When @Lucia Fox said that the meeting was coming to an end, Bailey stood up. She turned to Kim and said “I am definitely going to read 1st to Die . And I look forward to receiving your owls and planning further! Even if I had to take place next school year!”
Then bailey turned to Lucia and said “Thank you so much for hosting this event!”
Then she walked over to the swap table and pulled out the books: 1st to Die by James Patterson and The School For Good And Evil by Soman Chainani.
Slipping them into her bag, Bailey grabbed a napkin and picked up two cookies, one for her and one for the person she was helping with homework.
Heading out, Bailey turned and said “Bye you guys! Thanks again Lucia! And Marcel, Kim, it was great seeing y’all!! I’ll see y’all around!”
Bailey turned and walked out of the room and down the corridor. Once around the turn, Bailey sprinted up to the Ravenclaw tower. She was later like the white rabbit in Wonderland- Im late I’m late I’m late for a very important date! bailey thought, inwardly laughing at herself. She was running late, but she knew that the person she was meeting would not be mad.

Kim thought for a moment.

"Yes, I think that would be a fun addition! It's creative and cute." He agreed.

When Bailey said she had to leave soon to help someone with their homework, Kim nodded. "I have to finish up some Transfiguration homework too. But I think it was a pretty fun meeting for the first time." He glanced over at Lucia when Bailey mentioned her and nodded. "We should probably let her know we're going to head out. She's the club leader after all, right?" Kim said and glanced over when Lucia spoke to them.

Ah, the meeting was coming to an end anyway, that worked out perfectly for everyone. Kim made his way over to the front and reached down to pick up a book that had just caught his eye. The School For Good And Evil by Soman Chainani. It sounded rather interesting and he hadn't read it yet. However, Bailey seemed to try and grab the book at the same time and Kim looked over at her, his lips parting in surprise. "Oh, you wanted it too?" He asked Bailey.

A smirk came to his lips.

He leaned closer to the girl and whispered into her ear. "You wanna duel for it?"

Of course he wasn't itching to duel, he just thought it might be fun if Bailey wanted the book too. But if she simply surrendered it to him, he'd settle for that for now.

Kim glanced over at Lucia and nodded to her. "Zàijiàn!" He said, using the Mandarin word for goodbye, as he raised his hand. "Thanks again, Lucia! It was a great first meeting, can't wait for the next one to take place!" He said and returned his attention back to Bailey again to see what her reply would be. Kim couldn't help but wonder how she would react to this. Both their hands were still on the book in question, Kim's hand was actually on the book itself and Bailey's hand was on top of his. Who would be the owner of the book now?

Kim did as well. He whispered something about dueling for it… is he crazy? We could get detention for dueling!!! Plus it would be so much more suitable for the two of us to spar…
Bailey let go of the book, handing it to Kim. She had read it before, and was not willing to fight for it. “No I don’t want to duel for it! I have already read it- you can have it. Plus, dueling could get us both detention and that is something I do not want! Anyways, I gotta run. Bye!!”
With that Bailey ran out, heading for the West Tower and her dorm in the Ravenclaw part of the tower, she wondered why oh why did Kim want to duel? If he wants to that bad he should just join the Dueling club. Honestly, that would be so much better than challenging someone a year older to a duel… oh whatever. I need to focus. Homework awaits- and someone to tutor. Hopefully I can be helpful to them… and luckily I got that other book that Kim brought. It would have been a shame to leave bookless.

It was the first time.

That a girl's hand had touched his own like this, even if it had been unintentional.

For most boys, this could have had a huge effect on them. But Kim wasn't 'most boys' and as Bailey's face and general body weren't pressed up against him, it didn't bother him.

Instead, he thought up a fun thing to do, such as dueling with the prize being the book. But unfortunately, Bailey didn't take him up on the offer and relinquished the book to him. Kim resisted the urge to pout a little and simply took the book to place it against the other one in his grasp. He was about to say something in response to Bailey's words but she had already turned around to leave. Oh well, he could say it in his next letter. Being Owl Pals was so great.

Maybe he'd send her a letter right now.

So he didn't end up forgetting anything they'd talked about before now.

Kim thought about it for awhile. First, he needed to remember the details. What it was, what the prizes were and the rules. He continued to think about these matters as he walked up the stairs towards Gryffindor Tower and his dorm. It was nice to have a solo room. Apparently, those were rare and hard to come by. Probably since the school had so many students to fit into one dorm. Speaking the password to the Fat Lady, the portrait swung open to admit him.
