The Ravenclaw could see that Colin's mind was busy thinking. She decided to let him think for a moment, let everything sink in.
When he spoke, Clair got the feeling that he was still thinking about what she had said, and maybe other thoughts as well. Clair spoke calmly, there was no rush or pressure in her voice. She was done convincing him of anything for now, he had enough to think about anymore and the poor boy's mind just might explode. "Your welcome, As long as you follow what you think is right then you'll be good. And always remember you have a army of friends around you, we won't let no darned werewolf touch you." She stood up and brushed her legs off, she picked up her plate and nodded to him, "Make good choices!" She grinned, "Until next time my dear." And with that she was off, she had left the blanket and everything else for Colin, it was rude to take everything when you were done. And it was just a blanket, she had a million of them, there was no problems.

The Ravenclaw dropped her plate off and then headed up to her common room, where she spent a while thinking about Colin and his letter.
She could only hope the best for him.

"Until next time my dear."

Colin sure had a lot to think about as Clair got her things together and left. He watched after her as she walked back up to the castle, but didn't follow. In stead, he packed up his own things, wrapped himself up in Clair's blanket and walked up towards the stone outcropping in the high meadow above the castle.

Colin needed to think.

First, there was this whole thing about Clair saying he was cute! Whoa. That was like a whole new world opening up in Colin's mind! But he knew he couldn't dwell on that right now, beautiful as the memory was. He had to think about all the other things Clair said. His mind flew back to their talk about upcoming classes and swimming in the deep parts of the lake. But mostly he remembered what she'd said about the letter and urging him to do the right thing with it.

That should be so easy: just send it home to his parents! But he'd had it so long and the idea of solving the mystery and exposing the plot had become so entrenched in him mind that he didn't want to let it go. Even though he knew deep down that he wouldn't be able to do anything about it. Still, Clair was right. That he knew.

Colin sighed.

He wrapped the blanket tighter around him. It smelled freshly laundered. He sniffed at it delicately. Colin smiled. More, it had about the scent of Clair. Colin closed his eyes for a bit, thinking. After a while, he nodded his head and opened his eyes. He'd decided on a change of plan. It was clear now that his original scheme wasn't going very well, even with Ciarán's help. He remembered that this was where AngelFyre had first seen a glimpse of the letter.

Colin got up and walked back down towards the castle, a new plan churning in his mind. Clair was right. He had friends that could help. Together they could solve this and at least be able to give the information to his folks!
