I really shouldn't be here… PV Finished

Talking with @Henry Knight.

She saw that Henry seemed excited when she agreed to go to the Shrinking Shack with him, and smiled. “Sounds like a plan!” She was careful not to say date, this time!

Her brow furrowed in consternation, as she agreed with his words about prejudice. “I haven’t experienced or learned about a lot of it, but I know it’s there. My very first train trip into Hogwarts, I was in a compartment with two people who couldn’t stop talking about blood status. Took me a long while to realize that a lot of those people, I am of low status as a Muggle-born…” She sat thoughtfully for a minute, frowning slightly. “But I’ve also met plenty of others who don’t care a lick what someone’s blood status is, so that’s nice.” She had a couple friends who didn’t mind her being a Muggle-born. She was grateful for them!

She turned back to Henry, looking him in the eyes. “I think that’s a great aspiration, Henry,” she said in response to his wanting to fix things for anyone who was stigmatized. “Like I said, with your passion about it, I think you would be good at fixing it for the rest of us.” Her face remained serious as she said this.

She watched him drumming his fingers on his leg, and wondered what he was feeling when talking about careers. “That’s really impressive about your brother; I’m not cut out to be an Auror, so I can totally respect that.” She smiled broadly at his next statement. “That would be cool if we could be partners!” There was such enthusiasm in her voice that she flushed and looked away for a moment until her cheeks cooled, before looking back.

“Yeah, we still have a while to think about careers. It’s hard enough thinking about end of the year exams!” Alexa laughed.

“That’s awesome that you took singing lessons; the most I got was choir, but it helps a lot. You know Broadway shows? I don’t know too many, but I love the music to the ones that I know.” She felt him hesitate after mentioning the last artist’s name. “Oh yeah, I know him. I like a few of his songs,” she smiled.

It occurred to her she hadn’t asked about her current favorite animal at Hogwarts. “How is Loki doing?” She smiled, remembering how friendly the cat had been on the train.

"Definitely," Henry agreed with her when they finish up their planned to explore the shrieking shack during their third year on a trip to hogsmeade.

Henry listened to her talk about prejudiced and her experiences with it before saying she met both sides of it. Henry smiled toward her before saying " it's a shame people still have prejudiced against blood status, it really doesn't matter if your family was magical or not especially since we all hold the same potential at becoming great as each other," Henry turned to look in her bright green eyes before continuing " besides from extended family I never met, my siblings and I never had blood prejudiced probably because of our parents. But after our mum died, well werewolves are also looked at to not a status. Almost a different species really, some put them in the same category as centaurs and goblins."

Henry smiled at her before asking " do you know what house elfs are? Have you ever had one? I don't have one, my mum was against owning one to the despite of my father so we never owed one," he thought about showing her his SPEW badge but decided to hold off for a bit longer.

Henry smiled toward her before brushing a hand through his hair and continuing to drum his fingers on his knee as he spoke " thanks and I'm sure you'll do something brilliant as well Alexa," he smiled toward her and his eyes landed on hers when she mentioned being partners to which his smile grew as he spoke " that would be wicked if we were partners and think of all the good we can do!" Henry then leaned his head back on the wall before saying " have you ever seen a bowtruckle Alexa? There was a family living in a tree near me back in godric hollow, I wished I still lived there so you could see."

Henry nodded in agreement to her about their exams before their conversation moved toward singing and songs. In which he laughed a bit before saying " you were in choir? How that's bloody awesome!" Henry smiled toward her as he looked in her eyes before leaning his head back in the damp wall and continuing " before my mum died my twin and I attended a local mughal school in godric hollow but after we stopped going and our father had us take specific lessons at home from this tutor who was a friend of his, it wasn't best but we learned I guess."

Thinking back to the muggle kids who taught him about Broadway and music, Henry smiled as he spoke " yeah, these local kids in Liverpool after I moved taught me and show me about Broadway show and music. I think they were a bit confused why I didn't know anything about it before all but what shows do you know Alexa? Maybe we can sing a song from them or one of your favorite songs?"

At the mention of his ginger orange cat, Loki Henry smiled before saying " Loki's fine, he's sleeping in my dorm now or causing mischief in the common room but fine."

As Henry explained the loss of his mother and the status of werewolves, Alexa grimaced. “I’m really sorry about your mom… And I can’t believe that people think of other humans that way! Werewolves are still human; at least I certainly think so.” She couldn’t imagine the kind of prejudice Henry had gone through and seen. She didn’t know if she could’ve held up as well as he seemed to have.

She brightened at his house elf question. “I do know what they are, who they are! I know a bunch of them work for Hogwarts, but that they also serve wizard families…” She frowned at her last statement. From what she had read in some recently published house elf awareness books, some was earning families treated the creatures like slaves. “That’s another prejudice that wizards and witches have, isn’t it?” She asked more rhetorically than anything. Unfortunately, she knew the answer already.

She grinned at his enthusiasm at a potential partnership in their future. Then he asked her what something was, but it wasn’t a word she was familiar with. “A – a what?” She felt like she should know this answer, but maybe it was another thing that only children that grew up in the wizarding world knew.

Alexa blushed when Henry said it was awesome that she had been in choir. “How long did you go to the Muggle school?” She asked curiously. She didn’t know young wizards and witches might’ve gone to Muggle schools when they were younger, but she supposed that made sense.

“I don’t know as many musicals as I would like, but I really like “Les Mis” and “The Phantom of the Opera.” Though all the songs I like best are the guys songs,” she said with a laugh. “The girls are usually kind of lame, honestly. Do you know those musicals? What are some of your favorite songs?” She was looking forward to singing with him, even if it wasn’t now.

Alexa smiled at the update on Loki. “I’m glad he’s doing well! I was thinking of getting my rat over the Christmas break, but I don’t think I will be going home, actually. What are you doing for Christmas?”

Henry listened to her and smile a bit, he thought she showered passion or drive when they focused prejudiced something that Henry admired as he spoke" the wizarding world has prejudiced all sorts of things, rubbish I know. But things are getting better at least," Henry turned a little so he could looked into her bright green eyes as she spoke before be wild reply " uh yeah, house elf's are almost like a servant to wizarding families. Some have prejudiced and treat them badly which is horrible but their are some who show them kindness," he knew his best friend's family had one but she showed it kindness and respect at least that's what she told Henry before.

Henry laughed a bit when she question what a bowtruckle was allowing Henry to smile and feel his pockets for a picture. When he found it, he would hand it to Alexa before saying " bowtruckles are these little creatures that live in wand quality woods and usually live in groups. Their social creatures but wearily of people, you just need to build their trust really," Henry looked down a bit as he smiled before meeting Alexa eyes again.

" Uh for two or so years, I went when I was 5 and 6 but stopped after I turned 7 or after my mum died. Did you go to muggle primary school then," Henry spoke as he smiled toward Alexa sort of remembering his time at the muggle school how short it was since his mother died and all but it was also close to his first incident of magic to.

Henry listened to her and nodded a bit before replying " I don't know a lot but I heard of them both. Uh the muggle children told me about the shows Hamilton, Dear evan hansen, wicked, newies, and school of rock I think? Dear evan hansen I think is my favorite so far," he smiled a bit toward her as their conversation turned to pets and the holiday break in which Henry smiled as he spoke " so the training will began January then? Uh yeah I'm also going home for the holiday."

Alexa listen and nodded when Henry continued about prejudices. But he said at the end things were getting better, so she could only hope that was the truth. She hadn’t been in the wizarding world long enough to see any differences, as of yet. But she imagined it had been worse in the past, perhaps. She just really hoped Henry didn’t have to experience any more prejudice because he was a werewolf. It was just unfair.

“Yeah, even if I grew up and married a wizard and had a magical family, I don’t think I could ever “own” a house elf. It just seems wrong, you know? Even if you are nice to them.” She had met very few house elves at Hogwarts, as they usually worked behind the scenes. But the few she had met had been incredibly polite and kind, bowing frequently, so much so that it made her uncomfortable. They had called her Mistress, even when she insisted on them using her first name. Though they seemed happy, she still felt wrong about their servitude.

Henry chuckled at her question about the bowtruckles, and she finally heard the word properly this time when he said it, after handing her a picture. Gazing at the picture, I took a moment to notice the little face on what seemed to be a collection of twigs. She gasped in delighted surprise, and her finger traced over the creature before she handed the picture back. “They are adorable! Did you have any whose trust you had gained?” She asked after listening to him talk about them.

Then they were talking about Muggle schooling again, as Henry answered her question. When he in return asked her a question, she nodded and smiled slightly. “I went for all of my years before Hogwarts. That’s where I was in choir.” She smiled into his blue eyes.

Her eyes lit up when he mentioned the show Wicked. “Oh, I forgot that one! I know Wicked very well,” she smiled thinking of some of her favorite songs from the show. “I don’t know Evan Hansen, who is he?”

“Maybe it will!” Alexa said in response to Henry’s mentioning the training of their animals, as they had talked about on the Express. “What kinds of things do you want to teach Loki?”

Henry nodded toward the girl and looked in her bright green eyes as he remembered SPEW and wondered if Alexa heard of it or wanted to be a part of it to since they both seemed to share similar views on house elf's. The twelve year old took a breath and asked " have you heard of SPEW Alexa? It's short for the society promotion of elfish welfare, I'm a member of it and if you want I could get you a badge so you a member to?" Henry smiled at the girl and tried not to imagine her answer or be to disappointed depending on her answer.

Henry watched her look at the picture of the bowtruckles and smiled a bit as he replied toward her " the picture was taken from godric hollow and those were a family of bowtruckles that lived in a tree near me that I gained the trust of over a few years. Maybe over the summer we could both visit godric hollow and I can show you them?" Henry smiled toward the girl and for a strange reason wanted her to say yes and wanted to go back to his old home with her.

" Choir? Like the frog choir without frogs then. Did you have a lot of solos?" Henry question her after hearing her response about school and choir. He certainly did enjoy talking with her even through they were in a place as damp and dark as the dungeons which didn't bother him.

" I don't know much but maybe you can tell me more about wicked and other shows? Maybe the song we sing can be from a show?" Henry suggested before hearing her question about the show; Dear Evan Hansen.

Henry removed hanging out his friend who was a muggle named Gia and how she introduced to Broadway shows mostly Hamilton through. He tried to remember how she described Dear Evan Hansen to him but faintly remembered being told his voice matched most of the shows songs which he smiled at the memory since he truly did miss talking to the girl.

" Uh a muggle friend told me about shows and I think I remember her telling me that dear evan hansen was about a boy trying to makeup a friend between him and a outcast who took his life but end the changes others lives. I remember her telling me my voice fit the songs which is how I remember that show," Henry spoke his mind on her friend a bit longer before looking back at Alexa's bright green eyes and forgetting all else as he nodded and listened to her.

" What will the winner get then?" Henry asked with a goofy smile before adding " basic stuff like sit and stay and the maybe some more complicated things like beg or walk backward. What about you? What will you teach your rat?"

Alexa was leaning her head back against the wall when Henry spoke about SPEW. She looked at him in surprise, having never heard of it. But when he described it, it sounded like a good program! “I’d very much like to be a member, thank you Henry.” She grinned at him. Just another thing they would have in common.

She passed back the picture of the bowtruckles after studying it intently. It was a wizard photo, so the subjects moved. The little creatures made her smile. “I’ve heard of Godric’s Hollow. Isn’t that where Harry Potter was born? I’ve read just a little bit about him. I would love to go there sometime and meet them! Will they remember you?” She didn’t know how long the creature's memories were, knowing so little about them.

“Exactly like that, no frogs!” Alexa chuckled. It was good to talk to Henry. “I had a few solos, usually around Christmas time. They made me so nervous! I almost couldn’t do them,” she said sheepishly. “But I managed. Have you ever sung with a group?” She asked.

“Wicked is a little hard to explain. Have you ever seen “The Wizard of Oz”? That’s the only thing I can think of to relate to it. With Phantom, let’s see… There is a man who is haunting an opera house. And with Les Mis, it’s about the French Revolution. And a bunch of other things,” she finished lamely, grinning slightly in embarrassment. “I’m not terribly good at explaining, am I?” She laughed slightly.

“So tell me more about this friend of yours,” Alexa said. “She sounds like an interesting friend.”

When Henry referred to the training of animals, and who would be the winner, Alexa laughed. “I don’t know! We will have to make rules for this competition!” She smiled widely at him, staring into his blue eyes. She forgot herself for a moment, and stumbled into answering his question. “Er, what? Oh yeah, I would teach it to sit up and beg, to come what it’s called, to play fetch, and I don’t know what else! Anything I can think of, honestly!” She grew more and more excited about having a pet the more she talked of it.

Henry felt his smiled grow wider when Alexa said that she would like to be a member and something within in felt happier that they would have another thing in common as he spoke " I'll get you a badge then so you can officially be a member."

Hearing her talk about godric hollow brought on old memories from Henry as he remembered living their three or four years ago and how he remembered his room next to his sisters then how they shared one. He leaned his head back on the dungeon walls as he remembered climbing trees and joking around with Scarlett Aden a childhood best friend and for a few moments silence until he spoke " yeah that was where Harry Potter lived and if you went I can tell you more about the place later Alexa. But we should totally plan out a visit there together and I can show you around and the bowtruckles who should remember me," a smile retuning to the boy's face as he started thunk about going to Godric Hollow with Alexa.

As their conversations moved toward singing and choir, Henry listened to her before replying " I'm sure you were great at your solos," before thinking for a bit and continuing " well I sang with my sister a few times and a few others back in godric hollow but always in private unless it was for my father's friends during a dinner thing with the other kids of course," the boy smiled as their talk then moved toward Broadway shows and old friends.

" You explain them amazingly Alexa and yeah I know the wizard of oz," Henry spoke before remembering the muggle girl whom he once knew and tried so hard to stay friends with until this year their letters stopped and Henry was disappointed as he spoke " her name was Gia and she was a year younger than us but so mischievous and fun to be around. She was one of the first people I met after I moved and she was such a good a friend," Henry smiled before turning to face Alexa and looked into her bright green eyed again.

Resting his head back on the dungeon wall as their conversation changed to training their pets and their competition which caused Henry to laugh a bit as he spoke " what if we teach the same tricks and a part of the competition could be who can teach their pet that trick faster?"

Alexa smiled back at Henry, quite happy that they would have something new in common, and something so important. “I can’t wait to get the badge! Thanks Henry,” she said, ducking her head, and blushing slightly, but keeping eye contact with those beautiful blue eyes.

When she mentioned Godric’s Hollow, she saw Henry turn inward momentarily, obviously thinking about something. She wasn’t sure if he was unhappy or not with his thoughts, so before he spoke she asked, “Is everything okay, Henry?” She said it so softly, that he could pretend to not hear it if he so desired.

When he mentioned making plans, she blushed again, but looked up and met his gaze. “I’d love to visit there with you,” she said seriously. Then she broke the contact and looked away, blushing again, and leaning her head against the dungeon wall. She crossed her arms in front for knees and brought them to her chest. She was starting to feel cold, and a little bit hungry for dinner.

“Thanks Henry!” Alexa grinned when he complemented her solos. “Is your sister a good singer as well? Did you enjoy singing for your dad and his guests?” She asked curiously.

Alexa smiled when Henry said she explained the musicals well. She laughed a little nervously. “Good, I wasn’t sure I was making sense! Wicked is based on the Wizard of Oz, but from the wicked witch and the good witch’s point of view. It is hilarious and awesome.”

When Henry referred to Gia, she noticed it was all in the past tense. She “was” such a good friend, he said. Hesitating slightly, but feeling as though she had to ask, Alexa said softly, “Did something happen between the two of you?”

Then he turned talking about pet tricks again as a competition, and Alexa laughed. “But haven’t you already been kind of training Loki? You’re way ahead of me!” she teased.

Keeping eye contact with her, Henry smiled and playfully ran a hand through his hair as he spoke " yeah, uh yeah me to Alexa," smiling and staring at her bright green eyes before the contact was broken.

Hearing her voice full of concern with his head pressed against the cold and rather damp wall of the dungeon, Henry turned his face so his cheek touched the wall but his eyes connected with hers as he spoke " I'm fine just thinking of past memories of that place nothing really," a moment later before he smile again and happiness filled his face as he looked in to her bright green eyes and replied " summer holiday then, deal. We can work out the details closer on then," a warmth filled him as he thought of going back, of visiting the place he once called home and still do with a rather close friend.

As the topic changed to singing and away from the summer, Henry leaned his head back against the wall and quite comfortable spoke "she's good I guess, we both had lessons so. Sometimes we enjoy them and others well not so much really," as silence grew Henry was lucky for the change of topic as he laughed a bit before speaking "maybe in a few years we can see a show together during one summer holiday?"

Then the topic changed to his old friend and good friend; Gia. Henry looked into her eyes and smiled a bit before speaking " we were pen pals for a year but then this year, I don't know the letter stopped and all but that's in the past so-" he was then at a lost for words as something entered his eyes something that never been there before but however faded away as he spoke " not that much ahead, I only taught Loki to come to his name and I have been working on stay but it hasn't been going that well."

As the time passed, Henry loved talking to Alexa but soon dinner was there so Henry got up and playfully held out his hand toward the red head as he spoke " do you want to walk to dinner with me?" After she would answer, Henry would start walking up to the great hall as he spoke " I enjoyed talking to you Alex and I like being your friend.
