"I'm just really interested in first hand accounts of historical events and such," Lemon replied. "I find it really fascinating to read accounts of events that aren't in any way filtered. I guess I'm more interested in the way different minds work than in big events."

There was something about diaries and such that made Lemon's eyes light up with interest. So many people filter their thoughts and words to be more polite, and society accepts it much more. But unfiltered accounts are so much more authentic and truthful to her.

"I'm Lemon, by the way. You've probably seen me around here a lot. It's my safe haven," Lemon paused for a moment before continuing. "It's a strange name, I know, but I myself am quite strange so I guess it's fitting."

Perhaps she had said too much. She was almost sure that she had said too much. It wouldn't be the first time. However, she couldn't resist starting up conversations with whoever she came by, a quality that she and her mother shared. It was one thing to do this with other students, but to start up a conversation with an adult she'd just met might be considered strange and even impolite.

"That's a very interesting perspective to consider," Mateo nodded. "It's important to consider all sides and different ways of looking at things, especially in big historical events. So much of what we know in history has been from these sort of things.

Alas, we do have a lack of them here about the Wizarding War. We do have a few accounts of other witches and wizards, though I'm not quite sure from when they were. I doubt they are as old as from during the Second Wizarding War though. But if you are interested in that sort of thing, that might be interesting to read?"

The girl went on to introduce herself, stating her name to be strange, though Mateo would disagree with the use of the word strange. Unusual, perhaps, but strange, no.

"I think your name is very unique, and that is not a bad thing at all," he smiled. "My name is very common from where I'm from, and even in the English translation is pretty popular here. I've always wondered what having a less common name is like.

And I am glad to hear that the Library is your safe place, Lemon. I do my best to keep it as comforting and welcoming of a space as I can, so I'm pleased that at least one of the students feels that way."

𝕿he soft hum of the gramophone envelops the stale air as soon as Aurelia Valentine entered the Hogwarts Library. The exact sense of familiarity she felt in that moment is palpable—the familiar old, musty smell of books that hung in the air, the sunlight spilling through the kaleidoscopic arched windows, casting assorted colours on the marbled floors whilst dust flew off, and the unintelligible whispers that travelled around stray ears. It is all so peaceful and undisturbed that it became her haven, her sanctuary.

A stack of books floated towards her direction, which she merely dodged with an air of simplicity, an indication that this happens in her everyday life. She stumbled upon this scenario the first time back in September, and it will be an understatement to call it a messy business. The young badger unfortunately attended her classes with a large bump on her forehead; after that moment, it never happened again. She learnt how to stay out in front of the towering bookshelves for long.

Letting out a yawn, Aurelia dragged her feet towards the Librarian's Desk, her raven-coloured curls messy and unceremoniously cascading down her back. One would see the tiniest hints of a fight between life and death, as these same curls looked carelessly brushed, as if one attempted to detangle them but gave up—now relying on fate and what comes upon them, pinned with an array of olive green barrettes already buried within the curls. The morning had been tough for Aurelia, that is for sure, as dark circles shadowed her eyes from executing an all-nighter for their end-of-the-year exams.

Examinations and what they do to some people.

“Good morning, Mr Sàez,” the young badger greeted with a soft sigh after, her hands already on her enchanted satchel to check its contents, “I am here again to return some books—will come back before closing to borrow another selection, of course, as usual.” Buying this enchanted leather satchel had been a life-saver; carrying a lot of her possessions was never possible in the Muggle World. Convenient, especially when Aurelia checked out tomes and books to indulge herself in on one trip and another trip to return them before they were overdue. A simple process, despite the massive structure of the Hogwarts castle.

The books she has to return piled on Mr Sàez's desk, the stacks getting higher as she retrieves one book at a time. Nothing weird about the books she checked out, as these textbooks are all recommended by her professors for extensive reading and research about certain subjects. Patting the spines before pushing it towards his direction, Aurelia forced herself to smile. “I hope some of them did not lapse the due date—I do attempt to return them up-to-date, and I never miss one... I think,” the young Hufflepuff witch babbled, with slight gestures from her small hands and also accompanied by a furrow of her dark eyebrows.

Fridays are “return the borrowed books” day; as far as she knows, she never misses or lapses on the due date, as everything she does is particularly scheduled. She overthinks these things nowadays, as this part of the year is one of the most hectic periods considered, being that the end-of-the-year exams are nearing and students are currently studying religiously; that information might appear muddled in their minds. The raven-haired badger cannot afford to return books after due, as this would tarnish her clean record, and her credibility to borrow books from the Hogwarts Library, to her heart's content, will inevitably be questioned.
