Its Gobstones, Not Pull Ups
@Adam Harringtom and @Amadea Campbell.
No. Freaking. Way.
Ami's mouth dropped open in pure shock as she realized that her stupid, flea-brained trickshot had actually knocked one of Adam's gobstones out of the ring. Frankly, she was too stunned to even gloat, which was not a good thing. You could practically see her grow three inches from that ego boost, alone. Opening and closing her mouth like a starving goldfish, she glanced at Adam and Amadea with wide eyes.
"Did I really just-" she managed to stutter out in shock, before staring back at the circle. "Maybe I should start a soccer club," she said in wonder, staring at her own foot.
Pouting in response to Adam's off-handed statement, her expression immediately twisted into a smirk. "No, you don't," she said confidently, "Because I'm a delight." She watched carefully as Adam paced the circle, wondering just what the blond boy was thinking. And could she hear his thoughts, she'd simply have to agree. Frankly, Ami always got nervous when she started winning things, despite her over-competitive nature. It was as if she was constantly waiting for the other foot to drop, for something terrible to happen. After all, good things never happened to her.
Sighing slightly, she placed her next gobstone on her head as she contemplated her next move. Of course, it was hard to balance, and it nearly fell into the circle on its own (which would not have been good). Luckily, Ami caught it, but immediately threw it into the circle without much conviction. She'd thought long and hard about this move, but in the end, had ended up with nothing. Like many of her other trains of thought, this one's path seemed to take a dive off the deep end into nothingness.
"YOLO, right?" she said casually, with a shrug.

Its Gobstones, Not Pull Ups
── ❋ ──𝓐madea sensed that the gobstone game was slowly spiraling down into chaos. Ami was no longer following the designated rules of the game and was inventing her own type of throws that miraculously seemed to be doing better for her than using the normal, conventional rolls. But of course, that was exactly something Ami would do. Normal and conventional were two words that Amadea would never, ever use to describe the other Hufflepuff and she figured that as long as her rolls weren't hurting anyone, she wasn't going to do anything to stop it. "Right, I forgot you American people call football soccer," Amadea scoffed. "Makes no sense. The sport you call football isn't even played with the feet!" She shook her head. Americans were so weird.
For now, Adam seemed to be done with the banter, only muttering 'I hate you' to Ami before planning out a strategy for the next round. Perhaps by approaching the round with a steady head and not distracting himself with the banter, he would nail the gobstone. Unfortunately, this didn't seem to be the case. While Adam certainly took his time planning out a good strategy and threw the gobstone with sufficient strength, wherever he was aiming toward was off and his gobstone rolled right by Ami's and out of the other side of the ring. "Better luck next time," she said to Adam.
Now it was Ami's turn and Amadea was both scared and intrigued to see what was going to happen next. Knowing her friend, Ami wasn't going to stop after her spectacle from the last round. If anything, the success of her throw was only going to make her more cocky. Amadea was about to open her mouth and warn Ami not to get too many ideas but she was too late, as the Hufflepuff was already placing the gobstone on her...head of all places and aimed it toward the board. Almost immediately, the gobstone began sliding off of Ami's head and Amadea opened her mouth to intervene yet again, but Ami had caught the gobstone in her head with her fast reflexes and then without thinking, tossed it toward the circle. Well, at least she had actually used her hands for this one, Amadea noted. And yet again, to Amadea's surprise, Ami's gobstone smacked Adam's with a solid clunk, knocking it out of the ring. This left Ami now two points ahead of Adam.
"I-" Amadea stuttered. "Wow. I was not expecting that. Well, Ami you're up first for the next round...and you're also currently two points ahead." While it was never too late to make a comeback, Ami had a pretty secure lead at the moment. If she could successfully pull off another crazy throw during the next round, she was even one step closer to victory...and a lot of butterbeer.── ❋ ──

Ami glanced at Amadea, then back at Adam, in complete and total shock. "Am I hallucinating?" she wondered aloud, staring at Adam almost apologetically. "I mean... I'm athletic, but not that athletic... right?" What on earth was going on today? Maybe there was a full moon or something, because Ami really couldn't imagine the last time she'd been genuinely good at something, here at Hogwarts. At least, not naturally; Transfiguration was something that she had to work her ass off for. Was her true calling to be a professional Gobstones player?
No. Definitely not.
Hefting a new stone in her hand once more, Ami paced around the circle as her eyes narrowed at another potential target (not Adam, unfortunately). Her gaze flickering upward towards the Ravenclaw in question for a brief moment, she commented casually, "I hope you're ready to pay up for my drink, man," before launching the Gobstone into the circle with a considerable amount of force behind it. But hopefully, it would hit her intended target, and it would ricochet out of the circle.
... she really should've strategized more, right? Thinking back on it, Ami couldn't help but feel that right now, she simply needed to focus on actually hitting one of Adam's gobstones, rather than her own. She figured that gravity, magic, unicorns, and the other 4 Newton's Laws would take of the whole knocking-it-out-of-the-circle business for her... right?

Its Gobstones, Not Pull Ups
@Ami Procoppio || @Amadea Campbell
Before this moment, Adam had never been clear about the whole "God" thing. All of the theories seemed equally credible and ridiculous at the same time. Was there a giant man in the sky, an entire populace of higher beings, or nothing at all? Was he — were they — whatever — playing with Adam's world like it was a chessboard, or barely batting a divine eye at it? Humanity seemed essentially split on the matter; the blond boy had been just as torn. Now, however, as he watched Ami's Gobstone slide from her red-haired head into her waiting hand, as he watched her throw it into the ring in one fluid motion, as it collided with one of Adam's Gobstones with a spectacular crack (it might as well have been a gunshot, given what it meant for Adam's chances at victory), any and all doubt was cast aside. There was something up there watching over Hogwarts. And it absolutely despised Adam.
The two girls stammered through their own reactions, voicing the words that were stuck in Adam's throat. He reached up slowly and pressed a palm to his forehead, massaging his aching temples. The boy's heart and his brain were moving at warp speed. Gentle condolences from the mind were battered down by an intrinsic, adrenaline-fueled command to win win win from the heart. Adam needed a legendary comeback to compete with Ami's trick-shot advantage; the problem was how to make one. He'd tried every variant of the Gobstone throw that he could think of — well, within reason.
While Adam had been in reverie, Ami and Amadea had gotten over their initial shock. He shook himself out of a stupor as Ami picked up another stone. The Hufflepuff girl barely gave him a second's glance before she made her next move, forsaking the daredevil glamour of the last two rounds for something decent. Adam scooped up one of his final Gobstones and stepped up to Ami's side. He flicked his wrist and sent the projectile racing after its opponent.
"I'm not paying for anything," Adam snapped, staring straight ahead at the ring. He'd meant the retort to be much more lighthearted, but all of his energy was in playing the game; there was nothing left to sustain a friendly facade. That was the thing about wagers: no matter how innocent they seemed, they always ended up creating sore losers and arrogant winners. In a week or two, Adam would probably have to apologize for how he'd acted during the match.
For now though, everything was fair game. This was war.

Its Gobstones, Not Pull Ups
── ❋ ──@Ami Procoppio | @Adam Harringtom𝓕rom what Amadea could tell, Ami's shots were only starting to become more and more absurd. How she was not missing was a mystery to Amadea; perahps the gods had fated she win this round. Adam was not giving up, though. Both contestants were staring at the board, determined to win. After all, there were butterbeers on the line. No one was about to give up. Ami threw her gobstone first, staring at the board so fiercely Amadea was surprised that it didn't combust on the spot. Unfortunately, her gobstone whizzed by Adam's without leaving any trace it was even there to begin with. Adam was up next: his gobstone was luckier, finding it's mark and knocking one of Ami's out of the ring. This left him one point behind now.
And the game continued. Amadea watched as the two competitors gazed at the board, trying to determine the best strategy for winning this game. Adam was up first this time, tossing his gobstone with fervor. Again, it hit Ami's, leaving the two tied. Perhaps Ami had been too cocky in the beginning, but her lucky streak was starting to wear off as she tossed her own gobstone toward the ring. Unfortunately, she only managed to hit one of her own gobstones, knocking it out of the ring. This had never happened in a game before and Amadea was honestly unsure of how to proceed. "Um," she said hesitantly. "I think that counts. Sorry Ami, you've only got one gobstone left now." She purposely avoided looking at the other Hufflepuff because she knew Ami was probably giving her the stank eye right about now.
The match was coming to a close (thankfully). It felt like this game had lasted forever, between the amount of banter and failed throws. Ami was up first this round and as she threw her gobstone Amadea could tell that it would hit Adam's. Unfortunately, it wouldn't mean much if Adam was able to make his shot. As the Ravenclaw prepared for the shot, Amadea held her breath. This was it. If Adam hit Ami's gobstone, he would officially be the winner. He sent the gobstone flying. Time seemed to move in slow motion as Amadea watched the trajectory of the small stone. She let out her breath as the gobstone hit Ami's, leaving her with no gobstones left in the ring.
"And with that, the game is over!" Amadea announced. "Congratulations on finishing your first gobstones match of the season! And Adam, congratulations on your win. Looks like Ami owes us all butterbeers now," she added with a smile. As much as Amadea took her moderating job seriously, she had to admit that the free butterbeer had been in the back of her mind during the entire match.Reduciowe previously decided that Adam had to win this match in order for another RP to make sense so out of laziness, I've decided to forego the rolls and just declare Adam the winner.── ❋ ──
