Feast and Fire
This is the first time she step her foot far from where her home was in East Leake or her mum's country home in Brynamman. Millie spent her last seasonal vacation doing something else and for this time too, she actually planned to go just back home. However, when she heard Castelobruxo is place where she can see much more natural space she always dreamed for going in, she can't help but postponed her coming home. And the result, Millie doesn't regret her decision to come here per se.
It was just surprising for her with what she just saw the first time she step foot here, Castelobruxo, the Amazonian place where almost flora and fauna life to be interdependent. She even wondered if she can live here forever, but well, she already know the answer that's why it only emerged from deep of her mind.
As the headmaster announced the feast and the fire dance, atmosphere become more lively. Excited. Impatient. Millie casually have one of the dishes that looked foreign yet most tempting while she just realizing if there also students from another schools and countries beside Hogwarts. See. It's already looked promising and don't forgetting the main event that will be held, this surely will become more lively with these much people coming here and participating.

Feast and Fire

| CV | 25TH OF JUNE, 2026 IN THE OUTSIDE PAVILION
Santiago had expected to see a few familiar faces among the guests, particularly a Russian director who he was yet to spot in the pavilion. As the guests progressively poured in and claimed the seats, his gaze would lift and watch them approach from afar. The foreign students would gape around the grounds and at the nearby waterfall in awe of their surroundings and uncharted territory. At the sight, Santiago’s lips would subtly twitch. It was nice that things they were so used to were being appreciated. One girl was dragging her luggage with her, which made Santi wonder with a crease between his brows what kind of hospitality they offered if their guests had to haul suitcases around the grounds. It was unacceptable, the Headmaster decided and summoned an elf to immediately take the burden off her hands. Once the elf had appeared at his side, he shifted in his seat and inclined his head, enough to say in a low murmur, “Please, ask her if she needs assistance,” nodding towards the older girl. After a polite, deep bow, the elf approached @Guinevere Russetwood and offered to store the luggage for her and have it delivered to her maloca once the feast was over. Trusting that the situation was properly handled without his intervention, Santiago resumed watching people. While it was entertaining to watch the children’s reactions, and mildly concerning when he was forced to handle issues retroactively—issues that shouldn’t have been issues to begin with, he was mostly anticipating the adult company. Where he’d expected to see the charming, white-haired Russian come waltzing down the path with his signature theatrical flourish, Santiago’s whole body froze, stomach caught in his throat, when he saw a face he hadn’t expected to see ever again. Of all the improbable configurations of fate, he had not accounted for someone from his intimate past standing in the pavilion of the school he ran, least of all the doctor from Germany. He had heard rumours of a new Headmaster, but he had not once imagined @Arkady Piecyk in the role. Until this moment, he would have called it impossible. For a fleeting second, he could not even recall whether Arkady had ever been a wizard at all. Few things reached him with enough force to disturb his composure; this came dangerously close. Only one revelation still held unquestioned first place in that regard—the existence of his daughter, a truth he had not yet fully recovered from, no matter how carefully he performed otherwise. Thankfully, after years practising the art of restraint, at least publicly, his sudden meeting with the skeletons buried deep in his past was largely undocumented for public viewing. His indifferent expression might fool the guests, yet he tracked Arkady’s every movement like a predator watching its prey, all the way up to his seat. Not once had his old acquaintance made any indications of recognition. If so, he imagined the reaction wouldn’t have been quite as controlled. Once Santiago stood up to deliver his speech, however, it would have been impossible to disregard him any longer, unless the unlikely possibility that their brief past had been lost in history. With the way it had ended, perhaps leaving it in the past– forgotten— would have been better than the consequences of opening that ancient can of worms. Facing the actions of his younger, more reckless self had never been his strong suit, already feeling squeamishly uncomfortable at the mere thought of having to revisit his past behavior. Anything he’d said or done had come from a place of authenticity, so could he really have been wrong? After a confidently executed welcome, he sat down, acting as if unfazed by the person who sat next to him. Except for the view of ink-adorned skin in his peripheral vision when he reached for his glass of refreshments, Santi spared him no glance that could invite conversation. Although he couldn’t distinguish the imagery, he could conclude that those were new, since he couldn’t remember seeing any tattoos on Arkady’s body when they last saw each other… seven years ago. Essentially, it didn’t matter now, though the irking curiosity to ask what else changed lingered in his mind. The desire to converse, or the lack thereof, seemed mutual; his ex-fling turned to entertain the person to his left, meanwhile Santiago had to maintain structure and order for his students and guests. One of the Castelobruxo students that had volunteered to participate in the fire-dancing strode up to his table. An icy gaze fixed on him as she commented on the preparations. It was difficult to tell whether the disguised compliment was sincere behind her unimpressed stoic expression, though few others her age could match her ambition to contribute. For that alone, he respected her enough to disregard attitude. She had, after all, tried to be helpful through the preparations. Despite being too young to carry any significant responsibility, Santi trusted the tasks that were handed to her to be handled properly. However, she couldn’t have arrived at his table at a more inconvenient time. Regardless of his emotional state, it was expected of him to remain professional in front of his students, not to mention the student body of several other schools that had decided to visit. Shoving away any irritation over his situation, Santiago responded in turn, “Boa noite, Naiane. The fire-dancing will begin during the first course. I hope you and the other dancers will be ready,” he said, nodding once in acknowledgement. That should suffice. With the faintest hint of a smile, the girl turned on her heel, his eyes following her movement as he turned briefly to advise @Paul Turner on alpaca handling, even if the boy had done reasonably well so far. His attempt to lure one of the more social alpacas, Carminha, with an apple was sabotaged when @Skylar Blue snuck up behind him and tried to startle his friend. She did not only startle the boy. In response, Carminha made a sudden leap-like movement, then danced across the patch in her usual, almost theatrical enthusiasm. The promise of apples and carrots, however, kept drawing her back in. His advice about keeping food away from the animals seemed to have fallen on deaf ears. Then again, he had expected little else from a group of curious children. While the other guests had begun enjoying their food, Santi was still focused on the scene by the alpacas. Attention elsewhere, he registered being addressed with only one ear. "Santiago. It's good to see you again." “Mm,” he hummed absently, before turning back to his seat neighbour, who offered him a saccharine smile that did not quite strike him as genuine. As luck would have it, Arkady had chosen this evening to acknowledge him, which Santi supposed was inevitable. Santiago’s gaze dropped to the performative curve of his smile, then lifted again as he studied the intent behind his expression. Ever so slightly, he leaned closer. “Is it?” he asked and flashed a small, disarming smile. “I wasn’t sure if you intended to acknowledge me at all this evening.” It wasn’t really meant as an accusation, and he hoped his tone made the distinction between investigation and simple curiosity clear. If Arkady still knew him at all after all this time, it should not come to any surprise that he’d already mapped his behavior before even opening his mouth. Old habits die hard, he supposed. Santi wasn’t delusional. He knew that his way of ending things back in the day hadn’t always been fair to the others involved, even if he had never meant to hurt anyone. For some reason, he could not shake the suspicion that Arkady had neither forgotten nor forgiven the manner of his departure. He did not know who he was trying to fool by pretending otherwise. “North America, then? That’s a surprise. I didn’t think you’d ever leave Germany, but we can save that story for another time.” Offering a sincere smile, his hand grazed the younger man’s arm in a friendly gesture. Leaving no room for argument, Santi turned his physical attention away from the man beside him and clinked his class to gather everyone’s attention. “And now, the fire dancing,” he announced as he sought eye-contact with @Naiane Tomari, @Eden Lorenz-Alves and the other fire-dancers. The music started shortly after, after giving them a few seconds to set fire to their staffs and get into proper position in the middle of the pavilion. Pan flutes and heavy drums filled the space in rhythmic Andean folk music, and the fire-dancing could finally begin. |

She was not used to such large gatherings. While the Headmaster’s speech had been formal in tone, Denisse caught him joking with others about his fire-dancing abilities. Others had laughed, but Denisse had only managed a faint smile, using her fingers to stroke Katya’s fur.
She watched the students as they ate, finally taking a forkful of the causa limeña that had been placed before her. The dish was unfamiliar, but different ways of preparing food that Denisse had never tasted before had always been interesting to her. She took a bite and savored the flavor, finding it both different from the meals she was used to in the village, but also interesting all the same.
Beyond the pavilion, the alpacas were grazing peacefully. Denisse almost laughed at the sight of two students attempting to coax one closer to them, only to be told by Santiago not to spit near the alpaca. If only the alpaca wandered into the dinner tables, she thought, Katya would likely be hissing at them in annoyance.
Denisse glanced toward the horizon where the sky was ablaze with orange and violet lights. Katya purred against Denisse’s lap, and Denisse smiled. Whatever challenges tomorrow’s games would bring, tonight was enough.

The young Ilvermorny teenager bounced on her toes as she looked around the outside pavilion. Her green eyes lit up in happiness as she took in the Brazilian magical school. The grounds here looked absolutely magical … no pun intended … and very beautiful. While she wasn’t an artist at all, she took great appreciation of the aesthetics. It looked like something her bestie would be interested in drawing, a fact that she’d have to remember to tell her bestie at some point. After all, it was purely amazing.
To be quite frank, Devon was always happy to travel to other wizarding schools. Castelobruxo was no exception. While she loved Ilvermorny, it was still great to see other schools, as well. Most of the time, when she traveled overseas, it was to broom race … or to attend a ball. And yet, there were plenty of times she played other sports, as well. She didn’t travel for the sports, however. Her travels were to experience international cultures. The differences were always nice to see!
Yet, there was also another reason why Devon liked to travel to these different schools. And it was one she didn’t enjoy thinking about for long. Her no-Maj family lived in an apartment in New York City … not that far from Central Park. Not to mention, she was the youngest child in her family. Her family wasn’t exactly rich. They were basically middle-class … and yet, they weren’t flowing with money. Trips out of the United States were nonexistent for that reason. Furthermore, her parents were usually busy with work. Sure, she had her older brothers and sister, who were often very helpful, but even they couldn’t replace everything.
Nonetheless, for her reason to be at the Brazilian school of magic, Deven was happy to have this experience … and at the young ripe age of fourteen! Whenever she took one of these trips, her first and foremost desire was to make friends. Unfortunately, her track record was rather mixed in that regard. But, she had met her best friend, Kaitlyn, at Hogwarts on one of these trips. So, not everything was a loss.
The Horned Serpent was seated at one of the tables, eating the Causa Limeña. ‘This is so delicious! The potato with the crab and avocado. I love having international food!’ She observed with a smile crossing her lips. As she swallowed, she heard the announcement of fire dancing. The second the music began … a certain folk music she had never heard before … her heartstrings bounced in her chest, her thought of playing her violin itched in her mind. She clapped, as she observed students standing to dance.

It would be a blatant lie for Ellaine to say that she had expected the sheer humidity and warmth that greeted her upon her arrival at Castelobruxo. It still caught her by surprise, even though she knew well that Brazilian rainforests were not places where one expects the air to be cool and breezy. At least, she consoled herself, it wasn’t going to randomly backtrack on its weather… it could only be hot, rainy, even rainier, or… all of the above, she supposed.
Thankfully, the sweltering air thinned out into a cooler temperature as the sun was sinking below. Clear skies allowed her to grace upon her eyes the sight of sunsets bleeding across the sky, which complimented the (absolutely colossal) waterfall rather nicely. She wouldn’t even touch the topic of the golden pyramid she was staring at. A Mayan temple, was what she thought it was – it was featured in a comic book she’d read, once. She wanted to dig this memory into her mind – if she was a photographer, she’d take a picture; if a painter, then she’d draw up a painting; but since she was neither of them, she settled for etching every detail into her mind.
Of course, that meant she had to include the actual gathering space as well. It was hard to ignore the tables and chairs clustered all around her. Sometime ago, she’d ventured close enough to one of them to make out various foods, some notably stranger to her. Perhaps she’d sample some later in the night…
While the picturesque views themselves were fascinating, the crowds were an entirely different story. Her skin bristled with a vague discomfort as she clutched her satchel, eyes flickering somewhere between annoyance, shyness, and being lost. Really, she already missed the familiarity of Hogwarts. Her hands started to feel oddly sweaty, but she managed to convince herself that it was just the weather.
Her parents had been beyond enthusiastic when she had chosen to take part in an international event. Though they'd been reluctant to let her go alone all the way to Brazil, what with her only being twelve, but— Magic existed, she had assured her parents. And of course, she had to tell them about her close friends who were also attending. Now, just where were they?
A glimmer of distinctive blue retreating from the clusters of tables and chairs caught her eye. Skylar? thought she, and Ellaine hastened to trail behind her, weaving past students and people along the way. Their destination were soon clear, and a smile popped up on her face as she recognised the other student as well— clad in green cloak, was none other than Paul. Delighted, she rejoiced upon finding that someone else also carried a cloak with them!
Skylar snuck up on him, and Ellaine could just make out what she said. It startled a quiet laugh out of her, not the least because she finally noticed that he had been trying to feed an alpaca apples. Madness— what if they had spat at you? They were lucky, she supposed, that the alpaca was kind enough to only run away. Realising that now would probably be the best time to, ah— stop embodying the life of a statue, she tugged her cloak (enchanted specifically against the Brazilian weather, courtesy of her mother) around herself, drawing closer to the two of them.
“I’d sure hope so! What would become of me, then?” Tilting her head to look at the apple in his hand, then the alpaca who had run away… A thought struck her, and she dug inside her satchel for her pocket knife, offering it for him. “Maybe they’ll come back if we have more?” she joked, feeling all the more at ease now that she was with her friends.⋅- ⋅-⋅⋅ ⋅⋅ ⋅⋅⋅- ⋅

There was a boy sat next to her, one from Hogwarts, she judged by his uniform. He didn’t seem very British to her though, more Asian, maybe Chinese? She directed her glare towards him as he opened his mouth to speak. She wasn’t here to meet people, let alone make new friends.

“What’s got you so tense?” he asked, a teasing note in his voice. Kira rolled her eyes, luckily her mother wasn’t here to see her acting this way. God knows what kind of punishment that would have resulted in.
“Is the steak…” he seemed to search for the right word. In any case, english didn’t seem to be his first language. It wasn’t her’s either so it was a bit hypocritical for her to judge but she wasn’t about to let it stop her. “…overseasoned, or what?” Was he mocking her?
She gave a sarcastic smile, “I’ll have you know that the steak is quite…” she drifted off, dramatically drifting her eyes to the ceiling and imitating his earlier hesitation, “outstanding.” She decided it would be fun to play up the foreigner act a bit, just for the sake of it. “It’s actually a very common dish back in France.” she had never mispronounced words from one language when speaking another and wasn’t about to start doing so now. “Steak frites, steak with fries, though it isn’t considered very ‘high class’.”

Feast and Fire
Paul knew he was about to share a Maloca with El, Sky and a girl whom he hadn't spoken to yet, although he probably met her at some of the classes, at events and, generally, around Hogwarts. One of those who travelled all the way to Brazil from Great Britain, and came to this feast, had to be her, Paul assumed. He believed she was the girl who would most often hang around Skylar, whom he often watched at school. Her blue hair was just... out-standing, he forced himself to believe deliberately. But that wasn't all that he figured out about the mysterious girl; she was also friends with Robin Lockett and she was also part of the opposing team in the second capture-the-flag event he ever participated in.
There was also a boy and a girl he played football with on the grounds once, a ginger girl who was part of the Bludger Brigade - his team in an unofficial Quidditch match by Tatiana. And that was about it; the rest of those present, he hadn't met before.
There's, however, a good chance you haven't recognized someone, Paul, for you're too far from the dining space, thought the realistic part of his mind. Paul had to agree with its opinion.
One of the alpacas wandered away, towards the pavilion, and Paul followed it for a moment with his eyes. The animal was smart, coming closer to a person who seemed to be interested (@Skylar Astor). And then, something happened. The llama probably spat at the girl or did something the girl disliked. She just looked like it.
Paul turned to the llama that stayed, grimacing. "Eh, I'm hopeful ya won't do that to me, bro. I mean, it would surely be great to have a shower in this warm weather, but not a saliva shower."
“... I suggest cutting that”
Came a girl's voice, the source of which he immediately turned to, looking at @Naiane Tomarani. "Oh... alright." Before he drew his wand to perform the charm she spoke about though, Paul realised he couldn't do the Severing Charm yet, and nor did he have a knife on him. So he blushed in embarrassment, listening to a further set of Naiane's instructions and recommendations.
"Uhm... will keep that in mind." Paul nodded, as he kept holding the apple awkwardly, looking at it, then the llama, and then the apple again. "Thanks for the advice. So, it's cool to feed them the same fruit as horses?"
Good, just, please, don't tell her you don't have a knife and can't perform the spell, Paul. What will she think of you? That you're incapable to perform the easy severing charm and that you're just a kiddo who doesn't normally have a knife on them. Both are bad enough.
“If you care to meet the others, you should attend our gathering tomorrow,”
Turner smiled with a large smile then, nodding eagerly. "There's a gathering? Whoa! I'd love that! Are you throwing it? You're local? Dumb question. You know the llamas, of course you're local..." Geez, stop speaking now. Besides, you wanted to go to the Sky Routes, remember? That can wait though. Anything that's not a living, breathing creature can wait. The local animals are the most exciting!
When @Skylar Blue grabbed his shoulders and shook him, he was startled. Don't get him wrong, but the peace of having only a pair of animals to pay attention to, was rather violently disturbed by Blueberry, so there was no wonder that his face was utterly horrified when he turned around to face her.
Although Paul usually anticipated surprises of all kinds and often managed to evade any playful and less playful attacks, it happened time to time that he completely missed the person approaching, due to being distracted or engaged in interaction with another person, or the fact that there was grass on the ground, which had the unique ability to muffle people's footsteps, and not hearing their steps.
"Boo! Trying to replace me with a group of alpacas, Turner? I think not!"
"Huh?!" Forced out the boy, confused, as he was trying to figure out who it was scaring him like that. Her blue hair gave her in immediately. "Jesus, Blueberry!" Paul exclaimed dramatically, his palm firing up to his chest. "You scared the... jungle out of me, and... uh!" He tried to get back from the potential route of leaping Carminha, hence the final huffing. "I'm not the only one!"
Paul grimaced after that, narrowing his eyes at her and showing her with his index finger and middle finger that he was watching her. "As for the replacing, that depends... if you don't behave, I might ask the llama to share a Maloca with us instead." Joked the boy, the corners of his lips twitching.
@Ellaine Weatherby appeared nearby, and Paul's attention partly went to to her. "Hey... nice cloak." He smiled, gesturing to her upper piece of clothing.
“Maybe they’ll come back if we have more?”
Paul came up with a smack of his lips. "Hm... the local girl who was here suggested that it should be cut and peeled too. According to her, the core should be removed too." He looked to the place where Naiane, then the alpaca had left, rubbing the place behind his ear and shrugging, as if he was deciding what to do. "Alright, let's do it then. The llama might be coming back."
“And now, the fire dancing,” Came @Santiago Peralta 's statement, and Paul looked at the Pavilion. He narrowed his eyes in a vain attempt to focus his sight on what was happening inside. "Whoa... I think I wanna see that, guys. Shall we go inside? We can come back later." Which is very unfortunate, Paul. You, skipping meals? You ill?

Nicole heard Paul’s voice, low and distinctive, and saw the alpacas moving among the students near the pavilion. She had only seen him in passing in classes and school activities, but she saw his vibrant and infectious energy that easily made people around him catch even in the lively Brazilian environment. Nicole’s eyes were drawn to Skylar, whose hair was blue and in the warm evening light. Paul was startled by this vivid hair hue and shook his shoulders animatedly.
Nicole didn’t get it all, but she did laugh at Paul’s dramatic “Jesus, Blueberry!” “This is so typical of Paul. He’s loud and he’s expressive and he’s easy to read. It’s his usual exuberance from a distance.” Nicole moved aside for an alpaca that came too close for comfort. She looked at the expression of excitement and uncertainty on Paul’s face as he motioned from the apple he held to the alpaca. He continued to stare at the apple like it was going to tell him what to do. He looked confused as if Naiane's earlier advice had thrown him into some sort of tizzy.
Ellaine appeared with her cloak capturing Nicole’s attention. Paul offered her a compliment, which caught Nicole’s notice as she observed how Paul swiftly redirected his focus; his movement was hasty yet deliberate, indicating a calculated engagement in the social interaction.
Santiago announced the fire dancing, and Nicole turned her attention toward the pavilion, attracted by the inviting flicker of the glow emanating from within. Though she did not speak then, she was curious enough to go nearer, eager to watch the performance that was about to take place.
