Her camera, an extension of herself, moved fluidly from the little pygmy puff and settled on Michael snapping a quick shot of the boy smiling to himself. While Percival explained his understanding of why she liked candid photos, this was the perfect example. Had anyone noticed the quiet boy sitting next to Percival? Sitting there having finished his tart and finally allowing himself to relax enough for a smile. It was moments like that that she loved. The unseen or unrecognized moments of joy and peace, something they had so very little of it at Hogwarts, it seemed.

Her camera would find her lap once more as her attention turned back towards Percival. “Sometimes, yeah, most people usually get used to it and ignore it or put the shutter sounds in the background, like hearing it but not listening to it. Others are incapable of not looking at a camera when it is pointed at them, but it is all about learning to deal with it as a photographer. I learned that from my father when I helped him photograph an event once; he told the people to just try to forget we were even there in the first place. I was almost surprised at last year’s blossom ball when no one said anything about the camera being there.”No one but Thomas, of course; she shrugged and looked down at her camera. The best connection that she still had to her father beside his books, but the camera was much easier to take around Hogwarts than the books he had written.

As Kara came over and announced her departure, Santario would offer her a wave in Kind. “Nice to formally meet you.” She was trying, and that’s what mattered, right? For a socialized pureblood, you would think that socializing would come easy. And it did within a carefully manicured and controlled environment. But at school, when people ignored you, and you felt like everyone hated you, and you just did not understand why, well, that was a different monster altogether. Something easier to avoid than to confront. “What about you, Percival? Do you have any hobbies besides just being outdoors?”
