother, after all, was Irish. Hjørdis had not grown up with her mother's side of the family. She reconnected with them during her teenage years, which was when she started to pick the language up. However, she had not lived in Ireland or around them for more than a month at a time. Occasional trips in the summer holidays was more her speed.
Hjørdis said nothing, simply watching the pair interact. The change in Caradoc's outward personality was quite remarkable. It turned from professional and a bit awkward to very friendly in a matter of moments. He was likely very good with children. The little badger that he spoke to was definitely growing on her. Healy. That was the name that she made a mental note of. The young Healy was definitely full of spirit, energy and passion. Or perhaps overly confident. Either way, it was rather amusing to watch him smack talk a man taller and broader than himself.
The female simply took a sip of her punch again, as she noticed Caradoc downing the contents of his own glass. Quirking an eyebrow, she could not help but wonder if he was hoping it was something stronger than fruit juice. If stereotypes were anything to go by, the Irish could certainly drink. He almost acted like it was a fine firewhiskey in the glass. She noticeably quirked her eyebrow as the man proceeded to wink at her.
"Good evening, Miss Séverin," Hjørdis replied, careful with her surname, as she turned her attention to the girl who had approached her. She knew Alexx relatively well. Whilst they had not spoken much in a casual setting, she knew of her work as a Prefect. Professionally speaking, the pair had spoken and worked together. She shook her head lightly, "It's no bother at all," She admitted, having no qualms with being disturbed. Hjørdis had kind of grown used to it. If she wanted peace and quiet, she would stay in her house. Everywhere else, she was available to be disturbed.
"The party is certainly exceeding my expectations, and what about yourself?" She asked the girl. In truth, her expectations for the party was low. Hjørdis had expected danger within the first minute. The longer they went without risking the safety of the students, the more she could relax. That and Quinn's suddenly request was rather intriguing. She had learned quite a bit in a matter of mere moments.
Whilst small task was not something she enjoyed, she understood its purpose and continued the conversation. "Oh, I don't know... Mister Healy looks like a winner right there," Hjørdis continued. Quinn certainly did not lack enthusiasm. As she spoke, she heard her name spoken once more. The pair of males appeared to have picked a table, and a referee. She nodded once, simply to say that she would referee the match on Caradoc's request. "Miss Séverin, care to referee the other side?" She asked, inviting the young Slytherin to join them. In an arm wrestle, it was always best to have a referee on either side. Of course, that was more in championship matches, which got a bit more intense than she expected this one to go... However, nonetheless, she invited the student to join them.
She took the last sips of her drink, almost necking it down in a rather elegant manner. She almost choked on it when she heard the Irish words for 'Old Badger'. He was definitely in a playful and teasing mood, it seemed. Within moments, she had returned the now empty glass to a spare table and approached the boys. "My money is on Mister Healy here." She said, placing her hand briefly on Quinn's shoulder in support as though she were betting on the match. The Professor moved to position, standing near the table, almost smirking at the whole situation. If nothing else, this party was certainly proving to be a little more entertaining than she had expected.
Both the boys decided that they were ready for their duel. Hjørdis glanced over towards Alexx, with a quick nod with a tilt of her head towards the two contestants as though to say 'please go ahead and start it'. She gave the second year the honour of starting the match whenever she was ready to do so. Mister Healy appeared to fit every Irish stereotype it seemed as he insulted Caradoc. She raised an eyebrow slightly. A true Irishman would know how cutting that insult was meant to be. Interesting.

Graduation time!
Second year was a mess. Sure, Rosie had bonded with a few people, but she had spent a lot of time on her studies. She was trying to take herself more seriously, as thirteen year olds did. She had reached teenager status, which basically meant she was super cool. Not really, but she liked to believe that. Rosie's crush on Serena had faded enough for her to act normally around her, and she had come to terms on her attraction for both girls and boys. It wasn't a weird thing, it was just how people were! And regardless, Rosie was a Hufflepuff. They were the superiors! No matter what. Were they behind on homework sometimes? Sure! But they made up for it in spirit.
But Rosie was at graduation, and third year was right around the corner. She was nervous, but excited! Her and her friends were growing up! They were one step closer to adulthood. She had been thinking about what she wanted to do when she was older. Maybe a professional Quidditch athlete, or maybe a muggle doctor so she could work at home. After all, her family was still muggle, they couldn't live anywhere too exotic. But she could try! Maybe she could marry some fancy pure blood and she could have her family visit. Would they have to wipe their memory? Who knew.
She finally arrived! Rosie smoothed down her dress and walked inside, letting out a gentle sigh as she looked around the room. There were a lot of people, for sure. Lots of opportunity for conversation! Rosie paused and saw her dear idiotic friend Quinn trying to arm wrestle their head of house. She squinted and wondered if she was looking at the situation correctly. Nope. That's definitely what was happening. She sighed and moved her curly hair behind her ears, starting to walk over. She happily waved to Dymph as she made her way over to the arm wrestle.
"Are you two sure that this is a good idea?" Rosie decided to greet them with, an eyebrow raised. She looked very skeptical of the whole ordeal. The idea that Quinn could win an arm wrestle match against a professor was a bit out of this world. She rubbed her head and decided to watch instead, crossing her arms. Rosie was only a little worried Quinn's arm would snap. That would definitely suck. But nothing could go wrong, right?
... Right?

What language was Quinn even speaking? Even when the badger boy spoke English, Alexx barely understood half of it. It was entertaining to hear, nonetheless. She giggled at the exchange between Quinn and... the guy? The dude? The man? What was she even supposed to call him? It was as if anything that anyone was saying, whatever title came before him, was going in one ear and out the other. Was she simply oblivious to the man? Perhaps that was so.INTERACTING WITH: @Quinn Healy, @Caradoc Browne, @Rosie Parker, & @Hjørdis Jensen

Turning back to Professor Jensen, Alexx smiled. "Oui, I am quite impressed with the outcome. Not to say that I didn't expect Marissa to pull all of this off, but..." She stopped herself, not wishing to say anything that might be rude. "Things appear to have gotten entertaining, anyway. She nodded, smiling still.
Upon the invitation to referee, Alexx nodded. "Alright, but be warned, I am brutally honest." She chuckled, going to the other side of the table. "Whenever you're ready, you two." She nodded to Quinn and... the man. She would need to learn his name and purpose! Given how wild and spontaneous that Professor Lear was, she wouldn't doubt if he just had some random friend wandering about the castle these days. Perhaps Lear adopted an Irishman off the streets, and that was who this person was. He might have been found outside of a Taco Bell or something like that.
Alexx's attention turned to Rosie, who was addressing Quinn, and probably that random guy as well. Alexx had only met Rosie on one other occasion, so she didn't know her all that well, but she still chuckled. "Quinn can take 'em!" She cheered on for her friend, eyes wrinkling at the ends in excitement. Truth be told? She had no faith in her friend at all. Not even a little bit. But she felt better cheering him on. It was what friends were supposed to do.
Speaking of friends, Alexx was still missing a few counterparts. She couldn't shake the thought of Ami, which was weird, because a few months ago she couldn't shake the thought of Bellamy. Why the sudden change of interest? What was with her? She was so distracted these days, and one person (outside of Kovacs, of course, who was an idiot, by the way) was taking up the majority of her time. Wake up, eat breakfast with Ami, go to class (sometimes with Ami), help Ami study, eat dinner (with Ami if she could help it), patrol, go to her dorms (and think about Ami?). In between she made time for people like Quinn or Scott, but damn was Ami consuming her! Not that she minded, of course. If she had anything against her new schedule, it would have stopped before it even began.
Pushing the thought aside, she turned her attention back to the match. Things were certainly taking an interesting turn. They always did when Quinn was involved. Quinn Healy certainly was the life of the party.

Reid kind of enjoyed this idea, it gave him a chance to do things he normally didn't do. But the downside was actually dressing up for the occassion, something he frankly didn't like doing for anything but school. Even while at school, he was stopped multiple times for walking around with improper dress code. So he came in a simple black suit that he wore a little while ago, sadly, he was a growing boy and his pant legs had hiked up. His shoes weren't anything fancy, in fact they were just canvas shoes, where the logo was showing due to his hiked up pants.
He strutted in with a certain swagger and by swagger, he nearly tripped on a stone cobble on the way in, but recovered by making a beeline for the first thing he saw. Now there was nothing more good and great in this world than the food table, the holy grail of all young teens and kids, even adults. It was like King Arthur's round table, but not as round and more rectangular. Still, no company could match the taste of food and he was never one to squander his time with anything but eating things he normally didn't.
Nearing the end of the year, he had been a more cautious eater, one that ate mindfully and tried to adhere himself to only certain foods. Of course, he felt better, but he also was growing bored of how mundane his regular diet had become. He didn't deprive himself of food, more so didn't eat too many candies as he used to and strayed from sweet things. But consider this day a cheat day, one that he was going to take advantage of to his fullest extent.
He didn't even notice the familiar group of people down the row of food till he turned around, chewing on what looked to be toffee. His forest green eyes pretty much recognized everyone there, even ... Reid couldn't help but internally shirk at the steely-eyed woman named Hjørdis Jensen. Quinn seemed to be stuck in a sort of match, the rest seemed to be watching.
He occupied himself and stacked his plate before coming over to the group, regardless of whether the Head of House for Slytherin made his skin crawl. He offered a smile and tried not to give off the fact that he was a little uncomfortable with Professor Jensen after his debacle in her classroom. Professor Browne was someone who he didn't really have the pleasure of meeting yet, but he seemed like a nice fellow from what he had heard.
"Awe, Quinn c'mon, you can do better than that." he cheekily grinned, taking a bite of his food. He recalled doing this at least once or twice in the Hufflepuff common room, there were always the quiet ones, and then the second years who couldn't contain themselves.
"Trouble usually finds me."

So much faster than me...
Erin approached a pretty little blonde thing, she was having a conversation with another girl that she did not recognize. It did not matter, she was not a Slytherin and she only found Slytherins to be just barely tolerable. They were not dancing, otherwise engaged in amorous behavior or anything of significance, typical teens standing adjacent awkwardly at a dance hoping a boy would come up to them and ask them for their hand. You chose your destiny, you don't await it.
Erin would ask Dymphna to dance.
“Why not one of the boys?”
She smirked. "Do you really want to dance with one of them?" They were getting to the end of that phase where boys were just gross. Even she found them pleasant to observe, from a distance when she was not speaking to them or dealing with them in any regard. She glanced about the room, there was an ancient guy, the new Head of House for Hufflepuff. He was like fifty or something. Then there was Reid Kovacs, former Head Boy, present nobody. She did not trust the yellow-jacket nerd, a first year Prefect was already an unusual prospect but he was also briefly Head Boy. His family did not have any power, nor did his name, he did not appear exceptional in any regard less the fact that he was one of the few males that was still alive. Then there was the big boy, Quinn Healy. like Hugh Lowe she planned to keep her distance from that one as well, another former Prefect and bigger than average. She did not trust it. She did not trust them.
"They have no sense, ignoring you... the prettiest girl in the room," Erin announced. Was she flirting? Yes. Not that she was interested in Dymphna in that way, she just knew to an extent what words she should say to get a girl to smile, feel a bit better about themselves even if they lacked the confidence to believe her.
“So, what’s the catch? There has to be some reason you approached me.”
"Accusations..." she would try to lead Dymphna onto the dancefloor. "You're not wrong of course," she admitted as she guided unless she was somehow prevented, Dymphna's hands onto her shoulders if she did not do so instinctively. "Don't you think it strange," Erin would if not prevented would place her hands on Dymphna's waist. "How few of us remain?" It was a topic nobody seemed willing to discuss, nobody seemed willing to notice. This was the second year celebration for the end of the year, there were only a fraction of them -- maybe a quarter, perhaps even less.

but mentions everyone
The poor Hufflepuff was forgotten as soon as Dymphna spotted Erin. It was a shame because she truly didn’t mean to abandon her, wanted to chat and get to know her but there was something about the way the Slytherin approached her. It didn’t seem to be in a bad way, only the simple option of dancing.
At her question, the blonde gave a shrug. “They aren’t all bad.” Her friend Reid came to mind but Dymphna didn’t see him come in, didn’t see Rosie wave to her either, too focused on Erin’s possible motives, if there were any. Maybe she was turning over a new leaf. It was never too late to do something good, her family lineage was proof of that.
The compliment made her cheeks redden slightly. A surprised laugh bubbled it’s way out of her. She wasn’t used to anyone outside of her family saying anything about her looks and even then, it was like they were obligated to do so. Dymphna couldn’t help but wonder though, was Erin only complimenting her because there was Veela blood running through her veins? Was she wanting a compliment in return?
A quiet thank you left her lips as she allowed Erin to lead her onto the dance floor. As they began to dance, Dymphna following the other girl’s lead, the conversation took a turn. There wasn’t any denying that Hogwarts was dangerous. Every time she turned around, there seemed to be someone in trouble, someone needing to go to the Hospital Wing - something strange indeed.
Felicity. What happened to her? It was as if she disappeared. As for Claryssa, no one told her the details. As if she would ask but it was strange for it not to be released to the public, wasn’t it? So many others seemed to vanish without a trace. Ben was someone that she trusted and believed in but there was a hint of doubt. She hated to think it but what if something happened as The Masked Figure? Worse than an injury that magic could fix.
A flash of anger that turned to concern rather quickly before she finally spoke. “You remind me of Sebastian,” whenever he had ended up. “He was always observing, calculating too.” The boy was something of a friend but it gave her butterflies to think of him. Ignoring the feelings, she focused instead how she was agreeing with Erin. Something she never thought she’d be doing. “Strange indeed. I don’t suppose you know something about it?”
Curious about anything she might know, Dymphna would try to lead her in dance towards the other end of the room, in case anyone was listening in. Looking around, there was quite a crowd now with Quinn and Professor Browne. She noticed Alexx, Rosie and Reid but Erin was right. The lack of second years was extremely evident at the party.

Second Year Graduation Party
Oliver was almost about to not come, in fact he was going to enjoy a little snack and fall asleep eating, his favorite way to fall asleep. He wore a white shirt, a blue tie and navy trousers. The shirt was tucked in and nicely hugged his gut over his belt. He walked in and took a deep breath. Usually for these things he'd cling to the wall and just eat whatever was on the table, but not today. Oliver was feeling like going out with a bang. He noticed some dancing, briefly paused and then just went for it.
Oliver begun dancing with others, he didn't care if he was alone, he was dancing today and nothing could stop him. He begun with just some arm swings and finger clicks. He looked over at the food table but then saw a girl looking at him. From her nod and expression, it seemed she approved of Oliver's dancing. He was with a burst of motivation and courage, as well with a smile and red cheeks.
Oliver's dancing grew faster and wilder, the kid was completely bopping around the dance floor. From milking cows to squats, some might mistake Oliver for working out.
After several minutes of dancing gracefully around the floor, Oliver begun to do a dance move he'd never even seen. It consisted of clapping hands whilst simultaneously moving his backside back in bursts with his hands. Oliver was literally moving backwards, butt jutting outwards as he moved around the room. "Oh yeah, oh yeah," he sung along to himself.
Oliver's butt landed against someone, he didn't quite feel it till he tried again. He immediately turned around, hands on his butt. He had just bashed into Erin Ryan and Dymphna Teague. Oliver's eyes widened as he stared at Erin.
"I-I... uh, I-... the-, it-, sorr-, you-, no...-" Oliver completely choked up, his cheeks shaking as he looked at his bully. He was frozen in place, staring at one of the most popular girls in his year and the most horrible girl in his year.
