Meeting My First Ravenclaw Friend PV Seven Finney

Mark speaks | Mark's thoughts

"Its OK that you don't know what Mahoutokoro is. Its a wizarding school in Japan. I was supposed to go there, but my parents decided I should go to the same school as my brother." Mark says explaining what the school was.

Mark wasn't surprised when Seven had asked Mark what Mahoutokoro was. He knew that they probably wouldn't understand since they were pretty much raised with Muggles. But, Mark didnt mind telling Seven about things in the wizarding world if they did ask. This was a way of making friends with other blood types. Mark has only made one other half-blood friend.

"Oh, I see. But if you have any questions about other wizarding schools or other wizarding things in general, I might be able to help you. Depends on what it is and if I know my knowledge about it." Mark says giving Seven a smile.

Mark wasnt surprised with Seven having a passion for magic. Since she lived for most of life before coming to Hogwarts in the Muggle world. Mark knew that he could help Seven if she wants to learn anything about the wizarding world, and he can learn things from Seven, if he wants to learn about the Muggle world. Mark knows that this friendship will be more than just sharing information with each other. But also learning about each other.

─────Seven was confused. They had thought that people - children and adults alike - couldn't choose which magical school to attend. Seven had got a letter from Hogwarts, explaining the basics. No witches or wizards had come to their house. Just one letter.

They attempted to talk about something else. Mark had said he was ready to help Seven with the whole magic thing.

"Well, I was wondering how much you know about Quidditch..."

One of their favorite parts of the wizarding world was Quidditch. A sport played on brooms, yet different from broom racing. Seven was possibly a little obsessed with it. They found it so amazing that each Hogwarts house had its own team. They wanted to join, but they'd probably wait for their second year. In the time leading up to that, Seven would practice and memorize information. Like a true Ravenclaw. Who was slightly obsessed with Quidditch.

They shoved all stuff out of their head and wondered about what Mark's thoughts on Quidditch were. He'd had all his life to play it, so there was a chance he was really good. Or he hated it and no longer wanted to be friends or anything with Seven because they liked Quidditch.

Mark was very happy when Seven had motioned the sport, Quidditch. He loved it so much. He pretty much grew up playing the game. He even has a firebolt, but it's at home. But, Mark is saving up to buy the broom which he really wants, the Yajirushi. He wants this broom pretty much because he likes it, and he's seen it in person. Mark knew that he'd have to save up a lot of money in order for him to buy it, and that he might not be able to be on his house's Quidditch team, but it is ok.

"I know a lot about Quidditch. I've played it throughout my childhood. So, what would you like to know. If it's about which position you should play, I don't think I can help you there, but if it's anything else, I'm sure I can help you."

Now the young Hufflepuff, is really curious. What does Seven want to learn about Quidditch. He was certainly happy that Seven want's him to help them better understand Quidditch, unless they wanted something else from Mark involving the sport, but whatever it is, Mark is hopping that he can help Seven, since that is what friends are for, and he knows that for sure.

Wondering what @Seven Finney wants to know about Quidditch

─────"I like Quidditch a lot. I've read books about it, but I haven't seen an official match. You know, with people who get paid to play. I want to join the Ravenclaw team as a Keeper. Next year, probably."

However much Seven wanted to play Quidditch, they didn't want to compete against their friends. If Mark joined the Hufflepuff team, well, that would make things a bit harder for them. They'd have to choose between their favorite sport that they had been really looking forward to playing and their friend. If they chose Quidditch over Mark, they'd risk ruining that friendship. Seven wouldn't play Quidditch if it meant they'd become better friends with Mark. They could always do broom racing or dueling. Quidditch wasn't the only thing Hogwarts had to offer.

Seven sighed and looked at Mark to see what his reaction to their statement was. What he thought about them loving Quidditch and wanting to join the team in their second year. Of course, that's when they began to stress out even more. What if Mark thought Seven's idea was weird? What if he thought they wouldn't be able to even make it onto the team? They tried to push those thoughts out of their head.

"Sweet! That'd be awesome! I might join my team, but I'm saving up for a new broom. So, maybe later. Like you, I also love Quidditch. It's really fun to play. I'm glad you also have a position. I have no idea which position will fit me. Actually, not a beater. But any of the other ones would work for me." Mark says happily.

Mark was really happy Seven is hoping to be on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team next year. He's also happy that they even know what position to play. Mark has no idea what position he'd like to play yet. But, all he knows is that he isn't a great beater. He's an ok one. But, in order for him to join, he'd like to do a position that he's really good at.

"Hmmmmmmmmm, maybe I can be a seeker. Or maybe a chaser. Maybe not a Keeper, even though I am pretty good at being a Keeper. Ugh! I can't chose!" Mark had a hard time thinking about which position to play, since he couldn't chose.

The young Hufflepuff wondered how Seven would reply to what he had said. Surely, he was hoping that Seven couldn't read minds, because if they could, they'd be able to know what Mark was thinking, and he didn't exactly want that.

Talking to @Seven Finney about Quidditch

─────"I don't have a broom yet. Just the school ones and those are terrible. I mean, they're so wobbly. I want a Silver Arrow. Unfortunately, they cost over a hundred seventy galleons. There's no way I'll be able to afford one of those. Moontrimmers cost a ton as well, but they're not as expensive. Honestly, I'd give anything for a Cleansweep 2." The lowliest of brooms - other than the School Broom, of course. "You should be a Seeker."

Seven had said that because if they made it as Keeper, they were less likely to interact with Seekers than Beaters or Chasers. Yes, this thinking was slightly selfish. Mark should be able to choose which position he wanted to play, but they were worried. They didn't want some game to ruin everything. They had already stated that, but they were nervous about the whole thing. At least they wouldn't have to think too much about it until their next year, which was when they were planning on trying out. Or, perhaps, they wouldn't aim for Quidditch after all.

Seven had forgotten how hard it was to attempt to maintain something. It was stressful, which no one wants. But, they were in the situation, so they had to try.

Mark speaks | thoughts

"Honestly, I agree with you. The school brooms definitely suck. But, its OK. I have a pretty decent broom, but its a home. I have a fire bolt. But, I'm saving up for a Yajirushi. But, it costs 148 gallons. But, I'll be fine. Hopefully, I'll be able to get it." Mark says.

When Seven said that he should become a seeker, he thought about it, than realized that they were right. Mark is very good at catching things, so he knows that he'll be able to catch the snitch quickly.

"Your right. I should be the seeker. Thanks, Seven." Mark says happily.

Talking about Quidditch, finding positions to fit both of them, and talking about which brooms they should both get, made Mark very happy. He was quite sure his hair color was changing to either yellow, or a color for happiness.

He really didn't want to ask. Naturally, he can control the ability. But sometimes his hair or eyes change without him knowing. But, normally the people he's with notice and sometimes tell him, or they tell him to change his hair color to different colors.

So far no one at Hogwarts has told him to change his hair color, which makes him happy. But, now that his hair color has changed two times. Once with Cassian who was teaching Mark about Muggles, and now with Seven, he become worried, that it might happen.

Talking about brooms with @Seven Finney

─────"You have a Firebolt?" Seven gasped in disbelief. "How? Firebolts are the best brooms you can get. And why is it at your home? You should bring it here, to Hogwarts."

They were amazed by how Mark had an actual Firebolt. Those things were expensive. His parents must've bought one for him or something. Seven wished their parents had bought them a broom. Anything but the School Broom.

Plus, Mark wanted to be a Seeker. He had liked their idea, which was great, seeing as they hadn't been sure how he'd react to their suggestion.

Then his black hair began turning lighter and lighter until it was yellow. Not blonde. Yellow.

Seven had never seen that happen to anyone before. They wondered if it was some sort of spell or potion, but they couldn't remember reading about anything that did that.

"Is that, um, normal?" they asked, gesturing to Mark's hair.

They didn't want to be rude, but Seven also wanted to make sure his head wasn't going to explode. How would they even begin to react if someone's head exploded? Well, whoever the unlucky person was, they'd be dead. Okay, wait, wait, wait. Why was Seven thinking about that? It was disgusting.

Mark speaks | thoughts

"Ya, I do. Ummmmmmm, first years aren't allowed to bring brooms to school. Also, my firebolt is pretty old. So, I'm saving up for the broom that I really want." Mark says.

He had a feeling that Seven would act this way, but he didn't mind at all. Mark decided that he'd save up to buy his own broom, and that was the one that he really wanted. Not the firebolt. But the one that the Japanese Quidditch team used in 2014.

When he first saw that broom, he loved it. He really wanted to try and ride it. When Mark's older brother James, bought that broom, Mark was able to ride on it. Since then, he always wanted that broom, not cause he wanted to be like his brother, but because he likes it and thinks that it's better than his firebolt.

Mark was distracted from his thoughts. Seven had noticed that his hair changed colors. He looked at them than said,
"Not really. It's a very special ability. Not a lot of people have this ability. It's called Metamorphmagus. Ever heard of it?"

Now Mark was curious if Seven had ever heard of the ability called Metamorphmagus. If not, he'd be very happy to tell them all about it. Mark now doesn't know if his hair is still yellow, or if it changed to either orange or back to black.

─────Seven wasn't going to oppose Mark. Sure, they thought it was strange that he didn't want his Firebolt even though it was the best broom available. Maybe he'd lend it to Seven... No, they could earn their own broom. Silver Arrows were pretty cool and cost less than Firebolts. That didn't mean they could afford one. Although, perhaps Seven could ask their parents for a broom.

With that new thought making them smile, they replied to what Mark had said about a special ability of his. "Metamorphmagus? Yeah, I think I've read about it before... You can change your appearance at will. It's like Metamorphosis, how caterpillars turn into butterflies. Except, different."

Metamorphmagi were born able to change their appearance. It wasn't like Animagi where you could learn to become one with enough spells and all. It was more like the effects of the Polyjuice Potion without having to brew or drink it. Seven couldn't stop thinking about how cool it was that they knew an actual Metamorphmagi.

"Are there any other Metamorphmagi in your family or are you the only one?" they asked curiously.

That was a rare ability and it could either be inherited or... not. Magic was just weird. That was the only way to describe it.
