| ─── | There were so many people inside!
It was great but also chaotic at the same time, even if not everyone was speaking at the moment. Even though the cabin was fairly large, having a large amount of people inside made it seem small. Tone had a decision to make. Who should he go after to make his friend first? There were so many options!!! Yes, he was determined to become friends with everyone in his cabin before summer ended. But he liked to focus all of his attention on one person at a time. It made them feel like he was truly interested in them and not just because they were just there. Once he'd lost sight of them, he'd move on to another person for a short time.... Until he found the previous person again and then he'd redouble his efforts to snatch them up! Once he'd achieved his goal to make his target his friend, he'd move on to the next one. Of course, if any of his new friends needed him for something, he'd drop everything to spend some time with them. He didn't neglect the friends he'd already made in favor for making new ones. Maybe the more friendly ones should be the first to get under his belt, they would be easy to win over and then he'd just be left with the more difficult ones here! A girl with glasses thanked him. She was the owner of one of the two pets he'd noticed, as she'd thanked him directly after his words. Tone smiled at her as she pushed up her glasses and then moved to lie down on her bunk. Ah, well it made sense that she'd be tired, this was the first day of camp and everyone had come from a distance. Well, everyone but Hogwarts students. He'd give them all a pass if they didn't try and help out for now. After all, being tired did drain you of energy which was understandable. He'd only bug the first one he set his sights on to become his friend to help him out a little. But who should it be? An Asian girl came over to thank him. Most likely for the cuteness comment he'd made earlier, which implied she was the other owner of the two pets he'd mentioned before. "Of course! I mean it's the truth, they are really cute! Which one's yours?" Tone asked her, curious as to whether the ferret or the rabbit was hers. Just because it was playing on someone's bed didn't necessarily mean the pet belonged to them. Pets were strange creatures and went wherever they wanted to go. After all, his parents' cat at home roamed all over. It didn't have a specific place. The Asian girl agreed with his earlier words. About sprucing the place up a little to make it look a bit more lively and less dead and doom and gloom. Alright, he'd go after her first. She'd be his first target to make into his friend. The girl seemed quite friendly to him which meant it shouldn't take long for him to accomplish this feat. "Sounds like fun! Do you have all the things you mentioned to decorate with in your trunk? Or do we need to find the materials?" Tone asked the girl and abruptly realized he'd forgotten about introductions. The teen tended to forget things sometimes when he got overly excited. Summer camp 100% counted as making him excited. "I'm Hiro. But I like to go by my quidditch nickname, Tone. What's your name?" He said, glancing from one girl to the other one, waiting for a response. Origami garlands sounded like a good idea to decorate the cabin with, they'd just need a lot of materials to cover the entire place with some well-placed garlands. Did she have enough or would they need to find the materials for more? He didn't think a ton were necessary, just at least ten to spread throughout the cabin and make it a bit more lively now for the students. That was when someone else entered the cabin. Tone quickly turned around to flash a bright smile at the newcomer and ran over to greet him. Of course, his way of greeting someone was to try and wrap his arms around them and give them a hug because he was someone who loved skinship with others. "Welcome to the Thestral Cabin! I'm Tone. You are?" Tone asked, giving out his quidditch nickname for now. "We're just starting to think about how to decorate the cabin to make it look more inviting to others. Do you have any ideas?" He inquired, waiting for him to respond to his words. Would he give suggestions or not be able to think of any? If he'd been able to hug him earlier, Tone would release him now and step back a little to regard him. |

1/07/23Summer Camp. Yet another Hogwarts camp Kayla was attending this year.
After an exciting year at Hogwarts, her first year had come to an end and she had come to summer camp. Obviously, Kayla would've loved to be home, but summer at Hogwarts was something she wanted to experience. And people from other schools were visiting once more, and Kayla hadn't met much foreign students, so she wanted to meet more people and more potential friends.
Once Kayla got assigned a cabin, she cocked her head at the irony of being in the threstral cabin. Not like she minded, she didn't care which cabin she was assigned to. As long as she had fun. And Squeaky too, of course. Yes, the little ferret was joining Kayla at camp. Of course she was, wherever Kayla went, Squeaky followed. Most of the time anyway.
She heaved her trunk into the room and already saw a variety of people she hadn't recognised. She only knew one person, but she couldn't say she knew her very well. This was going to get interesting. People were already chatting and Kayla, before deciding to interact, decided to first wisely choose a bed. Immiedetly Squeaky ran from Kaylas side and scaled the wall in a matter of seconds, getting to the top of a bed, whose occupant was at the bottom bunk. There was a trunk on the side of the bed which made Kayla assume that there was someone there. Well atleast she had a bunkmate.
"'I'm not even going to ask how or you did that," Kayla said to Squeaky, rubbing her had before she set the expanding file she had been carrying on the bed, as well as her bag. Kayla turned her attention to the room of people- so many! Kayla was certainly excited to socialise and befriend everyone.
"Hello, everyone!!" Kayla said to her fellow cabinmates.

It was one thing to be forced to travel to Uagadou for schooling, to leave her tribe for something that was 'outside.' It was another to be in another land, faraway from home, all by a simple thing called a 'portkey.' The travelling made her slightly ill. It was nothing like riding a broom. At least with a broom, Chuki could experience the winds and natural turns of the world. A portkey? Unnatural.#ffffff ⭑ Uagadou ⭑ Open to Interactions
But her chieftress insisted she travel the outside more. For what reason, it was beyond Chuki's own guesses. Punishment, was the worst one.
As if the 'outside' wasn't already pricking at Chuki's discomfort, she's faced with watching a student ready to use his wand against another, a bundle of students suggesting ways to decorate the cabin. And the cabin. Well, the decorating part was reasonable.
Chuki heard of thestrals. Though she would never have seen one before. Her aunts and sisters would talk about them, with many having their own stories of their time before arriving to Mwanamke. Her mother most certainly seen one before. Something to do with death. A giant, dark beast. Sounded like something out of a bad nightmare. It was up to Chuki's imagination how such a creature could be found outside of a forest-like land.
It's no wonder the cabin looked deathly. Was it supposed to scare people?
But the interior gave off a different feeling. The whiteness almost blends with her school's uniform. As if the chaos that was ranging around her was gone, Chuki easily carried her trunk in a midst of silence to a far off bunk. Whoever would decide to bunk with her would be lucky to find themselves allowed to choose. The only things that threw her off from the cabin inside was, of course, the boy ready to fight any and all, the military-like fashion that Durmstrang place seems to have on their students, and smaller kids working to carry their own trunks inside. The poor trigger happy boy didn't look so frightening with that stick in his hand however. Compared to her aunts who don't even need such a tool to get a message across.
The only things familiar to Chuki, was a few faces she vaguely recalled from Uagadou. But the school was filled with various students from all over Africa. Despite her discomfort, Chuki took the time to expect the entire cabin, moving her hands across curtains, touching the surfaces of tables and chairs.
It was far different from her tribe's handiwork of making furniture on their own. If any of the furniture broke, would it have to be only fixed by a magical stick, or would there be anyone who can simply fix it themselves?
As Chuki's hand gently brushed a curtain's threads, she finally spoke in clear English. She didn't take the time to even bother to look at anyone any further with her cloudy eyes, having just enough details from her partial vision to make things out completely.
"It's not shameful to be scared. A single zebra amongst lions should have every reason to be." She turned back around, leaving the curtain alone. Finally, she took to sitting down in one of the white couches, laying her body on it. "Uagadou has softer furniture. Hogwarts must leave their students with bad backs."@Clark Baird

Aly had arrived on time to summer camp for once, which was surprising considering she hadn't expected to be allowed to attend at all this year. With her father gone, she'd expected to spend the summer trapped in her home in Welwyn Garden City once again, similar to how she had spent late December through the end of May; however, despite having barely spoken to her mother Hesper and not even asking if she could attend the camp at Hogwarts this year, she'd come downstairs that morning to find her bags neatly packed and Becca, the family house-elf, ready to whisk her away to a place where she could Portkey to the school campgrounds. She hadn't even said a word of goodbye to her mother.
Honestly, it was probably for the best.
Despite Portkeying there on time, however, Aly had quickly found herself delayed by the massive crowds of other Hogwarts students; she'd waved hi to some she knew, then waited until the registration lines had died down a bit before joining to find hers out. Of course, she'd been thrown off a bit by her name listed under the Thestral cabin residents. Thestral? Seriously? Could Hogwarts have gotten any more ironic with their choice of cabin for the young Ravenclaw? After being escorted to the Thestral cabin, even then, it took a moment for Aly to gather up the courage to step through the imposing door with its dark skeletal horse emblazoned proudly on the front.
Sure, she may not have been the happy-go-lucky flower girl she'd been in past years, but Aly Salinger was still no Gryffindor, and the idea of being a Thestral creeped her out a bit. How... morbid.
Stepping through the door, however, eased her fears somewhat. She'd expected the interior of the cabin to be dark, creepy perhaps, but it was surprisingly light and airy, with white curtains surrounding lofted beds and a lovely light wash on the wooden walls. The only odd thing was the silence; sure, there were noises from the people in the cabin - Merlin, how did I still end up sort of late? - but the second the door closed behind her, the bustle and chatter of the out-of-doors, the bird chirps, the rustling of leaves... all gone. Vanished, like they were never even there.
Instead, the ambient noise was replaced with the folks around her, the other residents of the cabin, and as Aly looked from face to face, she recognized not even a single one, other than perhaps a vague familiarity from being around the castle at school and passing by in the corridors. Some older, some younger, but not even one friend of hers... albeit, that group was fairly small these days, but still.
Two boys and a girl who all looked like they were older, probably only by a year or two as Aly was an incoming fifth-year, were standing together; the girl especially was by one of the beds, seemingly unpacking already on the lower bunk. Well, that wasn't a half-bad idea. And the top bunk looked empty, thus far, which was a plus for Aly. From broomsticks to ledges to towers, the teenager had always liked high places.
She approached the girl, casting a sideways glance at the two boys; she recognized none of them, per se, but better to chat with elder students than end up bunking with a first-year. Not that the first-years in the cabin seemed rowdy or rough, but still... she was a fifth-year now, and the lovely creature would have rather talked O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s than Sortings.
Aly cleared her throat, trying to step into the elder trio's space without necessarily seeming like she was invading. Her confidence had vastly improved this last year, but making new friends could still be... nerve-wracking, to say the least. And who was to say they'd end up friends in the long run, if at all? But she digressed. "'Scuse me," the Ravenclaw said, a bit quietly, waving her lone free hand in a halfhearted gesture of greeting; her other still clutched her trunk, white-knuckled at her side. "Not trying to interrupt. But is that bunk taken?"
She gestured to the top bunk above the girl's half-unpacked lower bunk, cocking an eyebrow. Of course, there were still a few completely empty bunks, but it would be better to choose her own bunkmate than to pick an empty one and risk someone choosing her, instead. Aly preferred to make her own decisions, thank you very much.
Hopefully, this one wouldn't backfire.

There were so many people to choose from and Tone couldn't help but feel excitement rush through him. How many would become his friends before summer was over? Only time would tell but Tone really hoped he could get all of them. Or at least the majority of them. As a girl (Kayla) passed by him, the pink haired teen couldn't help but notice the rat with her. He always could spot an animal or creature when they went around with others, especially if they were on their own. Tone raised a hand and waved at her when she greeted everyone. The rat was such a cutie! Tone would have gone over to physically welcome her with a hug. But he didn't want to leave Reuben and Olive at the moment. The nearly fourteen year old noticed the girl had chosen his bunk bed as her own. She'd claimed the empty top bunk and the cute rat was making its home there. Tone's attention was drawn away from the girl when two more entered the cabin. A really cool looking girl (Chuki) emerged from the outside. "Hey! Welcome to the Thestral Cabin!" Tone called out to her from his current position. The other one was a girl who looked like a higher year than most residents. If he had to guess, he'd guess she was a Hogwarts student? But she could have been from Ilvermorny too he supposed. "Good to have you at the Thestral Cabin!" Tone called out, welcoming the girl (Aly) to the cabin. She seemed interested in taking the top bunk of a girl who had already partially unpacked her things on the bottom part. |

Reuben was taken by surprise by the sudden hug, but it didn't take him time to hug the other person back. Oh how good it felt to be interacting with so many people. Reuben was a lover of physical touch, and while others might resent hugs, he couldn't imagine a life with them.
"Nice to meet you Tone! You're right, the cabin is in serious need of some redecoration, although I'm not sure everyone would like that.", she said eyeing some of the older students who seemed to like the cabin as it was. "We could add some flowers from outside though, might make the cabin look more inviting from the outside. Or the other people out there could think we're some psyches stretching weirdly. Not that that matters", he continued, a small grin on his face.
It was then when another girl entered and greeted everyone, ferret in hand. Reuben grinned and greeted her too. "Hey new person! Lovely ferret you got there." Reuben wondered if the ferret would go around causing trouble in the cabin. He sure hoped not.
Reuben watched as another person entered the tent. This face seemed familiar. Yet another person from Uagadou, only he wasn't someone Reuben had interacted with much during the school year. That did not stop him from throwing a greeting, though. "Hey! Guess we're going to have plenty of people from Uagadou in this cabin!", he said, flashing a grin, hoping that the other guy wasn't judging him for not being a part of the African tribe.

It had been a few weeks since Lucy had seen her best friend. And she was seeing him again today. Théo had stopped comming to school by mid-June to help his parents because they were moving to France. He was going to Beauxbatons next year and she was going to Hogwarts, with his sister. Amélie and Lucy were waiting for Théo's arrival but after half an hour, both girl decided to go see their respective cabins.
For her birthday, a month ago, her step father had gave her an enchanted satchel and Lucy was very gratefull about it. She didn't want to have to walk everywhere with a huge trunk when she could have a satchel. So there she was, walking here and there, with her satchel and a tote bag. After a few minutes, she went to see in what cabin she would pass the next month and walked there.
When Lucy arrived in front of the cabin, she frowned. The list of student of the cabin was almost reaching twenty people but the cabin seemed like it could only fit five. It was either a mistake, or a Wizard thing. She opted for the wizard thing and entered the Thestral Cabin. Inside, there was already a lot of people and she looked like the youngest. Not the only first year, but the youngest of the group.
— Uh... Hi! I'm Lucy.

Blue in English, Red in KoreanUnlike the most, Eun-ji was not going to the summer camp to join all the activities and bond with fellow students. She had managed to push away all her friends and had no plans of making a new ones here. No. She was just planning to enjoy some peace and quiet. Ever since the Hunts showed up in her life and monopolized all her time during holidays, she never got to come to this yearly event. Hence this time, the Ravenclaw simply decided not to ask and stay at Hogwarts once the school year ended. Of course, she had informed her father about it in advance. Or well…she asked her uncle in France to call him in her stead. Sending an owl straight home was out of question. Her grandmother would for sure monitor the incoming letters and cause a scene. “Thankfully”, Morgana was no longer in the picture so Eun-ji had no need to rush home. She felt a bit sorry for poor Charles though. A month in the company of her rotten grandparents? That was bound to be tough. She made a request for him to be allowed to enter her house, should he need an escape but it still wasn’t an ideal situation to be in. Especially since Kim was here as well...
The witch sighed, fixing her sunglasses as she made her way towards the assigned cabin. She actually liked this one. It fit her current mood perfectly and the fact that it had a tendency to disappear and not let outsiders in was simply sublime. She was not eager to meet her temporary roommates however, she wasn’t too worried. Surely, they would leave her alone once they saw her lack of interest in any of them. Well…at least Dee was going to be there. Eun-ji was used to her presence well enough. They have been part of the duelling team for years now and they got each others backs during the sport more than once. Other than her, she only knew Aly but that was mostly because she used to date Aaron. The two girls never actually had any deeper interactions so she’d consider her an acquaintance at best. The rest of the names were more or less strangers to her and she planned to keep it that way.
Taking a deep breath, Eun-ji quietly entered the Thestral cabin. There were already plenty students roaming around so she had to make sure not to bump into anybody. Luckily it was not just kids but some people her age as well. Still, she did not intend to stop for a chat with any of them. Perhaps if she pretended to be invisible long enough, she might will herself out of existence like the wooden house, she was currently staying in.
“Hey! Welcome to the Thestral Cabin!” Wait. The Ravenclaw recognised that voice. It was the sparkly boy from the ball, wasn't it? He did not track her down again after their initial run in back then so she quickly forgot about him but apparently, fate would not let her escape his clutches so easily. It would be hard to avoid him, living in the same building and all but Eun-ji fully intended to try. For now, he seemed busy enough greeting pretty much everybody that entered the door. He reminded her of a hotel porter. In that case, it shouldn’t be hard to slip by. The witch thought as she gracefully waltzed around all the other newcomers as far from the boy as she possibly could. She did not stop to greet anybody and simply chose a bunkbed that was still entirely empty. That way she didn’t have to ask anybody’s permission and could simply start unpacking her stuff in peace.

| ─── | Tone was quite spontaneous.
He flitted from one person to the next and his energy tended to be infectious and extremely bright. If those he had been talking to responded to him, he'd immediately divert his attention to them. On the other hand, if they ignored him, he'd focus on someone else to occupy his time. But he wouldn't forget about the previous ones. Eventually, he'd make his way back over to them too. Just because someone ignored him or treated him badly, didn't mean he would give up on them. There were so many people in the cabin and Tone was in heaven. No one could escape him in here! Well, they could by leaving the cabin, but he'd find them all. Eventually they would need to come back to the cabin! And he could pounce on them when they returned. Reuben seemed like a nice person! Very welcoming, just like Tone was! The pink haired teen knew they'd become good friends. "Hm. You're right. Maybe we should just add some color and life to the cabin but not go overboard with it. We can't just leave it the way it is. Doom and gloom doesn't exactly give off a good impression for the cabin!" He said and looked over at Reuben again. "I don't have anything though at the moment." It was a shame he hadn't brought much to decorate the cabins with, but then again he hadn't known. "Maybe we can decorate it with Poster Girl (Olive) together. I saw the schedule and it seems as if there are lots of events taking place. Maybe some of them are crafting ones and we can do some crafts and bring them back to the cabin to decorate the area!" Tone suggested, waving Poster Girl over to them. Reuben's next idea made him smile. "Right! Flowers can always make things look nicer inside! I have some string somewhere..." He'd actually packed some into his backpack.... "We could gather a bunch of flowers, tie a few together into various bundles and then place them all over the cabin." The pink haired teen said with a wider smile. It would be quite easy for them all to do, considering there were flowers all over the place outside. What a great idea Reuben had come up with! A new girl entered the cabin and Tone waved to her with a smile on his face. "Hey, Lucy! It's great to have you here in our cabin!" He called out. That was when a familiar face entered directly behind her.... It must have been destiny for the two of them to meet again like this. "FREYA!!!!!!!" Tone exclaimed, his energy overflowing from him, as the tall girl tried to sneak by. He was happy to see her again and rushed over to try and wrap his arms around the girl (Eun-ji) who had just placed her things next to an empty bunkbed that hadn't been claimed. "Freya! I've missed you! I couldn't find you at the ball last time. I was looking for you all over the place... I even tried searching for you near the end when the fires spread. Did you already leave by then?" Tone asked, his lips forming into a slight pout, as he waited for her to respond to his words. He'd finally found her! The pink haired teen had targeted her before but had lost her and hadn't been able to find her until now. |

Alemayehu felt sick. It had been his first travel by portkey and he hated it. He was used to fly on a broom as they had always stuff to carry around. Portkey?! Never again!! he thought to himself, dreading the way back home already.
But now they had finally made it and Alemayehu was glad to feel whole and normal again. The feeling of being portkeyed was even worse than his sickness right now.
Now, he was getting excited to finally be there: at Hogwarts. The school that his dad had attended. They arrived at a small village, Hogsmeade, the professor that accompanied them had said. They were brought to a clearing in the woods. Cabins were placed there and a few other buildings and the place was filled with a lot of students running around. When they were given the instructions, it dawned on him, that they won't be seeing Hogwarts castle from the inside. And they were even quite far away, so he had only had the chance to get a short glimpse on its pointy towers. How disappointing. He had heard all the stories from his father's school time and had been eager to visit the school itself.
However, here they were, in the woods and they were going to stay in those cabins. Not so different from what I know from home, he sighed and consulted the information they got upon arrival. He was assigned to the Thestral cabin and his mood lightened up when he saw a familiar name: he was sharing a cabin with his friend Reuben. Awesome he exclaimed and seeing him just enter the cabin, he hurried after him.
Alemayehu carried only a rather small suitcase as well as his broom. As more or less nomads, he owned the enchanted suitcase as long as he can think back and it can hold about almost anything he owns, which is not too much and he also didn't bring everything. And the broom he takes basically everywhere as long as he is allowed. And even though a Uagadou broom racing team couldn't be formed, he took it just in case there might be someone up for an unofficial ride or game.
Thestral cabin, he thought as he made his way. He read about these creatures, which can only be seen when you have witnessed someone die. He wondered, whether they were assigned this cabin because they all have witnessed death but hoped that this topic would not come up in conversations. He didn't fear death but he was also not here to talk about it but to have fun.
When he entered the cabin, the bustle from the campground was suddenyl shut off and replaced with the chatting of the students already inside the cabin. He just arrived when a pink-haired boy screamed a name and tried to hug a girl. Glad that this person had not meant Alemayehu, he looked around to take in the completely different atmosphere that the cabin interior was creating. It was bright and quiet (except for the chatter from the students).
Alemayehu looked around and soon found Reuben. Hey Reuben, there you are. He waved at him and walked over to him.
