Staring at Percematt in his, uh, state of things, had taken Levi to another place. It was a waking sleep, too strong to be subdued under the word daze, and time had slowed. The world was being sucked into a black hole of his creation, surrounded by veiny trees and submerged in their hunger. At last, he blinked, and a thousand things would happen in rapid succession as the black hole began to twirl.

Nikita banged her shoulder against the tree boy and he would grab her hair in retaliation with a mumbled acknowledgement. A wink, far out of place from the lovey relationships where it belonged, would dart towards Levi from Percematt's striking eye. The brunet was still regaining his wit, only glaring sternly with his mouth snapping shut in a tight line.

"Did you bring my costume in that packed trunk of yours?" He'd finally spit out, referencing an earlier thought perhaps to fly over Percematt's head.

A frame of glasses were pulled over his face, presumably nonprescription given their absence in earlier encounters and his pureblood background. The sugar persona was shattered. What was the reason for them? It was as much a mystery as the trail mix, and it would likely go unanswered if the copper haired boy had anything to say about it. He wasn't much for explanations.

It seemed all hope of flying under his date's radar was lost; it was a shame he wouldn't bother with the nurturing voice of a store bought boyfriend. It was too sudden for the mask to settle on his visage. Lorax would answer Nelly's question first, and Levi would follow.

"Already got one, thanks." Not that there would be much sleeping.

Thanks, Nessie, you're giving him helpful hints. He glanced to Percematt, retaining a relaxed and perhaps friendly demeanor. "Why don't you try sleeping in the woods instead? I'm sure you'll feel cozier there than in my arms."

He'd then try to snatch the bubble pipe from his nightmare, exerting control, but with hands that quivered. "I do, actually." If he'd succeeded, he'd bring it to his mouth and blow, breath shallow but confident. When it left his lips, a smirk had formed in its place.

Nikita had noticed that Matt tugged her hair, but she didn't react. It was a little tug, nothing much, anyway. Besides, she wouldn't want to lose her temper in front of EVERYONE like she had done at the ball. She only hoped that Matt could still feel the pain on his jaw when he talked.

Then maybe he would shut up.

As she chatted with Levi, Matt walked over as she had predicted. He answered her question directed to Levi, as he knew perfectly well. "Don't make me laugh." She said, rolling her eyes. She let her arm hand over the railing from the top bunk as she leaned on it. Hopefully it would not break, but it would be amusing if she fell on Levi and Matt. Nikita glanced at the glasses on Matt's face. "Nice glasses. Don't think you need them just to talk to Levi and me. " She said, knowing full well that there was a reason he out them on. She just didn't know what.

Levi also answered the question, claiming he already had one. But Matt said he and Levi could snuggle up. " I thought you were set, kissy lips? Or do you need some comfort at night?" She said, pulling a mock pout face.

Levi, how ever, had another response that Nikita thought was funny. "Oh, there's a thought. You can snuggle with the spiders and talk to them about girls. Watch out, though, they could be hungry. I won't get my hopes up, though." She said. Of course she didn't actually mean it.

She watched Levi accept whatever that was from Matt. She raised an eyebrow. She had no idea what it was but it was amusing.

"Ergh! I'm late to getting to my cabin!" huffs Mono as he sprinted across the field looking everywhere for a sign or marker to where the Dragon cabin was at. Mono wasn't exactly in a good mood nor did he choose the right clothes for the first day of summer camp as his black jeans were getting tighter and tighter around his legs, and his red hoodie certainly did not help him at all either. "Arghhhhhhhhhh! Why is everything going to freaking bloody hell!" Mono almost hurled his whole suitcase but stop himself from doing the action. Well, he didn't chucked the suitcase but his backpack that was on top of his suitcase was the thing that went flying through the air and slammed into a giant sign. Walking over, Mono grabbed his backpack off the ground and look up at the sign now near him that say "No party-poopers allowed!". Mono chuckled to himself, "Pffft! What a joke! Of all days, this is a joke for me!" he couldn't keep himself laughing until tears formed around his eyes. On a normal day, Mono would have been able to not be a so called party-pooper because his high energy and desire to be social meant he was quite happy most of the time; however, Mono wasn't exactly in the mood due to not knowing anyone here at all. "Why on earth did I allowed Mom and Dad to make me go here?" Mono mumbled heavily under his breath as he saw the Dragon Cabin coming into his view. As Mono look around he saw what he assumes to be one of the staff members of Hogwarts but only because he was the only grown-up in view; his tropical shirt certainly didn't make Mono think he was a staff of the school at all. "Just go inside, don't say anything at all, find a bed, and place your face into the pillow and silently scream into it Mono" Mono's brain was thinking at the time but Mono's mouth have other plans when he strolled on in looking like he was attacked by a bear. "ATTENTION EVERYONE!" he howled at top volume. "Do not even think about talking to me unless you like silent answers and a possible pillow thrown at your face!". After announcing that to everyone in the cabin, Mono shuffled over to the farthest corner bunk bed at the bottom, drop his suitcase and backpack without care, and slammed his face into his pillow as his mind told him to do. Mono's view of pitch darkness wasn't appealing in any way but at that point of time, it was all Mono wanted to do to try to hide that he was very much lonely and had no clue about anyone else in the cabin.

A wave of bubbles would proliferate from the end of the pipe. What a curious, entertaining diversion that brought the almost teen a sense of juvenile joy. "Nights might be lonesome without me, but have no fear Levi... I will always be near," yes a threat given in a rather cheerful tone because the youth was nothing short of giddy. "After all, I need to study you Drakos," like a frog in need of dissection. "You are so delightfully... pitiable," he admitted as he leaned uncomfortably close to the snake.

A sniff.

He even smelled like disappointment. Or allegedly "mint with a strange oceanic air like moments before the rain by the sea." What a salty boy.

"We are going to have a wonderful summer together," Mathias whispered loud enough for Levi to obviously hear and feel his hot breath next to his skin. His Amazonian future Russian bride would likely overhear. She was not particularly relevant in Levi's life, nor was she in this exchange.

To the woods. With the spiders. Words, cheap, disposable words from the both of them. Truly an inadequate duo but an agnate pair. "You won't have to worry about my continued romantic interests any longer, I think I have found my true love," he smiled but smiled did not really look right on the youth's face. The smile was twisted, lips a bit too thin, a near rictus grin. "You might know her," she shared their year. "Winnie Harper," from House Ravenclaw. The particularly loud one. "That shrewish girl from the ball," she was hard to miss with the yelling and the stripping and... yeah, that was one hell of an evening that nobody (except Winnie) would be able to forget.

"You seem like her type," Jack-like but immediately accessible. She seemed to prefer mice to men. This façade that someone was a non-threat, unassuming, potentially controllable or at least their peer. That there was a hope for equality, for a partnership, to be needed. In truth he needed her, just he was going to choose her utility. "Pedestrian." He would settle himself next to Levi, making himself comfortable at home wherever he was (you can pick where, I will totally hog the bed sweetie). "So I seek the secret to mediocracy."

The summer months prior to August were uneventful. Thomas spent the days with his mother and childhood friends, trying his best to dispel any rumors that there was something wrong. It was difficult; his mom an empath and his friends observant and stubborn, but he was able to stave off their questions long enough to hold over until the camp Hogwarts was putting on. Though the Ravenclaw had no love for outdoorsy activities, it would provide relief from those who cared so deeply about him and knew him well enough to know he was hiding something. His paranoia grew more and more severe with time. It was inevitable that Thomas would crack. He'd postpone that moment for as long as he could, however.

As the boy got ready to get comfortable, parsing through his things quickly revealed a bizarre note. Thomas fervently read it over... And over... And over, until eventually realizing the gravity of the situation. Another mysterious riddle. Another rendezvous with the woods. The young wizard, a rising third year at Hogwarts, was far more prepared this time than last. He would not be making the same mistakes again, the first of which being trying to help others rather than helping himself.

Selfishness was cold, but apologies delivered alive would be easier to swallow than regrets in death. Thomas couldn't be self-sacrificing anymore. On the surface, it may have seemed like fear, but deep down he knew it wasn't. Danger was not his concern, he would happily walk into it to understand Hogwarts' mysteries. What he wouldn't tolerate is turning back, stopping to help someone up due to their own weakness. Not again.

Folding up the note, Thomas tucked it in his pocket and politely walked out of the cabin without saying a word. There was something afoot.

As Gregorí accidentally locked eyes with the most senior girl in the room during his process on scanning everybody in the room, she gave him what many people might consider a cold stare, but he did not pay any mind to this, did not take the accidental cold stare personally. The cold never bothered him, anyway - well, not the literal cold temperature, but the coldness in human behavior. He was, speaking from an objective point of view, rather an indifferent individual.

The boy from Ilvermony turned his attention back to the book in his hand. He did not know - or to be more precise, did not really paid attention on - how long (or how short) he had been reading when the corner of his brown eyes caught a glimpse of a waving hand. It successfully grabbed his attention, and the Mexican set down his book for a moment to look at the waver.

It was the dark-haired girl he spotted earlier, the one talking to a boy and a blonde girl who both looked like were around her age. The girl who waved invited Gregorí to chat with them, and the boy seemed to give him a look of slight interest as well, but the other girl did not seem to mind him much. But either way, the Horned Serpent kid decided to join them. "Thanks for inviting me," he said to the three as he approached them.

Woo, summer. Raging enthusiasm aside, Yefim was not actually as mega super pumped as the Hogsnots might have been used to seeing him. Last summer he hung out in London with his best buds in their own crappy tent and terrorized a prissy older student. This time, he would be with total strangers, swarmed on either side by freaks and losers. This was the price he continually paid to compete on the international field, at least against the Hufflepuffs. Their name would be reduced to ash before him... in time. He was still an egg, a hatchling kicking at the shell imprisoning his godly form. He was getting a little, tiny bit tired of losing, though.

Truth was, his life had been nothing but losing since the day his father was forced to go into hiding. Yefim lost the person who believed in him most, and all of the followers he employed, as his father's rickety cult fell into shambles in his absence. Yefim had to claw his way back into any relevance, and he was lucky that it had worked. Being strong was his only asset, and without it, he was just Yefim, a lonely boy who didn't know how to talk to people. That was... that's who he would have been, if he wasn't actually an evil god of chaos. Phew... right, keep on track.

He was at least glad to hear he had the dragon cabin-- he loved dragons. They were extremely powerful, nearly impervious to damage, large and imposing. Role models. He spent a lot of his free time reading about them, learning as much as he could. Opening up the cabin however, he was greeted with loud music and an adult looking like a beach bum. Surprisingly though, he was not feeling like yelling and fighting everyone he saw. Actually, he generally saw fights as a waste of energy, it just a coincidence that he felt very defensive whenever he visited Hogwarts. He was different than them, and he was not very good at English. He couldn't even tell what they were saying behind his back. Everyone rolled their eyes. Called him names. Wimps.

All he cared about was staying fit for the competition, and winning it. That was all that mattered. The more achievements and trophies he got in his life, the more worthy he was. The more proof he would have that everyone was wrong to hate him. To that end, he wasn't going to cause any trouble for anyone. You know, unless they made themselves a problem. Then there would be a problem... obviously.

The cabin was filled with annoying little shrimps, peeping clueless little human chatter. Peep peep I'm from Bow-bee-tawn, like... it was amazing how people could bear to waste their time doing something so meaningless. He would delight to know that every burden in his way would someday be particles in the acrid wind of his destruction. His birth foretold a cataclysm that no living creature would survive. Meditating on that was how he maintained his cheerful personality.

He threw his duffel on a bed, not at all concerned whether it was already taken by someone else. It was the best strategic position to see all of the rest of the bunks, and therefore the most tactically advantageous. He wouldn't have to say anything at all nor give any dirty looks for it to be extremely obvious: Yefim was strong, and it would take very little to set him off. This time he also actually remembered to bring his wand. Well, it was somewhere in that duffel for sure. Like, a 95% chance it was in there.

Then, he'd jump out of the bunk and stroll over to the bar. Free drinks, right on. ”Give pumpkin drink to me.”

Bubbles fluttering through the air between the two boys, popping as abruptly as they rose from the end of the pipe, were an oxymoron next to Percematt. Light, blithesome, the sort of thing you do while your mom watches with a hushed giggle to ensure you don’t drink the soap and hope for a high. At the opposing end of the toy, puckered lips, rabid ones where a bloodstain was the only color against porcelain, unfairly glamorous skin. Levi maintained his smile, slight and astute, a hint of a shine in his eyes, not quite one of thrill, rather of test. A vague, indescribable satisfaction; an unstoppable force versus an immovable object.

Discomfort was always the prominent feeling with Percematt, a column full of dark circles where each had to be questioned three times over. However, the Gryffindor boy would be doing his best to not let this on; be bold, daring, and tiptoe in the shadowy realm of stupidity and flaw, as monstrous as they burn. “It’s a step-up from delightfully dismal.” A tone was vaguely present in his voice, an ounce of amity. Another oxymoron.

The serpent leaned in; an audible inhale followed that made Levi’s brow quirk yet warranted no other movement. Flinch too noticeably and there would be a trace of cowardice in the treads of your shoe for years to come. Besides, if teeth sank into his neck and drew blood, they both won. Warmth embraced him, but it was a chokehold, a deep and ominous utterance from the rival, the destiny. In the corner of Levi’s gaze, Niche was wearing her usual spiteful visage, unfazed and spitting shallow insults. “Maybe so,” he answered Percematt’s declaration, “but perhaps you could dial down the creep behavior and let me loan you my cologne next time.”

“Your romantic interests are the least of my worries,” considering they aren’t real he wanted to add, that canny smirk playing back on his expression, though there seemed to be a tint of something else boiling out of sight. As Percematt finished that remark, however, there was a distinct shift, weight on the other leg as Levi leaned against a bed. “Even if that were true, it’d take someone of your…” he pretended to think for a moment, “...psyche to return that. Either way, my sincere apologies to both of you.” If Levi grabbed at the snake’s mouth, not only would fangs prick his fingers, but it would reveal a second set teeth beneath, package inclusive of a second, fleshy face.

When he announced the name of his lover, Levi was rendered speechless for a moment. Winnie? Winnie, ranted about “Mathias Pride” and how much she hated his stupid face to Levi in the Rehearsal Room? Not likely. It was a tad early in their lives for masochism, was it not? A stronger attraction existed between himself and that Ravenclaw, a moment straight from a film, not in the sense of soft music and interlocking fingers, but in that those actors don’t go home with one another either. “I can help you write a letter,” he sounded cruelly sympathetic, bittersweet, “I’m sure your mom will have some nice advice and distractions for unrequited love.”

Levi then chuckled, like he already knew what he was hearing. “I think most girls are appealed by charm and looks; Winnie isn’t an anomaly.” Word of the day, much, you sweet little preteen boy. Percematt expectedly worked in a poor insult, a desperate attempt to mask some weird and placeless jealousy brewing in his head. The brunet hoped there was a satirical purpose behind this conversation. Reality was much harsher to people of their alignment, and he would scroll through the various motivations when he went to bed tonight, with help from the stars and rustling leaves. Percematt settled next to Levi, easing onto the bed. “Ask your therapist, they’re clearly quite mediocre at the job and would be more helpful.” A groundless assumption (though Lord knows he needs one) and bluff—his specialty now.

Not now. Not yet. But soon: zugzwang.

"Evenin' mess." Caradoc would immediately respond in his natural Irish accent. Something he'd usually try to hide to seem a bit more professional. It didn't take him long to slide into character, though. Whipping up a towel over his shoulder, the blond bartender approached his newest customer with a serious look on his face.

"aye, I can get you sahme o' de good stoehff, lassie." Moving over to the side, Atlas would see him bring up some bottles that were unlabelled and mix them together in a welled margarita glass. He placed the glass on the counter and carefully slid it over towards the young lady, dropping a little umbrella in it as a final touch. As soon as the little piece of decoration hit the liquid, Atlas would hear a faint screech echoing from the glass as the umbrella slowly sunk to the bottom.

"'ave you settled ahn a room yet, mess?" Doc would ask as he started swiping his towel across the bar before leaning on one arm and smiling. "There's quite a few to pick from in the back." he leaned in closer. "I also 'eard dere might be sahmethin a bet mahre... entertainin 'appenin fahr denner."

Before they were done, another kid joined them at the bar. One of the foreigners, it seemed. Caradoc thought he recognized the kid from Durmstrang. An encounter in St Mungos came to mind. Offering the kid a genuine smile and slipped back into the role of Caradoc the Head of House. "One pumpkin juice coming right up for the young man. Are you excited for the summer camp?" he asked, briefly blinking over to Atlas to try and keep her in touch.

Mathias was a weird fellow. Too comfortable, too casual. he seemed to flourish in tense situations. in fact, this was absolutely true, his power came straight from and he drank deeply of those choppy waters. Here he was acting buddy-buddy with a guy who likely preferred to be anywhere else and Pride knew it. That alone should have been a deterrent but it was not in the snake's case. If anything that quality only made Levi more attractive.

"Creep?" Mathias repeated as he let out a chuckle. He took no offense, Drakos was absolutely right, Matt was a creep. In fact, he likely underestimated Pride "...you got no idea." His plan, yes the creeper plan he had for Winnie was already in the works. That was why he mentioned her name to Drakos in the first place, his very best frenemy.

At the mention of cologne he would lean towards Levi and take a sniff. It did not matter if he was wearing it or not, he would say the same thing regardless. "You smell like money," he claimed. The sort where someone tries a bit hard. They want to make certain those around him knew that he had means, that he had more means than they had. If it was true or not, his nose was not astute enough to know, but he did know the scent of someone that wanted to make certain they left that impression.

They had something in common, who would have thought.

He would go on to mention he had romantic interests. Yes, the sort that involve other people. How much the other person was interested was really secondary at this point. The interaction would be a bit catty, like a pair of girls that hated each other but did not want to mess up their hair and nails so they made mildly biting remarks instead. regretted a damn thing.

He would mention Winnie's name, not that he had any reason to believe the young wannabe aristocrat knew the muggle-like witch. The hilarity of knowing that they had the same terrible taste would not have been lost of him, even if Levi's sentiments might have actually had some basis in emotion, compatibility or at least carnal interest. He wanted her for other reasons entirely.

He would only notice something was wrong with Levi when he did the one thing he would never do -- help. It was something that Mathias had made certain of. A reliable reaction from the boy, his distress and distaste for the redhead was something that he counted on.

"So helpful," Mathias would comment. He would play along, see what his play was. Then a prod about his affections being unrequited. "Impossible," he responded with the assurance of a man that was drugging his future date into compliance. "I am not the sort that takes no or later as an answer," Mathias admitted.

Charm and looks...

"Well thank Merlin I have both in spades," spoken like a true narcissist. "Although you are not entirely terrible yourself," Mathias segued. A compliment, that could only mean trouble. Mathias would get himself comfortable alongside Levi Drakos. "But I gotta admit, you're a hell of a stick in the mud sometimes," he complained. "What do you do for fun? What do you plan to accomplish," not do "this summer." His eyes flickered over to Nancy, that foreign girl. She seemed interested in Levi still, hovering about. That could be a lot of fun. "I mean you're basically dressing your former date with your eyes," not undressing. "You like strawberries?"
