Abbey didn’t mind the idea of trying to get into the same Hogwarts house as the others at all, but she wasn’t sure if it was something that was possible. What could they possibly do to choose their house or make the sorting hat put them into the same one? She wasn’t sure, but from the little she had heard about the sorting ceremony it seemed to her that it was a speaking hat that chose for you based of what your personality is like. She thought that everyone in the compartment seemed and was nice, but she noticed that they didn’t all have the same personalities. She knew there was a really small chance that they would actually end up in the same house, but she didn’t want to tell the other and be a negative person because it didn’t seem like they knew what little chance it really was for this to happen.
Nova turned to look at Abbey as she spoke, “Are you sure?” Abbey immediately began thinking of if she was sure or not Hufflepuff was the house she wanted to be sorted into the most. “I mean… Hufflepuff is great, I'm sure! But Gryffindor sounds really amazing! Imagine having adventures every day!” Maybe she’s right? Maybe Gryffindor is cooler and more fun?" Abbey quickly became unsure of what she really wanted. “You can be loyal and hardworking in Gryffindor, too, I believe!” Abbey smiled, "Yeah I guess you’re right. I wouldn’t mind being a Gryffindor and my sister Cynthia is one too." She paused before deciding to agree with the others plan, "I’m in! Let’s all try to get into Gryffindor!"

“Great!”, Novalie exclaimed, patting Abbey’s shoulder with excitement before glancing around at the others, her grin almost infectious,
“It’s settled then! We’re all going to Gryffindor and we’re going to have soo much fun!”
The rest of the ride was filled with chatter and laughter, the kind that made time fly by unnoticed. Novalie enjoyed every moment, her spirits high. The redhead wondereded if the other compartments were as full of energy as theirs. Occasionally,, her gaze drifted to the window, captivated by the ever changing scenery outside. It truly looked stunning.. The rolling hills and distant forests bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun left her in awe, her deep green eyes wide with wonder...
And then, before she knew it, the train began to slow, signaling their arrival.
Oh god!!
A rush of serotonin surged through her and Novalie jumped to her feet instantly, her eagerness impossible to contain now.
“Let’s go, let’s go!”, she urged, her voice bubbling with enthusiasm.
She grabbed her luggage in a hurry, waving for the others to follow, “Let’s be the first ones out!”
Without waiting for a reply, she dashed ahead, her heart racing with anticipation as she imagined stepping into the magical world waiting just outside the train!

Abbey was happy she was in a compartment with this group of other first years. She felt like she had already made some friends or at least some connections that could become friends. She enjoyed the conversations and jokes that they had throughout the whole ride and she felt as excited to find out what house her new friends would be in as she was to find out what house she would end up in herself. She really hoped that she would end up in the same house as all of them, but to hope she ended up in the same house as at least one of them couldn’t be too much to ask for, right?
The lady with the snacks and sweets trolley had showed up around the middle of the train ride, but Abbey had barely noticed as she was enjoying her conversation with the rest of the first years in the compartment and not paying attention to what was going on outside from their compartment.
The train slowly stopped after a long ride that had felt like just a few minutes. Abbey knew she wasn’t the only one that thought so. There just had to be a lot of first years that had felt like the ride was only a couple minutes long. Just like her.
Right after the train stopped completely Novalie jumped up from her seat, “Let’s go, let’s go!” Abbey stood up right after and grabbed her trunk just like Novalie had just done. “Let’s be the first ones out!” Novalie said with excitement before she ran out of the compartment. Abbey stood there for a bit before she decided to run after Novalie so that they could actually be the first ones out of the train. "Come on guys!" she yelled to the others happily before she was off the train.

Curtis knows what houses were, though at the current time he was too shy to interrupt the boy who was interested in explaining what they were. After all, that is a potential friend opportunity he might be missing out on.
He is glad he thinks he is smart though.
It is then when Novalie mentioned that they can all be in the same house, he perks up. “We can do that??” Regardless- he suppose- if he ended up in Ravenclaw or not, he suppose he’s either going to be with his friends or be in a smart house- he just hope he won’t end up in the hateful house.
Before he knew it, the train had reached its destination. The two girls were all out in an instant and he is still clambering for his stuff.
“I’m coming!! Wait for me!” He has half-barged through the compartment, and stumbled his way off the train. His heart leaps in his chest as the excitement continues to rush through him.
He stopped at the steps, a sense of temporal unease and alertness spread through him, though that is something a little bit of optimism can’t handle.
