Lectures for Year Four are presently undergoing revision. The first has already been completed and will replace the current version on Monday. Subsequent changes shall follow in due course, though not at a constant pace, as other obligations demand my attention.
This serves also as a reminder: any unfinished or unsubmitted homework must be completed and turned in no later than 8th September, 2025.

of notice: I've not had the time nor motivation to write the year 1 lesson 4 homework rewrite for history of magic. The intended release was September 20th 2025, but absolutely no progress has been done so far.
I am going to try to remember to inform you all when I have initiated the rewrite, but it isn't anytime soon presently. My apologies.

Class Announcements and Updates
Just a notice to everyone, the other day I have updated OWL questions for History of Magic, I will be doing the same for NEWTs momentarily.
However, they still follow the previous curriculum. When I get to rewriting the entire OWL and NEWT with the updated/new curriculum, these questions will change. Further, you will notice that in the presently updated OWL for History of Magic, there are 20 questions- 10 from the content of the lessons and 10 about the spells. You will also notice that there are **no** written portions, be it essay, practical or short answer. They are all **multiple choices**.
Expect the same for the NEWT when I update it.
---
Following this, in the past a lot of History of Magic homework questions were short answers or consisted of an essay, or were true/false or fill in the blanks. Those are mostly removed. There will be some lessons that might have them. I have reduced the amount of questions asked on them as well, they are still the original questions asked from the homeworks, but in multiple choice form and reduced to anywhere between 2-4 questions. As I go through rewrites, I will begin standardizing this general template
-> Question 1 /2
a.
b.
c.
d.
-> Question 2 /2
and so on to Question 5
-> Bonus: Question +4 (this will likely be a written portion, mind you, it is bonus because I do not want to force any of you to write if you don't want to. I will also specify a specific scenario for maintaining a similar rp setting in every homework submitted- like how Y1L2's bonus question is for you to rp casting the Sneezing Hex on a brother. Remember, this is a BONUS questions, not required. It would help you if you got some questions wrong.
So, I figured it is best to inform you now that I have updated all of the current homework (excluding the ones I have rewritten recently) to be simplified for both your ease and mine. NEWTs are next.
Thank you, and please dm me if you have any questions.

Hi! Two things!
One | I am your new History of Magic Professor, Elmo Break.
Two | You have one day remaining (less than 24 hours) to submit y1l4 | The Witch Trials if you wanted to do your homework on that instead of on the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy.
You've gotta break some eggs to make an omlette, something something.

Attention all fourth years!
I am looking at posting some simplified Runes lessons on Friday, 10th October 2025. Given that, any fourth years have until midnight in the last timezone (should be 12:00 UTC) on that date to finish any of the current Y4 Runes homework.
Additionally, feel free to reach out to me if you are a current fourth year who would like to be featured in a lesson!

Class Announcements and Updates

I am going to announce now, that by Sunday October 12th I am rewriting the Y1L5 lesson (currently the Salem Witch Trials) to cover the topics of our first of seven sets of Folklore.
In this set of Folklore, we are focusing on three British folklore stories. (Granted, I was actually more so referring to all of the UK but
Loch Ness Monster
The Green Man
The Wicker Man
Considering we are on tune for halloween, maybe these stories will light your interest.
(Future Folklore Lessons will cover highlighted (or lesser known!) stories that are found in different areas of the countries appointed. Ie: North America will cover some canadian folklore as well as folklore from the appalachia, and other regions of the United States.)
I obviously cannot cover all of them in great detail in one lesson, hence why they are broken up and certain folklore stories are selected.
So again, to reiliterate, I will be posting the rewrite on October 12th. Submit any current Y1l5 homework if you want to do the Salem Witch Trials topic over the folklore topics.
