Yet again, her struggling was met with a tighting of the restrains. Yet again, it was accompanied by her upperclassman's annoying voice (@Hanako Tone). She gritted her teeth so hard it was a wonder they didn't crumble or at least screech. If only she had air to spare, she'd use it to shout back at Hana to sod off - but she didn't. In fact, despite burning alive and under attack, the damned plant only squeezed harder, chocking her further. She caught a glimse of the slack faced students around her before her vision began to dim. Horrified, she wished they were only unconcious. She wished she had a way to know, a way to help them. She wished she wouldn't soon end up like them.

Just as the dark shadows threatened to cloud both her mind and vision, a last, yet fierce, burst of adrenaline gave the girl enough energy, her last revolve against the vines a show of the simplest of needs: a need to espace the predator. To survive. And that she did. The grip around her laxxened, her exhausted body slipping out and ripping through the air. She only began to register the so far longest fall of her life when it was met with an abrupt and harsh end.

The impact of her back hitting the ground knocked the remaining air out of her wounded lungs. Jaw slack, eyes buldging, she gasped for the missing oxygen that refused to flow into her wind pipe. Attempting to navigate through the panic, she closed her eyes and forced her lips to lock together. It will pass, she reminded herself, it's just temporary. It'll pass. It's almost over. Slowly, her wishes became a reality, as she took a shaky breath. Flooded with an unexpected feelling of calm from finally being out of immediate dangers way, her mind ultimately succumbed to the darkness, slipping into unconsciousness, and..

She wasn't sure why she was afraid of it minutes ago,
The dark felt almost pleasent, calming, heavy,
It was like laying on the floor of an ocean,
Then-
Tap..

Tap, tap.

Groaning, she was lured back into awareness, heavy feeling hand dragging over her face, eyes squinting and attempting to focus on someone standing over her, who, she slowly realised, was nudging her with their foot. Who in their right mind - then the figure's face came into focus - ah.

'Ow, stop that you prick-' she swatted at Hana's foot, grimacing when meeting his eyes, 'I am alive, I am breathing,' the words scrapped against her dry throat, coming out raspier than usual, promting her to cough which then made her ribcage ache. Great, she though while clumsily pushing herself up into a sitting position, slowly building a connection between pain and Hana's face, this guy, a walking bad luck charm, is the first human being by my side. How bloody wonderful. Despite the vitriol of her unvoiced complaints, she couldn't deny the way her panic retreated, shoulders relaxed, feeling safe from the nearness of someone known to her.. and maybe even a little glad for his worry. Not that she'd ever admit that to the arrogant snake.

Her breathing still a little wheezy, she managed to get herself into a kneeling positiong. One hand cradling her aching ribcage she looked up at the moster before them. It looked like out of a fantasy book, or perhaps a horror, it's tremendousness magnified when viewed from below. Still, no longer within it's grasp, Sabrina found herself filled with a determination to fight. She might've been lucky, but there were still others in danger. Her brows furrowed, she put the traits that lead her to Ravenclaw to use, going through possible plans in her mind. There were a few people around, some even adult - although they appeared to be recovering - rapid firing spells at the beast. They were doing their best, but if they lost the captured students, it would all be in vain. If only she had-

She whipped around so fast it gave her a vertigo, palm pressing against her temple, 'Broom! I need a broom,' she shared the solution she came to with whoever stood near enough to hear, 'please'

He heard a voice near him. Slytherin, second year, if he remembered him well. And he shouldn't be there. Whatever that thing, it definitely wasn't safe at all to be handled by students. Logically, he would push him away and tell him to go back to the safer place. However, in this case, pushing away anyone wouldn't help at all. Keeping them closer would be a better call. "Just do everything you can, but still stay safe," that was all he could say to the Slytherin. @Harvey Barrows

He could hear another voice. A Slytherin duellist, almost graduated from the school. What was this place? A snake den? It was, if Lesmana was still the Head of the House of Snakes. He didn't know why he sounded so annoying. Perhaps from the 'old man' thing he called Lesmana. The Professor replied, "I don't know. Just be more careful. This is different from the duel you do at the school." @Hanako Tone And that's all he could answer. A longer response would be ineffective.

His spell was successful. The lower part of the creature was restrained. Hopefully, this could prevent this creature from doing anything it would do. He let the others do the offensive spells. He just needed to keep his guard up while looking for his students.

That was what he was thinking.

Until a fiery rope was cast by another adult. Great spell, but it cost something. The creature was enraged and hit some of them on the ground, including him and the second-year Slytherin.

He could hear the annoying remark from the Duellist @Hanako Tone, but his head hurt so much to respond to anything. He looked down and closed his eyes. His hands were on his head to calm the pain by stimulating other sensations. A simple physiologic hack that worked every time he felt a pain. Once he was fine he looked around. Everything was changed. He missed some things. What he saw was a wall formed by the creature.

Calm.

Lesmana took a vial of Mopsus Potion from his jacket. The potion was hard to brew, but it would also be useless if he just put it in his display. He drank a dose of it.

" Oh , leave it to you to use something else other than fire and flipendos..." Hanako said.

"And leave it to you to summon a snake army without even meaning to," the redhead retorted. "I only thought of it because of you. Remember? When we were talking about dueling spells, you mentioned you saw something about that green sparks spell being able to reveal things having to do with Dark Magic," Jack tried to remind Hanako. Still, as glad as he was to have made a difference even if he couldn't take full credit for it, what was alarming was what they found out as a result. It seemed they had a much greater obstacle ahead of them than he'd realized. But what could they do about it?

It had been so long since he had actually had to fight anything pertaining to dark magic. Not a whole lot was coming to mind. There was a spell he thought might have at least helped them take care of the threat they currently faced - another spell he only recalled thanks to Hanako's helpful prompting - but before he could cast it, someone else caught his attention.

A girl that Jack thought he had heard Hanako yelling at hit the ground with her back and gasped as the air was knocked out of her lungs. He hurried over to her, checking to see what he could do to help, but Hanako was tapping her awake and she was conscious enough to yell at him to stop it as well as assure them she was alive and breathing. Jack sighed in relief.

The girl seemed to have hurt her ribcage by the way she cradled it, but instead of asking for help or something to heal herself or even for a wand, she whipped around and opened her mouth to declare she needed a broom. It must have been important if she was foregoing everything else.

"Accio broom!" he called, casting the spell and raising his hand to catch the broom he hoped to summon to it. He wasn't sure whose broom would answer the summons, but the couldn't afford to worry about that just then. He just hoped the girl knew what she was asking for and what she was going to do with it.

There is something that is just... not right about him. A chill in the air, a sense felt deep in the bones. The shadows might seem more lively, the night might play more tricks on his opponents' eyes. Yet there is one, undeniable truth -- the source is him.

He likely should have expected that the creature would retaliate. After all, one would not likely take kindly to being incinerated while attempting to go about one's tasks─even if said tasks involved the abduction of children into the bowels of the darker and not-easily chartable jungles beyond. Still, the blow did manage to blindside him, even as his inferno raged and sliced through vine and thorn, staggering him long enough to force him to lose his concentration. The fire rope guttered and then extinguished, smoldering against the vegetation even as it grew back in twice its force.

The Marchonné boy seemed less interested in following Leonardo's demands, as he watched the young man suddenly leap into the air before shrinking and contorting into the shape of a golden snidget and zipping away towards the treeline. An animagus. How intriguing.

Hissing to himself to ignore the pain of the blow, Leonardo brought himself up again, posturing slightly before snapping his wand through the air and attempting again, approaching the wall carefully but surely─he needed to get a little bit closer in order to concentrate this magic. He was not of the proclivity to ride a broom. He could not go over this creature. He could not go underneath it.

The only available option to him, then, was through. And Leonardo had never been a man to shy away from carving his own path forwards through any instance of strife or difficulty. No man was an island, perhaps, but even continents were subject to the will of deeper forces that divided or buckled in ways that shaped the land high above itself. These forces were those that shaped, elements that created and destroyed. Leonardo flourished his constant and familiar partner with a broad and perhaps overzealous motion in an attempt to conjure all the arcana he could muster to himself, fire glowing in his eyes as it began to spark at the word of his spell of command. "Incendio tria."

He would find a way through this abomination. If not for the sake of the protection of others, then to prove that such paltry darkness would not shake him now. It stood in the way of something he wanted.

And to attempt to stand in the way of a Chiadovini was a very dangerous pastime to engage in indeed.

Action: Spell Spread Incendio Tria at the Creature (avoiding places he saw students last)

Calming Presence in Effect: Students & Figaro Affected
... the best thing you can hope for is to die in your sleep.

The panic that burned in him served as motivation to escape the clutches of the interminable darkness that would swallow his mind and take his will to persist. Bursting out of the traveler wagons, he darted into the darkness that was at least lightened by the lume of the moon with Figaro at his heels. His breaths were fast, his heart beating out of his chest as he felt the wind on his face, whispering through his hair. The exhilaration of terror and freedom mingled in fantastic hues of life and the hunt. There was chaos all around, people all gathered together.

He recognized one, the silhouette of an old professor of his. Mister Dove.

"There's snare in the houses! What's happening?! Ho-- What in the world is that thi-- " Approaching him still running at full tilt, he was almost knocked off kilter by how fast the man turned on him and dismissed him outright, but Piérre's mind could not slow and his excitement would not be so easily dissipated. "Mister Dove..!" He started again, but was cut off by another sharp delivery from the former Astronomy professor. Professor Chiadovini truly had a wonderful ability to never mince words.

Professor Chiadovini then turned his attention towards the monstrosity as bands of fire leapt towards it, and Piérre could only watch with wide and amazed eyes at the spellcraft and seeming to completely ignore the boy otherwise. He had been left with the instruction to get to safety. Help or to get to safety.

The creature lashed out, striking his professor and causing the spell to fade. Piérre took a few steps back, eyes flicking wildly between the man, the students, the other adult, and the creature. Children snared in the vines, carried off into the woods. "No..." He whispered.

Not again. Not again.

"Figaro, Firma it: "Stay"." He pointed at Professor Chiadovini. "Firma." He emphasized again with a single snap to confirm his command: stay with him. As if on cue, Figaro's tail flicked once and the feline dared to venture a little closer towards the ominous man. Piérre could see the fur rising on the creature's back. Figaro obviously did not like that aura of unease... but he would obey his master.

As for Piérre. Shivering for a moment as he remembered the feeling of the lack of magic in his veins, a little golden spark flickered in his mind; a swift, hopeful little spark... a magic that he could never let go of. Picking up speed in a run towards the side of the creature, he leapt into the air and let himself change.

Golden feathers sprouted from pores in glimmering array, bones turned hollow as they twisted and reshaped themselves into apparatus for flight and maneuver. Spatules and head-feathers replaced his hair... and before the arc of his leap had even reached its zenith, a small golden bird, a golden snidget, flew in place of the boy that had used to be bound to the earth.

Into the jungle was where the creature had taken the children.

He was going to follow.

Ye-jun felt a huge weight slide off his shoulders the moment Kim got close enough that he could levitate the older unconscious student (Valentin Azat Schnell) onto his broom. For once, he did not mess up. At least that’s what he thought in that brief moment of victory. Brief, because afterwards, he turned around only to see the younger boy (@Nikolai Volkov), Tone tried to help, disappear behind an unforgiving curtain of vines. And just like that the moment shattered like a fragile glass.

The Beauxbatons student grit his teeth in poorly hidden frustration. “Sorry. If I had only brought my broom with me, you would have got him.” He said apologetically. Was he going to be a reason for deepening his friend’s trauma? The mere idea of it made Ye-jun's skin crawl. “It’s fine, we can still save him and the other students...Look, there are plenty people to help.” He nodded towards all the kids and a few adults gathered, now surrounding the terrible, and apparently nearly indestructible, plant creature. Right this was definitely not a simple Devil snare. It didn’t act like one…not entirely at least. What the hell are you?

Ye-jun frowned and looked around to see if anything could tell him more, he was usually quite perceptive after all. Still he held his wand ready in case Tone tried to get Nikolai out again and needed any kind of magical assistance. “Tell me what you need, Wonderboy. I’m at your command.” He said, hopefully sounding as reassuring as he hoped to be. It was the best Ye-jun could do right now.
