Cabin Of The Phoenix
A smile spread across Isabella’s face as the girl took the gobstone from her hand. She was glad she was able to see sense and come back in the cabin, even if it meant those mean old flobberworms were in there with her. They must of done something to her, she couldn’t get this worked up over a pair of odd boys for nothing, could she? Surely not.
“Great! I’m sorry but I never caught your name? Mines Isabella, Isabella Hills, but you can call me Bella for short.” As much as she tried, she couldn’t keep her teeth from chattering as she spoke. The cold was beginning to freeze her, turning her skin cold and depriving her of the little warmth she had left on her face, arms and legs.
“Come on then, we don’t want to spend all night outside do we? Who knows what sort of creepy crawlies could get us - they’d be worse than boys.” With that sentence, she turned and almost ran back inside the cabin to get warm again.
Walking across the room to the other gobstones meant walking past the two flobberworms that were currently talking to the poor, unfortunate Hufflepuff prefect. They had probably disappeared, smashed or ruined something in the short time they had been outside and were getting told off by the girl left in charge. As long as nothing of hers had been ruined, she was perfectly fine with that. In fact, she almost hoped they were getting told off. She certainly wouldn’t mind if the prefect gave them a good whack around the head while she was at it either.
But sadly, as she walked past she discovered they were not getting told off - they were simply talking about some silly worm. She frowned as one of the boys said something along the lines ‘but as a girl, you probably wouldn’t like him.’ Was this an example of the stereotyping her aunt had warned her about when she had been sorted into Slytherin? She hadn’t even known what the word meant until her aunt had explained about how most people though Slytherin was a bad house, and how they passed that down to their children - isolating the house from the other three as if the evil that was spoken about was somehow contagious. Plus, not everyone in the snake house could be evil. She wasn’t evil, was she? No, she couldn’t be. An evil person wouldn’t of just gone outside to try and coax someone inside.
Did this boy think that girls didn’t like worms because they were girls? He couldn’t really be that stupid. She was a girl, and she loved worms. As a child, she had gone worm hunting with her father after rainfalls. And even now, she simply loved worms and was always happy to see one. Her father had told her worms made the soil happy, which made plants grow more. So if worms made soil happy, what wasn’t there to like about them?
Angered by the way this boy was stereotyping half of the worlds population, and how he must of done something to the girl outside, she did the meanest thing her twelve year old brain could think of at the time - she stuck her tongue out at the boy. It was childish and unnecessary, and what followed made her seem miles. less mature than she actually was. “Nasty little flobberworm.” Her voice was just loud enough for those around her to hear. Unsure of whether or not the boy the childish insult was aimed at had heard, she continued on to her bunk, brushed the gobstones out of way, and sat down with a huff.
Reducio
Y’all let the thread die. Tsk tsk, do I have to do everything around here?
pARCEL you have the honour of getting insulted by a twelve year old Bella, if you couldn’t already tell. Have fun with Bart while you still have him, Bella might end up squishing him at some point.

Cabin Of The Phoenix

Serena quirked an eyebrow a little as she overheard some words. 'It's almost like she thinks we're the ones with cooties'. What did the Gryffindor boy mean by that? Of course they were the ones with cooties - they were the boys. The girl that yelled at them clearly had some sort of reason to. They were the ones infected with cooties, going around trying to make matters worse for all of the girls around. The Hufflepuff Prefect rubbed her nose with her hand but said nothing. The boy was talking to Reid at this point in time, not to her. It was simply something she overheard and decided not to think anything of it.
After a while, Serena went up to question the two boys about the former girl's behaviour. The Parasite boy claimed that he did not do anything. She raised her eyebrow, wondering what had happened to the girl if he was being truthful on the matter. Perhaps it was simply because they were boys, perhaps someone had hurt her. Serena understood the latter very well. "Bart?" She repeated, as she looked at him with a quizzing expression on her face. Apparently the pair of boys had a worm in a box. She opened her mouth to question this. Why in Merlin's name did they have a worm in a box? Would it not get a bit suffocated in there?
But something caught her attention. Did he just say... 'you' and 'kiss' in the same sentence? Again? It sounded like he was going to say the word 'kiss' but stopped himself. She blinked at him. His earlier words flashed in her mind. The first and only time they had met before this, Serena asked him if he was okay as he had been beaten in the duel and seemed injured. He pushed her away, seemed scared and randomly said the words 'I will not kiss you' to her. At that time, she thought she misheard. Of course he did not say that. Why would he randomly say that, right? Wrong... She blinked, sure that he was going to say that again this time. He even spoke about cooties before. What the heck was wrong with this boy? Why did he think she would do such a gross thing?
Serena looked down, away from the boy. Did he really think she would do... well that? She could not even say it out aloud and yet he thought she would do that to him... That she wanted to do it... The idea that someone would even think that of her was hurtful. How could he claim she was that sort of person?
The boy continued to explain that the reason he had a worm in a box. He claimed that he would show her it but she would not like the worm because she was a girl. Serena blinked. Were girls meant to be afraid of worms? She had always been fascinated by creatures. In her childhood, she was always made to wear proper dresses and act ladylike.
Occasionally, she would sneak out of the house or manage to convince her nanny to talk her outside. When she was in a park, she loved sitting in the mud. It was something that she had never been allowed to do around her family. It was fun. She felt like a rebel. Since coming to Hogwarts, she had spent countless hours in the grounds. Most of her free time was spent sitting in the grass. Worms and other insects were a given when one spent as much time on the grounds as she did. They were kind of cute. Serena was a Hufflepuff through and through. The stereotype of Hufflepuffs and their love for animals rang very much true for her.
Serena was so confused by this boy. Glancing around, she spotted the dozens of plants around. They were in the Cabin of the Phoenix, for Merlin's sake! The very Cabin that was run by the Plant Loving Herbology Professor Wright. How could he even claim that she would not like a worm but be willing to stay in a cabin full of worms? Everyone knew that these plant pots probably had a whole bunch of them. It was just common sense.
Before she said anything, however, she spotted another girl - the former Slytherin Prefect, in fact. She heard the words that the girl said, aimed at the parasite - or perhaps at his worm. Blinking, she sighed. "... Ri-right..." She muttered, her eyes starting to water. Did the Parasite bring a worm into the cabin with the hopes of scaring girls away? To scare someone like her away, one that he thought had cooties or wanted to do that to him? This was ridiculous but it hurt her. She could not believe someone thought that badly of her. "N- no, it's fine." Serena replied as she turned away from the boys and went straight for her bed. If he did not want her near him for whatever reason, she would play along. Even though she did not understand what she did wrong. In fact, did she do anything wrong? All she ever did to him was try to make sure that he was healthy, that he was safe. Serena tried to make sure he went to the hospital if he needed to. She was simply doing her job as Prefect and Duel Moderator and that was all. She never had the intention or desire to do anything else. She honestly could not understand what she did to deserve this... Did she even do anything?
Her bed was located closer to the Slytherin girl's, which gave her a chance to interact with her. "Hey, you okay?" She asked the girl, who seemed to have been affected by the parasite too. Her back was to the boys but Serena raised her hand and rubbed her eyes to prevent the tears that wanted to flood her face. She really hated this. It just hurt, knowing someone was being mean to you and not knowing why or what you did to deserve it.

Cabin Of The Phoenix
"Hey, you okay?" With three words, the Hufflepuff prefect managed to interupt her trail of thought. Usually, she would of been angry and pissed off when someone interrupted her her time. Isn't it obvious to people that she was busy thinking? It's like they somehow thought that she wasn't busy, and was in need of company. But this time, she wasn't overly bothered by the fact she had been interrupted. Her thoughts had mostly been about making up insults for the pair of self-righteous flobberworms that sat merely a few steps away from her. Plus, there wasn't exactly a happy vibe coming off the Hufflepuff prefect - and she'd choose cheering up another person over being stuck in her thoughts any day.
"Yea, I'm fine. Are you ok though? Did those self-righteous, incoherent, disgusting little flobberworms hurt you? I swear to Merlin if they did I'll go give them a whack around their head - maybe it will knock some manners into them." The 'big words' that had come out of her mouth surprised her. Her mother had been giving her a word of the day for years now, but she had never thought any of them had stuck.
While her threat to whack them around the head wasn't entirely true, she would certainly go over there and yell at them if they had done anything to hurt this girl. The rubbing of her eyes and unhappy sound of her voice was a dead give away to the fact that she wasn't as happy as she should be.
"I don't think we've met properly by the way. I'm Isabella, Isabella Hills. But you can call me Bella for short." Her mother had brought her up in such a way that she now considered it rude not to introduce herself to people, even if they knew each other's name. It was one of the weird little quirks that had stuck with her over the years.
The presence of boys in the cabin made her slightly nervous. She had grown up learning that boys were unpredictable and dangerous. And while she knew it was a bit over-exaggerated, it wasn't an easy task to drop something she had thought was true for years. So naturally, they still made her nervous and - even though she would never admit it out loud - slightly afraid of them as well.
She knew from experience that fear caused people to do things they didn't entirely mean, and she was no exception. A memory from her childhood was still fresh in her mind, and it was the perfect example of what people did when scared.
At 8 years old, she had still struggled to control outbursts of magic every now and again. Her aunt had taken her to a park one day, and she had escaped from her sight. A boy had seen an out burst of magic from her and had demanded to know how she did it. Even though it had turned out fine in the end with the assistance of her aunt, the event had traumatized her and had fuelled her thought that all boys were nasty little flobberworms that were not to be bothered with.
What concerned her now though, is what she might do to the pair of flobberworms sitting over there. As far as she knew, they were harmless - if not a little bit stupid at times. As much as she might hate someone, she would never wish to see them hurt.
What concerned her was how her twelve year old mind worked. She would think something was a good idea before and during the time she was doing it, and regret it after. As much as she hated to admit it, most of her idea ended up with someone getting hurt - most of them unintentionally.
