Katrina noticed Margo's wave and waved back. She picked up on the fact that Margo seemed uncomfortable. Katrina knew why, but she had been trying to put the past behind her and start new. It was simply easier that way.

As people began to chime in on what each chemical was, Katrina nodded. She recognized most of the names. It was kind of cool to see other students that seemed about as excited about the foam as she was. Magic had a mentality of 'Go big or go home' that always intrigued the young lioness.

Piérre's excitement was sparking Katrina's. A Doxie Hydra. "I would think something that would not be safe. Maybe like a flying water dragon?" At the thought of that, Katrina couldn't help but snort. Margo chimed in and Katrina laughed, her mind instantly imagining a ball of random magical creature limbs and wings.

Katrina understood enough science, but it had been a while since she had really thought about it. So when they dived headfirst into a bunch of really big words, it took Katrina a second to piece it all together. When she did, however, a spark lit in her eyes. She understood quite vividly what was going to happen or at least what was going to happen in each molecule. Learning the science behind something was always something that Katrina was drawn to. It was a unique feeling, learning why something was happening and how to replicate it.

"Wait, isn't it like putting space between the molecules? Like when the bubbles poof up? Or is it a chemical reaction because of the heat of your skin? I'm just kind of confused why the soap would get so big unless something activated it. " Katrina puzzled a moment, At that moment, Katrina had overthought the experiment so much that she was extremely confused. Certainly, it wasn't that complicated, right? "Because, the soap only expands when you rub it. Like if you just let the soap sit there, its not going to puff up, right? Or is it something in the water? OH! OH! That's why we use the chemical right? Because it breaks the bond and makes it super big!" As she figured some of it out, Katrina bounced on her heels, immensely pleased with herself.

Katrina was silent for a few moments, trying to figure out what was happening in her mind. She had seen the projects before, but didn't know why all the stuff had happened. Now that she was understanding it, it was getting a whole lot more fascinating. She had only five years of science learning. The rest of the stuff she had read from books or picked up from experiences. Since Hogwarts didn't teach much science beside Astronomy, it sometimes felt like Katrina didn't have enough knowledge to fully comprehend everything. But the feeling of empowerment that came with figuring it out was enough to remind Katrina why se enjoyed science.

Piérre mentioned the nice day and Katrina couldn't help but look at the sky. It really was. The clouds were bright and puffy, like something you'd see in a painting. The sky was gradients of blue and cerulean, a gorgeous mixture of heaven on earth. "Yeah, it really is," Katrina said softly, simply enjoying being in the moment and appreciating the fact that she was there and that she was learning things and really enjoying it. There was something in Piérre's words that caught Katrina's attention, a kind of awe and a side of him that she hadn't really met.

Katrina was snapped back to the present with Margo's explanation. Thankfully it seemed like she wasn't the only one that was puzzled a bit, still. Katrina tilted her head to the side, looking closely at the Professor's model. It was quite interesting, really.

"Wait, so when we put the soap in with the chemicals, it activates the soap and makes it bubbly, then the potassium iodine makes it like stiff and the bubbles not as big?" Katrina said slowly, unsure if she understood anything that was going on. At first she thought she got it. But now, she wasn't so sure.
