That question seemed to have awakened something in the boy, that much Raizel can tell. She can't read his mind, she doesn't know what he's thinking but he was radiating ambitions, dreams maybe? Perhaps professions that he wanted to take after their time at Hogwarts is finished. She can't help but feel quite amused by that, making her smile some more.

"That is true." Raizel agreed with having a well-rounded education. The subjects that they are being taught are their building blocks since this is only the beginning for them. Without a foundation, they might just crumble in the end when faced with a difficult situation, especially if their knowledge is quite limited due to them only focusing on one thing or a couple of few. Other information aside from what they are interested in might seem very trivial to them but they are still very much needed, more than what they thought of them. Silence loomed when the boy began to give his second answer, her utmost attention on him.

Raizel saw him taking the specializations in charms and defense against the dark arts but Astronomy had completely taken her by surprise. Truth be told though, Astronomy is very interesting. Who wouldn't want to learn about the stars, planets, and constellations? Much more, in a school for witchcraft and wizardry? That subject would certainly turn into something very interesting. The answers made the young girl chuckle, content with his answer. "I could see you taking the first two subjects, never expecting Astronomy though. But those are great subjects Avery, really, they are." She assured him, letting him know that his choices were brilliant.

He had surprised himself, but he generally agreed that they were good choices. He dipped his cropped head and sent her an enouraging nod: "Well, I imagine there's something more to them than just being great big balls of fire!" He chuckled, continuing: "What about you? If you had to specialise in any of the subjects at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, which classes would you favour? - Can I guess? I am thinking, Charms, Divination and-- Hmm. Well you said you find magical creatures interesting earlier. Maybe that one?"

He had pulled himself out of his own spirally, separate, thoughts and elected to ask her a question. He wasn't too sure what the girl could favour, but this was a good way of getting a read on someone. Perhaps she might surprise him yet, perhaps she might surprise all that underestimated her in the years to come.

Idly, he shifted some of his perfectly black hair from his foreheard, moving it rightward and off of his face. He was well favoured, and offered her a winsome smile as he encouraged her on. It started here, his opportunity to learn, and so he propped himself up from his previous slouch and leaned forward, eager to get some more conversation out of her.

Raizel paused to ponder about his questions. What subjects does she want to specialize in if that were the case. All subjects were all interesting to her, that's for sure. But which one of them calls her the most? "Charms… yeah, you got that one right." She said to the boy. She had been fascinated by charms ever since she saw her father conjure up a couple of harmless tricks, with the lighting spell being one of her favorites. She can't remember exactly the name but she's sure she'll be able to learn about it in Hogwarts. "As for Divination, haven't given that one a lot of thoughts to be honest." She let out a sheepish grin when she answered that. "Creatures, yes, that's certainly in my list. I would like to learn more about them, about those fascinating creatures. I know they can be dangerous and it won't be easy but I still would like to learn more."

She then went back to thinking. "As for others, defense against the dark arts would be nice too. Just thinking about the spells that you could learn there is quite exciting so that is also one of my choices." Was that all that she'd like to specialize in? Maybe there are other things that she had missed. She closed her eyes as she crossed her arms in front of her, leaning back on her seat while recalling the lessons that they have. "Maybe potion-making if I could." She said when she opened her eyes although she sounded unsure with that. She is bad at memorizing, she'll probably end up messing up a couple of potions without notes but that one was something that piqued her interest, maybe a slight of Herbology as well considering some ingredients come from plants. She looked at Avery after she was done, showing him a soft smile, hoping that her answers were good enough.

He gave her his undivided attention as she spoke about what classes she might have an interest in, grinnign widely as she said ones that were the same as his. Could he really have found a study buddy already? He wasn't even at the damned school yet! "It would be interesting to see which of us does better in the subjects we share no? - Because you will certainly beat me in Care of Magical creatures..." He chuckled, liking the idea of an academic rivalvry to push him further.

Avery offered her a small smile when she was done, as if to say that potions was a good shout, and perhaps one he had not actively thought about. He wasn't aware that he was coming off particularly judgemental, reinforcing her choices and confidence; which he could see she struggled with. He wasn't to judge her harshly; he had learned to appreciate people beyond their blood status anyway; but he was under the impression that she too was a pureblood, having mistakingly assumed so when she told him both her parents were in Gryffindor. she was a pure-blood after all; or at least he had assumed as she had told him both her parents were in Gryffindor. In that respect, it was rather freeing to be away from his family.

"There's so much I want to do and we're not even there yet." He sighed, putting his feet down and resting his head back into the seat. "I think I'm going to take a small nap. - Will you wake me up if the food trolley comes by? I'm starving."

"Oh, like a friendly rivalry?" Raizel asked him. She's not a very competitive person but if it's something like a friendly rivalry then she might be up for it as long as it doesn't go serious and that it won't ruin their friendship. It might even help push themselves further to reach their desired goal. "I am up for it." She agreed with it, willing to give it a try.

She laughed at his remark about the subject of magical creatures. "I wouldn't be sure about that. Maybe you might even develop your fondness for them as time goes by." It wasn't impossible for one to find interest in a subject that they might not like in the start. Maybe once he experiences it first hand, he might change his mind but who knows really. It might happen, it might now. Time will just tell. If it does happen, then she might be able to help him with it if her interest on the subject remains the same which she is sure it will. "Alright." She gave him a soft chuckle when Avery said he wanted to take a nap. "I will wake you up once it comes. I'll keep an eye for it." She assured him. She should also take this time to rest up until they reach Hogwarts, enjoy the scenery just outside the window.
