"Probably! I never have been all that great with the etymology of stuff..learning about it in class is more than enough for me!" Callie leaned back on the palms of her hands as she spoke, growing increasingly more comfortable talking to Miranda. That and she was still trying to suppress the urge to fidget which was unsuccessful judging by the repeated shifting of her feet in a specific rhythm. "Movies are just another word for motion pictures, don't worry! It's just a little long winded and stuffy to call them motion pictures..kinda reminds me of how those people in the old 1920s detective shows would speak!" Callie was genuinely trying her best to explain things properly but some things were best learned by experienced. How can someone appreciate the beauty of a good movie without seeing it for themselves? How can anyone not appreciate the brilliance of a good superhero movie without diving right in and seeing it for themselves! The pure excitement of going to the cinema to see a movie you'd been waiting for literal months to see was something that couldn't be explained..it had to be experienced! Regardless Callie was going to do her best to at least try and explain the glory of cinema to Miranda.

"He's wearing the weird costume because he's a superhero! This guy here is called Captain America, pretty funny name right? There's some even weirder superheroes..there's even one called Ant Man! This one here, Captain America he's like some kind of super soldier and stuff. Super interesting! " Callie pointed out the various aspects of the costume on the page and talked about them with surprising enthusiasm and detail. "Comic books are great because they're basically books with pictures! Sometimes reading pages upon pages of just...words can be so....boring, you know! There's even comic books for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which I just LOVE." While Callie spoke her wide grin of excitement never seemed to falter. "Sorry! Sorry I'm rambling on again..I should calm down a little! You did just kinda fall out a tree.."

"Really?" Miranda asked, her eyebrows raised in disbelief. "I think etymology is fascinating. And the possibility of creating new spells! Just think about that! I keep reading about all kinds of people who discover their own, and it sounds absolutely wonderful." She raised her hands animatedly at the last word, and almost wacked Callie in the nose. "Sorry," she said with an apologetic half-smile.

She quickly lowered her hands and tucked them under her legs. Hitting someone in the face didn't sound like a good idea during their first encounter. Even though she'd technically almost fallen on the other girl, it was still not a bad idea to keep her list of accidents at a bare minimum.

"Alright then, movies it is," Miranda decided, her earlier expression fading into a smile as she only barely held back a snort of amusement. Luckily, before she could do anything to possibly offend Callie, the other girl burst into an excited explanation of the various super heroes and whatnot one could find in comic books.

"That's a lot," Miranda finally said after Callie had finished. "And don't worry about rambling. Everyone's like that when they're excited about something. In this case, you're excited about picture books with neon-coloured heroes." She gestured at the ensemble the man on the book she was holding. Bright red, blue and white. Not exactly toning it down, were they? However, the idea was kind of interesting,and if Miranda had been any better at drawing, she might have possibly tried making her own. Unfortunately, she already had one project ahead of her, and that was perfecting the art of origami dragon army building. Already, she had a few ideas on where they could come in handy...

"Etymology? Facinating! Gah, I think it's such a bore-" Callie couldn't help but laugh when Miranda almost managed to whack her in the nose as it was something she was rather familiar with. She often got far too wrapped up in what she was doing or saying that she forgot about how close her surroundings were. The amount of times she'd managed to whack her brother in the face thanks to such a deficiency was astounding. "You're alright!" She reassured with a wide smile to ensue Miranda knew Callie wasn't all that hung up over it.

"Yep! Movies! Or Films. Either name works!" Callie confirmed with a wide smile after finishing her rambling. Thankfully her own embarrassment over the rambling was quickly shooed away by Miranda's reassurances. "Picture books? Pah! They're comic books!" Callie feigned offence but the wide grin and subsequent laugh brought a swift end to her theatrics. "Oh I get excited about so much...like Charms! Ooh or Herbology! I do love Charms though..I think I'm going to start reading ahead a little!" As she spoke Callie idly drummed her fingers against her knees in order to keep her hands occupied. "Oooh! And food...I love food...have you ever tried tablet? My mum makes the BEST tablet in the WORLD! Man, I can already taste the sugary goodness.." Callie quickly tailed off at the thought, as any sugar loving child would. Saying that Callie Jensen had a bit of a sweet tooth may be a bit of an understatement. "Gah! I'm getting distracted! I should probably head inside soon..there's still so much to do! Like dragon armies!"

"It seems like almost everyone tends to like Charms," Miranda agreed. "Mind you, I've never been the best at it, but some of the spells are quite interesting. It's much more entertaining than some of the other, non-practical classes we attend." She paused to let Callie speak, then raised an eyebrow with an expression of faint amusement. "I've heard of tablet, but never actually tried any. It sounds good, though. Maybe I'll buy some the next time my parents go shopping in London. They're bound to know where to find some." If they even bother telling me, she continued in her head with a slightly less positive attitude. Fortunately, her amused expression didn't falter. Now wasn't the time for a pity party.

"It is getting late..." Miranda agreed, albeit a tad reluctantly. She'd been enjoying herself while talking to Callie, even though their introduction had been...strange, for lack of a better word. Not that that had seemed to bother her, or maybe Callie was even more enthusiastic in different circumstances. If that were so...well, Miranda had a hard time believing that. "I had fun chatting. And, uh, thanks for explaining about the picture books and motion pictures." She purposely used the words Callie had cautioned her against, barely containing a grin.

"Don't even get me STARTED on Transfiguration..that class is so confusing! It's like someone decided to think of a way to make magic EVEN MORE COMPLICATED out of spite." Callie exclaimed with a mild huff of frustration. She didn't hide her dislike of Transfiguration as the class continued to completely and utterly confuse her at every turn. It was even more complicated than the time an old science teacher tried to explain a circuit to her, which was certainly saying something as that ordeal ended with Callie leaving class even more confused than before. However she was quickly pulled from her fustration surrounding Transfiguration when Miranda said she hadn't ever heard of tablet. This prompted a small gasp of genuine shock from Callie followed by her usual tirade of words.

"Never ever? Wow! You're missing out!" Callie pulled herself upwards as she spoke, rocking back and forth on her feet to keep herself occupied. "Why buy some when you can make it! There's like tonnes of recipes online..just don't burn it or it turns to caramel! How funky is that right? Ah, there I go again getting distracted!" Callie gave Miranda an apologetic smile for her general rambling as she knew it could be a lot to handle at the best of times. "I'm going to choose to IGNORE how you called them picture books and motion pictures for the sake of my own sanity." Callie announced with certainty, although her smile gave away the fact she wasn't all that torn up about it. "Catch you later, Miranda!" She gave the girl a bright smile coupled by a wave before scurrying off elsewhere in the pursuit of even more sugar. All that talk of tablet had made her hungry.

"Like Transfiguration," Miranda agreed with a laugh. "Although, you have to admit some of it can be fascinating - once you understand the general concept, that is. Otherwise, yes, it's pretty much a hopeless mess to figure out." She wrinkled her nose in amusement as the conversation brought back one of her brother's tirades after looking through her school books. He had spent a couple hours quizzing their house elf about it, no doubt confusing both him and the poor creature even further with his hard to follow questions and lengthily sentences.

"It's fine," she assured Callie when she apologized again for getting distracted from the topic at hand. "You're passionate about...tablet. And treats in general, I have no doubt." Miranda grinned, playing with the folds in the paper dragons she held idly.

Callie then took her leave and Miranda also bid her good-bye, watching the other Ravenclaw go with a small half-smile still on her face. The talk had certainly lifted her spirits, which, while not exactly low before, we're now much higher. She picked up the stack of torn pages, along with the discarded origami animals, and started back toward the castle, humming a song under her breath as she went.

There was a fire to attend to, after all. And an army to build.
