After her brief voyage into tea bliss, a familiar face popped up beside her. An older boy, one she had met in the common room. She remembered his cute little rat, Penelope; a pet that not many Hogwarts students tended to go for, but she was cute nonetheless. But now was not the time to think about the rat, it was the boy... his name... something with an 'A'... ugh, why was she absolutely atrocious with names? 'Aberdeen... Asher... Alex... A- A- Amaxamillion?' No, no, no, at this point she was just making up her own names. The boy greeted her knowing her name, she couldn't bear it if she couldn't return the sentiment. She kept wracking her brain as she said in response, "H-heya, of course you can!" with a hint of nervousness.

She continued to ponder as the boy spread out his blanket next to hers, now creating a massive space for what seemed to be just the two of them. She wondered how long it would take some of the dango members to finish up. I mean, she really couldn't tell what the things were made of, but surely it couldn't take hours, right? Now they had enough space for 6 more people... if they ever did finish.

Andrew began to converse with Starlee, while she still felt irritated that she hadn't remembered the boy's name yet. "Oh it's delicious!" she said, savoring another sip of her own. "I love tea... and I've only ever had the tea bags that are supposedly matcha tea, but they don't compare at all to this. The flavor... It really is just so much more rich when you make it like this!" She sighed dreamily.

She continued to listen to Andrew as he talked about his distaste for tea. Starlee almost found this strange, if it wasn't for her coffee loving American parents. Starlee had tasted coffee one time, and had promptly decided that it was to be the last time. Just nasty stuff. It was abnormal for most English people to dislike tea, but really, everyone had their own preferences. Not liking tea was simply one of his.

"Oh yea, I totally get that. It's not for everyone. Although hot cocoa, now that is definitely yummy. I think we can all agree on that!" She watched as he took a sip, and his face scrunched a little, and Starlee stifled a giggle in return. "Ya know, you don't have to drink it if you don't like it!" she said, chuckling. "Although, I'm really wondering if the combination of tea and dangos is a match-a made in heaven?" She laughed aloud this time, her pun really getting the better of her. She hoped it would make up for her complete failure at remembering his name, if he noticed at all.

Everly was determined to make today a sparkly day.

Recently, Everly had been a bit down-hearted. Perhaps it was because the year was quickly coming to an end, or it was because she'd forgotten her socks. Either way, Everly was determined to make today a sparkly day.

And what but the perfect place to fix that up than going to an errand? Everly had been to quite a lot during the timespan of the entire school year, and they'd all - or, they'd all mostly - turned out to be a success. Everly got to learn a new skill or do something interesting, meet and talk to new people, and get prizes for doing all of that. How could she get a better deal?

It was a new day, new errand, new things to try out, and more food.

Everly was hungry.

This errand seemed to be about making Japanese food, something Everly had never really been exposed to that much, so she was excited to see what it was all about. Everly had little to none experience with the culture, but she was more than excited to learn. When she thought about Japanese things - she mostly thought about flowers and cherry blossom trees. Well, today, that would change. It was hosted by a Gryffindor prefect, one Everly didn't really know, but Everly recalled she was on the train. Not that Everly wanted to remember that.

Arriving somewhat late, she caught the tail end of the directions for the Matcha tea group. Nodding eagerly, she engraved these instructions in her brain, determined not to forget. Examining the prefect's example carefully, she noted how hers looked, and how Everly's should look. No - how it would look.

Spotting two girls sharing a picnic mat, Everly decided to join them. There was an Asian girl and a redhead sitting together. "Do you mind if I join?" she asked with a eager smile, showing her excitement to start working.

If they agreed, Everly would slide down next to them, her materials spread out as she observed their progress first. If they didn't Everly would find someone else to sit with.

Everly first boiled the water, wincing a bit at the heat. Leaving it in the measuring cup like the Prefect had shown them to, she waited for it to cool down for a bit. Picking up the bamboo teaspoon, examining how it was different than other silverware she had used before, she quickly scooped up a bit of the Matcha powder, shaking the spoon ever so slightly to even out the powder sitting on the spoon. Dumping out the powder into the bowl, she poured a teaspoon of cool water into the mixture. Everly mixed the two together until she could see that it was smooth, like the Prefect had demonstrated. Then she poured the hot water from the measuring cup into the mixture as well, grabbing the whisk. Stirring again, turning the bowl as well in sync with her stirring motion, Everly squinted at the mixture, waiting until the surface was smooth.

Jumping with excitement when she realized she had finished, Everly almost forgot that she actually needed to try and taste her brilliant creation. Lifting up the cup, feeling the temperature ever so slightly, she took a tiny sip out of the cup.

And then spit it out.

"I - I mean, it's simply wonderful. Delightful. I must make another thingy so I can experience the... uh.. splendidness again." Everly smiled, grabbing another set of materials. She had to somehow cover this up.

Back to the beginning. Oh joy.

As Everly started the process again, she decided to try socializing a bit. Maybe the key was to not stress out so much about it. In addition, she had realized by now that she still didn't know the girls' names. "What are your names?" Everly asked, lifting her head up from the boiling-and-now-cooling water measuring cup to focus on talking. "I'm Everly. From Gryffindor. You know, the red house." They probably didn't know what Gryffindor was, seeing as they were all at Hogwarts. Great move, Everly.

"Aaaanyways," Everly continued, stirring the cold water and Matcha powder, "how are your things going along? It probably tastes better than mine, heh." With a sheepish smile as she added the boiled water, continuing to stir, she was determined to continue the conversation. Even if they didn't reply - well, no worries. Everly could talk all day if she needed to.

"Eek! Yes! Finally!" Everly squealed, noticing she was done with her second attempt at creating a masterpiece. Lifting it up ever so carefully, determined not to jinx her perfection, Everly took a few sips, taking in the scent.

Well.

It was better than her first try.

And it actually tasted something decent, somewhat like the example.

That was an accomplishment, wasn't it?

But Everly would not settle for decent, no. Everything had to be absolutely perfect for Everly's sparkly day.

And so she started on Trial Numero Tres.

Everly could smell the aroma all around her, and the dango group finishing their creations too. Well, soon Everly would join them, with hers too. Once she was done. Boiling the water again - wow, Everly was really getting the hang of this routine - she waiting for the whistle as she poured it out and let it sit for a while. "Gah, this is kind of hard, now that I think about it. I wouldn't have thought it would've been this difficult. How many tries did it take you guys?" Back to work. Whisk. Whisk. Whisk. Come on Everly, you've got this. Mentally cheering herself on, she added the boiling water, continuing to whisk. Almost there!

And now, the big reveal. Third time's the charm, isn't it?

So she sipped.

Then she took it in.

Then Everly squealed.

"YES! HA! I finally got it! It tastes better than decent!"

Over-excited Everly was a very excited Everly.

Everly joined everyone else in taste-testing the dangos. "Mmm, that's good!" Everly said, still giddy over success.

Yes, today was certainly a sparkly day.

Cash was just about to get up to looked for some help with their Matcha making tea when a familiar blue eyed brown haired boy show up in front of the green eyes. "Hey,"The young Ironwood greeted their friend. "No at all. Come sit with me"Cash was glad that Henry show up and accompanied them on their picnic blanket.

When Henry mentioned Hanako name, Cash let out an annoyed groaned. Henry asked whether Hanako lit himself on fire or destroying someone's things. "The latter"Cash informed Henry shortly but the bit where Henry mentioned that Hanako once lit himself on fire, it pique the green eyes interested.

Cash want to asked how that tale tell goes but maybe Cash could asked Henry at different time since Cash had something to be done today. The second year looked down on their Matcha ceremonial tea set blankly. Why the Gryffindor Prefect only explained it once. How in the world anyone could remember all of those instruction in one go Cash annoyed with the fact.

"Dango that I just made, probably not the best but go ahead and try some"Henry broke Cash reverie. The Beater then looked down and saw some kind of bamboo plate with three bamboo skewer on it. Cash picked up one of the skewer and examined the treat. They took one of the three and popped it into their mouth.

To be honest, the treat itself kind of weird around their taste bud. Not because it is too sweet for them but the texture itself. It like a chewy gummy bear but in a ball form. "It is something else"The Cuban descendant expressed to their friend after they swallowed the treat down their throat.

"Thank you that you share it with me"Cash smile up to Henry. The young socialite made a promise to themselves for the next 5 years they attend this school, they be willing to open to new experience and things. When Henry asked what was Cash doing, The Latinx person scratched the back of their head.

"I was supposedly making a matcha tea but I had no clue how it done"The Beater still trying to remember all the instruction that the Gryffindor Prefect just told earlier. Cash then shrugging their shoulder and hoping for a decent result when they begin making their tea.

The green eyes grabbed one of the cup and scooped a bit of Match powder from the little drum that consist of the the said powder and dumped it into empty cup that sit neatly in front of them. Cash then add another teaspoon of cool water that now consist of the Matcha powder. They whisked the mixture until it become smooth.

Cash grabbed the china tea pot and pour the hot water until it reach about a half cup of the matcha mixture that they already made. The young Ironwoods then grabbed the bamboo whisk to stir the Matcha until it become smooth and there's bubbles appear on the surface of their tea. The purple haired swear that they missed a step but can not remember it.

Cash lifted up their cup and inhale the smell of the Matcha. The tea itself has a peculiar smell. Cash braced themselves to took a little sip of their brand new creation. The second year tried to hold back a gag when the green liquid travel down their throat. Cash then put down the cup and looked at Henry.

"That tea taste horrible"Cash said honestly. "It taste like when you juicing a grass then you decided to drink it"The Cuban descendant let out a shudder and making a distaste expression by sticking their tongue out. "But, you are more than welcome to try it if you dare"The purple haired gently pushed the little cup toward Henry and smirk.

Image posted by the member Carolyn had to admit she was still feeling a bit on edge but making the tasty snack helped her relax a bit. After all, cooking always seemed to calm her down even if her grandmother nagged thorough the whole process. At some point the old woman rambling stopped being annoying and instead became a constant grounding sound . She sure missed her now and couldn't wait to see her again. Please let her be okay, she prayed silently as she was watching her little balls of dough starting to float in the boiling water“Alright, time to make the sauce,” she muttered under her nose, keeping mostly to herself.

Her working station was definitely far more quiet than the matcha tea group;. At one point she overheard a commotion and among it a very familiar voice of Cassandra Ironwoods. Carolyn turned in their direction, frowning momentarily. Seems like I chose the right group after all. It was likely that Cassandra didn’t even remember her but Carolyn would always remember them. She firmly believed that the Slytherin played some part in Elspeth’s decision not to return back to Hogwarts. Her best friend sure had plenty other horrible memories other than them but the bullying incident that caused her to have a panic attack definitely left a mark. Carolyn herself was not eager to speak with them either. She even had another unpleasant encounter with Bellamy because of that very incident. She just wanted to live in peace, okay? Still, plenty others seemed to like them just fine so the Ravenclaw opted to simply ignore them. She was someone to avoid conflict like a plague and had no desire to confront her classmate about something that happened almost a year ago. And so she turned back to her sauce that was actually smelling quite nice at this point.

The whole process of making the Mitarashi dango was soothing her irritated nerves and by the time she was pouring the sauce on the slightly fried dango balls, she was feeling much better. She even saw Sylvain join the neighbouring group of students and wave at her. The raven-haired girl smiled at the boy and nodded. She would wave back but her hands were full at the moment. Later she tried her first bunch of the Japanese treat and decided it was okay. Unfortunately, okay was never good enough for Carolyn and so she set off to make another. The first plate left forgotten on the table. If somebody wanted to take it, she would let them. Her second creation was actually pretty good and the Ravenclaw managed to finish two skewers herself before abandoning the rest on the second plate. She did not have a sweet tooth and wasn’t keen on eating too many. Still, Korean culture was all about sharing food and cooking for your family and Carolyn suddenly felt bad about leaving the second plate just lay there, looking as lonely as she felt. In the corner of her eye she noticed Syl sitting on a blanket nearby. She was a bit nervous about taking Mordred to him but even if the feline didn’t like her friend, he would listen to her and leave him alone at the very least. Alright, here goes nothing.

And so, the young Ravenclaw picked up her plate and slowly walked towards her friend. She didn’t bother calling Mordred because he was always keeping an eye on his owner and followed her wherever she went. “Hello Syl,” she greeted the boy with a gentle smile. “Would you like to try one? They are not as sweet as they look so you might not like them but who knows…,” she shrugged. “Maybe they’ll surprise you?” At least if he didn’t like them it wouldn’t be her fault. She was fairly certain, she did a good job. She would even let her grandma taste them, which was a testament of said conviction. To her surprise, Mordred was immediately occupying Sylvain’s space as if they knew each other forever. Carolyn blinked in surprise. “Well..it appears the grumpy young man likes you,” she said fondly. It was nice to see her fluffy friend excited around somebody new. Then again, she too always felt comfortable around this particular boy so perhaps it shouldn’t have been that surprising.

Considering that she was a grass-eating, natural-drink-loving vegan, Ami drank a surprisingly small amount of tea. Maybe it was in her nature of being raised in America that she heavily preferred bean juice over leaf water, but she would always reach for a cup o' joe over a cuppa. She knew that there were many different varieties of tea that were enjoyed by all types of people, and that there were even some drinks that combined tea AND coffee chaipuccinos for the WIN, babey, but none of that impacted her opinion. Even after living in London for 5 years, Ami still was an American at heart. That wasn't to say that she hated tea, not at all. In fact, she thought it was quite tolerable. Some types were too bitter for her (which was... interesting, considering she drank, you know, coffee) but overall, she had always admired the versatility and universal qualities of tea. After all, no one threw coffee parties, but a tea party was simply downright delightful.

It seemed that a certain Gryffindor also found tea parties to be a delight. Ami didn't really know much about Griseldis Edelhardt other than that she was a Gryffindor prefect and a fellow Quidditch beater, but she figured that the prefect was alright enough. The way she spoke reminded her of a museum curator or docent, oddly enough. The patient, measured way she spoke, paired with her deliberate movements made Ami feel like she should sit still for once, which was quite the rare occasion. Although it was tempting to stare off into space and completely ignore the prefect, the redheaded Hufflepuff forced herself to focus on the Gryffindor's words, trying to retain as many of the instructions as possible. Boiling water, matcha powder, cold water, and whisk. It seemed simple enough, right? Perhaps even easier than whatever concentrate they used at Barstucks.

Following the rest of the matcha group, Ami picked up the necessary supplies before heading to an empty picnic blanket. Surveying the materials in front of her, Ami reached for the cup of boiling water that she was letting cool for a big, as per Griseldis's instructions. How cool was she supposed to let it get, though? Wasn't tea supposed to be hot? ... was the matcha powder supposed to go first or the water? Or maybe the cool water? As her mind became a little lost in the sauce, Ami hesitated for a moment before reaching for the intending drinking cup and the matcha powder. It seemed like everyone else was putting in the matcha powder first, so she would start there. Taking a rather heaping teaspoon of the green powder, she dumped a scoop into the cup. She eyed the powder with interest, wondering what the powder by itself would taste like. Was it like coffee, where it would be completely inedible and downright disgusting? Or was it more like herbal tea, where it would be overpoweringly strong but still taste like the actual drink?

Glancing around swiftly to makes sure no one was actually watching her closely, Ami dipped her pinky into a bit of the powder in her cup, before sticking her finger in her mouth to taste it. Recoiling slightly, Ami made a face resembling the butt of a lemon as she coughed. If that was what the powder alone tasted like, she could only hope that the actual drink itself would taste significantly better. People actually enjoyed this stuff? There was no way that the drink could possibly be any better. Her face still twisted and puckered, Ami reached for the cool water and splashed just the slightest bit into the cup, whisking it until it was a smooth paste.

Still slightly in shock from the matcha powder's aftertaste, the fourth year gingerly reached for the slightly-cooled hot water, filling up the cup to the almost-brim. Then, taking the whisk in her right hand and gently cupping the cup in her left, she gingerly dipped the wooden contraption in the green liquid. She was supposed to... whisk it? Apart from the very obvious clue in that the instrument she was holding was aptly named a whisk, she was unsure of how aggressively she was supposed to be whisking the drink. She knew that Griseldis had mentioned something about the pressure at which they were to whisk the matcha, but she had long since forgotten at this point. Flicking her wrist lightly as an experiment, Ami nearly knocked over the entire cup as a few bubbles surfaced. This... seemed to be correct. Continuing to flick her wrist back and forth, dragging the whisk through the hot water, more and more little bubbles made their way to the surface of the tea. Unfortunately, Ami would inevitably forget to continuously turn the cup as she whisked, but hey. It was close enough, and a surprisingly decent result.

"I'm done," she announced to no one in particular, glancing around at her fellow tea brewers. Were they supposed to be doing anything else? It seemed like a majority of her classmates were already done with the brewing process, although there were still a few individuals furiously whisking away at their cups. Remembering the bitter and rather unpleasant taste of the powder by itself, Ami placed the rim of the cup against her lips, gently blowing on the hot tea before taking a sip. Spluttering slightly from the shock of the heat, she tried her best to process just what it was that she was drinking and tasting. It wasn't... horrible, but she wasn't quite sure if she enjoyed it. Taking another curious sip, she let the flavor roll around her mouth properly this time, now accustomed to the heat of the tea. It kind of tasted like grass, but... enjoyable grass. She took another sip, just to wash down the lingering taste of powder in her mouth, and then another, and before long, the fourth year realized that she'd downed the whole cup.

"Darn," she muttered to herself with a laugh, getting to her feet. Now she would have to make herself another cup of matcha, having finished her first one... not that she minded.

Xailah wasn’t someone that Piérre wanted to bother for the most part, but just as the Prefect had memories of him from the Hospital Wing, he had memories of her as well; and the horns which had grown from her crown which signified a not entirely human lineage. Truth be told, Piérre tried not to follow or over-observe (one could call it stalking, I suppose) another person, so this opportunity to speak to her was something that the boy was taking as a blessing, regardless of how his presence was received.

As he remembered, Xailah was one for a prompt, almost quipping response, slathered with shaded contempt. It was something that was a little humorous to the boy, hearing the smooth yet composed voice, and instead of showing any visible disappointment, he felt himself smiling a bit while trying to force down a bubble of amusement. “Depends. Would I still be allowed to talk to you if you did?” He responded in turn, shrugging slightly and tipping his head on its side.

To some, Piérre was often pleasant company. To others, he was frequently a stitch in their side. It was a duality that the boy balanced on as if it were a tightrope, teetering from side to side, trying to find his crowd and instead ending up a bit of the weird loner. His enthusiasm, it seemed, was something which was rare in this school; for a reason the lad was able to comprehend without much difficulty. He was not an innocent to the mysterious and dark circumstances which laid in the shadow of Hogwarts castle. Indeed, he found himself in the thick of it more often than not, always managing to shimmy away or evade the brunt of danger whenever he had the chance. Only recently had his elusive defense been penetrated, but the boy was committed to becoming stronger and better then he was before. Let rumors circulate around the school of his auspicious actions and variable personality which changed at the roll of a dice, or events in which he mysteriously seemed the cause or the catalyst of. The Jester was not affected by those trivial things, and Piérre was set aside from them.

And Xailah, it seemed, was in the mess of it too, even as little as Piérre knew about the prefect. She just seemed to be in the right place. Just like the boy himself. Mysterious circumstances.

But oh, then Piérre saw the fat grey cat. To be honest, Piérre had seen a lot of cats around the school, and having a cat himself, who was he to not appreciate the loyal felines? But this one? How could the boy forget it? So this was Xailah’s cat? He seemed very sweet. “Hi buddy!” He waved at the cat for a moment before returning his attention to Xailah again. “Yours?”

Figaro was not entirely paying attention to the conversation, more entertained by a longer bit of grass that he was rubbing his muzzle on. His black tipped tail flicked back and forth excitedly at the scents and the people, picking up the scent of foreign cat as well. Shaking quickly, the silver cat took a few pawsteps closer to his brother, looking up at the tall girl and the large grey cat which was closeby. “Prrrrr-mou.” His eyes half closed as he lifted his nose to pick up their scents before finding his attention attracted most to the grey cat who looked a bit older than himself. With a kitten’s curiosity, the Bengal wasn’t feeling much fear, trotting over and extending his neck further than his shoulders. The tip of his tail arced over his back a bit, curious and investigative.

In response to Xailah’s observation of his clothes, Piérre dipped one foot behind the other and made a sort of head-dipping half-bow. “Thank you!” He let himself smile a little more, feeling his inner glow brighten a bit. He wasn’t being outright pushed away, so that was good!

At her sort of... demand? To sit, Piérre took it, crossing his legs and then lowering himself down in a crisscross while setting his tea supplies on his lap and then repositioning it on the ground next to him after realizing that sitting in that position would not have been comfortable for long. Humming tunelessly to himself, the boy tried to organize his materials, recalling the steps briefly. Tea first, then water? Or was it water first and then tea?

“Hm?” He responded at first to Xailah’s question angled towards the boy’s silver Bengal. Letting his brain reboot for a moment, the boy then responded brightly. “Oh! This is Figaro. He’s really young, so don’t be afraid to just kind of... nudge him out of the way if he’s bothering you at all. Still trying to teach him manners.” The last part was a sort of whisper, the boy putting his hand up to his mouth, as if it were a secret to be kept away from his cat. “He’s so well behaved.” He nodded towards Xailah’s own ward. “Looks very happy to be with you.”

You could always judge the quality of a person by their pet. Though large, the handsome grey fellow looked very content and pleased. Piérre had a nagging suspicion that despite Xailah’s seemingly detached and disinterested exterior the prefect was more than what first met the eye.

Henry would join his friend on the blanket before placing the plate with the three bamboo skewers in the middle of them giving them a light smile as he listened to their French. Not a lot of his friends spoke the language and he didn't really use it at home a lot but he more than enjoyed it when he did speak the language, it reminded him of his mum at times mainly because she was the one who taught him French or bits of it.

Henry would eye his dorm mate when the purple hair commented on his question but didn't take much time to dwell on him. Bringing his focus back on Cash as they tries his dango and breaking down into a bit of laughter at their comment about the sweet. The teen knew he wasn't that good at baking or cooking so he expected something like that as he took off one and took a taste not exactly loving it either but it wasn't terrible.

"It's not that bad but isn't that good either," Henry commented before smiling a little at Cash's comment about sharing as he spoke" always."

The teen would nod slightly as they explained they were suppose to be brewing matcha tea but apparently didn't know exactly what they were doing as he spoke" your tea won't be that bad and I'm here to help you need it Cash," the teen offered a smile as he watched the purple hair begin creating the tea.

Letting his eyes drift away only once when he recognized Scarlett and would give the red head a smile with a slight wave while Loki must have notice her to because he bounded from his spot between the to slytherin and briskly walked toward Scarlett.

Rubbing once against her legs and giving a sharp meow almost asking the girl to pet him. Occasionally pawing at her ankles in a playful manner however if Rose would touch him then he would rub against her once or twice before turning his attention back on Scarlett. But if Elisabeth would try to touch him, the feline would freeze and stare at her for a moment before moving closer to Scarlett, keeping one on the girl almost like he didn't trust her which the feline did have trust issues so.

Henry would turn his attention back toward when Cash spoke about their tea causing a small chuckle from the teen when he heard their description in French before replying, "grass juice that almost decided to set in a dainty cup and serve it to friends," the boy would smile toward his friend as he spoke" I dare."

Lifting the cup up and taking a slip before putting it down as he swallowed before speaking" it isn't that bad and it goes with the dango at least," grinding a bit as he just suggested both of their items weren't great before eyeing the powder as he spoke" it would be a shame of the powder went unused through," mischief seen in his eyes as he gave a playful smile before cupping some powder in his hand and throwing it at Cash's face and shirt as he spoke after, " it slipped."

As he lay drifting, Frost in his thoughts, a familiar figure imposed herself between the sky and his self. This figure being backlit by the sun would be cause enough for him to sit upwards, though not without acknowledging her from voice alone. "Carolyn Hunt, is that you?" Syl said sweetly as she offered him some of her Dangos, hardly making a peep as he rose upright. "I'd love to try one." Before he even had a chance to take a sample from her, a complete stranger lay in his lap. It was almost reflexive, soft fur found its way beneath his fingernails and scratches to the chin were administered with love and affection. "Who's the little guy?" Sylvain asked, chuckling as the two got well acquainted. Syl motioned for Carolyn to sit next to him on the blanket. Both were a welcome distraction from his daydreaming.

Taking one of the treats she had offered him, Sylvain popped the dango into his mouth without so much as a second thought. She was right, these weren't as sweet as they looked, but the flavor was unlike anything he'd ever eaten before. His eyes would widen in disbelief as he looked to her again. With his mouth nearly full he would ask, "Dihd you mahke dhees?" but he wouldn't wait for her to answer before complimenting them, rather he would swallow them down and let his smile do the convincing. "They taste wonderful!" Rather unsure if she would think the same of his matcha, he still wanted to offer the drink to her, though perhaps with a cautious warning. "I followed the recipe to the letter, but I'm still not sure I made it right." Such was life when potion making and tea brewing. His eyebrows peaked with concern, he asked for her interest. Interacting with: @Sylvain Wyllt
Image posted by the member Sylvain sounded a bit distracted when he acknowledged her presence and for a brief moment Carolyn wondered whether it was a right choice to interrupt his moment of peace. Still, his voice came out as kind as ever and he seemed to be genuinely interested in the offered treat. However, before she could hand one to him, her furry friend decided to intervene. The young witch watched as Mordred shamelessly enjoyed his scratching session, feeling a great sense of relief. "That would be my mischievous friend Mordred," she introduced her cat as she slowly sat down next to the boy. "He is extremely smart and loyal but he can be a bit of a douche to people. I'm still working on his social skills, apparently nobody wanted to adopt him because of his nasty temper but he is getting better and sometimes he really takes liking to someone." She said with a smile, sincerely glad Sylvain was one of those people.

Soon enough, her classmate reached out and took one of her mitarashi dangos from the plate. Carolyn bit her lip nervously, waiting for the boy's reaction. Turns out she really DID a good job. Carolyn let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding. "Thank you, I'm glad you like it. Though to be fair I probably have an advantage on most of the other kids. My grandma taught me to cook and one of the Korean sweet snacks is quite similar to these." She decided to omit the fact that she had to do the cooking for her family most of the time and now that her grandma was in hospital she would probably do all of it. Sylvain didn't need to know as much and she was not someone to bother others with her troubles. Instead she decided to focus on his next question.

"Sure, I would love to try." Carolyn nodded with great interest. She never really drank matcha tea before so she probably wouldn't know if it was done perfectly but she was curious all the same. She took a sip of the green liquid, considering the taste carefully. "Actually, I think you did a pretty good job," she said sincerely. "Granted, I never had it before so I may not be the best judge but from what I heard it seems to taste just right." The drink had a hint of grassy taste and bitterness yet there was also underlying sweetness underneath all that. Not too much but it was there. Carolyn kind of liked it. "Though I assume it's a bit more suitable for my taste than yours, isn't it?" She smiled at the boy who always seemed to carry chocolate frogs with him everywhere he went. It was kind of cute. She didn't get to eat a lot of candies growing up so she never developed the sweet tooth lime many other kids did but she didn't mind too much. As a ballerina, she had to keep her body in shape anyways. "Did you ever have a chance to taste Korean cuisine?" The girl asked as an afterthought.

His mouth lingered ajar ever so slightly, eyebrows peaking as Carolyn took a sip. Ever fiber of his being was interested in how she reacted to his concoction. As she complimented his work, he would blush ever so slightly, finding awkward silence to be his best response to her praise, speaking up only after she asked his opinion. "Stuff's just not for me, but I don't think its farfetched to think that someone else might enjoy it." Looking around Syl could see that it didn't seem too many others had enjoyed the drink either, but that didn't seem to deter Carolyn in the slightest. Popularity and taste hardly intersected.

While shaking his head no, Syl remembered to speak up. "Sorry to say I haven't had the chance to, so no." Most of what he ate was chocolate now that he thought on it. Whatever meals the school served were rarely an attractive choice, even if they were magically prepared meals meant to cater to the individual's taste, he found himself reluctant to eat more often than not. "But if you've ever got any to share, I trust your cooking." His smile would come back as gentle as it had been before. "Besides, anything you make has gotta beat whatever they serve here, any day of the week."

A thought occurred as he cuddled with Mordred, an eyebrow raising as he processed the thought with a grin. Could it be that Carolyn gave them this namesake because of a discrete love for the legends of King Arthur? He simply had to ask if she was interested. "Are you a fan of the legends of King Arthur?" He'd seen some of the television series, and of course it would have been uncharacteristic of him not to have read all the books he could get his hands on. The prospect of talking with someone else who'd potentially nerd out with him about it would make him noticeably more excited. Anticipation tingled at his toes and gave him goose bumps.
