Andrew sped forward, coming up to the first passageway. He was able to go through it without a problem, but the second passageway was a little bit more difficult. He and Nick approached the passageway, but Nick got through it a little more easily. Andrew gritted his teeth against the pain of slamming into the wall. Come on. He could do this.

Andrew wasn't in last anymore, but he wasn't in first. At least he was surrounded by others and not dead last.

Vivienne wasn't entirely sure what had caused it, but for some reason she just couldn't bring herself to continue moving after only racing for a few seconds. Was she scared? No, she wasn't nervous at all. In fact, the adrenaline she was feeling was only fueling her competitiveness and driving her to win. So why had she just stopped?

She chalked it up to the pain she was currently feeling from being hit with bundimun acid and hitting the walls of each passageway she had passed so far. It was fine though, she still got this. Her team has still got this. This minor inconvenience wasn't going to stop her from trying her absolute best to win.

Successful people never got anywhere without experiencing some bumps in the road. She just had to move on from this and show the opposite team everything she was made of.

Irina had paused for a second along with the rest of her team. Why? Well it was not intentional, but could be called a bit of strategy. Let the other team get ahead and then strike them when they think they’re safe. The real reason Irina stopped was the bundimum acid. It was hurting much more than she expected and she needed to check out the spot that was sprayed.

With a few moments of rest, Irina watched the other team shoot ahead as she was still. Taking deep breaths, Irina gathered herself and prepared to fly again.

XXXNobody ever claimed that broom racing was easy. Fedya sailed, soared, and flew at the best of times. Seemed like today was not one of his best days, though, seeing as he couldn't make it through the second narrow passageway. He wasn't even all that big, really, his small frame aiding in his aerodynamic ability to make tight turns and sail through obstacles, but narrow was narrow. Was narrow.

As he ended the round, Fedya groaned his frustration, hand balled into a fist with his fingers all white at the knuckle, blood vacating the area.

Next time. Next time, for sure.

XXXAlexi Petrov did not simply lose. He did not wind up on the ground because of a mere narrow passageway. He did not admit defeat so easily.

Alas, sometimes destiny had a funny way of ignoring Alexi Petrov.

He slammed his palm into the dirt, gripping the broom and steadying himself. Alexi stood, feet sturdy in the dirt below him, and squinted at the passageway that had taken him down so effortlessly. Perhaps it was his size, the muscles that he boasted. Perhaps it was his demeanor, and the race itself wanted to take him down a peg.

Whatever it was, Alexi was not willing to accept defeat.

Round 3

This time it was the Americans who would hover in the air motionless. Perhaps they were confused by their opponents' lack of action and stopped to check if they missed something? If so, maybe the stopping was not that bad of a strategy from the other two teams.

Unit 5

One racer of each team stayed behind but for entirely different reasons. Michael- who knew? Maybe he was confused, maybe he felt scared, who could say?
Irina had a plan. The older girl reached forward and grabbed Vivienne, hurling her forward with all her strength (11 Str -> +2 Units).

Two racers, Alexi and Fyodor shot past the stopped Americans, taking advantage of what seemed to be general confusion. Fyodor passed it without any problems, but Alexi would brush against the stone walls.

So Vivienne flew ahead, faster thanks to her teammate's strength, reaching the thorns first, but maybe she was not quite prepared for the obstacles ahead of her, that suddenly came closer a lot faster than before. Whatever it was, Vivienne didn't quite manage to evade the thorns.
Alexi also reached the thorns quickly, but didn't get out without one or the other scratch either.

In order to catch up with the Americans, Irina had only one idea. Alley ooping. If she could throw Vivienne forward then Vivienne would have a better chance of catching up to the Americans. Of course it would halt Irina’s progress, but she only cared about her team winning in any way possible. Reaching forward and throwing Vivienne, Irina felt satisfied to see how far she flew. In addition to that the Americans had decided to stop moving which put Vivienne in first.

They could do this, it was possible for her team to win even though they took a round to rest. Hopefully they could continue to move forward.
