Interacting with: @Amelia Lerelle

The ginger head smiled as the girl, now introduced as Amelia Lerelle, asked him if he was also a first year. "Yes, I am! I'm new here but my brother isn't. He's a fifth year already so he promised to show me the ropes. I can't wait to check out the courtyard here. Maple says it's a great hangout spot! Say, we should go there together some time! I do love the outdoors. Especially trees. In my backyard, my family has a whole forest!" The boy rambled on for quite some time, with so much enthusiasm that the poor girl probably wondered when he would end. Finally realizing his endless rant, his face flushed a deep red and he grinned shyly. "Sorry, bout that. My mum says I talk too much. I guess she's right." He shrugged it off, nervously. His deep brown eyes scanned his plate before he reached out shakily and picked up his fork to continue eating.

Gathering his courage, he lifted his head, along with it his eyes, to ask the brunette, "I'm just curious...do you have any siblings? I have one but he makes up for a handful with his teasing. Oh! Do you want to do any sports here?" He inquired at the sudden thought. "I'm thinking of doing broom racing...maybe next year though. I wouldn't want to make my brother upset. See, he used to be a really good duelist but last year in the spring, he dislocated his shoulder when another duelist hit him with a hard spell. He knocked into some furniture and although he's gotten better he...never exactly got back on track with practice this summer. He's taking the year off now."

A pureblood with a fascination for muggle objects, pygmy puffs, and plants.

Setting: At the Hufflepuff Table in the Great Hall.
Time: Evening.
Outfit: A neat looking Hogwarts uniform with hair out.
It was fair to say that the moment Elm began to speak, Amelia’s nerves began to disappear like bubbles being blown away on a summer day. It was only when he finished that she realized that she had been staring him with wide eyes, “Your brother goes here? Lucky!” She smiled brightly once more, clearly her automatic reaction to nerves. “And you have a whole forest?” It was a bit embarrassing that she was repeating every sentence he spoke, so it was almost a relief when he joined her in turning the shade of a beetroot. “No it’s alright!” And for a second Amelia allowed herself to wonder if her mother ever said that about her. No. She wasn’t going to be jealous in her first proper conversation in the great hall.

As the ginger headed boy took to asking her another question, Amelia took a piece of delicious looking pie from her plate and began eating. Suddenly she stopped, chewing vigorously, before saying “No, I’m an only child. It would be nice to have siblings though…” Then the conversation turned to sports, something that Amelia had never had a talent for. It was far more likely she would get a ball sent into her face, then she would manage to catch it, or at least that was how her past attempts had ended. But now the sports would be different… Maybe she might actually manage dueling or broom racing. “I suppose dueling sounds quite fun, although I’m sorry about your brother.” It was a calmly said statement too, but she began to wonder if she actually might have a chance at a sport now that she was here at Hogwarts. There was a moment’s hesitation before the young girl added shyly, “You know perhaps we could practice together sometime?” She paused for a moment, before smiling, hoping she wouldn’t make the conversation stale. So far, hufflepuff was seeming rather nice. Maybe it wouldn’t be as difficult as she first thought.
