The day was chilly, but it wasn't as if Piper was bothered by this. She enjoyed the cold weather quite a lot. Rather, it was when it was warm that she was terribly uncomfortable. Her jacket was light, and she wore an inwardly fuzzy pair of leggings, but that was all that was required. Snow was all around - in fact, Piper was unsure that she had ever seen as much snow as Hogwarts saw during the winter. Her Christmas break spent in London had been much less full of the powdered ice.

Spending Christmas at home had been warming and Piper was glad to see her family again, though Eleanor had commented on Piper's even more reserved nature. While there were some things Piper didn't share with her mother (such as the negative portions of her report card), she truly did enjoy describing Hogwarts and spellcasting in vivid detail. It was nice to be back, in short. However, something was missing. Hogwarts had become almost a secondary home, despite Piper's negative outlook on it. She did love her classes, and though she enjoyed watching people more than interacting with them, the students and professors were what made the experience.

And so Piper had returned on the train. It hadn't been long before the snowman competition had come along. A semester ago, Piper would have refused to do anything of the sort on the spot, but since her interaction with Ross Stephens building a snowman, she had discovered the Art of Snowman-Building wasn't so bad after all. And with this one, she could go all out. Though Piper wasn't very sure she liked the idea of her created snowman springing to life and singing(a few of the other students' were rather unsettling), she did like the idea of doing whatever she wished with her snowman. The towers of supplies did look appealing.

Without further ado, Piper walked to a good, free spot and began to pack snow into a pile. She knew that no matter what she did, she'd need a good base. The snow was cold on her bare hands, but she didn't mind at all. The numbing pain was almost...satisfying. Once the pile was roughly three times as big as her head, she sat back to think about what she wanted the snowman to look like. Calculating, she decided it would have a hat. Ideally a beanie, because beanies were cool. What else? Thinking to herself and scanning the supplies stock, Piper also decided that it might be neat to give it mismatched buttons and a scarf. In terms of shape...in her mind, Piper envisioned a thin torso and mittens. She would use coal for the eyes and a carrot for the nose, of course, but the carrot would be inverted for the sole purpose of being different.

"Alright, snow, it's just you and me." she muttered. It was time to build. Piper slowly began to shape snow into a thin pile. She got halfway up the torso, however, before her snow crumbled off the top. That wouldn't work, then. A fatter snowman would have to suffice. Sighing, Piper flattened the snow and attempted to pile it as high as she could. The head was more squished and oval than she had hoped, but it would do. Piper ran over to the supplies, watching her breath in the air. She scooped up buttons, coal, gloves (she couldn't find any mittens), a carrot, sticks, and a purple and white scarf. Piper reached her workspace and VERY CAREFULLY tied the scarf about the snowman's nonexistent neck. The coal was neatly lined into the shape of a smile, and its buttons lined down its front to imitate a jacket.

The sticks were shoved into the snowman's sides. One was significantly shorter than the other, but no matter. Unfortunately, the gloves were a greater issue - they flopped on the sticks. Lastly, the carrot was stuck in the middle of the head, and the point going in first made things quite easier to stick. Sighing, Piper gave up on the gloves and stepped back to survey her creation. It seemed very...happy. She frowned and adjusted the smile to something a bit more subtle. It was perfect.

Glancing about, Piper called to a house elf. It was a curious little thing, with large batty ears. "Hello... Would you mind bringing my snowman to life?" She wouldn't be singing any carols but it would be interesting to talk to a snowman. The elf complied, of course, and Piper was fascinated at the result of the enchantment. Her snowman leaned forward, snow enhanced to not melt or fall. "Hello there! Merry late Christmas and New Year!" Its voice was uncomfortably deep and Piper quickly requested the snowman to be turned back. "Thank you." She did wonder how the enchantment worked, but that was a question for the house elves for another day. Snowman building could be quite a lot of fun!

An errand to build snowmen. Admittedly, this was not the most exciting endeavor to which Evelynn had been drawn. In fact, historically, she might have considered it entirely a waste of time when it would have been better put towards assignments, studying, or practicing for Quidditch, to name a few. Since her return to Hogwarts after the holidays, however, she had been forced to take on a slightly different perspective. Now pegged with the little badge emblazoned with a 'P', she felt the obligation to present herself as a supportive role model only all too keenly. And what sort of role model would she be if she didn't support her peers in their efforts to provide supervised fun for the rest of the student body. Thus, with leather gloves pulled up snug, woollen scarf and beret firmly in place, and warm duffle coat buttoned up her front, she had strolled out with the rest of them to take her place in a patch of the courtyard whose crust of freshly powered snow remained as yet unmarred by the tromping of feet.

Really, it wasn't all that bad, she reflected, bending to scoop snow between her hands. Straightening, palms worked to pack it together and smooth off the rough edges until it looked like a respectable snowball. Perhaps she might not have pursued this of her own accord, but it wasn't like she couldn't be caught dead building a snowman. In fact, had there been a respectable snowfall at home over the holidays, she was quite certain her mother would have dragged her outside to build one together. Or perhaps a whole family of them by the time they were through. Plus, it was always entertaining to see how the horses would react to their new sentinel neighbours in the pasture.

A faint smile curled the corners of her lips as Evelynn crouched and put the snowball to the ground. With practiced motions, she pulled and pushed neighbouring snow towards it until it had grown enough in size that she could more easily get it to rolling. She also had to commend the weather itself. Not all snow was good snow for building snowmen, she was told. Sometimes, according to her mother, if it was too dry—she had never known snow to be dry—it didn't matter how much pressure and packing one did. It would simply fall apart. This, though, it seemed almost as though there were an adhesive mixed into it. It stuck to itself easily and she had the makings for a nice base to her snowman in very little time at all.

From there, it was a matter of creating a middle sphere for the thorax of the body; and then a third smaller one for the head. She could have left it at that, really. Even without any embellishments, no one would have argued that her three tier tower of snowy spheres was certainly a snowman. But it wasn't a man of snow that she wanted to build. This year, her mother had talked at length of how much more fun it would be to create woodland creatures from the snow for a sense of variety and creative challenge. Caught up in the moment as she was, Evelynn wished to fulfill her mother's wishes. It would make her smile, she knew.

So, on she continued with her endeavors. First a pair of feet build out from the base with some added packed snow for haunches. Then a pair of paws that wrapped around its middle as though holding its tummy up from falling to the floor. Then a pair of rounded ears added onto the head at fairly wide intervals. And a squat snout molded to the front. Finally, she took her time to carve out the shapes of claws, the indent of the mouth and nose, and add a few details that would largely be lost to the shadows from a distance anyway; but she didn't care. It was the thought and effort that counted. Finally, for the finishing touches, she went in hunt for a pair of stones to use as eyes. When eventually she stepped back from her work, her snowbear was a far cry from a masterpiece. And when offered by the elves to have it enchanted to sing or dance, she shook her head.

It was perfect just the way it was.

Another Errand was up and Opeila was not going to miss out. Especially not, as it was organized by a certain Ravenclaw prefect, who she couldn't exactly call a friend yet, but heading towards that direction. At least it seemed like he had befriended her cat, which the young Slytherin considered a great big miracle. Also- This errand had something to do wit snow. Opeila was an unusual kid in many different ways, but when it came to snow, she was back to being the excited elementary school child in only one moment. Last year the winter had been darkened by the poisoning of her mother. This time it was lightened by Pericles Dralt's discovery- her cousin.

The knowledge of it had helped Opeila significantly through the last weeks, taking a weight of her shoulders of which's existence Opeila hadn't even been aware. It's disappearance had made her feel like she was able to breathe for the first time in months.
When she left the castle, the cold air hit her in the face like a wall. The child's cheeks reddened in the breeze, that still carried a few lone snowflakes, that melted on her skin the moment they landed on it. For a few moments Opeila just stood there, enjoying the feeling, the icy smell of the winter air, that ruffled her hair and found it's way under her coat, causing her to wrap her arms around herself.

She had to get moving again or she would get cold before she had even joined the activity, so Opeila made her way to the place the errand was going to take place. The Slytherin smiled at the crunching of the snow under her shoes. Good snow for building, she didn't need her seer senses to know that.
Most of the snow was still even and untouched, shimmering whenever the sun shone through the clouds, Opeila almost didn't want to walk on it. Sometime in the next years they would learn a spell that erased their footprints. The second year would probably mostly use it for silly occasions such as this.

Reaching the place, she realized that she was by far not the first. The snow was the exact opposite of the even area she just walked through, cut by trails formed by snowballs of different sizes. The air was filled with chatter and laughter, making Opeila smile as well. The second year crouched down and scooped up some snow, that she shaped into a little ball to roll over the ground.
It only took a few minutes for her ball to reach a size a weight she struggled to roll further. It was higher than her knees now. Enough? She examined her work. Yes, enough.

Opeila started to roll her second ball, always watching her first one, so no one would steal it. The never ending competitions from the playground of her elementary school. It had always been like that. Once the snowball was not watched, someone felt free to take it. And later the finished snowman was destroyed by the original creator of the first snowball. Oh, how many crying children Opeila had seen fighting over snow. Elementary school...

Once the snowball had the size Opeila wanted, the second year drew her wand. There was nowhere that she could lift the snowball on the first. What was she a witch for? "Wingardium Leviosa!" One of her best spells. The snowball rose up in the air, floating over to her first one. Opeila followed, carefully letting it land on the first one. Quickly she held it- So often her second snowball had fallen off the first one and broken apart. That would not happen this time. Holding the ball up with one hand, she scooped up some snow with the other to stabilize it. Once she found that the second snowball would stay in place, she started with the third- this one would be the easiest, a little smaller than the other two- the head. Opeila didn't place it on the other two balls at once, first she took some coal for the eyes and the mouth, then a carrot for the nose.

Finally, as an afterthought, she took two twigs to put on top of the snowman as antlers. No reason really, it was just a spontanous idea. The second year picked two larger twigs and three buttons to take back to the headless snowman. Opeila decided to first put the three buttons and the twigs into the second ball, before she put the head on top- again, it lowered the risk of anything falling apart. There he was. Dennis, the snowman. Why Dennis? Well... no idea!
As another afterthought, Opeila formed to small balls to place on the snow in front of him. His feet!

Jacob just wanted to take a breath of fresh air but as soon as he was outside he couldn't help but notice a dozen of merry snowmen, each one different from the others. It kind of reminded him of a cemetery, where the snowmen were tombstones representing happiness. Actually, he thought, the comparison wasn't accurate at all. He was never good at comparisons- in fact, his head always gave birth to silly complex ideas.
He noticed that the area had been carefully set up: there were carrots, twigs, buttons, coal, corn cobs. "Only a Hufflepuff could do something as corny as this", he thought. "Ravenclaws are too proud to organize something as childish as this, Gryffindors are too busy bragging, and Slytherins take no interest in snowmen". "Let's see if the Hufflepuffs did a good job".
He went to take a look at the creations. As soon as he passed by a snowmen, it said "Hello!" "AHH!". Jacob went this close to having a stroke. Since when could snowmen talk? The elves, who were bustling around, were now laughing at him, although it was clear that they had no intention in mocking him. He was, once again, mindblown. Which wondrous spell could have done something like that? He didn' have any spell in his repertoire, and the Hufflepuffs were out here outclassing him?! This was unacceptable. He was going to build a snowman as classy and pretty as a Michelangelo.
He started adding layers and layers of snow as if his life depended on it, and in no time the bottom part of his creation was done: a nice round sphere of snow was now crafted into existence: "two more spheres to go", he mumbled to himself. When three balls were finally sitting one on top of the other, it was time for decoration, time to shine. He opted for the standard approach: a nice looking carrot for the nose, two big pieces of coal for the eyes (of size as equal as possible), and a dozen little pieces for the smiling mouth. Two black buttons on the "chest" (the ball in the middle), two twigs for the arms. He tied and twirled the leaves of the corn cobs to try and make a bowtie. He needed lots of tries to nail the bowtie, but he succeeded in the end. The snowman was done! It wasn't alive, nor was it a Michelangelo... but it looked ok? "Well, at least it wasn't falling apart", he thought. "And the bowtie is a nice classy touch". He needed to pat himself on the back since nobody was there to do that. "If I could make him talk, my masterpiece would finally be completed".
And just like his thoughts were written on his forehead, an Elf approached the child and asked: "Would you like me to bring it to life?" "Sure! Thanks!" Jacob replied. "But only if it can sing!".
The elf waved his fingers in an elegant motion, and all of a sudden the snowman started moving his "head", like he was trying to stretch after sleeping for a long time. The Elf stood there silently, hands crossed in a listening pose, waiting for the magic to speak, and so did Jacob. The snowman, proud of its crowd, lifted a twig looking at the horizon and started to sing right away with a deep calming voice:

On the notes of "The Christmas song" by Nat King Cole

Snowmen resting in the chilly air
Jack frost nipping at your nose
Crazy spells being cast everywhere
And folks dressed up in classy cloaks

Everybody knows a fireplace and some wizard chess
Help to make the season bright
Lots of snow will relieve all the stress
And bring you happiness tonight

[...]

And so I'm offering this simple phrase
To wizards, witches, near and far
Although it's been said many times many ways
You're a wizard, you are

"You can bet on it Aaron!" Sylvain said in reply to his friend's invitation to check out his snowman. The young prefect smiled slightly, proud of how many people had come to participate. Secretly he had high hopes that the errand would be a big success, and the turn out was much higher than he had intended. There were enough people here building snowmen that the entirety of the grounds had began to feel a whole lot merrier. It was moments like this that he would cherish when he got older, he could feel it even now.

He smiled a big wild grin as his Ravenclaw Prefect predecessor called his name out. She was finally here! Weaving through the gathering, and avoiding more than one dancing creation, Sylvain and Cecily finally found themselves face to face. "I can't wait!" he said, voice a bit too loud with excitement, "Let's pick a spot to build a base!"

The more he looked around, the more inspiration he gathered. There was such a diversity of creation that no matter whose sculpted golem he observed, beauty could be found in the choices they had made. Each golem was an artistic reflection of their owner, and the materials he had thought to procure were being put to good use. Some even in ways he hadn't thought possible until he saw made real.

Flash, having caught his eye whilst Sylvain was surveying a spot to start the process of building, earned back a wave and a wink. His catlike snowman was absolutely adorable, and far from what Sylvain thought his friend might build. He had never known Flash to be much of an animal person, even with all the horses his family owned back home. Cute was probably a better word to describe him.

Evelynn, a prefect whom Sylvain had still been too shy to properly introduce himself to was even attending the event. Her snow bear was an awesome sight to behold, it's very creation the proof of her powerful imagination. Even Opeila had come to play with them, and although they had not properly bonded the way friends usually do, he was rather pleased to witness a grin on her face. The last time they had spoken, her spirits had seemed low. It felt to him that his plan was working.

His classmates were smiling again.

As he picked a good spot to lay the founding ball for their snowman, Sylvain recognized only one flaw in his otherwise immaculate plan. Turning to the older girl with concern on his brown and worry in his voice, Sylvain asked Cecily a question with quieted doubt. "Have you seen Gris at all today?" He really wanted to thank her for all her help making the posters. There was just no way he could have done it without her. "This wouldn't have been possible without her help and I still haven't gotten to thank her."

Starlee had returned from the winter break overwhelmed with emotions. The train ride back was eventful, her trip to her Grandpappy's was an absolute blast, and she had even gotten a pet all for herself: an owl named Borvo. He was simply the cutest thing and she ended up going up to the owlery to visit him quite often.

On her way to one of these visits, she ran across a poster for an upcoming event that sounded quite interesting: the creation of an army of dancing snowmen. Seemed like quite the noble cause indeed! Star giggled to herself a bit but decided that she would go and join in the winter festivities after she met with her owl.

She returned to the common room after cooing at and petting Borvo, dawned on a thick winter coat, hat and gloves, and headed out to the grounds. It seemed that many others were already putting their snowmen together, some decorating them traditionally, others taking some liberties. Her excitement grew as she saw a few snowmen come to life, dance, and sing a song. 'Yes!" This was exactly what this little first year had been hoping for.

She headed over to the baskets of items that had been gathered for the event and began mulling over her options. Of course, she grabbed the typical snowman building items, two pieces of coal for the eyes, a slightly bent carrot for the nose, and some smaller sized coal for the mouth. She then contemplated what else to grab. There was some strange leftover lost and found items they could use and Star couldn't help but notice a large biker jacket. Who it belonged to, she would never know, but it was then that the inspiration hit her for a super fun 'punk-rock' snowman.

She quickly grabbed hold of the jacket in her free hand and began to head over to the place where she would be putting together her snowman. She set everything down and began to roll up the snow in a circle around her items, slowly making it bigger and bigger, till it was about up to her knees in height.
"Now... That seems just right." she mumbled to herself as she began to start rolling up her second ball, this one to be the torso. She made it to fit the width of the jacket and managed to place it gently atop the base mound, melding the two balls of snow together. Finally, it was time for the head. She again rolled up the third ball, again smaller than the last, with enough space for the coal smirk she was planning to give it. She set it atop the torso ball, packing snow around the sides so it would stay up. In the end, it was only a foot shorter than she was.

But now was time for the fun part: decorating! She grabbed the two large pieces of coal and shoved them in where the eyes should be. She did so again with the carrot, and finally, for the cute little punk rocker smirk. She then draped the jacket over the snowman's torso, being sure to insert sticks where the armholes were. She took a second to look at it, realize it was certainly missing something and ran back to the supplies to grab a bunch of short sticks. She returned to her snowman and began placing the sticks in a row atop the snowman's head, giving him a little mohawk.

"Perfect!" she said, as she then rushed to call the house-elves over so they could bring her amazing piece of work to life. The elf that ran over gave a quick snap of its fingers and her snowman quickly jumped to life before Starlee's eyes.

"Hey, hey, hey there little lady! Thanks for puttin' this old dude together! You wanna rock out for a bit?" He said while pretending to whip out an air guitar. Before Starlee had a chance to respond, he immediately started into a rock 'n roll version of Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, all the while strumming his fake air guitar. Starlee quickly joined in, headbanging along with the snowman. It was definitely a great way to start off the year.

Mentioning @Opeila Winters
During the cold winter in January, it was always difficult for most people to wake up early. Who wouldn't want to stay in the warm and cozy bed forever? Unfortunately for the Gryffindor Prefect. Today she promised Sylvain, the newly chosen Ravenclaw Prefect to join the errand he hosted for the first time. She overslept and now running towards the ground like her life is depending on it. Even though this wasn't her first time to be fashionably late but it was still very embarrassing. She could only hope that Sylvian wouldn't be too disappointed in her being late to participate in his very first errand. And not to mention, she was a year older than him and had more experience as a Prefect so it might give others a bad impression of her clumsiness.

Looking at the sight in front of her everywhere was covered in soft white snow. Everything around her just seemed very serene. The fresh winter air certainly helped her feel more awake than ever. Since she was now outside on the ground covered in slightly thick snow, she had to start walking slowly so she wouldn't trip. She already saw there were students enthusiastically building their own snowmen and heard their joyful laughter and songs. Griseldis smiled softly while looking at the others having fun, she remembered the last time she built a snowman was with her cousins when they were celebrating Chinese New Year in Shanghai. And in the last two years, she didn't really have the opportunity to build a snowman with anyone yet. Griseldis even saw the young Slytherin, Opeila was having a lot of fun building snowman but she needed to greet the Ravenclaw Prefect first before she could have the time to see her.

It didn't take long for her to find him and beside him was another Ravenclaw, she had seen her before because the older girl was a former Prefect before but now she stepped down and became the Quidditch Captian of the Ravenclaw team which was still very admirable in her opinion. When she got near them, Griseldis noticed that Sylvian seemed to have a worried look on his face. Was he worried about her absence or something else? Not wasting any more time, she quickly waved at them and shouted, "Hey! Sorry that I'm late!" then she gave the young Ravenclaw boy a thumbs up with a grin, "I see that a lot of students are really enjoying this errand so far, well done!!" Griseldis complimented him. It was indeed impressive to see his first hosted errand being successful so she was happy for him. "And...thanks for inviting me to join as well, it was quite thoughtful of you. To be honest, I haven't build a snowman for a long time now. I hope that me being late didn't ruin it." Of course, she didn't forget to say thanks for his friendly invitation but she honestly didn't expect that. After all, she only gave him some suggestions and advice about how to host an errand for students.

Jealously, Elisabeth looked at the other students who were having such fun building their snowmen, each was cute and unique and simply wonderful in her eyes.

The Hufflepuff would love to join them, but she could not. She was sensitive to cold weather - like, terribly sensitive. It was not an allergic or an asthma triggered by cold temperature, and therefore some people dismissed her reason for not playing in the snow or wind because of that; they thought that just because it was not classified as a "true" medical condition, it meant she should not "use it as an excuse not to play" with them. Then try to reverse the condition, she sometimes pouted at this kind of people inwardly. Do you want to sleep without air conditioner or fan just because it's 32 degree Celsius and I consider it cozy? Nah, you'll likely say it's too hot and I'm the weird one.

Some of the students' snowmen came alive, or it appeared so. The house elves of Hogwarts put some charms on them, and they began to dance around or sang songs. A number of kids squealed in surprise and delight, all the while Elisabeth grew steadily more jealous of them. She also wanted a singing snowman - even though, logically speaking, she could just get one from a Muggle shop. Not the snow one of course, but a snowman doll made of fabric and filled perhaps with batteries so it could sing, typically a Christmas carol, when one squeezed its tummy.

But she already had not only one but two plush dolls, so chances are her parents would say no for another one. Besides, now that she was responsible for her own things, she understood why adults often complained about how troublesome it was to have too many things. But perhaps she could make a little snowman to put on her desk...

When she was younger, Elisabeth had always wanted to see real snowmen because she grew up in a country where snow did not fall. Because of this, she was very excited when she found an article about handcraft snowmen made of cardboard paper and cotton. Her mamá, though, had said at that time that it would not be easy to shape the cotton into balls, and she would not buy a box of cotton just so Elisabeth could give it a try - and only to give up at the end of the day (when she was younger, Elisabeth did have this bad habit of easily giving up a project).

Now that she was a teenager, or a pre-teen if one might prefer, the Hufflepuff could really try creating a snowman using cotton and a cylindrical cardboard paper. She still had some of these from the one time she participated in a handmade gift-exchange activity hosted by the Hogwarts library.

First, she glued the cotton all over the cardboard cylinder to make the body for her snowman. That process was a piece of cake, but after that, the Belizean realised that her mamá had been right - it was not an easy job to transform the cylinder into two round bodies. She had to use quite a lot of cotton before finally managing to do so. Therefore, for its hands, the Hispanic-Asian girl decided not to use more cotton but brown papers, taped together before they were attached to the body.

After that, Elisabeth proceeded to create its head. This time, she simply roll some cotton into the shape of a ball and glued it on top of the body. As for the face, she used a black paper and cut out three circles for the snowman's eyes and nose, and a crescent moon shape for its smiling mouth.

Suddenly, she had an idea. People usually call this creation a snowman... what if she made a snowqueen instead? Elisabeth went back to her dorm and returned with a Barbie's gown and hat, and dressed her snowqueen in it.

Now she could ask a house elf to charm the little snowqueen so that she could sing.... Could she sing The Twelve Days of Christmas? Perhaps. Let us just see.

"Not at all Gris, I'm just happy you made it!" His grin came back as wide as ever. Wiping the excess bit of snot from the end of his nose with the inside of his elbow, Sylvain pointed out a spot big enough for his plan with enough space beside it for Cecily and Gris to make their own creations beside him. He had not mentioned any of his ideas to Cecily or Gris in his haste to get the plans put together, but he wanted to make his snowman a gigantic dragon. At least seven to eight feet tall, with fairy wings, and the shiniest buttons he could find as the finishing touch. Scales. As he pulled the ingredients out from within his satchel, he explained his plan in a small amount of cryptic detail, leaving them to piece together his ideas themselves.

"I wanna make mine a big one." he said with a tone of excitement, his eyes gleaming with wonder. While rolling out the base of the golem he shaved the edges off of it, morphing it into a boulder of snow. As it got larger and larger, he found that he could not push it on his own. Taking a moment to pull Gris's attention from her own build, Sylvain meekly asked while out of breath, "Can you help me finish this Gris?" He hadn't only invited her because she had helped him, but also because he thought she was strong. Not at all like the wimp he was turning out to be. Still, he didn't let his stature get to him. Even as the others began putting on the finishing touches, their snowmen singing their last goodbyes, Sylvain's merriment didn't show a single sign of fading. He just kept humming and playing in the snow like it was his job.

Rolling out the middle portion, the lad went for a more cylindrical shape than the previous ball he had used for the base. It needed to be long enough for him to attach the wings in a way that kept them off of the ground. The wings had been made from an abandoned costume, salvaged in his spare time. A reminder from the Halloween ball. He thought the contrast in shapes would make the snowmonster more unique at the very least, and look rad at best. As he placed the middle section on top, its wings gracefully flittering in the silvery wind, he began stuffing the buttons into its skin. Using an inverted chevron as a guiding pattern, Sylvain made short work of the tedious labor by following the pattern whilst humming his own tune as he went. In a matter of minutes, the creature's front and back sides were bedazzled in the glistering scales comprised of a thousand buttons. Each one adding to the steadily more powerful illusion of draconic nature.

When it came time to put the head on the beast Sylvain rolled another cylinder giving it a big snout and an open mouth. It wasn't long after forming the crocodile shaped addition that he encountered another issue he couldn't tackle on his own. The snow golem was already a foot taller than he could reach on the very tippy toppy of his toes. Placing the two carrot horns on its head above its ears while stuffing a carrot into the top of its snout like a rhino, he settled on making eyes of coal and using several of the old corn cobs for rows of teeth. Proudly, he stepped back. The monster's head had come together convincingly, but without a person to coronate the creature it was incomplete. "Cecily," Sylvain started a bit quiet at first, uncertain if he was interupting her from something important. "Would you help me put this on top?"

Errand Main Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

Interacting with @Sylvain Wyllt and @Cecily Quinn
Griseldis let out a relieved sigh when the Ravenclaw Prefect said that he was glad that she made it at least and didn't really ruin anything. And seeing the young boy's wide smile, she also smiled back and looked at the direction he pointed where there was an area with enough space for a few people to go there and build a snowman together but Sylvian seemed to already have an idea of his own when he told her and Cecily, that he wanted to build something really big. Noticed how his voice sounded very excited, she could guess that he planned on building a spectacular snowman. As for her, she just wanted to build a normal cute looking snowman, nothing very particular. With the friendly help from a House elf, her snowman became alive and it gave her a cheerful wave. It started singing and dancing in front of her. However, it only lasted for at least 15 minutes then it stopped and no longer moving anymore.

Suddenly, Sylvian asked her if she would help him. Griseldis first looked at the large boulder of snow and noticed that Sylvian was slightly out of breath. Obviously showed that he needed some extra strength cause doing it alone wasn't enough. "Sure!." She beamed with a smile. After that, the lioness silently watched as Sylvian was trying to build the snow into some sort of cylindrical shape. So he wanted to build a snow dragon? she thought to herself. Well, at least it looked like a dragon to her. Sylvian somehow proved himself to be a true Ravenclaw when he used his creative ideas crafting the wings for his snow creation and the way how he decorated was indeed very impressive. Not sure how much of a help she really was since Sylvian pretty much did most of the work, while she was only helping him gathering more snow for him to put into his "snow dragon".

Turning around to see the other Ravenclaw, Griseldis was curious to see what Cecily's snowman looked like. But she couldn't see it because the girl had her back facing her so she asked, "Hey Cecily, can you show me the snowman you build so far, I'm really interested to see what it looks like. Only if you want to." Griseldis also didn't want to force her if she didn't want to and tried to be respectful. She encountered people who were not confident to show their work before and she could understand that. Before hearing the girl's reply, Sylvian would ask her if she would like to help him placing the "head" of the "snow dragon".

And it looked like this magical winter errand would come to an end soon. So far, Griseldis truly enjoyed it even when it was simple and small. Building snowman with friends did make things more enjoyable and it did help her feel things lighter now. Next time, she would find another opportunity to invite Sylvian and Cecily for a cup of tea, not only to thank them but also to deepen their friendship if possible.
