Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
Left. Right. Right. Quick, jump left. Duck and roll. Jump to the right, aaaaaaaand anime pose.
Dan was dodging these bubbles like he was in an action anime, and so he felt the pose was fitting and entirely necessary.
But, despite Arc missing repeatedly, and the audience having more bubbles in it than in The Little Mermaid by now, HE kept missing too. Which was getting irritating.
He pointed his wand back at Arc. "Mucus Ad Nauseum."
He had to hit eventually. Right?

Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
"OH THAT WAS A SPELL- no, it missed. Shame."
By now, Caradoc had found himself a chair to watch the two students go at it and continue to leave the other unscathed. He really wanted them to do well. But as repetitive as Mr. Perscivious choice of spells was, the same could be said for Mr. Palmer missing his target. The professor would try to give the lads an encouraging smile. Yet by now, he was silently admitting they had much to learn. First years though, they'd get there. Eventually. "Get a bit more creative Mr. Perscivious. This isn't practice hour! Focus on getting at your target. You've got him cornered, now take him out." He'd clench his fist towards the boy as to encourage him on. To go full at it. He then turned his head towards the slytherin. "Mr. Palmer, remember how you aimed wrong. Adjust where necessary! C'mon lads!" He managed to show off a large and bright smile as enthusiasm sparkled inside his eyes. This was going to be it, he could feel it...

EDIT: Apologies for my mistake. It has been brought to my attention that I earlier on in the duel did use a spell DC of 9. This would have Mr. Perscivious succeed in his casting of the Bubble charm and thus Mr. Palmer suffers the effects accordingly. Once more, apologies for any sort of inconvenience.

Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
Missed. Again. For gods sake. Dan began to wonder if the Head of Hufflepuff was getting bored yet. After a quick glance to see if he was asleep, and found that he wasn't, Dan returned focus to Arc.
Why couldn't Arc just hold still and get hit? Honestly. Dan wondered if this would make a good Daithi de Nogla video title; ' First Year Wizard Duel, But Nothing Happens.'
It seemed that Arc finally managed to make his bubbles work. And it only took him 800.935 years to do it. Okay he was exaggerating, but that's the Irish for you. Fortunately, Dan knew how to counter it.
He turned and pointed his wand at the bubbles at point blank range, did the wand motion, and spoke.
"Flipendo!"

Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
Finally. For the love of all things holy, Arc Perscivious finally got what he aimed for. He could relax a little now. It took way longer than what he had predicted, but he managed to finish the second step of his plan nonetheless. The bubbles would forever haunt the young snake and hinder his movement. He was unbelievably quick and nimble, just like an Irish Ninja, and stopping him somehow was crucial. The bubbles were a harmless yet very effective solution to it.
It was not the only reason the young Ravenclaw insisted to use the Bubble-Producing Charm, though. There were multiple layers to the plan. But even if Dan managed to figure it all out, to entangle Arc’s web of plan, it was already too late now. Anyway, it was time for phase three.
"Flipendo," said Arc with a hint of smile.

Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
A lot seemed to happen at once all of a sudden. With Mr. Palmer taking care of the bubbles as he was taught, Mr. Perscivious did not let a moment go to waste. Both jinxes ended up meeting their targets. Which meant for the slytherin that once he got rid of the screen of bubbles, he was greeted with a jinx in his face. The boy got knocked on his back to the end of the stage. A heavy hit it must have been as the large thump of his landing echoed in a unison of gasps among the crowd.
"YESSSSS!" A singular voice cried out from the audience. Professor Browne would be standing up straight with his fist up in the air. He then pointed over to the Ravenclaw. "Perfect attack, Mr. Perscivious. That's the stuff I like to see." He clapped his hands and several students began to clap along. He nodded over to Palmer getting back up his feet and nodded to check if he was ready for the next round. That running nose seemed to still be bad for him. "Lets go!"

Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
The dark-haired boy managed to hit Dan Palmer for another time. Yeah! He was on a roll! His spell would squarely land on his face and the young snake got knockbacked. With a loud thump he landed on the floor. Ouch. That must have hurt! Arc was starting to feel sorry for him.
Well, not sorry enough to stop, though. Unless Dan forfeited, Arc would keep going. And looking at Dan, he did not seem to be the type to give up. So, the Ravenclaw kid did not waste any moment to continue his barrage of spells. He readied the wand on his left hand, moved the wand in the shape of a flame, and chanted, "Incendio."

Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
Welp. That settled it. Settled it beyond any doubt.
Arc was marked for life.
Dan was knocked back just as he'd cleared the bubbles out. He landed with a thud, and decided that as long as he lived, Arc would NEVER be forgiven.
That was a crock of shite and he knew it, Dan wasn't one to hold a grudge for long. He'd hate Arc for a month at most. A month of endless, infinite, unabating hatred.
Dan got back up, rage evident on his face, though the copious snot probably put a damper on the ferocious look.
He pointed his wand at Arc, wiped his nose yet again, and decided to take a page from the dirty bird's book, and do the same thing over and over until it worked.
"Mucus Ad Nausem!"

Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
The head of Hufflepuff narowed his eyes as he noticed the ravenclaw cast incendio. A dangerous spell to use in a duel. One he did not like being used at all, but the rules permitted it. He recalled the Gryffindor from an earlier duel who was left with burnmarks all over his body. It seemed Mr. Perscivious was looking to end this duel.
Mr Palmer on the other side, kept trying to hit his opponent but his spells kept missing their mark. Perhaps the slytherin could use an extra lesson on hitting moving objects. They were young however, and this was simply a way to improve. Doc was sure he'd get there in time.
The fire caught Mr. Palmer's coat and rapidly engulved the lower part of his sleeve. The professor was silently hoping the boy remembered what to do...

Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
Okay. Maybe Dan would make an exception this one time. Just for Arc, he'd hold a grudge for as long as necessary.
Not only did his spell miss -AGAIN- but the little prick decided to light him on fire too.
Yeah, an exception would be made. And when the Dueling Club was truly re-opened, Arc would be getting challenges from Dan. Endlessly. Relentlessly. Until Dan beat him so many times he ends up begging him not to duel anymore. That sounded like the perfect-
Dan banished those thoughts. He was NOT like that. Beating Arc twice if he lost this time would be enough. One to make up for this one, and one to be #1.
The fire normally would make Dan panic a bit, but he kept calm, and pointed his wand at his sleeve.
"Extinguo."

Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
To be completely honest, the dark-haired boy was not enjoying this. He liked challenges. And he liked winning. Like who didn't? But he certainly did not like torture. And this was already skirting that territory. Arc Perscivious realized that this could not go on for much longer. It must not. He had to finish this quickly.
But how could he do that? Dan Palmer had fallen to the Ravenclaw's stratagem and it was starting to pay off. Unfortunately, the third phase of the plan was a slow grind. It was just how it is. Once again, Arc readied his hand and moved his wand. Down, up, and a flick. "Flipendo." The kid said flatly.
