The exchange of various spells continued, some new, some the very previous spells used that were still potent enough to cause damage. The Beauxbatons team, for their part, seemed insistent on the use of Obscuro on Dylan, who'd removed his blindfold barely in the previous round.
But the case seemed to be worse, telepathy perhaps? As Harvey, too, thought it'd be a good idea to target Alejandro with the very same spell that he cast. Did both of them succeed? Also, telepathy, as both screwed up perhaps the whole incantation and wand movement of the spell as the effect backfired.
And then came Dylan's weather-modifying charm, as clouds began gathering above the Beauxbatons team, only as Elisa could feel the team's luck could get worse, Violette's Flipendo too ended as an impaired hit, dragging out all the glory Phelan had brought through a perfect cast of the same spell on Harvey, who seemed to be his target of the game with the countless spells thrown specially to him.

This duel was coming out to be a mess. Why exactly had Dylan been paired with his worst enemy and a girl who had not even been to Ilvermony before and now had a resentment for both himself and Harvey? Dylan did not know why fate did this to him. What he did know was that his head was not in the game.
Dylan would have honestly felt bad for Harvey for getting knocked out if the kid hadn't tried to kill him last year. "Well, down goes wolf boy. I guess it's just you and me, eh princess?"
Princess. Not his most creative nickname, but considering she was the only girl on the team, he thought it suited her.
Dylan turned his attention back to the matter at hand after that. He had a mess to clean up.

Phelan looked up as the dark cloud of Dylan’s weather jinx was beginning to form overhead. Lightning was certainly something to be concerned about.
He was done messing around. Phelan shot a final spell Harvey’s way, and felt a mildly disturbing amount of satisfaction when the jerk went down. Take that, he though with a soft smile.

He'd lured himself into a false sense of security, of course. His hitchless first few spells made him believe, even in just a sliver, that he might be an okay duellist. Who was he kidding? If his father were here, he'd probably nod along like this was an expected beat as the black fabric conjured by his own wand swarmed his vison.
In through his nose, out through his mouth. He might be about to join whoever had just dropped (Harvey, he guessed). This was probably about to really, really hurt. Then if he was lucky his teammates would still be able to reach victory without him, because then at least they might forget he'd laid the mess to land himself in the medical tent. They probably could win without him just fine. Alejandros wouldn't let himself panic visibly, but underneath the blindfold, his eyes were screwed shut.

| —— | This was badly planned. He aimed at Espinosa with the intent to relieve him of the sense that was the most important in duelling. Without sight he could not aim nor dodge very well. Just as he spoke the word the stupid idiot of a fourth year who had previously set him on fire showed up in his peripheral vision. The result was rather embarrassing as it broke his concentration and made him jump. As a result he suddenly found himself blinded instead. It was just great! His arms shot out, both wanting and dreading to grab a hold of something. It was more pure luck than anything else that he almost evaded the spell aimed at him. Blinded, he was none the wiser as he was hit square on and was flung backwards. He landed with a force that could have knocked the breath out of just anyone and his mind went blank as he was knocked out. Just great. | —— |

The game had barely even begun, and already one of the team's members was down, surviving a 3v2. Though luck seemed to be on their side, teamwork came to their aid as the common target became Alejandro, the poor guy who was busy with his blindfold, barely noticing the pair of spells targeted at him.
Though the minor moment of success didn't last long, Beauxbatons ' team, too, went for the same option as spells flew at Dylan, who was just as unfortunate as Alejandro while facing them. Elisa's eye moved around the members; some had barely missed spells while some hadn't even been tested by a single spell. The irony was almost farcical.

Dylan was feeling his energy fading fast. This was not good. Not good at all. At least Alejandros was hit. He didn't look too much better after the wave, but there was still more to come. Dylan knew his downfall was soon to come, but that did not mean he was about to give up. He was going to keep pushing forward. Even if he fell apart.
