Oh Sweet Anticipation  Quidditch Match
Today was the day. The Quidditch match between Durmstrang and Hogwarts was happening in just a few short moments. Serena could hardly believe that she was one of the lucky few who would get to play at the London Stadium. The twelve-year-old remembered coming here with her family when she was younger. Back then, flying up there seemed like an improbable dream. Yet, it was happening.

Serena couldn’t let her team down, even though she felt inadequate compared to everyone else. She had really only played in one game so far. And it was an unofficial one, so to say that she was nervous was the understatement of the year. Taking a deep breath, Serena tried to think calming thoughts. Just do your best. Don’t throw away your shot. Yes this is a Hamilton reference You got this! She kept repeating these mantras to herself as she mounted her newly gifted Shooting Star.

Getting up into the air, Serena began her opening lap. She looked down at the stands at all of the cheering faces. Compared to the pitch at Hogwarts, this one was gigantic. Not every seat was full, but there were still several more people than at a typical school game. She scanned the crowd for anyone she knew, but everyone practically blended together from this height. Or maybe that was just the nerves.

Serena forced herself to look away, and she shifted her focus to the setting sun. The sky was beautiful, with all of the different colors. It had been a while since she had seen one from this height. She could already feel the sweat starting to drip down her forehead. At least it was much cooler than it had been earlier today. Sure, it was still warm, but not nearly as uncomfortable as this afternoon had been.

Thankfully, Serena’d had the forethought to wrap her long blonde hair into a tight ponytail. Not only was it a pain in the butt to deal with it flying in her face, but now it was off of her neck. She was also grateful that she had been keeping hydrated. Her dad would be proud of her for taking care of herself. Speaking of which, Serena wished that he and her mum could be here to see their daughter playing Quidditch. But they, unfortunately, were currently on a critical mission. And her aunt and uncle were presently under quarantine due to their Muggle neighbor getting sick. So, Serena would just have to settle for telling them all about it after everything was said and done.

Serena quickly finished up her lap and flew into position. The game was about to begin. She was excited to face Durmstrang and see if they were as good as the rumors had said.

May was troubled. Or was it nervous? She was shaking from top to bottom, her face more pale than ready. She looked at Saskia, Quinn, and all her teammates getting into position, as the game was about to start. Go Huffles, Goooo May thought, all along as she sat on the bench and half cheered half trembled for her team. She looked at the big Durmstrang players get into position. And now, she felt even more nervous. Thousands of people were looking at them, and yes, it was May's second match. She looked pleadingly at Annie, hoping she would take a seat with her. Or was she going to play?

It had been awhile since Hufflepuff's last game but they had done well the entire season. The brunette clutched her broom tightly against her side as they walked out onto the field. Her heart began beating quickly in her chest like always. It wasn't because of nerves though, it was because of excitement. They had a title to live up to and they would hopefully win but you never know.

She took a slow breath of air and let it out before glancing around to take in her surroundings. All of the sudden the roaring of the crowd flooded her ears. Unable to shut them out she shook her head and tried to slightly block them out. Annie glanced around and saw the Durmstrang team get into their position. Trying to calm her heart beat she took a few more breaths and flipped her leg over her broom to mount it and get ready to push off when the whistle blew signifying the start of the game.

The girl would not be intimidated today. Her head and heart were fully invested into the game whatever the outcome. "Let's go we got this!" The short Hufflepuff pumped her fist into the air to encourage her team. She somehow managed a smile on her face even though the nerves were starting to get to her. The Hogwarts students were cheering, no matter what house and all of the support made her happy. She turned her attention back to the chest where the quaffle, bludgers and snitch would be released shortly.

In the role of Chaser, as a free action if the user of this broom is successful in the quafflegrab they can as a free action pass the Quaffle to another user in an attempt to score. There is a chance of the quaffle being intercepted, however due to the fact that the user is "so fast" with the quaffle this would be considered "surprising" and the attempt to score would be done at +3 accuracy by the player it was passed to in an attempt to score.

Note: The attempt to score would be an automatic attempt by the user that catches the passed quaffle.

Words that Vyacheslav says that are in italics are in Russian.
Many of the students playing today in this international Quidditch game were nervous, which was a perfectly understandable reaction to an event that was so large and a monumental moment in these young people's lives. Slava just wasn't one sharing in those feelings. He was incredibly excited! It was a game after all, and he loved Quidditch. There had been a lot of build up to it in the past few days, and he had made more friends, had fun, and even developed a romantic interest for someone. She had equipped him with some special insults that he could use during the game if necessary, and he intended on using at least one of them for her sake. A soft smile appeared on his face when thinking of her, and he quickly refocused his attention in case anyone saw.

Right, the game. He couldn't wait to be up there, feeling the breeze and hitting those bludgers. The sound when his bat made a connection with one was always so satisfying. Thinking of Quidditch reminded him of how much he enjoyed it, even if he had only joined the team because of a dare from his brother at the beginning of the year. He glanced at his teammates. Too much chatter, more action! Impatiently, he started doing a little dance in order to attempt to get rid of some of the excess energy. He was in his own world, happily dancing, when he was interrupted. How rude!

He turned to face the person talking to him, only to see that it was his fellow Beater, Kolya. A mischievous grin took over his face at the other student's words. But he was saying that Slava would let them down with his overconfidence. Confidence was a virtue! It was helpful! His eyes widened and he clutched his chest in mock offense, pretending to be horrified. “Mikhailov! You wound me! How dare you say such a thing? I have no clue what you're talking about.” His lips twisted in a smirk. “But because I'm amazing, I'm going to ensure that we win. Are you confident enough to not drag us down?” Despite his teasing retorts, Slava didn't mean any harm. He liked and respected Kolya, even if Slava did think that he should loosen up a bit more. With a wink, he mounted his broom and flew into the air, taking his position.

Second Ability: Broken Broomshaft

Reducio
Effect: On a full hit with a bludger, if the user is knocked off their broom there is a 25% chance that the broom is shattered as well. If the broom is shattered, the opponent will not be able to use the broom for the duration of the Quidditch match (they do not lose their broom permanently, they would repair it off-screen later). If they are caught by an ally, they would have no broom to return to and would have to ride with an ally or remain on the ground for the duration of the game. There are some two-player moves where a player can share a broom but this is still a devastating loss for a team.

Mikael sat next to the rambunctious boy. He was glad that he and Yefim were benched together. It meant that the two could chat here and there while cheering on their team. Yefim was clearly excited about the game, and he himself could not help but enjoy the prospect of beating the Hogwarts Hufflepuff team. He hoped the win would be as easy as ripping candy away from a baby. The thought alone brought a chuckle from the brown-haired boy. Whether it was the thought of crushing the other team or the thought of snatching candy from a baby. Mikael himself didn't really know, but he didn't delve too deep to try and figure it out.

He glanced towards Yefim as the boy popped one of the gummy worms into his mouth. The treat seemed to quiet the boy for a couple of seconds before he would continue to cheer. "Don't choke." he reminded with an amusing tone. It would be fairly disastrous if the boy started choking in the middle of the game. The chances were fairly high, especially, when the boy would forget to swallow before he went to cheer loudly. Though he hoped the boy would keep his awareness up to avoid any complications.

Mikael didn't honestly enjoy the process of screaming and stomping one's feet like they were an animal. Though the excitement and pressure to keep up appearances were great enough to power him through. The boy stomped his feet loudly against the ground whenever he saw a teammate fly by. Mikael loudly cheered at a consistent rate trying to show his support for the team. He really hoped they could pull a win for Durmstrang. It would be an amazing end to the year for them to snatch the win from Hogwarts.

Oh Sweet Anticipation  Quidditch Match
Writing as Ella Forsberg

Within the locker room walls that shook from a restless crowd, a girl sat upon one of the benches, restless for a different reason. Contrasting the crowd’s anticipation with a sharp anxiety, fueled by the many thousands that awaited the arrival of Durmstrang’s team. Ella Forsberg was not a starter, but she did not have to be. She was mentally prepared to start, sourced from the wide speculation their prized starting seeker was to be targeted. The grandiose stage they were to play magnified concerns with each shake of the professional team banners placed along the walls. Then the muted words arrived, to gather their brooms and prepare for entrance.

At least she was not alone. Ella would cling to the passion from a close friend, Greta’s confidence was unwavering from the stage. Though the level of composure seen on the surface from many of Durmstrang teammates was merely a mask, with the exception of the most seasoned. As the team was instructed to enter the playing field, many students whizzed by Ella. The girl froze in place, her school uniform sent fluttering with each teammate’s pass. She gave each glove a gentle tug, tightening them over her palms, consciously attempting to steady her breaths as she let her fingers grasp the end of pine.

Ella shot off to take her belated entrance. The livid tinted eyes of Ella first found the mountainside on the horizon, the gleaming sun peering atop the highest ridges. After successive circles she scanned the many ecstatic fans. Only looking for one, her eyes glued to the section Nichlas planned to be. She could not find him, but his presence alone countered the nerves that arrived from roaring chants. Ella neared the bench to begin her pre-game ritual, denoted by sharp directional turns in every direction, intermittently reaching her hands out as if to simulate reaching for the snitch. What was normally a seamless exercise lacked fluidity, her hands trembled, and the turns were disjointed. The only positive sign was the collecting frustration. If anything, it could subdue the nerves.

Following her exercises, Ella found her place on the bench. Consciously trying to get out of her own way, and enjoy the moment. Win or lose, a day would come where she’d reflect on this experience, and smile.

Interacting with Hufflepuff Quidditch Team
Mentioning @Lydia Cooper and @Carolyn Hunt
Today was the day. Aaron Jones walked onto the pitch of the London Stadium for the first time in his life, but he hoped it would not be the last. This is where Quidditch professionals played, and being a professional was his dream. Sure, he had a new budding interest in space, but he knew this sport would always be his passion.

From the moment he had set foot in Quality Quidditch Supplies and been taught about flying brooms and the shop's namesake sport, he had been in love. He'd even researched teams and the history even though it wasn't required for school! That was a major thing for the kid whose first accidental magic was setting homework on fire because of how much he hated being assigned extra work.

Aaron checked to make sure the four-leaf clover his best friend Lydia had given him was safely pinned under his Co-Captain badge. A moment later, he mounted his new broom - a Comet 180 gifted to him by his parents (the same broom had been gifted to the Hufflepuff team by Durmstrang, but that one had been given to May). Wrapped around the base of the broom's bristles was a Korean-style good luck charm that had been given to him by his new friend Carolyn. The tassle and charm would blow nicely in the wind, giving him a bit of extra flair. He was very appreciative that he had friends nice enough to go out of their way in wishing him luck.

As he pushed off from the ground and soared into the air, Aaron felt like he was in his natural habitat: flying with his team. Aaron had not been part of the team when they won three consecutive games, landing them here as Hogwarts Champions, but he was incredibly appreciative of their efforts. No way would he disrespect that legacy by giving anything less than 110% in this match. A lot of people in the stands that would be cheering for him and his teammates. Of course he was a little nervous, but the excitement was what overwhelmed him in this moment.

"Let's go, team!" he shouted, fist pumping as he flew around his team and got into position. He finally set eyes on the competition - the Durmstrang team. From their entrance, he knew they were incredibly disciplined and would not be easy to beat. But the thought of a tough game ahead just made his heart beat faster in anticipation. This match would be burned into his memory for life, and he was excited.

Aaron Jones was going to win his first official match, no matter what.

Oh Sweet Anticipation  Quidditch Match
[font=PT Serif]At first it was the thunderous roar, the crowd, and the absolute noise that everything else delivered. It was by in large, attention that he didn’t anticipate. To even make it here was a privilege, but to play was overwhelming by many standards. How many hours did he spend hours before the game to tell himself to just relax? It was next to near impossible to properly say that he was calm, his nerves were firing off like the sparks off of flint and steel. His green eyes were clouded by some form of exhaustion, it wasn’t a surprise that Reid actually got a lack of sleep before this game.

His uncle was in the crowd somewhere, he was told on his owl that he would be coming to see. That made him think of if he has to play, possibly when he has to play, would he be able to impress him? He was just second string, although he played like he was a primary in their practice. Would that be enough for now? Then he saw everyone mounting their brooms and did the same. Breathe, breathe, breathe. The student squinted against the blinding lights that came through the flaps before his newly acquired broom pushed him forward.

The first thing that caught him was the height, the absolute sheer fall that they’d encounter if they were knocked off their broom. Reid didn’t want to see any of his teammates subjected to that, but he was certain that it would be unavoidable. As the wind whipped through his air, his green eyes gazed at the sea of yellow and the sea of Durmstrang’s colors. Why was he so worried? He spent hours dreaming of playing football for the World Cup, now he was in the London Quidditch Stadium, where the Quidditch World Cup was played.

Slowly, the hardened lines on his features relaxed in composure and a shout thundered from the second string beater’s chest. “No holding back!” However this match was going to go, he wasn’t going to go down without a fight. His team were capable, clearly, they went on through the official Hogwarts Quidditch season without a single loss. But he hoped he wouldn’t have to play in the first place, that meant either Saskia or Quinn went down, that would be painful to watch itself.

The beater eventually made his rounds with the team and before benching himself, he gently patted Serena’s shoulder on the way there. “Give ‘em hell, you got this.” He knew how much of a target Seekers were and Serena has been his friend since day one of his days at Hogwarts, he didn’t like to see her getting hurt. The beater stopped to slightly address the rest of the team on his way down, “Be safe, cheering for you lot.” Reid then landed near their benches and took a deep breath, adjusting his bracers as he came to sit beside Rosie and the others.

“Hell, I’m shaking. Dunno if it’s from excitement or nerves.” He warmly chuckled and leaned on his knee as he watched. Mjolnir was on his lap, a bat he etched the name into out of homage to his favorite hero and just person in mythology in general.

Quidditch was an escape. It was something Elias held extremely dear to him, and to hear the cheers echoing throughout the stadium filled him with so much excitement he could barely contain it. Even better– he was benched with one of his closest friends, Sasha. And nothing was better than making fun of people with him. After all, he was basically where Elias got his humor from.

While Sasha was mostly a pretty upbeat person, he most definitely wasn't all about being benched. Elias didn't love the idea either, but his friend had a harder time wrapping his head around it. Especially with him wanting to be a professional quidditch player. That had to hurt. Sasha was one of the best beaters he'd seen, so it was surprising that he was even benched in the first place. Whenever he got on the field, it was insane the way he was able to maneuver his broom and make the crowd almost fall off their seats.

Might be because he's somewhat of an attention whore, but he was damn good on a broom!

Elias locked eyes with his friend, who subtly muttered that it should've been them up there. He nodded to his friend in response, opening his mouth to speak.

"When the other players inevitably get knocked on their asses, we'll get up there," He reassured his friend, shifting around on the hard bench.
