| Interaction with Amanda Sparrow |

Alaska was just about to remove herself from the large ensemble of campers before she heard a familiar voice call her name. She turned around to find that it was Amanda, the Ravenclaw from the bonfire last night. Great timing! Right before Alaska was about to embarrass herself sitting alone, someone had asked to be her partner. Smiling was now much easier than before, possibly because she felt less of an outsider now.
"Yeah, I'd love to be your partner!" Alaska replied to Amanda's request with as much optimism she could manage. Though she only met Amanda last night, she could tell this could be the beginning of a friendship. Amanda seems like the upbeat and outgoing person, which is quite the opposite from Alaska. Although Alaska does need someone like that.
Alaska took the initiative and started making her way towards the stack of baskets, now only with a few baskets left. "I'll go grab our basket." Alaska said as she walked in hopes that this can make a good first impression. She reached down and picked up a woven basket from the stack. It was lighter than it looked, but still very durable. She returned to Amanda and held out her arm, offering the basket.

Herbology Workshop

Dorothy couldn't help but crack a genuine smile. She had heard of this event nearly a week before it would take place, and hadn't hesitated in signing herself up. True, she wasn't exactly wild for Herbology like her other housemates were, but this would look good on her record and.. Well, it did take place in the Forbidden Forest. Dorothy felt as if she had explored every inch of Hogwarts during her time there. Except, of course, the Forbidden Forest. Curiosity affected her as much as it did any young girl, and she found the prospect of an informative adventure very intriguing.
However, this was a school event, which mean't that some sort of social aspect would take place during their trip. This thought had just crossed the young girl's mind when the teacher, Professor Sorrel, announced that they were to select 'basket buddies'. Dorothy flushed at the word itself. A 'buddy' wasn't exactly a realistic relationship in her eyes. Allies maybe. Her smile quickly faded as students around her spoke eagerly amongst themselves in an act of hurriedly becoming 'partners'. All around her that word rang with shrill resonance. She momentarily envied their ability to simply turn to the person next to them for companionship. Dorothy couldn't just pick anyone. This was now a strategic event based on status and reputation. Quickly glancing around, Dorothy searched for any recognizable pureblooded children. As far as she could see, there were none. The ones who had joined the event all seemed to be allied, no, 'buddied' with each other. Was that how you were supposed to use that word?
The girls train of thought was interrupted by a polite, even voice. She turned briskly to see a boy, a well-known boy, approaching her. He greeted her with a nod and her own title.

The girls train of thought was interrupted by a polite, even voice. She turned briskly to see a boy, a well-known boy, approaching her. He greeted her with a nod and her own title.
"Dorothy Proxima Centauri Dippet-Shafiq... right?"
Dorothy also nodded, dropping her eyes to the ground before evenly gazing at him. It was a long name given to her mostly by her stepmother, who seemed to enjoy gaudy, glamorous things. Her stepmother often asked that Dorothy use her last name, Shafiq, when introducing herself to people of importance. But how many names could one girl use? Do, had been invented in one of these moments of confusion. It was close to her true mothers last name, and Dorothy liked the way it sounded. Her parents had always told her that she couldn't just invent her own name. No, in their eyes there was still a choice to be made.
This boy was familiar. She recalled all the moments she had seen him. First, in the corridors, then the lock in, and finally at the bonfire. Had they ever really talked? No, she didn't think so. He was the Avery boy. Dorothy knew of the Avery's, partially because of their reputation, but mostly because her stepmother was so fascinated with them. Madam Shafiq saw the Avery's as a great opportunity for shared wealth. Not that she needed any more money. Because of her bloodlines, Merideth Shafiq had received quite the inheritance. Still, it wasn't uncommon for her stepmother to command Dorothy to speak to other purebloods for the sake of money. This Avery boy's name had often appeared in the contents of the letters sent from home. Maxwell Avery.
"We've met a few times, though the circumstances weren't conducive to great talking. Would you like to partner up for this?"
Of course. So he wished to partner with her? Perhaps he saw her estranged family as a business opportunity as well. It didn't matter. She needed a good partner, and she believed he'd do fine. Her stepmother would do cartwheels when she heard. Ridiculous women. Keeping a solemn expression, Dorothy made her reply. "And you're Maxwell Avery." Luckily his name wasn't difficult to pronounce. Speaking in a voice as smooth as silk, Dorothy continued to answer his request. "Of course. Thank you for asking me." She dropped her eyes to his hands to find that he hadn't grabbed a basket before asking her. Hmm. Her eyes snapped up to meet his again. "We should get a basket." She spoke in that same voice and gave a practice, polite smile. This should prove interesting.
Action: Agree to be Max Avery's partner, suggest the retrieval of a basket.

Aurelia was really reluctant when she put the name on the rice of parchment. But what else was there to do then to sit around and watch people around the lake? She hasn't intend to be at the camp in the first place but her parents were as usual too busy to take care of her when she was at home or apparate her anywhere else. It wasn't to bad going on an excursion like adventure with the herbology professor sorrel wright even though the brunette wasn't too fond of the subject herself.attempt to partner up with Parcelsus
The professor had instructed them to find a partner and pair up along with one basket for each pair. Aurelia glanced around in the room. There weren't that many people she was familiar with. Her best friend had probably went back home for the summer. That left her to find a new partner for every event in the camp. Aurelia spotted a familiar red head. Ami. The girl from the pick up quidditch game and the Hogwarts Express. Aurelia was about to call for her when she was dragged away by another students. She had been too slow. Aurelia glanced around the room once more. She then saw parcel, also another one form the quidditch game and was also a beater as well. The brunette went up to him. He already and a basket in hand.
" Hey Parcel, you look like you could use a partner"

Amadea had been sitting on the couch, basket in hand, listening to the other people chatting around her when another student approached. Amadea, startled, nearly fell off the couch, managing to drop her basket in the process. Of course, this clumsiness was nothing new. Amadea was definitely not the most graceful person. Shuddering, Amadea remembered how terrible her clumsiness could be...especially around plants.Interact with Angelina Silverberry
Her mind flashed back again to the day in the greenhouse with Rhea and the near death experience and the fire. Amadea quickly shut down that train of thought. It was going nowhere happy and Amadea wasn't going to let her past experiences ruin this for her, even if they were terrifying. Plus, she needed to respond to the girl who had just approached her.
Amadea didn't recognize the girl at all, and now that they were in their summer clothes, she could not deduct which house she was from, but nevertheless she plastered on a smile. "Yes, actually I am looking for a partner!" Amadea said, smiling. She picked up the basket from the floor. Thankfully, it seemed as though no harm had been done to it, as there were no dents or cracks visible. If she had done one thing right, at least there was that.
"My name is Amadea," she added on, as an afterthought, realizing she should probably introduce herself. "It's nice to meet you!"

Isabella Hills
Ami breathed a sigh of relief as Isabella accepted her offer to be partners, glad that she hadn't been rejected. Ooh, that would've been an awkward situation... the Hufflepuff shivered at the thought of being turned down. Good thing that didn't happen!
"They'd better let us," Ami snorted, rolling her eyes sarcastically. Moving away from the mass of students, and waiting for Isabella to follow, she moved towards the door, wanting to be the first ones out in the open "I've been itching to go in there for what, forever?" It was true, the forest had always given the girl a sense of allure, enticing her to enter its mysterious realm. Up until now, she had held out against its call, but standing so close to the forest... oh, how she wished to venture in. Hopefully, the two professors would allow it."Do you think we'll actually be allowed in the Forbidden Forest?"
"What cabin did you end up in?" Ami asked, remembering a topic that they had touched on during the Bonfire, when they had been discussing the different cabins and who they wanted to end up with. Trying to remember just exactly who Isabella had hoped she would get, Ami tapped her chin. Was it Sorrel? Maybe? "Did you end up with whomever you wanted?" There, that would work.

Interacting with Alaska Remillae
When Amanda asked Alaska to be her partner, Amanda could tell that the other girl was somewhat relieved.
Amanda grinned. “Ok, sounds good!” See, making new friends isn’t so hard, Amanda told herself. She had been worried when she first came to Hogwarts that she wouldn’t make any friends because she was from a whole different country. That’s part of the reason why she had decided to come to this summer camp instead of going home to California: to meet new people so she wouldn’t be alone at Hogwarts. And luckily for Amanda, Alaska seemed really kind and genuine, like most people here. Amanda was glad she reached out to the other girl. She could tell that this was the start of a great friendship. Alaska returned with the basket and offered it to Amanda. Amanda took it and smiled at Alaska. “Thanks,” she said. “I suppose we should strike up some conversation while we wait for the other professor to arrive.” Amanda couldn’t quite recall that particular professor’s name. Remembering names was not her strong point. “Do you live here in the United Kingdom?”Alaska: "Yeah, I'd love to be your partner! I’ll go grab our basket.”
“Oh, I may be on the side of the angels, but don't think for one second that I am one of them.”

A smile made his features slightly less sharp as he nodded, pleased that she had agreed. After seeing that letter from some nights before, it was clear she had the same inclinations to meet for business reasons - and both of them knowing each other's backgrounds would make it that much easier to act in a manner that would uphold his reputation. He could keep on an arrogant, cool mask without worry of offending someone's 'delicate sensibilities' or some such nonsense. And mischief against mudbloods wouldn't be as frowned upon if she was anything like the other purebloods whose mothers had come from Slytherin.
"Thank you for agreeing. I can grab one - I'll be back in a moment." Without waiting for a response, he navigated the crowd as best he could to slip through untouched in order to grab a basket. Perhaps it was rude to tell someone what you were going to do and then leave, but on the flip side it was polite to do something for your partner. Especially if that was navigating a crowd of first- and second-years whose stench of sweat was beginning to fill the room. Ah, summer. That wonderful time where pre-teens could clear out a room of other age-groups in a matter of seconds. Thinking about it now, he didn't envy the professors their jobs. He thought the smell was gross and he was used to it - he couldn't imagine how the professors must feel during class on hot days.
Managing to get through, he snagged one of the baskets and tucked it under an arm before making his way back to Dorothy, staring with flat annoyance at anyone who dared get too close. He hefted the basket up to show her as he returned, wondering if everyone would show up and if they'd all get claimed or not. "Picked out the lucky one," he said with the hint of a smirk, stopping when they were side by side. Now to wait, and then... the Forbidden Forest. He looked forward to that.
ACTION: Grab a basket and wait with Dorothy for further instruction

"Yeah, I live in Stratford, London." Instead of giving a short reply like she always does, she decided to continue some more personal information. It wouldn't hurt her if Amanda knew more about her, in fact it would probably be better if Amanda knew more about Alaska. Feeling slightly more comfortable, she leaned against the back of a sofa with her hands acting as support on top of the sofa. She looked out the window, with beams of sunlight shining through the floating dust particles that probably came from all the plants. After a few moments passed, she looked back at Amanda and started to talk about herself in hopes of improving their connection.
"I came to this camp so that I could make more friends, and to learn more about magic. Since I only formally discovered magic a year ago, I wake up everyday discovering something new." She looked down towards the floor and continued. "I was bullied for being different. Little did I know that it was my first signs of magic. No one liked me, and the only friends I had were some animals." Alaska guessed she was bearing her mark of depression towards a conversation again so she decided to brighten the mood up. "I'm glad I came to Hogwarts. The people here are different, kind, and understanding. How about you? Where are you from?"

❝Am I cursed to endure such pestiferous plodding for all eternity? Were they so gormless that even so simple a task as gathering their wits and finding partners was doomed to become a Brobdingnagian affair!? This is madness! What was Ms Wright thinking allowing so many to partake? At the very least, oust the half that slowed the rest so we can get on with it. It was all I could do to restrain myself. Seventeen minutes I have been standing some ways into the Forbidden Forest, having made my way through the back door of the hut much earlier. I had left Ms Wright to gather her students and give them the basic outline as to what our task for the day would be. It never occurred to me that even that would be a lesson in trials and tribulations. Why oh why had I offered my services? Why did I not lobby for a reagent run of my own?? Why do I always have to be so nice???
With silent steps and a natural grace that delineated me as the quintessence of elegance and beauty, I ghosted my way back to the hut, slipping in quietly through the back entrance just in time to hear one Ms. Remillae spouting on and on about frienship and feelings. "Is this what has been happening? A meet and greet? Truly!?" My words were addressed to the room en masse, but my eyes were fixed on Ms Wright where she sat, asking all the choice questions that I dare not utter before the delicate little children. "Seventeen minutes, Ms Wright! The forest is a dreadful place in which I have no wish to be present beyond a certain timeframe. The humidity is intolerable. My skin weeps in woeful lament. Do you wish such tragedy upon me? Do you wish to see me scorched beyond recognition? Am I truly so vile in your eyes that you would actively engage in my undoing?" A bit dramatic, but I needed to be heard.
My eyes flickered to the others in the room, who would have by now discontinued all their inane chatter. Then my eyes found the large basket atop the stone table. In an anfractuous manner, I made my way through the crush of tiny bodies and came to rest before the table, appraising the two large woven baskets with a nod. "This will do nicely." With that I accepted the one further away from Ms Wright and held it by the inner crook of my right arm before sauntering my way again to the back entrance. This needs to start soon or I might simply die in truly dramatic fashion. Before exiting, however, I turned to the room once more, this time addressing the students directly. "Do not keep me waiting further. Grab a basket, grab a partner and come." With that, I walked away, back into the forest where I would only wait for so long. ❞

Herbology Workshop

In iudicando criminosa est celeritas.
Cel picked at her food, eating barely anything off her plate, as was typical of her. She, instead, was daydreaming. It did not particularly look like she was daydreaming due to the fact that the far-off, distant look was really very usual of her expression, but daydreaming she was as she nibbled on the edge of a pancake. What was she daydreaming about? That was a matter untouched by the gazes of any except hers, and as soon as she ceased her mental soliloquy, her own stare would leave it as well.
Professor Wright's announcement jerked the girl out of her oblivion, and she tilted her head slightly to listen to the woman's words. "If you are attending the Herbology Workshop, it's time to go. Please follow me." Interesting; they were leaving now, were they not? Cel swung both legs over the edge of her seat and allowed her own momentum to carry her forward, toward the path outlined in the Herbology professor's florally-scented steps. Rose had always been her favorite flower scent apart from, of course, the chocolate aromatized Chocolate Cosmos. They did not, however, seemed to be traveling toward the Forbidden Forest of wild bushes and thorns; instead, indicated by the cursive sign, it seemed they were headed toward Professor Wright's Herbology Hut.
She'd heard of the place through hearsay, rumors that she had not decided to yet confirm, and as she entered, Cel gave a slight smile, no more than a tilting of her lips at the corners. It was a quaint little cabin, decorated simply and Professor Wright-y as she might expect. With a small sound of dismay at the taken couches and seats, the girl darted toward one of the last available spots on a couch, thanking the fact that she was small enough to fit. As Professor Wright resumed speech, she simply observed, taking in the details pining for attention at the edges of her vision.
A start. Professor Valtome would be helping? He did already teach a lesson in concord with Professor Wright, although the pair's like or dislike of one another were both quite unclear. Well, better for her. Two of my favorite professors in the same event. Truly fortunate. But the anterior statement caught her attention quite more. Partners. What was it with this school and forcing social interaction upon its introverted students?
Decidedly Cel told herself she would not earn a partner unless approached-- after all, there were twenty-five student attendees in total and thirteen baskets, meaning that there would be one lucky soul with a basket to him or herself. However, if she did acquire a partner, she would not refuse the offer-- and so she simply stayed seated, a cool air of nonchalance about her small form.
The girl did not need to wait long as a familiar scarf-adorned face-- or, well, the scarf was on his neck, that didn't really count as the face, did it?-- drew near. There was, noticeably, a large... was... was that an umbrella? Well, an umbrella dragged behind the boy's steps. Quite interesting, that was, but he was clearly making his way toward her-- her section of the room was quite deserted aside from her own presence.
"We're a team," he stated bluntly. She was not irritated, she was not annoyed; only the faintest of chuckles escaped her pool of emotion at his frank, decided wording. Cel dipped her head in a silent semblance of acceptance, or at least agreement, to his not-so-inquiring statement as he wandered off to retrieve a basket-- hey, the less work for her, the better. A curtain of dark hair fell into her face and she raised a hand to brush it away, but she did not rise from her seated position, not just yet. Don't be lazy, she scolded herself before another voice in her head quipped, I'm not being lazy, I'm just conserving energy. Laziness is why humans invent things. Well. Fair enough.
After all, Kaegen would be one of the only people among the mass that she might be familiar with. You need to get out more, a voice began to chide again in her mind before another snapped, Oh, shut up already. Both fell silent, and she could think again. There were a few faces she'd seen in the hallways, a couple she had exchanged brief words with, one who was her dormmate, but still she was more familiar with the strange slingshot-toting boy.
As Professor Valtome entered the room, Cel could not help but grin as he expressed his Brobdingnagian displeasure, even as she pitied Professor Wright in the onslaught of complaint. Such thespian words-- a work of art, in a sense, at least. His presence, however, always resulted in several words of melodramatic magniloquency. One might call them mellifluous, but really, what was it with words and the prefect mel? She would need to look that up when the Herbology Workshop ended.
With the Potions professor's entrance, however, they would likely be departing soon, especially with the flare of vexation that had entered the room along with him. She shifted in her seat-- Cel herself had little to worry about; she and Kaegen could leave now if they needed to, it was the other students who seemed to need a small push, for Professor Valtome seemed to use hyperbole in nearly every statement-- scolding the students as well as Professor Wright was, of course, no exception. And so she waited.

Action: Accept Kaegen's forcefully dccided partnering request and follow Professor Valtome.
