A McCollum's First Ride
Charlie listened, sitting back in the seat the last time as she looked back and forth as the others talked, nodding her head slightly when Donald asked about the healing plants, "You would be surprised at how many plants that will heal you...will also harm you, they have to have a defense in place or else they would be tasty and easy to grab treat for wildlife and people who gather them for their purpose." Looking over at Shiawase as she asked if she could help her point out what plants would be useful for healing, "Of course! I wouldn't mind helping at all."
As the conversation turned more to Shiawase and her disabilities, and her and Donald being muggle-born she frowned slightly, knowing the words that Colin spoke were mainly true, they would get some grief for being muggle-born, and she also feared that other kids would pick on Shiawase for her disabilities, though she even downplayed that she was used to it, she didn't want to see her go through that here as well.
The conversation turned again to the video games, Charlie tilted her head in confusion as she couldn't really tell if what Donald had said about Colin's logic was true or if Donald was messing with him, she didn't watch tv or play video games as he did so she was unsure still what to make of it.
"That is not a problem, I have a feeling we will all need a good study group as we all have a lot to learn this year.", she smiled, when Colin agreed to help her teach them if they couldn't understand something.
Her smile grew bigger when Shiawase excitedly proclaimed that nothing was too simple for her to make and she would be determined to make whatever they enjoyed, she did have a point. "Yes, talk about all this food is making me hungry as well, I can't wait to tase these treats!"
Her head turned to look up as she heard the cheers from the kids through the train cars, her eyes following Donald when he jumped up to press his face against the glass, getting up to have a look at it herself as the smile on her face grew as big as it could. Looking back when she heard Shiawase stand to bow to each of them, commenting on how they would be staying in a literal castle, she returned the gesture with a curtsy and giggled happily. They had finally arrived at their new home for the school year, and it was absolutely fantastic.
