Don't worry about it!

As Ami slowly let out a breath and spoke the words that Abella Marie was her mother, Amadea tried to hide her expression. She wasn't sure if she felt more shocked or confused, but she couldn't forget the wave of understanding that suddenly rolled over her. She didn't know how to react, so she let the other Hufflepuff speak first.

Amadea hadn't been the only one of them that had noticed Ami's mood change as she said her mother's name...it was almost like disappointment, but Amadea wasn't sure. As Ami began to speak about how not talented she was, Amadea sighed. "Ami, I completely agree with Lucy," she said. "It's only your first year. You have so much time to make a name for yourself and I have no doubt that you will." She didn't want to make any assumptions about what Ami's life had been like before Hogwarts, as she didn't know and she didn't want to offend the girl. "If your mother doesn't care, then that's her own fault, not yours."

Amadea could feel the mood in the room just growing darker and darker. Luckily, the topic was changed to something more conversational. "Oh, I don't know...my great grandmother might have a plaque in here somewhere, but I don't have a strong connection to Hogwarts. I'm the first magical person in generations in my family," she said. As she said it, she wondered if her great grandmother was in here. Amadea wouldn't be surprised; her great grandmother was a respectable woman and deserved to be remembered for it. "I'll look around and see if I see anything. But to be honest, I was just exploring the castle and only came in here because I heard the crash."

Ami blushed at her housemates' kind words. “Thank you for that, really- I know I have a lot ahead of me, but I've got no idea of my interests and strengths, and all the usual things you need to know. I suppose I do like History of Magic... but unless I want to pursue a career as a professor, I don't think that's going to get me very far. But really, thank you guys so much for helping me with the case."

Ami laughed embarrassedly; a light, tinkling sound, not unlike a fairy's laugh, emitting from her mouth.  "Whoops," she said with a small smile. "I'm sorry about that- but seriously, I swear I heard someone sneeze- that's what scared the living daylights out of me in the first place. Although, who it could be..." She glanced around the vast trophy room for inspiration as if the culprit would still be in the room. "Yeah. I've got nothing. Amadea, what was your great-grandmother's name? Maybe we can help you look for her."

Stepping away from her mom's display case, Ami started to wander around the room, pointing out the odd Campbell she spotted, on various plaques and medals, wondering if any of them was Amadea's great-grandmother.

Lucy shrugged at the questions of who sneezed. There didn't seem to be anyone else in the room, so it seemed to her as if the culprit would have ran away once the glass case broke. "They were probably embarrassed," she said to herself, glancing once more around the room full of display cases. There were nooks to hide in, but it would be weird if someone had hidden for all this time. It had been at least a half hour since the display case had broken.

Lucy paused, finding a general feeling of alarm slide through her body. Why was she alarmed? She tried to find the source of her sudden anxiety, so she replayed her thoughts. Culprit... hiding... broken case... half an hour... HALF AN HOUR! She jumped visibly, eyes wide in panic. "Oh no!" she cried aloud, turning to the other girls. "I am late for class!"

She scurried first toward the door, but quickly spun on her heels and slid her way back over to the two girls. "Hey, it was great to meet you. I'm sorry to dash off, but Defence Against the Dark Arts started five minutes ago and I'm already struggling in that class. I hope we can see each other again soon." She paused to look both of them in the eye. "We should do something epic soon. Something that doesn't involve cleaning up broken glass," she said with a good-natured grin.

"Anyway, I think you both rock! But now I gotta roll!" she called over her shoulder, giving a little wave as she hastily exited the hall. Oh crap! she thought again, skidding around a corner. I know I'm going to lose points for this.

Lucy has exited the thread.

Amadea wandered around the trophy room, looking for a plaque of her great grandmother and listening to the conversation at the same time. She did wonder who sneezed...if she actually thought about it, it was kind of weird. Did someone sneeze and just leave? Or was it one of the three girls that sneezed and they just didn't want to admit it? She shook her head, stopping her thoughts about the weird things that made her shiver.

She turned as Lucy exclaimed about how late it was and how she was late for class. Amadea glanced at the clock and realized that it was quite late. Fortunately, she wasn't missing any classes because of this excursion, though Lucy couldn't say the same.

She smiled as Lucy suggested a big epic adventure. Amadea would definitely be up for that. "I would love to take an adventure," she said, hoping it sounded as sincere as she felt. "See you later Lucy!" she called as Lucy dashed out of the room to go to her Defense Against the Dark Arts class.

She turned to Ami who was still looking at all of the different plaques around the room. "I suppose I should head out too," she told the other Hufflepuff. "It is getting late. See you around!" She smiled and headed out of the room.

"An adventure," Ami smiled fondly. "That sounds fantastic. I just wish something interesting would happen at this school, every once in a while. Yes, Lucy, run!" Ami yelled encouragingly after the girl's fleeting figure, and sighed in sympathy at the thought of being late to class. Really, tough luck. Amadea, pointing out that it was quite late, also bid her farewells and left.

Ami waved and called out her goodbyes as the other two Hufflepuffs left, and turn to stare back at her mom's display case longingly. There wasn't anyone out there, she believed, that didn't want to be Abella Marie. The gorgeous, perfect witch who had everything going for her. Sighing, Ami slowly moved towards the doors, and whispered under her breath, "I love you, mom." Turning sharply on her heel, she strode off down the corridors (hah, she got it right this time) to go down to the Small Hall for something quick to eat- and to rethink all of her achievements and failures. After all, if she wanted to make a name for herself here at Hogwarts, she was really going to have to up her game. Slacking off and barely passing her classes just wasn't going to cut it anymore.
