Green Envy for the Red
"Actually, you know what, maybe we should, er, skip the games," he said. "Let's talk about her," he jabbed a finger in the direction of Ruby. Facing her would probably turn him into stone. Though she was a lion (and, really, much too proud of the fact) her hair was made of snakes and her gaze was deadly, not unlike another European monster.
The girl reminded him of one of his other enemies, the first he'd made. The two of them were nearly the same: much too sensitive, annoying, cry so much they could fill the Mariana Trench and then some. There was only one glaring difference, however: Leonard actually felt bad about him. Ruby was more of something he didn’t care for, not unlike a below subpar ice cream flavour. It tasted wrong, and therefore belonged in the trash.
“She is...well, not great. Now, I’ve barely any friends myself, so I’m probably not one to judge,” he said, taking a seat next to her. “But she’s the least nice person I’ve met. And I’ve met myself. I mean, not wanting to have her friend have any other friends? Look, I think you should talk to her. Sort things out, punch her in the head, whichever works best. Also, don't get up to thinking I've got a conscience or anything like it. I just don't actually have any cards that won't explode."
"Alright then, I'm off," he said, patting her on the head for whatever reason. "You two go and try not to start a fight. Not physical, at least. The Hospital Wing's swamped, from what I hear."
Leonard left the room as quickly as he entered. While it may not have been the Gryffindor common room, it most certainly felt like a lion's den.
