Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Spell Spread
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it): Nicky had been paired up with Galton the year before and it was the first time she really saw her teammate in action. She was amazed by his grace and skill, but most of all by the fact that he was able to split a spell, making it go in two different directions, targeting not one but two opponents at once. Since duelling had pretty much become one of her favourite sports, she spent the whole summer practicing the spell spreading with her sister, Lynette. Of course, she had to study too, and prepare for the upcoming OWLs but she couldn't help wanting to improve her duelling skills too. She spent hours on end training and at some point her grandfather even had to remind her that duels weren't the only thing in life.
-"Remember how you wanted to heal people, sweetheart? Not find new ways to hurt them?"
-"But no one really gets hurt in a duel and I like winning a lot more than losing!"
-"I really did like it better when you did Quidditch, sweetheart... But I suppose I can help you if you promise to spend more time with us after you learn this skill".
She did promise, and her grandfather trained her together with her sister every single day, giving her tips on how to concentrate better and how to hold her wand. Until finally, one day, two separate tongues of flames shot out of her wand, dancing in the dark like a small bonfire. Nicky was overjoyed that she'd finally reached her goal but then, after the excitement had worn off, she went to her room and cried. This was all she'd wasted a whole month on. A month she could have spent laughing at her brother's stupid jokes and barbecuing with her grandparents or learning new languages with her mother. She thought learning a new duelling skill would make her feel accomplished but all she could feel at this point was exhaustion and immense disappointment in herself. However, it had already been done and the skill had been acquired. She went to sit with her grandfather later that evening and promised she wasn't going to get so carried away again, that she wouldn't lose sight of what's important. She had to stay true to herself, otherwise, what was the whole point of learning or achieving anything? That being said, she was still hoping to do well in the upcoming duelling season, she would just try to be more careful about which spells she used and how she treated her opponents.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Charmer
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Madison grew up in an ultra-class society, with a Pureblood Mother, a Pureblood Father and plenty of training, from her mother especially, in the ways to act within the society they live in. From a young age, Madison seemed to possess a very graceful and charming manner and wherever the family went, many would come up to her mother or father and comment on how charming and graceful Madison was. Madison is a very naturally beautiful girl, with her charm and grace only enhancing and adding to her beauty. Her mother especially noticed that, even without much training, Madison had a gift of being very charming and graceful, in both the way she captivated whoever she was talking to, and in the way she looked, people would often turn their heads and look at her, getting distracted from being in her presence.
As Madison grew older, that ever-present charm and sweet smile, seemed to please everyone wherever she went. However, it also seemed to make her mother fuss over her more. Madison does find it exhausting sometimes, however a lot of times, she has been able to use it to the advantage of both herself, and her parents. Naturally, Madison is a very friendly and graceful person, growing up in the society she is, Madison at a young age, learnt to play the charming and graceful role very well. Whenever she is at an event with her parents, people always look at her. Not just because of her beautiful gown or the way she looked, but because of the way she interacts with people and is so graceful in the way she greets and smiles at whoever she meets.
Madison is a very beautiful 12-year-old, no surprise when you see her mother or her father, both of whom are very good-looking individuals, and when you look at their family pedigree, it becomes even clearer as to why Madison is as graceful and charming as she is. Madison is a Hufflepuff, meaning that she isn’t too vain or proud, but very sweet, kind, friendly and caring. She also knew how to properly interact with anyone she met, friends, acquaintances, her mothers work colleagues, or just anyone really, Madison can use her given talent of charm and grace to please anyone she meets and leave them with a lasting impression of her as a person.
Although she is young, Madison has been told many times that her charming nature and gracefulness will take her far in life. Not just by her mother, who may see it as probably the only advantage Madison has since she doesn’t like the fact that Madison prefers to play Quidditch over trying to find a good match, which, to Madison’s credit, she has already done so, but also by friends, other people she meets and her parents’ friends too. As Madison grows older, she’s sure that her Charm and gracefulness is going to come in handy.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Lovely Creature
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Growing up in the ultra-class Pureblood Society that Madison has, one knows that image and looks mean a great deal, even at a young age. If you look good, dress well and carry yourself correctly, you gain many compliments, both to you and your parents. Madison, though only 12 years old and with great potential to become even more beautiful, in particular, does extremely well in this department, with her beautiful blonde hair, dazzling blue eyes, rosy cheeks, and amazing bone structure.
Whether walking down the streets of South Kensington, the corridors of Hogwarts or the cobble pavestones of Diagon Alley, Madison gets many approving nods and double takes from many wondering eyes. Although her mother is not a Veela, many would mistake Madison and her mother for such, as they are both very eye-catching, beautiful and, in some cases, quite distracting for passers-by. Although Madison and her mother don’t always get along, because Madison is so strikingly beautiful, one thing that her mother does more than the average Pureblood mother, is fuss over every inch of her daughter and her appearance. This annoys Madison greatly, however, due to her upbringing, Madison took it on the chin and just let her mother fuss over what she wanted to, because then she’d leave Madison alone afterwards.
Whilst being incredibly beautiful comes with its many perks, there are still a few downsides. It means that her mother holds Madison to a higher standard than her older brother, in terms of always looking presentable and beautiful. It also means that Madison can’t always tell if people are staring at her because they approve, because they are jealous of her looks, or because they disapprove, though that is rare.
Madison is aware that, since she is a fair bit prettier than most her age, that many girls may look at her with jealousy or disapproval, Madison loves the way she looks and takes massive pride in always trying to look her best. However, for Madison, that isn’t hard to do, even if you put her in sweatpants, an oversized hoodie, slippers and her hair into a messy bun, it’s almost guaranteed that she would still distract many people, though Madison’s normal clothing style, which consists of dresses, skirts with matching blazers, pink jumpers over white collared shirts and many other beautiful well thought out items, compliments her distractingly good looks extremely well.
If you ask either one of Madison’s parents, which child they get the most compliments on, they would, most likely, both say Madison. She scored the max when it came to the genes and looks department and, very cleverly, uses that to her utmost advantage. Some may think that, due to the way Madison dresses, she is vain, however that isn’t true. Madison has just learnt how to carry herself gracefully and with plenty of poise, along with looking beautiful, though, with her looks, that’s the easy part.

Noa-Elise had always been fascinated with snakes. Though as a pureblood, there was an unspoken rule about not vocally proclaiming your love for something that may be perceived as dark by the majority. While it's true that snakes and other serpentine creatures alike were associated with evil wixen, she can't help but see the beauty of them and she had a special secret that she hadn't told her parents yet, she could understand and talk to them.
It started out small, some disjointed words with a noticeable lisp that she would hear by her mother's beloved garden where she would spy something slither by the grass. Then the next day, the birds that usually flock to the bird bath and the toads near the pond have gone, or they will just stay for a few minutes for a few sips of water before fleeing the area. Wanting to get to the bottom of this mystery, Noa-Elise waited for three hours, crouching near the hedge with her knees burning from exhaustion when she saw the cause of all this; a snake.
It was long with a dark green body and a ring of yellow band around its head (Do snakes have necks? she wondered to herself) But when she approached it as slowly as she could, she gasped as the creature began to writhe and then fell limp. Filled with concern, she rushed to the snake and grabbed a stick to cautiously poke at it, not trusting that the little fellow might strike at her out of panic.
'Leave alone' a reedy voice spat out.
Noa-Elise stared at the crumpled heap and looked around, searching for any signs that someone was playing a trick on her. Turning her attention to the limp snake again, she poked the blunt end of the stick on its exposed underbelly and heard a hissing voice again.
'Musssst stay ssstill. Mussst sssurvive'
It was then she heard it, an unmistakable tone of determination she never thought she would hear from a snake. It pulled at her heartstrings so much that without thinking, she threw away the stick and carefully cupped the creature into her small hands, careful not to touch its head. she doesn't know what to do, should he say something? Hiss at it like a snake would?
Taking a deep breath, she opened her mouth and began to talk as she normally would:
"Hello little friend. I won't hurt you"
The snake stilled for a moment before lifting its head towards her. Its eyes stared right into hers, forked tongue peeking out to taste the air around it.
'How doesss thisss one undessstand usss?'
"I... I dunno" she confessed, "I just can. Are you alright? You just fell."
The snake curled itself in the middle of her cupped ads, though its head still leveled to her eyes. 'We do it to live. To fool othersss from attacking ussss'
It does make sense, she hummed to herself. She had read that different snakes have their own defense mechanism to prevent being eaten by other predators and faking death is quite efficient. She was sorely tempted to keep the snake so she could ask it numerous questions her heart desired. Like how it keeps its eyes wet without eyelids, or if unhinging its jaw can hurt, or what if it does things with its molted skin. But she knows she couldn't. If she was the snake, she wouldn't want to be someone else's pet; she'd want to be free.
So she just asked the snake where she could put it back and asked if it would come back again. The snake was silent for a while before telling her it must travel on to warmer places before the 'big cold'. No doubt it's near its migration cycle and the snake would want to keep a move on. With a smile on her face, she wished the snake a fond farewell and went back into the house where Mity was busy cleaning the sitting area.
Climbing up to her bedroom, she stopped for a moment to look at the dozens of photographs of her father's family hanging in the hallways. Some of them were out of their portraits to visit other locations, Great Uncle Hubert was snoring away with a bottle of firewhisky on hand while her grandfather Niclas sat on his chair and looked at her with fondness.
"Having an uneventful afternoon dear? You're usually playing in the gardens at this time" he assessed, his dark blue eyes that was a mirror image of her own peered with interest.
Noa-Elise giggled and looked around, seeing if someone was hiding behind the corner to hear the secret she was about to share with her grandda-
"Grandfather, I can talk to snakes!" she whispered with excitement.
His usually sleepy eyes widened and his entire body stiffened, "A snake you say? Are you quite sure?"
She nodded, "Yes. I found it wandering through Mother's garden and said it was just passing through so it could prepare for winter. I didn't think I could talk to animals before- oh, does that mean Father can speak to snakes as well? Maybe I can ask him to get a pet for me-"
"Erm, dear heart I don't think you should tell anyone of your gift" he interrupted.
Noa-Elise's smile faded from her lips, browns knitted as she considered his words, "Why not Grandfather? Did I do something bad?"
Fear crept to her chest, she didn't want to get into trouble, she just wanted to know what she was hearing in the gardens, she didn't mean to trouble the snake! The panic that she was feeling must've been so obvious as her grandfather gave a gentle shushing noise,
"Now now, it's alright little dear. You haven't done anything wrong. It's just... people don't appreciate that gift- talking to snakes I mean."
"Why not?"
The old man took a deep breath and leaned on the overstuffed chair he was sitting on, the exact replica of his old chair that's now in Donegal with Cousin Clare, "You see, back in my days, the Dark Lord was known to have that kind of ability. They said people who have that ability are practicing dark magic and were evil"
A gasp exited her lips "But-but I'm not evil! I just wanted to talk to it!"
"I know love, I know" Niclas replied in a patient voice "You're not a bad person, nor does the gift automatically make a person be one. I'm just afraid that if they find out that you have it, they might treat you differently. I would like to ask if you could keep it a secret for the meantime, hmm?"
The child bit her lip, she had never kept a secret from her parent before. Especially if it's as big as this one; but Grandfather said that others might treat her differently if she told. And she definitely doesn't want to lose her friends just because she can talk to snakes. Making her decision, she sadly nodded to the portrait, shifting her weight from one foot to the other.
"I understand Grandfather" she muttered, "I won't do it again"
Niclas studied her for a moment before beckoning her closer to his portrait and gave a small grin, making the crow lines around his eyes more prominent, "Well I didn't say you should stop talking to those little fellows now did I? You can have a chat with them once in a while, snakes can get lonely to y'know?"
Upon realizing his words, a huge grin broke into her face before she enthusiastically nodded and ran to her room. Grabbing her quill and inkpot, she dived under her bed to retrieve her journal which had a lock that was charmed to keep prying eyes away. There, she wrote the words-
"Dear Journal,
I can speak to snakes! Grandfather Niclas said that other witches and wizards see it as a bad thing but I don't think it's really that bad. Snakes are so beautiful and ame amazing and very cool. I met one at the garden earlier today but I forgot to ask its name and where it came from. I hope I can meet with them again"

They say being a Parselmouth (or a Parseltongue) was eradicated from the dark arts. After all, Salazar Slytherin himself was one. To worsen it the most powerful Dark Lord of all time, Lord Voldemort had this talent too, no one in her family ever imagined that the next heir of the Shakestra family would be blessed with that very ability too
Elisa Shakestra was born into the Ancient family of Shakestra which was known for having the most ambitious and successful Slytherins in it, She herself was the daughter of two stern ministry officials who made sure she would walk in their footsteps too, never did they realize that their little Elisa was born with a ability which her great great grandfather used to have the power of talking to snakes.
Since she was young, Elisa was locked in her Manor after she once tried to go out and explore and mistakenly ended up in Muggle town and was almost kidnapped. The young girl used to mostly spend her time in the library of her house , reading various kinds of books from books needed for her age to even 6th year books. She loved all kinds of books but the main books that used to fascinate her were books related to snakes and histories of parselmouths. The young girl always dreamt of having a small pet snake with her and speaking with it , she believed snakes were more loyal companions compared to humans and other species. The young girl had once even thrown a huge tantrum infront of her parents for a pet snake but was rejected with a big NO because one of her cousins were bitten by a snake and her parents didnt wish her to face the same fate.
It was all until Elisas 9th birthday, when her parents finally agreed to take her to a garden some miles away from her house , The garden was a beautiful sight for the young girl, It was filled with cute animals from squirrels to baby bunnies, about which Elisa truly didnt care of, she was a little dissapointed that she didnt see any snakes around there, the deeper she walked into the garden somehow a spark of hope started to light in her heart, As she walked deeper into the garden she saw a sight of a scaly tail moving inside a bush. Elisa instantly recognized it as a snake and went near the bush, Over there she heard a small hiss 'Hidee Right nowww, a Humannnnn is approachingggg', the young girl couldnt understand how she was able to understand the snake and simply uttered " I wont hurt you", the moment she said that the snake she saw along with some baby snakes came out of the bush , and started hissing againg ' A parselllmouthhhh! Howww can we helppp youu dear' , it was then Elisa realized that she had uttered a word in a strange language which surely wasnt english and decided to try again " I just wanted to see you" and yet again she spoke in a strange language which was later answered by a hiss of the snake ' Ifff youuu dont minddd , cann we go backk homeee" for which Elisa nodded her head and let then snake family go , she then went back to where her parents were waiting for her but with a lot of thoughts in her head.
That day Elisa realised that she was a Parselmouth but didnt understand how, she made it her goal to find out how she got this talent. She went from reading all the books related to snakes and parselmouths to even her family history where she finally found out about her great great grandfather
Orius Shakestra had the same talent. After finding out about this Elisa felt more fascinated then ever to learn all about snakes and help herself improve her Parselmouth. She started to visit the garden more often and talk to the snakes , who shared a lot of interesting facts with her and became her all time best friends. Elisa did tell her parents about it , they seemed very proud of her for the first time in many years. She kept on increasing her knowledge about snakes and Parselmouths until she finally got her Hogwarts Acceptance Letter and finally decided to take a break from it and make herself ready for the upcoming adventures and knowledge she will recieve in her new school.

Describe why this fits your character: Clementine is a natural collector; her keen eyes are always looking for little glimpses of a shimmer on the ground, or a flower with a particularly pretty shade of yellow, or even a hidden gem of a book. Looking at the people who raised her, it does not come as a surprise.
Caroline Pierce, Clem's mother, is a potioneer with a repurposed room in their home serving as her brewery. From a young age, her mother let her have a front row seat in the brewery with strict warnings not to touch anything. Of course, there were incidences where she did not listen and experienced the consequences. Because potion brewing requires the use of many types of strange ingredients, Clem was often sent on 'adventures' to gather them from their garden. As a result, Clem developed a habit of collecting bits and bobs she hoped might be useful for her mother.
Her father, Edwin Pierce, worked as a curator for the Museum of Muggle Curiosities and often brought home harmless trinkets that did not make it into any collections at the museum. Growing up fascinated by these unique items, Clem's initial motivation to collect things was simply to see her dad's reaction. Hunting for these objects seemed like a fun little game to her. After all, if she managed to uncover a secret treasure trove of peculiar items, her dad promised to take the family out to their favorite place to eat. However, after all the years of developing a curious nature she has grown to love the art of collecting for itself.
Now at Hogwarts, Clementine still possesses a collector's eye. Whenever she discovers a new area of the school she has never been in, her hands instinctively turn every stone over to find anything that she can slip into her pockets. One might even call her a rat with the way she seems to scuttle around the grounds.
Over the years, these trinkets and artefacts have been donated to her mother's exciting potion-making endeavors, or added to her very own collection. Curated by none other than Clementine herself, the items include a treasured, perfectly round, blue pebble; a beautifully etched piece of unidentified tree bark; scraps of paper with her favorite poems written on them; a jar of dirt containing a family of roly-polies, a stag beetle, a rhino beetle, some common weeds, and a few colorful flower petals; an assortment of gilded Gobstones gifted to her by her uncle Norman; and so much more.
Of all the items in this hoard, Clementine prizes her books the most. Some are limited edition hardcover copies of muggle stories, of which her favorite is The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes' by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Clem views the fictional detective with utmost respect because of his vast knowledge on certain materials and his ability to use that knowledge to be the world's greatest (and only) consulting detective. When she was 6 Dai made his first muggle friend. His grandmother wasn't happy, still slowly unlearning her pureblood ideology that she had been brought up in, but since her daughters marriage and her son-in-law's unfortunate death she's been more trusting of her daughters initiative. So when Dai came home from the park one day excitedly talking about this boy she met on the swings it only took one look at her sweet face and her daughters pleading look to let this one slide.
Dai had always been fascinated in muggle life- perhaps that's something she took from her father or maybe it's a subconscious coping mechanism of his loss, some way to feel closer to him by reliving his muggle-born childhood- but between the music and the sports she was never quite able to overlook the charms of the muggle creativity in their town that her grandmother tried so hard to hide or put down as lesser.
As little as his mother was around, usually busy working trying to make the money to get by without relying on her own mother, when she was she would encourage these interests- even going as far as learning a bit more herself of the muggle world. After all, she fell in love with that part of her husband too when she shouldn't have- so how could she fault her own child for doing the same. She took after him so much it almost hurt to look into his eyes and see the man she loved and lost so suddenly.
So from then on, Dai lived between 2 worlds- the remnants of her father looming over them as she played football in the park with groups of muggle children, and the ancestry of her mother watching as he listened to stories of the triumphs of the wizarding world. And if she’d always held a stronger soft spot for the simplicity of muggle culture, he’d keep that secret and close to his heart- even if her mother had already sensed that on her own. Maybe her grandmother didn’t need to know that she snuck out to art galleries to awe over the beauty of the imperfections of handheld brush strokes and how pictures were painted without the need for a magically animated self to tell their stories.
So when aged 11 he finally got his own letter to Hogwarts, deep in his heart it silently hurt for the loss of the liminal world she’d ended up growing up in. Somewhere deep down he knew the lessons she'd learned on the fields with those who only knew half of himself would stay with him even as she went off to a world they’d never known- even if it was just a simple well timed punch to a wizard who wouldn't know how to take it.

Ability: Corporeal Patronus Messenger
Describe why this fits your character: WC: 568
ReducioDespite the happenstance that led to the discovery of her patronus, Sabine considered the creatures to be the most sophisticated manifestation of the soul. An extension of your being, perhaps, such as an arm or a leg that operated as an extension of you. Maybe, then, her deep respect for her patronus was what made the relationship the two had possible.
The first instance she could remember was just months after her first conjuration of the patronus. Sitting at a desk at MACUSA, her quill scritch-scratching at the roll of parchment that was laid out on the desktop, she'd hardly deliberated. Files were stacked high around her, with papers barely stuffed into their folders and threatening to spill out across the desk that she otherwise would have meticulously organized, and there seemed to be no end in sight to the onslaught of work. With every creature she cataloged, sorted into their proper folders, four more seemed to pop up. To make matters worse, her work on Doxies didn't seem to be going anywhere at all. Sabine had been working tirelessly for a promotion, to claw her way into a dragonology expedition to Romania, but the barrage of work was never ending.
The worst part, however, wasn't even the workload. That Sabine could handle, if it weren't for the unfortunate friends that had made themselves at home in the basement. Chizpurfles were milling about everywhere, gnawing on papers and chewing on the stems of self-inking and spell-checking quills. Sabine had put in a work order, but all they'd done was send down Old Ron with pest control, and he'd grown so used to Chizpurfles that he regarded them as harmless little guys.
Sabine reached for her wand, gripping it sturdy in her hand. Perhaps the idea of utilizing her patronus as a messenger was a dumb one, but after the comfort she'd found in it early on, it seemed silly not to at least humor it. If it didn't work, the MACUSA basement was largely empty save for Old Ron. "If you don't work, I'll never forgive you," Sabine muttered beneath her breath. Of course she wasn't serious, but the embarrassment at having conjured a patronus for no good reason (or, even worse, being unable to conjure it at all) might very well kill her. "Expecto patronum."
If Old Ron wasn't already half blind, he might've turned from the coffee bar in confusion at the bright light that flashed through the room. It illuminated the dark basement in a hue that Sabine doubted the room had seen in years, possibly since its conception, and before her stood the gazelle she had become so familiar with. If nothing else, the infestation should be dealt with, and Old Ron seemed to welcome the Chizpurfles like old friends rather than pests. "Pest Control. Literally anyone but him," her voice was hushed and quick, and after a moment's hesitation, the spectral form bounded through the solid wall. Sabine had no way of knowing if it actually had gone to get help, but it seemed as good a time as any to play the waiting game. With a squeak of indignation, Sabine flicked a Chizpurfle off of her arm where it tried to crawl up her wand.
Pest Control was down in that basement within an hour. Sabine couldn't even complain: the promotion from basement to an official beast division employee wasn't bad, either.

Ability: Metamorphmagus
Describe why this fits your character:ReducioTori's mother, Vera, was born different from other witches. This is a metamorphmagus. She is a witch who can change her appearance as she wishes. But Vera was never one to boast about this. Because this feature almost destroyed his own family. Vera inherited her trait from her grandmother Tia. Vera's father's side was a very old-fashioned and strict family that emphasized blood status. When they heard about this characteristic of their grandmother, her husband divorced her, and since their own children looked more like their father, they acted as if their mother did not exist after the divorce and never contacted them again. When Vera was born, neither her father, her uncles, nor her grandfather thought that this trait had been passed on to her. When this feature of Vera was revealed at the age of 7, her father quarreled with her mother and as a result, she kicked them both out of the house. That's why Vera didn't want her talent to pass on to Tori because she was afraid that her family would break up again, but sometimes life doesn't go as planned.
When Victoria was little, she was a restless and inquisitive person who loved to investigate everything. Yes, she was like that when she was little, so she would often change the color of her hair in a way she did not want, but she did not realize it. Her mother didn't send her to school because she knew he couldn't control herself. Her father, on the other hand, did not see these differences in Tori because he spent most of his time in the greenhouse or had to be out of the country for his job.
Tori's father realized her difference when, at the age of 4, he was spending time with her at home in the greenhouse and witnessed her hair turning ice blue when she accidentally tripped over a plant and started crying. When her mother heard Tori crying, she tried to come quickly, but her father saw her now. Vera had to explain it there and took Tori's form in front of her father so that he would believe it. As a result, Vera's family did not break up as she thought, but Ryan was angry because she did not tell him this and realized that he needed to spend more time with his daughter and wife and stopped long trips.
When little Tori realized this talent, she started to dye her hair in different colors day by day and for some dinners, she made the limbs of the animals her father wanted. Vera, on the other hand, managed to overcome this fear when she saw that her family was not falling apart and that they were getting closer. The talent that caused his own parents to separate brought his own family closer. Before going to Hogwarts, she hadn't promised her mother that he wouldn't use her ability to get out of trouble. She didn't know what awaited her at Hogwarts, but she knew she was going to get into mischief.
