As more spells flew across the room, one thing was clear for everyone that was watching the duel: the Lions had no intention of giving up and stop fighting for the victory.

During the previous round, the Gryffindor team didn’t have a lot of luck, but it seemed like things had changed. Even if Lamik did not succeed in hitting Ileen with his Flipendo, Raine had finally managed to land her Curse of the Bogies on Alexander, returning the favour. The young Slytherin could feel his nose getting runny, as an unpleasant wave of nausea hit his stomach.

Maybe it was because of the curse, but when he aimed for Lamik, ready to hit him with a Flipendo, the young Gryffindor had managed to avoid the spell, the blue lights hitting somewhere behind him.

As all of that happened, Ileen not only successfully avoided the aforementioned Flipendo, but also managed to get close enough to her wand to pick it back up from the floor, bringing the duel back to a 2vs2 match.

With one person per team hit by the Curse of the Bogies, and with all of them able to cast spells, the fate of the duel was not decided yet. What will happen next?

Ileen narrowed her eyes when she saw Alexander being hit by the curse. What a bummer. She shuddered at the memory of the feeling that came over her from that spell. She would never forget the lesson where they had tried it.

Well, now it was even more important for her to get back in the game. She had been useless for too long already. With a bold step, she moved toward her beloved wand. Only a few more inches… and that's when she saw the flash of light coming at her out of the corner of her eye. Reflexively, she dropped flat to the ground and felt the spell shoot over her. Phew, that had been close.
In the same movement, she grabbed her wand, rolled over her shoulder, and got back to her feet.
A slight smile appeared on her lips. She felt so much safer with the familiar wood in her hand. She could literally feel the confidence and strength returning to her.

Turnabout was fair play and the thought made Raine smirk to herself. The same way that Alex kid had smacked her with the bogies spell, she sent one right back. It took her two turns but she managed to get it to connect. She posistioned her wand to get ready for her next attack.

She hoped that the girl, Ileen, didn't think that Raine hadn't noticed that she found her wand. She was focused on both players, the image in her head making her seem like a chameleon, so she was determined to watch out for both of them attacking her. The question was, would the damage from her sluggish movements allow her to dodge properly or would it hinder her movements further? The third year wouldn't allow this match to screw her over. She had only a little bit of time left as she could feel the cold taking over her body. Sniffling up the snot that was trying to fall out of her nose, Raine nodded at Lamik to let him know she understood the silent strategy.

Alexander's entire attention was focused on his spell, in making sure that Lamik was hit. He made his wand obey him, he cast the spell, but then Lamik just jumped out of the way. Just dodging out of the way of his Flipendo. So focused was he on Lamik that he only saw the dark green spell approaching him when it was too late. He tried to dodge out of the way but the dark green spell hit him right in the chest.

Immediately the identity of the spell was made clear as he felt a sudden headache hit him and his nose grow snotty. He groaned at that, which instead turned into a gurgle. He then looked at Ileen, who at least seemed to have her wand and not get hit. Then he shook his head and attempted to focus. The battle was not over yet, that was for sure.

• If a player successfully casts a spell at a part-Human opponent, they get +1 Accuracy if they attack and +1 Evasion if they're being attacked. This doesn't give any IC knowledge of the opponent's race or talent unless found out in advance or revealed during the duel.

Evasive Maneuvers:
• When a spell was successfully cast at a player with Evasive Manoeuvres, a 1d10 roll is performed prior to Accuracy vs Evasion roll to determine whether the spell will be auto-dodged (roll 10). The Accuracy vs Evasion roll will not be needed in case of success.
• The auto-dodge chance can stack only to 20% from any number of sources and in this case 9 or 10 would be considered a success.

Alright. Maybe things weren't as bad as he thought. Lamik finally managed to get control of his feet, and so of course, he immediately stopped dancing. Raine was suffering from what was at this point probably a fever, but at least Alexander was on his way to be in the same position. The unfortunate thing was that Ileen managed to not only dodge his spell, but also get her wand back.

With every new round, the duel got more and more intense. Lydia watched closely from the sidelines, feeling herself siding with both teams: they were all doing their best, trying to secure a victory for their house.

The Gryffindor team had started quite well, with Lamik hitting Ileen with a powerful Flipendo right on her left shoulder, even if the girl had almost avoided the attack. Raine's target was Ileen as well, but probably the Curse of the Bogies was getting the best of her, and her spell horribly backfired: a black blindfold wrapped itself around her eyes, making it impossible for her to see anything. If that wasn't enough, the nausea and mucus were getting worse, as a new wave on nausea hit her stomach as her nose kept running.

As for the Slytherin team, they had managed to both cast their spells, but they both missed their target; Lamik had managed to gracefully avoid both the wind jinx and the Flipendo that came his way, avoiding any damage for this round. As for Alexander, his nose had started running more, as a wave of nausea hit him; the curse of the bogies was getting worse for him as well, and Lydia felt incredibly sorry for the both of them.

Nothing was certain yet in the duel, any team could still win, and as the fight progressed, the tension in the air grew only thicker.

What would happen next?

Raine heaved a bit as the new wave of nausea hit her stomach just as hard and fast as the blindfold had smacked across her eyes. Kneeling on the floor, she took a bit of time to focus on her breathing so that she didn't upchuck her last meal upon the dueling platform. This was entirely embarrasing. She didn't mean to blind herself...for some reason when she sent the spell at Ileen, she fumbled the words and it completely backfired on her. Maybe the congestion she was feeling as well as the increase in her saliva as threw her off her game. Man, she hated this damned spell. But maybe she could chance still casting at her opponents while blindfolded? It was a daring chance she could take... but not a 100% one. But it still seemed interesting and funny to her to attempt.

For now, she needed to focus on the next plan that she would have to work out on her own. Hopefully Lamik could handle the next moves on his own.

Ileen had her wand back. Finally! Now, it was time to make a move and support Alexander. The wind jinx was the young girl’s choice.

Maybe she was too focused on her own action, but as she saw the spell coming her way, it was already too late. Lamik’s Flipendo hit her right on the shoulder that was already injured. Although Ileen gritted her teeth, a silent groan escaped her, as the pain shot through her whole body. One moment she had to fight to stay on her feet.
Frustration rose in her. Why was she so useless this time? Hadn’t she sworn to herself to be strong and thus a valuable team member? So far, she seemed not to be able to keep that promise.

With her heart beating fast she raised her wand and pointed it at the Gryffindor boy. “Ventus!” The spell was perfectly cast, but the boy gracefully dodged her attack, making it look like it was too easy.
Ileen bit her lower lip, a grim expression on her young face. It would be hard to turn this around, but she was far from giving up.

Regardless of what actually happened, Lamik didn't feel graceful. Two spells were sent at him at once. TWO! It was lucky that he wasn't dead! On the bright side, he managed to hit Illeen again, which was something. Lamik was far too focused on his opponents to actually realize that Raine's spell had misfired. That would have really brought his mood down even more though, so maybe it was a good thing.
