Suddenly there were no more comfortable hugging arms around her, not a nice bed of warmth underneath her body as she drifted in and out of consciousness. Suddenly, instead, there were shouts and cold air whistling, her limbs arcing upwards as a certain law came into place: an object at rest will stay at rest. Except suddenly she wasn't at rest anymore, but plummeting through the air as gravity took its strong hold upon her. And her eyes bolted open.
Aly's keen gaze took in the scene as it blurred by her green vision, which really was very green right now, not just because of the colour of her irises but also because of the amount of plants and flora surrounding her. Flora that, clearly, had it out for her and her fellow students. She glanced around as she fell, too scared even to scream - she had fallen plenty of times before, in Quidditch matches and from castle windows, but had always ended up with the safe feeling of a cushioned broom underneath her (or, at least, had hit the ground with plenty of experienced Healers around ready to take her to the Hospital Wing). She had no idea about Tenūsa's healing abilities, and, honestly, didn't want to stick around to find out.
Merlin, I wish I had a broom right now.
Her eyes bolted wide open.
Wait! I don't need one!
She hadn't transformed into her Animagus form much since the previous summer, when a lightning storm at summer camp had seen three of her best friends watch her grow delicate, scaly wings of azure blue; still, it was like shrugging on an old, comfortable sweater, the kind you know the feel of by heart. She caught the gazes of Madhup on his broom and her other mates nearby, waving them off as if to say, Don't worry about me. "Mad, Peri! Get her," she shouted, using her last action with hands to point one at the falling Adeline nearby, a younger Ravenclaw Aly vaguely knew - but definitely knew she wouldn't have any Animagus powers. Then her body was stretching, shifting, shrinking, her pajamas morphing into her, antennae sprouting from her head, her vision becoming bulbous and extra-photoreceptive. More colours than she could ever see as a human burst into light around her, and Aly became a butterfly in full view of anyone who was watching, attempting to use her small form to evade the vines who would try to attack her.
The small blue morpho honed in on Mad's broom with Peri on the back, aiming to land delicately on the shoulder of her eagle mate. She wouldn't be much help at catching anyone at this point, but the least she could do was remove one of the people in danger: herself.

It seemed like chaos erupted around her, as other students came out on their respective yurts’ balconies … just like she was now doing. Her green eyes focused on the sheer height of the yurt and just how difficult climbing would be. Sure, she was confident in her own body … but this would likely test her in unknown ways. Better to be safe than sorry, at least in her opinion! Flying it was! Much, much safer! And faster!
The young Ilvermorny student rushed back inside her yurt to her belongings … quickly taking out her Silver Arrow broom, and dashing back outside. With her broom safely in her hands, Devon hopped aboard her trusty broom … feeling the familiar sensation of flying. As a broomracer for Ilvermorny, she already spent plenty of time on a broom (when she wasn’t falling).
Her green eyes glowed, already set in her mind to rush toward the ground … and toward where the students were being held … plus the potential plant (maybe?) they had to fight? Yet, she also recognized that those students who were flying seemed most effective with teamwork. But, who could she actually ask to help? Her bestie wasn’t here, and she frankly didn’t know many, if any, of the other students.
Before Devon could continue spiraling in her mind, she noticed a younger girl with red hair who appeared to be climbing down the vines … that very same idea that she was contemplating. It was clearly a bold idea, and it clearly showed that this younger girl was audacious. ‘I wonder if she’d like to join me?’ She smiled at the thought, knowing what she was going to do.
Without another thought, Devon immediately flew over to the young girl and offered a kind smile. “Hey, would you like to join me? We can face whatever’s down there together?” She gestured to the free space on her broom. Her wand was still clutched in her hand, ready to zoom toward the vines and potential vegetation.

This was a bad idea. Maisie had known this when she had suggested it, but she also knew there was not a better idea around that she could find. And that made it the best, even if it was flawed and risky. Thankfully, Robin hopped on right away. Adeline, who took more convincing (and spellcasting), eventually got on too but not without—
"Margaret Gemmell—"
Maisie's eyes fluttered shut as she tried to ignore the way that Addie sounded so deeply like her mother at that very moment. Her mother sometimes was worried about her risk-taking and this would be no exception as she insisted, "My name is Maisie!" and took off from the ground. With two of her closest friends egging her on, it wasn't hard to fly fast and forward, however reckless. Their voices bolstered her every movement.
That was, until the plant reached out to attack them. Had she flown too close? Or clipped a branch? She couldn't quite tell; they were moving too quickly on their way to rescue the Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain. But the blow struck hard; she felt it in her bones as her hands gripped around the broom shaft. "Ahhhhh," she screamed, as she tried to turn away and give them a berth of safety. The broom seemed to swirl around like a spinning top for the longest minute she had ever experienced until they began to slow and her eyes blinked open and—
"Merlin, Addie!" she exclaimed. She'd expected to see Aly fall (and hopefully they could have picked her up), but her iconic curls were replaced by the fleeting image of a much smaller body. Her head flipped back instinctively to ensure Robin was still with her (she was) before zooming off after her close friend. Suddenly, her heart beat faster and faster as their object had changed so dramatically. "She'll be okay?" she fleetingly asked Robin as they zoomed in a way that could only be interpreted as one word rather than three, somewhere between a question and a statement.
Wand still at the ready, she attempted a swift Wingardium Leviosa in Adeline's direction to guide her back to them. She'd never tried on a human body—or any body—but if the broom couldn't hold her weight, perhaps magic could? And if not, Robin knew a hell of a lot of spells. So, between them, she would save her. They had to.

Zephyr was no coward but this situation shook him to the core. Those vines could kill and he was trying not to think of the worst for their friend Ryder. He wanted to believe that the other boy was still alive and they would still have the chance to save him from this nightmare. Yes, this is a nightmare, one he wanted to wake up from as soon as possible. Skylar took his hand which he gripped tightly, not wanting to let go. All he could think of was that he didn’t want to lose anyone again. One was already traumatic, more of that and he would lash out at anyone. As if that would do much help in their current predicament. He nodded when Skylar said she got his back, “I got yours, I promise.” Looking over at Angel and Rose, his gaze stayed at them, not even hiding his worry since they would climb down. “Please don’t do anything reckless. We’ll get Ryder back.” With that, he turned at the front again after securing Skylar behind him. “Hold on tight Skylar, I don’t want you falling, I have to go faster to avoid those blasted vines.” It is better to warn her now than later on when it’s already happening. No one’s going to die here, not on his watch!
Zephyr trained his best every day ever since he held a broom and learned how to fly. The effect it had stayed with him and he started training on his own and with other seniors, whoever would take this newbie under their wing. As far as flying was concerned, he was very serious about it. He was well aware that he still got a lot to learn but he didn’t mind that. You have to start somewhere and improve from there. Slow progress is still a progress for him as long as there’s still improvement no matter how small and slow it’s going to be. So when he kicked off and flew, his eyes held that kind of serious determination he didn’t know he had in him in this time of need. All he could think of was Ryder and his friends’ safety. As expected the vines started attacking them and he did his best to avoid every time those massive vines would attempt to stop him. “Hold on Skylar!!” He shouted and leaned forward as one huge vines went after them. He shifted his broom quickly and made a sharp dive as another pursue them. It was chaotic that he can’t even use his wand to cast a spell as all his focus was on the vines.
The danger was real and imminent, not the same as during practices he did in the past where he could try again if he failed. In here, one wrong move and they could fall and die! In the midst of his fight with the enormous structure, a path slightly opened and he got a glimpse of a figure entangled around one of the smaller vines. Still being dragged. “There!! There’s Ryder!!” He shouted once again, squinting to make sure it was really their friend, after all there were other students that were captured. “I’ll drive, you attack until we get a chance to get closer.” Not waiting for anything, his instinct just kicked in and avoided one vine again while also attempting to approach it now. Skylar did her part and he used that opportunity to fly faster once the vines pushed back due to the spell thrown at them. I’m not going to miss that window!! Zephyr gripped his broom, his knuckles turning white as he leaned forward even more, urging his broom to move faster, pushing it to its limit. He needed this more than ever!
Action: Continue to push through with his broom until he will see an opening and use that to move closer to where Ryder was held.

It took a few more treacherous seconds than Ruckus would have liked for the old man to find the source of the commotion and screaming outside. Children, children!, were battling the ultra-intelligent Devil's Snare left and right. The other adults had split into multiple directions in the chaos—he wasn't sure who followed him out and who went elsewhere—but he hoped they were able to handle whatever they ran into. If anything, their spellwork was a bit overkill in their high house.
Many of the students had brought their brooms and were using height to their advantage to help others—as the flying professor Ruckus momentarily swelled with pride. But that moment quickly ended when he saw multiple students dropping out of the sky—one he recognized as Miss Salinger, a capable Quidditch captain, the situation was surely escalating if she fell off her broom.
Barely watching where he was walking, which might be a bad idea given the clever snare everywhere, Ruckus ran to a position where he could at least point his wand at one of the fallers. He bellowed, "Levioso!" Next he considered summoning his own broom from his room—if the vines hadn't retaken it his absence—or if he should find out how much he could stretch the cushioning charm's range. A few other yells in the area were alerting him to the fact that the snare was wrecking havoc amongst those on the ground, too. What a bloody mess!

In a mysterious case of deus ex flora the vines receded from whence they came. Had it been Della's lumos maxima? Still, Graci and Pyce looked shaken but in good health. Pyce had given Della her broom, and she was able to climb onto it before falling off the balcony. But before she could fully breathe a sigh of relief, commotion flared up from beyond their room—screams and spells being cast. So that's where the vines had run off to.
Della looked at her fellow teammates—two peers she trusted on the broom racing track—but in the face of life-threatening unknowns, she remembered how much younger they were than her. "I'm going to go see if I can help. You guys stay, it looks safe—" well she wasn't their mom, she couldn't tell them what to do; they were Gryffindors too "—if you want, you know."
Before getting their answers, she didn't want to know, she jumped off the balcony on her boom and went to go fine some of those life-threatening unknowns. She also realized Greta was absent. She had asked the little snake to find an adult. Hopefully, she was okay, too. Maybe the vines would ignore her and think her one of their own? She sure fit the part; she was barely a different shade of green. Della hoped other witches and wizards didn't make that same mistake.
From her vantage point, she quickly spotted other flyers—and fallers. Uh-oh. Della honed in on one falling body and went for the save. Hopefully, she would make it in time.

Violet in Korean, Red in Russian and Blue in FrenchKim was lost in dreamland and for once it was nice because he didn't dream and was just in a state of limbo. But as Valentin succumbed to the various spores of sleep, the seeker fell off his broom and began the slow descent of death. Somewhere deep in dreamland, Kim sensed Valentin's peril and his heart made him jolt out of his dream and back into reality again. "Tine..." He murmured, feeling his heart race. It was a nickname he rarely used for Val, one that he'd only just started to refer to him as. It felt more personal to him, something that no one else would even think of to call his beloved. Kim quickly scrambled over to the edge.
Of the black hole with vines. Despite his fear of heights, Kim could see Valentin deep below just barely within vision range still for now. He had fallen off his broom and was going to possibly die if no one came to his rescue. Bloody hell. Kim looked around for Colin but didn't see him anywhere. Kibo hissed a little and curled around his upper arm, shoulder and neck. It was obvious he wanted to go rescue Val with him but Kim was deathly afraid of heights. Hell, the duelist had never gotten on a broom before with the exception of flying class and Hana teaching him. Well, it had been more like a teaching, teasing moment with those two.
Fine. He'd do it. But just because it was Valentin out there who needed his help. Kim steeled his resolve and tried not to think about what he was going to do now. First thing was to find a broom. After some careful searching, Kim found someone's Silver Arrow on the ground and decided to borrow it for the time. Checking the broom quickly to ensure it wasn't going to break down on him, Kim swung his leg over the side of the broom and kicked off, Kibo firmly latched around him. He focused completely on reaching Valentin and saving him too.
But also made sure to watch out for potential booby traps and vicious vines. The last thing he needed was to fall off his broom too. That would be a nightmare and Kim wasn't sure he'd be able to remain conscious if that was the case. Despite his fear of flying, he kept it at bay and drew out his wand when he got closer to his beloved. Pointing it at Valentin, while his other hand gripped the handle of the broom like a vice, Kim cast the Slowing Charm at him. It was the best spell he could think of because it would slow his falling progress. "Arresto Momentum!" He incanted, hoping it would work.
Meanwhile, Val felt like the very air, his native element, was betraying him...
Poisoned. Corrupted. He hated himself for succumbing to sleep. He can't fail Nikolai, not now, not ever... yet he couldn't quite make himself wake up again.

Violet in Korean, Red in Russian and Blue in FrenchTone nodded when Ye-jun told him to be careful so he wouldn't end up getting hurt himself, since he couldn't help others if he was incapacitated too. "Of course. I'll do my best to remain vigil, I can't have the others perish because I was being reckless, right?" He said with a smile, trying to lighten the mood a little. Tone thought for a moment about Ye-jun's idea about leaving Mochi here where it seemed to be safe now. "What do you think, Mochi?" Tone asked her and the feline looked over at him and gave a cute mew, squirming in Ye-jun's hands and jumped back down onto the wooden planks. Apparently, Mochi agreed with Ye-jun and Tone smiled as he leaned down to pet her head a little. He glanced over at Ye-jun and let his eyes flicker over him. "Are you ready?" Tone asked him.
He would feel better if Ye-jun was safe. But at the same time, understood Ye-jun probably wanted to help out too. "I'm not used to having two people on Gin but I think it should be fine. I won't be reckless, not with you with me too." He said with a smile that could melt hearts. With that, Tone zoomed off on Gin towards the deep dark black hole where students were waiting for someone to come save them. Upon entry, Tone noticed that there were a lot of people trying to help those who were falling, other than a select few, one of which was @Nikolai Volkov. "Hang on. We're going down." He told him and zoomed directly down to where Nikolai was trapped and restrained by the vines. Taking out his wand with one hand, Tone cast Relashio to try and cut through all the vines holding him captive, careful to look out for potential sleep spores and vines coming out to stop him now.
Hopefully, he'd be able to help him out and then return to safety afterward.

In the role of Beater, if you hit an opponent with a bludger the bludger will then ricochet off that user and target a second opponent of choice at disadvantage (must be declared, if not declared the target will be random and can be an ally but not yourself). Ricochet damage is 75% of the original hit.
In the role of Beater, if you critically hit with a bludger, instead of doing double-damage you do 2.5x damage. If you critically fail with your bludger attempt to hit, rather than having your bludger randomly target another user (including yourself or an ally) the bludger cannot target you on a critical fail (but it can still target your allies). Having taken off into the sky, Robin couldn't help but laugh aloud, reveling in the feeling of flying passenger for Maisie. Robin had flown before, yes, but... nothing like this. Add on the fact that they were being attacked by a giant plant intent to kill, and Robin barely had enough room on the broom for her tush, it was impossible not to welcome the rush of exhilaration. Exhilaration and complete, utter assurance that the trio of girls were all insane and perfectly prepared for this mission. Robin punched her fist in the air as Maisie's spell sliced through the air, severing the vines holding the Quidditch captain. They soared through the air closer to the girl when a violent jerk caused the catalyst for true mayhem to begin.
"Woohoo! Nice o- oof!"
Suddenly, Robin was no longer on the broom. The only thing that saved her from falling to her death was the fact that her quick reflexes had her hand reaching out to the twirling broom and clutching at it with a scream of exertion. Things were suddenly no longer fun for the raven. Things had suddenly turned into a nightmare.
As the girl somehow forced herself back up onto the broom, she wrapped her arms around... Maisie? Robin's stomach filled with absolute dread; she looked down, and unfortunately for the three duellists, one of the potential rescuers had just become a... a rescuee.
"She'll be okay?" Maisie asked halfway between a question and a statement, turning her head and making eye contact with Robin, who could only stare wide-eyed at their friend, who was falling further with every second.
"Uhhh..." Robin trailed, stunned for a moment, especially because their original target, Aly, seemingly disappeared into nowhere. Well, seems their target had changed. Robin, wand still clutched in her hand, her other arm tightly wrapped around Maisie's waist, shouted, "Arresto Momentum!" Followed by Maisie's casting of the Levitation spell. Hopefully, they would be able to buy an extra minute for Adeline with their spells, but how would they get her safely to the ground without risking her falling again? Robin looked around with panic at anyone else who was around that she might be able to trust. Her eyes settled on Pericles Dralt, the seventh year Revenclaw, on the back of an unrecognizable dark-haired guy's broom.
"Pericles!!" Robin yelled in his direction, pointing at Adeline, panic clear in her voice. A seventh year would be more capable of saving the girl's life... right? It was a testament to her worry that she was willing to call for backup. The girl's pride mattered not in a situation as dire as this. "Help her!"
Things were moving so fast that Robin's brain couldn't keep up with everything happening around her. Her attention was focused solely on saving her best friend, who, thank god, was still under the bravery charm. Robin only hoped the girl wasn't nearly as terrified as Robin was. She chewed her lip, desperately hoping that Adeline would forgive her if she made it out of this alive.
