“I’ve never met Griffith, but I’ve heard a lot about him. And he doesn’t sound like the kindest professor in Hogwarts from what I have heard. But yea, despite that, I’m pretty excited for Care of Magical Creatures. It sucks that it’s a Third Year class. I’d love to be taking it now. Magical creatures are awesome, and I can’t wait to learn about them.” She was excited about this class, you could tell from the way her voice changed slightly as she spoke about it. It wasn’t something she tried to keep secret.

And I guess I’m sorta excited for Ancient Ruins. I hope it’s not like learning another language - two languages are enough for me. It took me ages to get the hang of French so I just hope we don’t need to learn it like we would learn another language. While it would be nice to have another language under my belt, I just can’t really be bothered.

French had given her a lot of trouble trying to learn it. While everyone in her family spoke it fluently, her mother hadn’t been the best teacher and she had been easily confused trying to pick it up and understand it.

But yea, a class on wand woods and cores would be pretty mint. I’d love to take that class. It should definitely be a thing. But aside from that, what’s your favourite class so far? Personally, mine’s Charms, as I said before, but I like hearing what other people like.”

"You'll have to tell me how it goes since I'm an extra year off, but I guess I'll definitely have to do it, a wandmaker should know about the creatures that the cores come from anyway. Although I'm interested in creatures, they're interesting." Elena smiled.

"So far I've really like History of Magic, I even managed to get an O! Professor Sky makes the class a lot of fun, I figured is was extra interesting for me seeing as I've never even heard of these events before, or known what actually happened."

"So what's your favourite spell in charms so far? I haven't gotten to read those books yet, so it's a bit of a mystery to me. I've been making my way through the library but I may have gotten stuck in the fantasy fiction section." She laughed, "I love my fiction but I should probably do some extra study in the other subjects, since there's no class on the geopolitical dynamics of the Seven Sands or how Jan'Tep magic bands work. I'm sorry I'm probably talking giberrish but I just finished this awesome book series and so it's hard not to think about. That library sure is well stocked."

“My favourite charm? Well, that’s hard - there’s so many amazing ones. But, don’t judge me for this it’s a bit odd, my favourite one would probably be the Lumos charm. It’s 5e one I had the most fun learning. And I can do it successfully now. See look.

Pulling her wand out of her sleeve where it always lived, she held it in front of her, made a gentle swishing motion, and whispered the incantation. To her delight, a small - but bright - light appeared on the end of her wand.

The little light on the end of her wand was a spell she had learnt in her First Year of school. Personally regarding it a useful and beautiful spells to have, she thought the old Charms professor had made a good choice in teaching it to her year.

Nox.” Drawing her wand back up her sleeve and out of sight, she turned back to the younger Slytherin. “Have you learnt the Lumos spell yet? I don’t remember precisely when I learnt it. But I remember it was in the first year. Sucks Professor Vi isn’t here anymore, she was pretty cool. But Professor Seaborne is cool too, let’s hope she doesn’t change up the syllabus too much.

Do you like the library Elena? You keep mentioning it. I can’t of been in it more than three time so last year. Libraries aren’t really my thing, I prefer the outdoors. I should really check it out, but I just haven’t really bothered to.”

The Lumos charm, although simple was absolutely beautiful to see, Elena could understand why Bella liked it. The idea of lighting up darkness struck a poetic note in her heart, it was odd, her new friend seemed to understand her without even having to try.

Elena grinned in wonder at the charm, "I haven't actually managed to learn Lumos yet, but I have an O in astronomy. So that's pretty good. I love the library, perfect place to hide on a rainy day. I do have a tree by the Great Lake which I'm planning on making a hammock in. I'm sometimes like to read there, or I once dragged my flute up and practiced, it worked out surprisingly well, the clear air helps my lungs."

Elena looked at Bella's wand, "What type of wand do you have if you don't mind me asking? I would guess unicorn hair core, but I'm not sure about the wood. It's tricky to know if someone's wood is based on their magic or their personality. Mine is Ash and Unicorn but I always thought that Hawthorn and Thunderbird Feather core would work better for me. A lot of power in that but the personality traits work well."

"You have an O in Astronomy? You're gonna have to help me out with that. It's the one class I'm failing. My first grade in it was a T." Laughing a little bit, she shook her head as she remembered it.

"My Wand? I think it's Willow Wood with Unicorn Hair core. Nothing special, I don't think. But I love my wand. It just understands me, you know?" Isabella still remembered the moment she had first seen her wand. As soon as her eyes spotted it, a warm feeling had gone through her body - like hot cocoa on a cold winters night. She didn't have to touch it to know that this was the wand for her.

But still, she had touched it. And a landmark moment had been imprinted in her brain as she did. The warm feeling had gone through her body again - and a fountain of sparks had protruded from the tip. It reminded her of the muggle fireworks her father showed her once, and it had almost brought tears to her eyes.

From that day onward, she had carried her wand everywhere. In times she hadn't been fully focused in class, and when trying to cast a spell, her wand had sent the warm feeling running through her body once more - as if bringing her back down to earth and reminding her to focus.

"Do you play the flute? You mentioned before that you did. I'm only learning, but I really like it. It's really pretty. But I've been playing the piano since I was little - sort of a tradition in my family. Everyone plays. Do you play any other instruments?"

Elena smiled, "A T. Well, are you any good at potions? I don't have the best marks in that. Apparently I didn't explain things enough."

"Willow wood is meant to mean you have great potential but also unwarranted insecurity. Good at healing and advance non-verbal magic." Elena remembered exactly what she'd read, mostly because she'd said the words out loud. It was easier for her to remember things if she heard them. She'd read once that it was called auditory memory, "As for the wand core, it's going to be very attached to you, if almost anyone tries to use it, then it just won't work. It could also die if mishandled though."

"It's better than mine though, ash and unicorn combo means literally nobody else can use my wand." Elena laughed, "I'm meant to be stubborn and courageous but not arrogant, according to mine. I guess it works out anyway."

"Oh yeah! I do play flute." Elena's eyes lit up at the excuse to talk about instruments, "I can also play viola and fiddle, as for piano I can only play one song, so I'd call myself maybe a beginner?"

Bella was amazing, she'd even let Elena prattle on about wand woods for no reason. Nobody else she'd met so far had let her do anything like that, it felt nice to have someone to talk to.
