She'd have to make it to the second zone without losing her head but the problem was there was a lot of mist. However, she was able to make it to the other side successfully. Harumi and Veda on the other hand decided to stay back to do some tasks but they were unsuccessful. Still the iguanas could not lose hope. They had to keep trying to get the flag.
As she entered the second zone, she saw some creatures approaching her and her teammates. Laasya was really hoping they would be harmless creatures that just wandered around. But she was wrong. The creatures were some monkey thieves that tried to steal their wands. "Get off you brat, haven't you had some bananas or something?" Laasya muttered as the monkey tried to take her wand away. Luckily she was able to keep hers as the lack of a wand would not be pleasant. But Julia and Rose weren't as lucky as the monkeys had run off with their wands before she could even blink. Well, atleast they were all alive. She looked over at the other team. They were all standing like statues. Was that supposed to be their plan? Or were they saving their energy, waiting to pounce later. She had no idea.

Iguana vs. Armadillo
This event is part of the Castelobruxo International Capture the Flag event
26TH OF JUNE, 2026 IN THE JUNGLE ARENA
MODERATION — ROUND TWO.
The sheer horror of what folded before Meiyu's eyes had been enough for her to turn to one of the event organisers from Castlebruxo, her arms raising in utter disapproval of the Armadillo team who stood still and made no movements. "Please discard of those who are standing by and making no movements," she began, her hands swatting away those who observed alongside her. Her gaze diverted to the small group who had watched too, pointing at each one of them and then motioning for their prompt movement to zone four, where they will begin their journey — albeit thrusted into the situation out of their own will. "I hope this new group will bring some action to the useless team." Meiyu commented with a sigh, her attention re-diverting back to the jungle which moved with a mind of its own once more.
This time, zone one had been terrorised with the capuchin monkeys Meiyu grew to adore, zone two with an anaconda that slithered relentlessly through the water and it's surrounding areas, zone three brought a heatwave and zone four a mist. The opposing team, the Iguana's, had been the only ones to manoeuvre through the jungle. Fortunately, @Harumi Everdane, had been unaffected by the monkeys and fixated on setting a trap successfully in their home base. Diverting the binoculars into zone two, @Skylar Astor, had been engulfed by the anaconda, rendering her useless until she escaped — a dire situation to find herself in after failing to also set a trap, likely to have been engulfed mid-process.
The remaining team who manoeuvred through the jungle and made their way into zone three, whilst team Armadillo remained in their home base with replacements on their way, were struck with the heatwave. One in particular, @Zephyr Deakin, would find the conditions to be too much for him — his fast movements combined with the blazing heat likely brought symptoms of early heatstroke.
Meiyu diverted her binoculars once more, noting a particular participant, @Cirrus Mooney, spotting team Armadillo's flag in the base. It was only a matter of moments before they would take their victory given how easy the other team had made it for them, minus the two who had actually bothered to make movements throughout the game. A frown took place on Meiyu's expression, disheartened by the lack of offensive actions taking place, yet, a small part of her hoped that the substitutes she had tossed in as though a football club manager would bring some movement as the game progressed further.

HOW TO PLAY
The game ends when either team successfully retrieved the other teams flag to their base. Team Iguana will be starting the game in Zone 1 and Team Armadillo will be in Zone 4 at the opposite end of the arena. There will be at most 10 rounds, each requiring a post of 200+ words. Please make sure you include your character's stats in your post.
During the first round only, each team must state which zone their flag is hidden in to the thread moderator. You may chose to hide the flag in any of the 4 zones. The flag remains in that zone unless successfully discovered or moved through gameplay mechanics. Do not reveal in game where the flag is located.
Each round, everyone in the team must make at least one action from the Capture the Flag actions list, unless they are unable to act due to a status effect or restriction. These actions are zone dependent. The team scores points by making successful flag actions or interceptive actions towards a flag carrier. Please note that players may only move between adjacent zones and cannot skip zones while travelling.
At the conclusion of each round, the zone state map will be updated to reflect all player locations. Players may only target characters who are in the same zone as them at the end of the previous round. If a target moves out of the zone during the following movement phase, the action automatically fails, with the exception of Flag Intercept and non-magical support actions that include a chase mechanic. When performing these actions, the player automatically follows the target into the destination zone as part of the interaction.
If the action fails while chasing, the pursuing player is left behind in the original zone while the target successfully gains distance.
Rules regarding roll resolution, action priority, and other game mechanics can be found HERE.
At least one member of the team must owl the entire teams' action list to @Meiyu Xiang before the posting deadline.

Mistakes had been made. This was a thought Ros had most days of his life, like he'd gone permanently wrong somewhere about a decade ago, but this one felt kind of disastrous, at least in the moment. He'd come out into the jungle depths to support Rina, because she was doing this capture the flag thing. He definitely wasn't. It was humid and dirty and intimidating in here, and he stood close to the adults with his arms hugged to his body, though he tried to look unconcerned. Ros was really trying not to get lost or eaten today, but apparently the game moderator had no care for his efforts. She pointed at him and on a delay he pointed at himself, parsing through the English. He knew what this was, though. More sacrifices to the game since the last ones weren't entertaining.
Ros' steps out into the game area were tentative. Slow. Clearly unenthusiastic. Capture the flag could possibly be a fun game, if he was with Rina and on less dangerous terrain. He was going to trip, make a fool of himself, and then die, probably. He glanced warily at his newfound teammates, then looked back at the root-covered ground, the lingering curls of mist. If he didn't think the game moderator would yell at him, he'd find a tree to hide behind.

After some time, the monkeys finally ran away, either they’re bored that they failed to steal anything from him or distracted by something else deeper in the jungle. Zephyr breathed out loudly feeling relieved that they left him alone. Taking that short moment to catch his breath, he lowered his hand and his wand allowing his body to relax for a bit. “Everyone alright?” he shouted over his shoulder, though he doubted they would hear his voice that far with the sound of nearby waterfall which was drowning out most sounds.
There was no reason to stop now. They were all committed to their plans. The river disappeared behind him as the ground gradually rose. With every step he took, he noticed the air was also changing. At first he welcomed it, thinking it’s just left the damp chill of the mist behind. But after a few minutes he finally realised how wrong he was. The heat settled like a heavy blanket over the jungle. Sweat rolled down the side of his face, and every breath he took was becoming heavier and uncomfortable.
There was not much enough wind which made the air stale and suffocating. Even for someone like him who spent years working under the summer heat on their family’s farm was not prepared for heat like this. There’s always an open field back home, cold coming from the hills, and river to cool down. Here, the jungle seemed to trap every bit of warmth and refuse to let it escape. He wiped his forehead with the back of his sleeve but kept walking.
After some time, his legs began to feel heavier and his breathing became noticeably quicker, despite the pace he was keeping. He stopped beside a tree and use his free hand to put it against the bark as support while he catch his breath. Something’s wrong. His head started pounding and the sight of the trees blurred for a brief moment before coming back into focus. It was followed by a wave of dizziness which forced him to shut his eyes for a while as he tried to recover. He swallowed hard, only now noticing how dry his throat became. It seemed he pushed himself too hard.
He took his time for he knew charging carelessly would only make things worse. He forced himself to breathe evenly as he searched for whatever shade the trees could offer. There was no point pretending he was fine when he’s obviously not. He just hoped the others made it through in better shape than he was.

Iguana vs. Armadillo
Posting for NPC Kylian
Who was Kylian? An excellent question that he wished more people would ask. He was French. He was not the incredible futbol player of the same name, but just give him a decade or two. He wasn't used to this heat or this humidity and had never heard so many sounds of nature all in one place at one time -- this field was nothing like a futbol field. He liked capture the flag, but he'd missed the sign-up due to forgetfulness. Personal failures of rembrance aside, today was his lucky day, his ticket to play hand-delivered by a bunch of students masquerading as statues. And that meant he got to take the field, quickly passing one of his classmates from Beauxbâtons, Alejandros, who looked far more ready to cower than to win. Leave it to Kylian, he'd put on a show.
"Come on!" he yelled in his best English. "Let us not lose this!" Truthfully, he didn't like their chances. They had him now, yes, but none Team Armadillo had even left their starting zone. There was a whole game out there and they were just missing it! He tossed his voice once more over his shoulder. "Let's go!" Capture the flag, much like futbol, was not a solo effort, and he hoped he would not be the only one to try to turn this into a real game.

Veda sighed in relief as she noticed Harumi didn’t get distracted. At least, not by her. The fellow hufflepuff was also struggling, but Veda knew that she didn't have time to go and help her. At least, not for now. Instead, Veda began her trek to the next zone, as the team had agreed that “if she couldn’t find the flag, she should move up to help.” However, as Veda trekked through the jungle, she saw a flash of green.
The words of a random student of Castelbruxo during the feast ran through Veda’s mind. She had, ashamedly, been eavesdropping on a pair of students from the rainforest school, hoping to get some hints. ”Snake,” Veda whispered to herself, and that's when the anaconda struck.
The green reptile tried its best to wrap around the second year girl, but either due to her strength (which Veda doubted) or the sheer amount of adrenaline pumping through her body, Veda managed to shove it off and run for her life. Granted, she almost fell flat on her face after stumbling on a root. Veda finally emerged into the clearing, which she could only hope was zone two. However, after spotting @Julia Evans, Veda became sure that she didn’t accidentally leave the arena and get disqualified.
She quickly walked forward and was about to take a breather until she heard a yell from @Cirrus Mooney. Veda knew what that meant, as Cirrus had been on the task of spotting the flag in zone two. Veda rushed over, and murmured to herself, ”No way.” And there it was. Waving in the nonexistent wind, was the other team's flag.

"Little pests" Laasya muttered as the monkeys finally ran away, with Julia and Rose's wands. She'd say a hundred of swears at the monkeys but she was here to play the game, not constantly yell at other creatures annoying as they may be. In order to prevent anything else from attacking them, she had decided to go to Zone 3. "Good luck everyone! The flora and fauna in this place is insane!" Laasya called out to her teammates before moving on. The other team still did not move at all and the girl was seriously wondering if they had been stunned.
As soon as she made it into Zone 3, the first thing she recieved was hot air in the face. It looked as if there was a heatwave in the zone. "Oh my, it's burning in this place!" Laasya exclaimed as she tried to fan herself. Oh she would loved a lovely popsicle or even a bottle of water to cope with the heat. But somehow, she had managed to keep herself well. Then her eyes widened. The heat had gone to Zephyr and based on his expression, he was very close to fainting. God this game was becoming tense, even when the opposing team did not do anything.

This time the girl didn't look at trees or question their thoughts as if they had any, she focused on the trap, she needed to, after all, she must do it for her team, otherwise she would have stayed here doing absolutely nothing while her team did all the work, she can't have that, no no.
----And it seemed that her fear of failure was strong enough that she didn't fail again, she manged to make an actually working trap, she wanted to test it, but triggering it didn't seem like a good idea, so she just double checked that it looks just like she imagined, which it did, theoretically this is a working trap, but Harumi wasn't so sure of the practical aspect, she's not in the habit of making traps and testing them randomly, and she can't recall a time where she made one and saw it in action.
----Finally done with her impossible mission, she sits by a tree resting for a bit, she'll have to stand up and do something eventually but the trap took her a while, and she deserved to relax for a moment.
----She couldn't see any of her team around, they must have proceeded to the other zones, did they find the flag? Did they catch it? Are they fighting their way through enemies to come back to the base? The girl didn't know, but she will eventually, when her team is back.
