A Test in Ethics
The beauty of the mirror was mesmerizing. Bloom could not lose focus on the glistening surface that the mirror illuminated under the moon. There was something about this mirror that seemed both dangerous, and yet comforting. Slowly walking out of the water, Bloom waddled her way to her clothing. The last thing she needed was some sort of infection from the ground with her cut.
She placed the mirror on the ground where her clothing laid and could not stop staring at it some more. "I don't think it is a normal mirror," she said, her voice in monotone. Blinking a few times, she tore her eyes away from the mirror and to the Prefect while putting back on her uniform-- which was quite difficult when wet.
"I think we should give it to a professor to look at... Just in case?" she said, looking back at the mirror and yet again, tearing her focus from it to Eris. She knew it was not going to be a popular vote to give a professor an item that they had found after hours in the lake. It would be one detention after another, and who knows... Perhaps suspension, too.
"Or... We could figure out if it is magical and then tomorrow give it to a professor?" Bloom gave in to peer pressure. Granted, this was not a peer pressure that anyone had said. It was pressure that she built onto herself thinking perhaps her merits were a bit too honest. They were kids and this was an adventure. What harm could be done?
