"Whoa. Gummy bears!?" Colin looked at Monica with an expression of awe. The girl behind the counter didn't seem at all concerned that Monica had just asked for some bears to eat while the watched people moving pictures around. "Wow, muggles are more interesting than I thought!" He considered the implications as they walked together along the broad corridor. "But why bears, Nica? I mean, I reckon you could make a lot of gummy bears out of one actual bear. But don't bears taste funny? Or do you just eat bears as treats?"

He laughed with Monica about her first experience with choco frogs. For some reason, they seemed almost second rate to Colin now. Sure they leapt out of the box and were fun to catch with your teeth, but --- bears! Muggles actually eat actual bears! Colin licked his teeth as Monica started in about jumping from one theatre to another. Now he wanted to try eating one of these bears too.

"Sneaky, eh?" he said, when Monica explained theatre jumping. "Right! Sneaky." He looked around suspiciously. "We shall use stealth and cunning to jump from one theatre to the other! So, is that like apparating? Or is there a portkey? Like, how do we actually jump from one theatre to another? And --- I was wondering. Could I try some of those bears, too? Are they crunchy? Or do they take the bones out?"

WHOA. That movie had been grand. Colin's eyes had long ago glazed over with the sense of immersion! Monica asked him if he liked it. Colin just stared at her and blinked. He felt as if he were rising up out of deep waters or passing from one world to another. He remembered, rather vaguely, trying to help the Rebels, but Monica had said there was some kind of magical sound bubble that kept the people in the other world from hearing anything they said out here. All Colin could do was watch and hope things would turn out okay.

His eyes focused on hers as some muggle sneered at her. She stuck her tongue out and Colin laughed. "It was --- it --- it was ---"

Colin discovered that he had no words to describe what he'd just experienced! They got up to leave. He turned to look at the window through which they could see the images. This was a magic Colin had never conceived as even being possible before! "H---How do muggles even---?"

"Wh---Where is that world Monica? That we just saw? Such magic! That must have taken muggle wizards for ever to make such a chronicle! Can we go there some time? Can we see the place where this war happened? I reckon it's not here on Earth, cos we would have heard about it. I mean, what with all those cosmonautical ships and everything, it clearly happened in space somewhere, right?"

THUMP! Colin didn't even notice that he bumped into the door frame on the way out of the theatre. His brows knit slightly. "Wh---Why don't wizards make this kind of magic, Monica?" Suddenly Colin's eyes grew huge and he seemed to vibrate with excitement! He leapt up onto one of the benches in the corridor. A few movie goers paused to see what the antics were about. "Can you imagine, Nica!?" He spread his arms dramatically. "Picture this! A series of moving pictures about Harry Potter, right? I mean why not? He's famous, and historical! Second Wizarding War and all. My Da and Uncle fought in that, but they're not as famous. But anyway, they could have one for each of his years at Hogwarts, right? Like they could start with Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, right? WHOA!! Wouldn't that be cool, seeing all the stuff that led up to them killing Riddle and all his dark forces? They could name that one after the Deathly Hallows or something cos they're so central to Riddle's downfall. Well, that and the stupidity of horcruxes. Pft. But yeah, I'd love to see moving pictures about Harry Potter! What about you Nica?"

Colin practically danced and skipped around Monica as they left the theatre at last. "What should we do now Nica?" Colin was totally psyched about all things muggle now and how powerful their magic actually was! But this time he wasn't scared of the traffic in the road. He grabbed Monica's hand and ran over to the corner where they'd come from earlier and smashed the button on the tall post that held the huge red and green lights! "WOOOOO! Look Monica! I can make the whole road stop! It's magic!!"

Monica giggled, handing Colin some of the gummie bears, how odd to assume they were made of real bears, "They are just candies, gummies, in the shape of bears." She pointed to as she handed him the bag to take as much as he wanted.

Coming to the end of the film, and with Colin's antics through the Movie, Monica figured trying to sneak into another theatre would be a hard no. Everyone knew who the pair were, and no doubt some people already reported them, it would be wise to just leave.

Getting into the main hall of the theatre, Colin however couldn't just walk out normally, he jumped on a bench and started talking about Harry Potter of all things... and stuff that Muggles had no idea about. Monica's face turned red, as head spun towards them, she quickly grabbed Colin by the wrist and pulling him off the bench, holding her finger to her lips to try and Shush the boy. "Colin" She said in a hushed tone, "Remember... we are in the Muggle world, we can't talk this freely of magic, and things of the Wizarding world, not only will we look crazy, but we could get in trouble." Her eyes darted around, watching as people started to go back to their own business. She let go of the boy's wrist, taking a step back... "would you like to learn how that film was made?" She asked, a smirk growing on her face.

Because of her father, Monica was more than aware of how Movies were made. Any film she watched with her family, she got detailed descriptions of the effects and the 'how to's' for certain scenes. Some of her favourite films even had behind the scenes portions in their DVD pacts that were very fun to watch. If Monica had never found out she was a witch, she might have even desired to be a filmmaker one day.

If Colin would agree to want to learn, Monica would take him out to a park nearby, and give a little film tutorial.

OOC: Feel free to write going to the park. Monica will pull out her phone and record Colin doing things, like climbing a tree to try and show him the idea of how movies are made.

"YEEEP!" Monica grabbed Colin and dragged him off the bench in the corridor outside the theater. People were staring at them. He had no idea why! Didn't muggles know a great moving picture idea when they heard one? She tried to shush him, yanking him out of the theater, saying that these were actual muggles and they'd have no idea what he was going on about! "Well, if they don't know about Harry Potter, how would it hurt if we made some moving pictures about him, right? I mean, we'd know it's true!"

Monica didn't seem to be impressed by that idea. But she sprang an even better idea on Colin --- going to a park! And she promised to tell him how muggles made pictures move without wizard magic. "Yeah! Let's go!" Colin took off in one direction, but had to be corralled into the other direction for, of course, this was Muggle London after all!

As they walked towards the park, Colin commented on the snacks they'd eaten. He was particularly fond of pop corn! "I didn't much care for those gummy bears. They're sweet! But they were all kind of chewy like rubber! And they're not actually made from real bears? Hm. Sounds sketch. There's not even a weeee bit of bear in them? But! What I really liked was that pop corn! That was brillz! All salty and buttery and crunchy! And did you see the machine they used to make it? There was this box up at the top, and it made crackly noises and all the popped corns shot out of the top of it!" Colin breathed deeply. "It smelled so good too!"

At last, Monica and Colin got to the park. Colin had never seen such a place! There were a lot of people wandering around --- some were running and playing, others talking or sitting on blankets and benches. Colin suddenly realised something. "Monica. There's such a load of people here! And there were a lot in the theater, and out in the streets." Colin had never seen anyplace as large muggle London, and a question arose in his mind. "Monica. H---How many muggles are there anyway?"

Finally getting Colin off to the direction of the park, she explained, as best she could, how movies were made. She pulled out her phone, the one her parents let her use when she went out for emergencies, and took a video of some people walking by. "Okay see those people there." She said and pointed out them walking, "I'm going to record them." She took the video, and letting it last till the couple disappeared around a corner, then she stopped the recording, and played it back for Colin. "See how it like replays the moment that I recorded, saving it for me to watch over and over, that is what they do for movies, but they build sets, and costumes, and the actor's have to memorize their lines for the character's they are playing." She would let Colin play around with recording a clip if he wanted.

"Here, tell me something to say, and record me saying it!" She would show him how to hit record, and make sure the camera was pointing where he wanted to see.

Once they got to the park, it seemed like Colin was interested in just how many muggles their were, enough so to just ask, "Well." Monica started, "I'm not really sure. I mean in London alone there has to be more than 100,000." She paused to even think if that was a big enough number? "But there are muggles all over the world... so must be like billions?"

How odd? "Colin, do wizards no go out for walks or are out on the streets like this?" She wondered why this amount of people around was shocking? I mean they were in London, a big city, but were their not thousands of Wizards out and about?

As conversation continued, an old friend from Monica's old school rode by on her bike, spotting Monica the girl called out, getting her attention. Monica looked over and waved. "Madison!" She shouted out. Her friend didn't stop, seeming to have to get to where ever she was going, but it left a soar spot in Monica's heart, how she missed seeing her muggle friends.

Colin walked along beside Monica as she tried to explain the whole moving pictures thing. It was all very fascinating talk about cambras and flim and how light went into the cambra through wee little windows and made the pictures stick to the flim. "Oh! I get it now! So, the flims have the wee pictures all glued on? But how do you make the pictures so wee? Yer phoney thing --- that's too small to hold all the flimsy pictures, right?"

They stopped for a bit and Monica decided to show Colin how to do it. "See those people over there? I'm going to record them." Colin looked on with interest as Monica held the little black box thing, her phoney, up in the air. He watched the phoney thing intently as the people walked by. Then they disappeared and she showed Colin the big window on the front.

And the people were inside!

Colin jumped back from Monica with a yelp of astonishment, nearly knocking over a muggle pushing a dog in some kind of fancy cart! "Monica! The people!" Colin looked around frantically. Where had they gone!? His eyes widened as she held the magical box out to him! "The people, Monica! They're inside yer phoney box! H-How?" Clearly, the wee people were walking by the window, just as they had walked in the park before! And now they were --- not gone, but trapped! "You trapped them! Monica!"

Then she put the magical box into Colin's hands, instructing him which of the little jewels in the window to touch. She made sure he held the phoney box up in the air, just like she had done. "WHOA! Monica! Ye're in the window! And ye're outside it too! But if I touch the little red jewel, won't ye be trapped in here like the other people!?" Colin was terrified that he might accidentally zap Monica with some kind of inscrutable muggle magic and then he'd be lost in muggle London with a phoney box, a missing Monica and no one to help him!

But Monica seemed to be unfazed by Colin's protestations. She just laughed and told him to tell her something to say. It was with great trepidation and with his face half turned that he at last touched the glaring red gem in the phoney window. Nothing seemed to happen! Monica talked. He could hear her very clearly! And he could see her in the tiny window!

And when she took the box and showed him which jewel to touch to show them the pictures moving again, Colin almost dropped the phoney box!

"MONICA!! Ye're in the phoney box! AND! Ye're outside the phoney box!" Colin watched in utter amazement! "And ye're saying the same thing you did before! Bloody hell! Now this is real magic!

🐺

The images that had flashed across the window in Monica's phoney box were still playing in Colin's mind as they walked into the park again. Colin was really quite amazed by muggle magic! Of course, he'd seen plenty of wizarding photos, but those were just ordinary. There was clearly some deep and arcane magic that the muggles knew how to manipulate, but didn't understand the nature of!

Monica considered Colin's question about how many muggles there were. She said she wasn't sure, but maybe a hundred thousand! "Whoa." And then she said maybe billions. "Wh-Whaat? Billions? All here in London? Oh! All over the world! Gosh, that's still a lot. I don't think there are anywhere near that many wizards. Does that mean muggles are better? They must be doing something right, if there're so many of them!"

As they walked in the park, Colin found himself attracted by a curious contraption that looked like a frame. It was made of metal pieces, like pipes, and had chains holding a rubber seat. "I saw some kids playing on these earlier!" Colin hopped gracefully up onto the rubber bit and crouched down. "How does it go? Do I need to say a spell or something? Those kids before seemed to swing back and forth without any problem!"

Monica asked: "Colin, do wizards not go out for walks or are out on the streets like this?"

Colin thought about this. He looked around the park. Surely there must be some wizards out here besides just them? "Um. I --- I don't know? I mean. W-We don't have streets where I'm from. Like, at home, if we want to go for a walk, once we get away from the gardens, it's all meadows and wild lands! There's a road, but that's miles away from our place! We just sort of go where ever we want!"

As Colin was looking around at the other kids in the park, someone shouted out Monica's name. Maybe there are other wizarding kids out here too? He followed Monica's line of sight. A girl rode by on a bicycle and Monica called out "Madison!" But the girl didn't stop. Well, that was kind of rude wasn't it!

Colin noticed a slight change in Monica's eyes. "Are you okay Mon? Is she a friend of yours?"
