Humphrey was no ordinary boy. No, he was the great, the amazing, the incredible, Sir Humphrey D’Ogwarts.
And, of course, the great Humphrey does not run from jaguars! They run from him! Usually.
In all honesty and sincerity, Humphrey’s day was not going terribly well. To begin with, he wasn’t quite certain how he had managed to get himself roped into playing a children’s game like Capture the Flag, let alone in a space so uncivilised as to have such ill-mannered felines. As the game had begun, he had stood idly for a moment, intending to poke around a little for the opponents’ flag, just so that he, Humphrey, could claim the rightful glory as the winner of this game. Unfortunately, before he could begin in his heroic intention, he was suddenly met with such all-consuming pain the likes of which he had never felt before in his entire, troubled and difficult life. A scratch! On his, noble, leg!
Sprinting away as quickly as his nearly fatally injured legs could take him, Humphrey rushed into the second zone, breathing heavily from exertion. In fact, Humphrey would have very much liked a well deserved break. But no! Fate would not afford the poor boy even that!
Instead, as he followed three “teammates” who had chosen to exit their team-base, he was utterly horrified to see the biggest snake he had ever laid eyes upon. Thankfully, the beast seemed to recognise his own greatness and, more politely than that dreadful cat, was willing to slink away into the undergrowth. Humphrey nodded at the animal as it passed.
“How kind of you three to lower yourselves before me,” Humphrey graciously thanked the three immobilised students, “But there is no need. After all, we are in a competition!”

After some effort, we arrived into Zone 2.
Something felt.. off. I noticed it before the others did. Well, not because I saw it but because I felt it.
That shift in the air. The way everything seemed to tighten just slightly, like the jungle itself was holding its breath. My gaze flicked to the riverbank and I saw it.
Coiled. Massive. Watching.
Of course.
"You might want to be careful here" I signalled to the rest of the group, tilting my head in direction of the giant Anaconda.
But when its head turned, when its eyes locked onto mine I knew.
The hiss cut cleanly through the forest- it was speaking to me, something about staying away
I held its steady gaze, not once taking my eyes off it, (Tes is now speaking parseltongue) "I'd stay away if I want to" I continued, “We’re not here for you.”
The words left my mouth in a controlled way. And in a way, it reminded me of Medusa and how much I missed her back in Nottingham.
Its body shifted slightly, tightening, assessing, "Just let us pass"
For a second, I thought it might work. The serpent stilled.
Then it struck.
Too fast.
I tried to hold my arm so that Tina wouldn't pass. Not that I cared if she died but we needed the whole team. She still went through and the snake immobilised her quickly.
One by one, the snake controlled every member, its body wrapping around everyone before I could step back.
So much for negotiation.
I didn’t scream when it was my turn, "Well isn't that kind of you" I replied sarcastically with the remaining air I had.
Wrong choice
Then it released me just as suddenly, dropping me beside Salim like I was nothing more than something it had tested and dismissed.
I didn’t move immediately.
My chest burned, lungs dragging air back in slowly, painfully. Every muscle ached, ribs screaming where the serpent has coiled. It didn't show it though
I was conscious, and that was enough.
I turned my head slightly, eyes finding the riverbank again, searching for any sign it might come back but it was gone. Completely gone
(back to english)
“I told you to stay away” My voice was quieter now, edged with something colder than before, “Anyways I tried to reason but it didn't work”
Then I stood up, my jaw clenching. This wasn't really my fault.
Everything here was hunting, “Next time,” I muttered, more to myself than anyone else, “I won’t ask.”
Because clearly in this jungle it was the law of the strongest

We were welcomed by dense thicket of trees, hardly any sunlight penetrating through. This part of the forest was darker than zone 4. It was filled with crooked trees with intersecting branches. I glanced around cautiously, in hopes that we don't get attacked by anything. The dark could hardly ever spook me, but this place gave me a sense of uncertainty. I bet one could get lost in here for days, or perhaps weeks.
Suddenly, I felt the pressure drop and it started pouring, quite heavily. Well, they call this a rainforest for a reason don't they. In a matter of seconds, I was completely drenched. It was raining so heavily I could barely see anything. I pushed my dripping hair away from my face as I braced myself against the strong winds. Soon, the forest started flooding, the water was ankle deep, completely drenching my boots. Ughh... I hate wet footwear. I knew I had to find some shelter, even though it won't prove to be that useful. I quickly rushed towards the trees and held on tight to one of the branches. It wasn't the best solution but atleast I wasn't getting lost or stuck somewhere in the forest. I stood there waiting for the rain to slow down. I wonder how the others are getting along?

The quartet of first year sloths moved towards the third zone, clambering out of the mire that held their base and into the trees. As if by magic - quite possibly because it was magic - no sooner had they done so than the sky opened and torrential rain began to pour down atop them. Henry had heard of rainforests, but this was ridiculous. It was hard enough for one to keep one's footing with all the underbrush as it was, without worrying about the ground beneath you suddenly having about as much traction as your average ice rink!
Despite the boy typically being quite adept at getting himself out of tight spots when they arose, the gods of the jungle and chance clearly were not with him on this particular day. Because try as he might to catch his footing in the slippery mud, it was not enough. With one wrong step, down he went.
BAM!
Right on his back. His breath left him in a rush and he had to lay there for a moment just for his lungs to adjust to the shock. Rain pelted him in the face, causing him to blink and try to wipe the stinging wetness from his eyes. Wet clay seeped into his hair, and he didn't want to think about what sorts of creepy crawlies were likely assessing the strands as a new potential habitat. Still, he took a moment.
Thankfully for him, the itch he did feel at the back of his head wasn't a centipede or a spider or worse, but the intuitive sense that somewhere back in zone 4, the muggleborn was the topic of discussion. "My Spidey-Senses are tingling..." He muttered under his breath, utterly unaware of the serendipitous nature of the phrase.Action: As Strategized

Perhaps Dahlia's decision to dismiss the presence of wildlife had been heard by the local fauna. As soon as she heard the strategy, the girl immediately began examining her environment. The girl saw mostly greenery which she took as a good sign. However, she doubted the other team would have chosen to hide their flag in Team Spider Monkey's base or, if they had, someone ought to have noticed a rustle in the bushes at the very least. "What are you waiting for?" She turned towards Ophelia as to see whether her zone partner was ready to head out.
Despite the Gryffindor's mental abilities Dahlia had a poor track record when it came to her physical surroundings. She existed more so in her mind than in her physical form and, hence, when the jaguar struck, she was more concerned with designing a trap against the other team than the presence of an animal of pray in her vicinity.
A blood-curdling scream escaped Dahlia's lips as the jaguar's claws pierced her left arm. She flinched, grabbing the wound with her free hand as to apply pressure in case of bleeding. Whether jaguars were as attracted to fresh blood as sharks were Dahlia did not know. However, in this moment, she desired nothing less than an opportunity to find out for herself.
The witch's feet, luckily, were faster than her brain and immediately broke into a sprint towards the second zone. She cast a glance over her shoulder, expecting Ophelia to follow suit once she saw Dahlia running. She paled as she saw the jaguar reach for her ankle, calling, "Watch out!" as if that would help the situation. Luckily, it seemed as if her housemate escaped without fatal injury.
Her escape eventually landed her with the toes of her shoes up against the water. Hm. With the narrow route of roots and stones up ahead, the lagoon seemed like the perfect location to set a trap. Balancing with one foot in front of the other on a raised root, Dahlia began searching for the materials she required: one deceptively sturdy, flat rock and another, smaller stone to place beneath it. The rock would look like a sturdy place to put one's weight from a distance. However, it would be precariously balancing on another, smaller stone, causing the rock to tip unless one steps perfectly in the middle.

As Danielle continued her trek, the oppressive fog finally cleared up, as her cautious steps led her far from the hidden trench. Gradually, the shapes of trees began to become visible once more until finally, she escaped from the oppressive fog.
Almost instantly, the weather greeted her with a new problem.
A constant downpour of rain fell from the treetops above, soaking everything it touched. It fell upon large leaves and then slid off of them to land on the soggy ground. Danielle's hands went to brush off the water droplets from her hair, releasing an annoyed breath as the rain drenched her robes within seconds.
At least she could see now.
She searched the jungle until she saw the familiar shapes of other Sloths moving along the flooded landscape. Danielle felt a wave of relief wash over her as she recognized her teammates and moved on in the same way, careful not to slip in the mud.
"I'm here," she said above the sound of the pouring rain, giving a small smile when she caught up with them.
The jungle was unforgiving, exchanging one test for the other, but Danielle was not going to be deterred by anything.first year stats:

Spider Monkey vs. Sloth

The game soon began, this was way bigger than any muggle capture the flag she had ever played, she was quite excited for the magic aspect to the game.
Fawkes, Henry, Avery and herself headed straight for the next zone. She was glad they had decided to leave in groups, as going alone would have not been wise stragically. They entered the zone to be welcomed by a thick forest. The branches of the trees made it almost impossible to see ahead and the fog only made it worse. Olivia walked close to the others not wanting to loose her footing and fall into the water which was hard to ignore. As the loud gushing of water was all around them.
It could be worse, she thought to herself, but it seemed as though she spoke too soon as the clouds drew closer and heavy rain began to fall. Olivia sighed, this was near impossible she was beginning to get soaked to the core. She did like rain but not when it was coupled up with a competitive game. She looked at the others, "we should try and find some sort of shelter or make an umbrella," she suggested gesturing over to the leaves. It couldn't be that hard could it?
