PV Completed Big dreams, big accidents

The smell was... indescribable; like coal, burnt wood, and vinegar? Did that make sense, given the ingredients assigned for that potion? Perhaps he had made a brand new poison that the Wizarding World had never seen - call it Morgan's Nightmare.

Jude brought both hands up to clean his face, eyebrows shooting up in surprise. Ok. That was not what he had expected to happen. Before he could say anything, however, another explosion followed his cauldron's vomiting, and he had the pleasure to see it had been Max's cauldron.

His own cauldron burped, quite satisfied to pour out whatever it was he had made.

Jude's ears buzzed, adrenaline rushing through his veins. He rubbed the cleanest part of his school robes across his face to try to make himself somewhat presentable. His curls were sticking to his forehead, weighed down by that gross liquid, and it dripped down to the floor rather anticlimactically. Although other students were enjoying the display of terrible Potion skills, Jude didn't succumb to embarrassment or to his very-very-very bruised ego. Quite the opposite.

He puffed his chest, like a true Gryffindor, hands on his waist. He locked eyes with Max for a moment, happy that someone shared the same misfortune as him. "Yes, I do. Here. Wait." He answered to Azrael's request, flicking his wrist. A splash of... that landed on Azrael, and he snickered, like an annoying younger sibling. "There you go,"

The taste of something burnt seared down his throat. Blinking his eyes open he fell into a coughing fit. If he had actually swallowed any of the potion or it just landed in his mouth he did not know. Either way was bad. He had no thought to the brew being dangerous to consume, simply that he wanted the taste gone. His coughing quieted after a moment, followed by a few attempts to clear his throat.

Looking down at his robes that were covered with liquid, he reasonably folded up one of his sleeves to access the fabric of his jumper underneath. He could hear Mat laughing, and his lips started quivering with restraining his own. He took a good hold of his sleeve and wiped his face as best he could. The liquid seemed no thicker than water, but it sure was sticky. After wiping a few times he gave up. Very little had actually transferred to his sleeve, but his face had grabbed on to plenty of woolen dots.

The snickers of surrounding students just made it harder to hold back his own, but a funny looking grin spread across his face. When Azrael asked for a handkerchief he looked toward him, thinking better of it before actually offering his sleeve. However, when Jude offered and then proceeded to flick some of the liquid at him, Max could no longer hold it. He burst out laughing again. So hard in fact that he had to lean on the table to remain upright.

In his haste to grab onto the workstation he nearly toppled the cauldron with what little it contained. He barely caught it, hands trembling and unfocused from laughter. This only set him off even more, and he crumbled down into a crouch. «That… is the funniest thing I’ve seen in forever!» The words come stumbled and short of breath between the laughter. Straightening slightly he looks at Jude with the most serious expression he can muster at the moment. «It doesn’t look like we have become masters at potions yet!» Eyes gleaming and laughing resumes.

Mat stopped laughing when Max started coughing, becoming concerned about what swallowing that concoction might cause. Fortunately, everyone seemed to be unharmed, at least physically, although, from what little he knew of Jude, his ego might have taken a serious blow. He snorted when the boy sprayed Azrael, confirming this.
"Does anyone know the cleaning spell?" he asked, disheartened by his lack of success in trying to wipe the sticky liquid. He sighed, for the first time regretting not paying more attention in Hystory of Magic class. The only other solution he could think of was to dive straight into the Great Lake, but they were already in enough trouble. He turned to check that his cauldron was still safe, ignoring the amused looks from the other students. Once again, he had failed to finish the potion, although this time it wasn't entirely his fault. Perhaps it's fate, he thought. At least what he had done so far had been saved.
Max was laughing hysterically, lightening the mood, and even he couldn't help but smile at the situation: they had already managed to blow up two cauldrons in the second lesson. It was going to be a long year, but at least a fun one.

Hey guys! I'm exiting the thread and starting the finish of it as we said we would, so feel free to post anything else to finish!

Azrael huffed as Jude flicked his wrist and some of the failed potion landed yet again on him... really, he had been starting to hope that this would be a normal class- it always seems like something just HAS to happen in potions class for some weird reason, sure it's not the easiest class...but still, how does at least one person always end up covered in weird goo?

Then again, even if it wasn't visible on his face- Azrael was happy...he hasn't had this much fun since he got to Hogwarts-its nice to have people to mess around with for once in his life.

Slowly, Azrael tried his best to wipe his face with the handkerchief... closing his eyes momentarily to make sure nothing got on them...as he did, he realized class had ended- seeing as students were quickly beginning to pack up, some even already leaving the classroom.

He opened his eyes again, looking around the room quietly as he murmured.

______________________••___________________he said calmly, adjusting his potion soaked robe as he cleaned off as much of the excess as he could- making sure to pick up his umbrella, open it and head out there door in the same breath.

He's not one to linger if he's determines to go do something...and he's determined to not feel sticky anymore.

As he leaves the class, he wonders..will he ever talk to them again? Hopefully, they seem like nice people...and even though he's not all that sociable- he's not the type to reject the idea of friends.
