Ami tugged on her hair, taking in everything Lilith was saying. There had been a wizarding war- or so she assumed; she didn't think Lilith was talking about World War Two, although obviously, she couldn't be sure. She kept quiet, though, trying to remember the notes she had taken when her mother had given her a crash-course in the wizarding world and its technicalities. Yes, now that she thought about it, she thought her mother had mentioned a famous guy, with a scar on his forehead, or something... Perry Otter? Perry Hotter? No, that wasn't it... she'd have to ask someone else. Oh, that's right, Harry Potter. Now she remembered.

Drat! Of course, Ami had zoned out again, so she tried to look like she was paying attention. "...I could torture you mentally and maybe even physically," Lilith was saying. Ami's eyes widened, and she raised her eyebrows. Woah. This girl was hardcore. "I'm not doing it though right now or any time soon because I'm on your side, for now, try to make sure I stay on your side though." Ami tucked that interesting tidbit into her mental reminders- Stay in Lilith's good books.

Ami rubbed her arms, subconsciously looking back at the hulking castle, her stomach growling. She was hungry, hungrier than usual; she'd only eaten fruits for the past week or so, not having access to the Kitchens. Just fruits meant not a lot of protein, or carbs, which meant Ami tended to get hungry really quickly. Trying not to seem bratty or needy, Ami turned back to the conversation, determined to hold out until dinner.

Lilith herd ami's stomach growl like a wild animal and grabbed her bag searching for food for the girl. after a few minutes she found a box of sandwiches she had packed that tasted awesome , she handed one to each of the girls "just remember that despite what I could do I'm not doing it because I want to earn your trust and I think right now the way to y'alls hearts is a butt load of food , does sandwiches sound ok ? I swear they are not poisonous !" Lilith sighed scratching at a few random spots on her arms wondering if they thought she was a good person or not , at this point there was a thin line that she was not sure if she wanted to cross. who was she going to be ? the school's next evil witch or defender and hero or maybe even a nobody? and what would these girls be? what did they want to be? heck the big question is why would they eventually become what they will become and why would Lilith become whoever Lilith would one day be? no one knows yet but it would be helpful to know ...

Lilith suddenly reached to grab food out of her bag (was her stomach really that loud?), and pulled out a box of sandwiches. "Just remember that despite what I could do I'm not doing it because I want to earn your trust and I think right now the way to y'alls hearts is a butt load of food, do sandwiches sound okay? I swear they are not poisonous!" Lilith said, smiling and handing out the sandwiches.

Poisonous? Golly, hopefully they weren't poisonous. Well, to Ami, they would be toxic even if they weren't poisonous- after years of being a vegan, she would become extremely sick if she tried to eat normal foods, unless she went on medication to fix it.

Ami opened and closed her mouth, and flashed Lilith an apologetic smile, reluctantly handing the sandwich back. "I- I'm really sorry, Lilith, but I can't eat it. I really appreciate the offer, though; that was really kind of you, you didn't have to. I'll just have to hold out until dinner. Thank you, though." Ami tugged at her sleeves, biting her lip, hoping she hadn't offended Lilith. Knowing Lilith could read her mind, Ami prayed that she'd understand her underlying intentions and dietary restrictions.

Lilith smiled and offered her a bag of fruits and vegetables "is that better ? I don't eat much meat either so I get it, eat whatever you want out of the bag some of those are pretty good at replacing other foods" she hopped that would be helpful to her , Lilith kept a lot of food in her school bag despite never eating any of it , she barely even ate at meal times where tables full of food surrounded her , she was never very good at being a healthy eater. Lilith would eat a bit then just fall asleep at the table surrounded by people she didn't know very well at all , she didn't really want to know her fellow gryffindors anyways. maybe she would fit in more with a different house or maybe living outside in the forest?

Lilith looked at the forest , she wasn't really in a good mood anymore and looked like she wanted to make a run for the woods . she almost forgot what she was doing until she dropped her bag on the ground . looking down at the bag she frowned and looked around her at the girls the woods and the water . what was a girl to do?

Nora accepted the sandwich kindly, providing a small nod to show her gratitude. The sandwiches, as Lilith had said, tasted amazing. She hadn’t had food in hours due to being outside for most of the day, and thankfully, Ami’s call of hunger had come just in time.

As she silently ate at the food, she pondered on what Lilith had said about staying on her “good side”. Nora knew what it meant to be dangerous when pushed, after all, she herself had already had some pretty traumatizing experiences herself. There was the time a few months before coming to Hogwarts that she had gotten so mad at her parents, she became violent and landed one of her brother into a muggle hospital. Everything that happened right after she snapped was a blur in her head, and no one in her family dared to explain to her what happened. After what she deemed “the incident of 18’”, Nora started looking even deeper into the web and books she could find around her house, trying to find out what she really was, or what may be affecting her.

Looking at Lilith’s face, Nora recognized a familiar look she knew all too well, a look of wanting and escape.
“Hey Lilith, it’s ok if you want to go. I know how it feels to want to get out into nature, away from people. If you want, we could all meet up later at some other time!”

“I never asked to be here...I never asked to be made.”

Ami's eyes lit up, taking the bag of fresh produce. "Lilith, I don't say this a lot, but you are a godsend, thank you so much." She opened it, popping an apple slice into her mouth. "God, this is delicious. Ohhhh, I haven't had a Pink Lady apple in forever. Thank you so much, Lilith." Her eyes widened as she dug through the bag, pulling out a persimmon. "I didn't know England had these sweet little babies! Well, America, too, I suppose, since they're usually grown in Japan. Wait, I've heard Texas grows them too. I'm not sure, though." Ami blushed, realizing she sounded like the total gardening nerd she was on the inside. "But anyways, I love these! Lilith, where do you even get all this stuff from?"

Ami nodded after Nora's words. "You can go, if you want- I think I speak for the both of us if I say we won't be offended if you do. Maybe we'll see you some other time- although hopefully sooner than Care of Magical Creatures, that's in the third year." Ami snorted. "Imagine we don't see each other until the third year- how stupidly big would this castle have to be in order for that to happen?"

the shadow of a faint smile fell over her face "I'm glad y'all like the food , i asked a kitchen elf for the food earlier and got a teacher to do a spell to keep it fresh until eaten , i stock up on food for certain nights each month . and don't worry i won't leave yet without taking y'all with me , heck id take you girls with we to go swimming if you could breath down there" she meant it she would take them everywhere if she could , she would introduce them to her siblings both here at Hogwarts and back at home , she would let them in her dorm room if she could but that would probably not work. she looked around mischievously to see if anyone was watching. "hey why not explore the forest, as long as we have my school bag with us we should be safe" she looked at the dark woods , the forbidden woods , the dangerous spooky as the dark lords nonexistent nose woods. she liked that last one it was funny to think bout , why did he have no freaking nose ? NO FREAKING NOSE...!

Nora’s soft smile turned into a devious grin, and a glint of adventure showed in her eyes. She knew a lot about the forbidden forest from the stories her brothers had told her, and now, she had the chance to go in prepared and with others. The excitement was a little too much, but Nora concealed it well, as she always did.
“I wouldn’t mind going in,” Nora replied in the most nonchalant tone she could manage,” my brothers taught me how to navigate inside it through the maps they have drawn of the place. I think I may have one with me...”

She looked into her little pocket that was woven into her clothes and pulled out the map. It was a medium sized parchment paper with expertly sketched drawings of the forest, different colors marking safe and unsafe areas for her to venture into in her first few years at Hogwarts. At the back of the paper, her brothers signatures were bold and clear, their somewhat perfect cursive showing off that the map was of their creation. Nora looked onto the map and the outskirts sketched in there as well and found the three girls’ location, the color changing ink showing her where she was in and around that area of the grounds. Nora stayed quite, and studied the map, making sure to take it all in.

Ami opened and closed her mouth in awe, staring at the map. "Woah. Nora, that's- that's amazing, it's got to be the most incredible thing I've seen. It's like the SnapChat map, but way better, and... and slightly creepier." She leaned in closer, amazed by all the intricate lines, changing and shifting even within the forest, as if the trees themselves were alive. How long had it taken Nora's brothers to finish all of it? It must have taken serious time and dedication- and, most likely, an enormous amount of rule-breaking.

Ami glanced at the forest, rubbing her wrists. They would (potentially) be going into the forest! The Forbidden Forest. It was forbidden for a reason, right? Was it dangerous? Confusing? Possibly a fatal consequence? While she was slightly nervous, she steeled herself against any fears that might come crashing over her. If she wanted to join the army, like her father had, she would need to be a lot braver than this. Besides, nothing could go wrong, right? It was just a hike in the woods.

"Just in case we get split up, if we are going in," Ami added. "We should have some kind of distress call to signal to one another that we need help. I would suggest using wands, but..." Ami shrugged, embarrassed. "I left mine back at the dorms."

Nora softly smiled at Ami’s amazement with the map; it reminded her of how she’s had reacted when she had first seen it as well. She hand to admit, then map was mesmerizing to see. “Don’t worry,” Nora replied,” I don’t stalk anyone with this...at least not yet!” She let out a small laugh and held up the map to the light, revealing some more names and hideouts her brothers had made in the forest. After a minute, she set it back down and carefully rolled it, gently placing it back in the little pocket it came from.

The young wizard nodded at Ami’s inquiry, wondering what they were going to do to find each other. As fast as the thought had came, she had an answer, and swiftly pulled out three whistles from her other pocket. Nora kept this type of stuff on her at all times, just in case an adventure struck at any moment. Placing all three in her hand, she displayed them to the two other girls,”We can use my whistles to contact each other, but for good measure we should probably stay close by. That is, if we’re actually going in.”
She smiled deviously at the two,” It may be better to go at dusk though, less student faculty to tell on us.”
