It was so much better.
Now, whenever Ozzy stepped on his feet, it was soft and yielding. There was no looming threat of incredible pain anymore. Just him, and Ozzy. And a lot of other people, but who cared about them?
And death metal. Death metal was there. But that didn't matter either. This was a golden moment, absolutely perfect-

And then it got better.
Out of nowhere, Ozzy rested his head onto Dan's shoulder. There he was. Right on him. Dan could feel his breath. He could feel his heartbeat.
His own heart was hammering. It was all he could do not to freeze up. Granted, now the consequences of freezing up were almost null, since Ozzy was nearly barefoot like he was. But he managed not to, out of the desire to continue dancing with him.
DAMMIT if only the music fit, it would have been completely perfect. But, this moment was all he needed out of the night. Music or not.

He wanted it. So BADLY. He KNEW it needed to happen... But how to? If he came right out and asked or said it, it might weird Ozzy out and ruin everything.
Then, it hit him. Something he'd seen in countless stories.
His smile warming, Dan looked into Ozzy's eyes, and leaned closer EVER. So slightly. Wordlessly asking Ozzy, if he wished to kiss.

Interacting with @Aurelia Notrésvace & @Kaegen Deathmote, as well as other partygoers who hear Piérre’s outburst. Mentions @Nico Shymane & @Alaric Equinox. Sorry for the long post, poop is about to hit the fan.

Piérre tipped his head, listening with curious interest at the dark boy’s words. He spoke in Shakespearean words, of dogs and men, the savagery that connected them. He spoke of darkness. Darkness that Piérre had never personally experienced, and yet, seemed to know better that he would have liked. The boy was not here for fun. He was here for something else. Something that Piérre did not understand, but was intrigued to know anyways.

With a movement unbefitting of the boy, he snatched Piérre’s tie, pulling him down to the level of the boy’s face. Pièrre could see the fiery red ring of the Dhampire’s eye, and the pupil which seemed to constantly dilate, filled with endless darkness. A depth of both madness and yet, in its core, slight terror. From the little Piérre knew about the boy, combined with the unintentional natures of his race, Piérre couldn’t help but continue to look into his eyes, his breath catching as the boy hissed a singular word, almost too quiet for anyone else to hear.
”Help”
Piérre stared in shock, the word help racing through his mind. It was second nature. The second the word was spoken, Piérre’s mind went into overdrive, assessing the situation, noting people around him, the movements of the party, the likelihood of people wandering to clumps and dispersing. He was no Seer, and he had no way of knowing for certain of anything, but despite his young age, he was insightful, and desperately good at avoiding confrontations. In those rare instances he was confronted, he knew how to escape.

This was going to be one of those moments.

Smiling behind the mask, a clever lift, Piérre gave a tiny nod, his words quiet and convinced. No matter who this boy was, no matter why he was being sought out, there was no ready to deny a request of help, especially since Piérre had requested such things of others and had been rejected in the past, left to the clutches of the enemy and bullies who despised his chipper moods. ”I will.”

The girl who had chased the boy drew close, leaning down to the two individuals’ levels. Even though it was hard to see, against her fair complexion, white clothes, and long blonde hair, it was evident because of proximity. The familiar red tint of blood. Piérre was more than familiar with spotting it. Eyes widening, Piérre stifled a gasp.
“I could say the same for you, Deathmote, but you can’t escape what you are. I’m sure you are very hungry, Monster,”
Blood. A Dhampire’s worst trait and weakness. It activated the primal instincts in them, throwing instincts to the wind.

He was nose to nose with a Dhampire. A Dhampire Named Deathmote. Piérre was sure he didn’t want to find out the implications of the name. Not yet at least.

The synapses in his mind finally activated, and the plan became clear. It was going to require exact timing and wit. Something he happened to possess in bulk.

There is, in the heart of every person, a piece of evil resides. Perhaps evil is too dark a word for it. Resentment is more accurate. The resentment varies from individual to individual, and sometimes it assists its user in survival or confrontation. Sometimes, it poisons the individual form the inside out, corrupting them and changing them into a ruthless, heartless being. In Piérre, it was comparable to a slumber. A very deep slumber, which can not be woken from easily. Truth be told, sometimes he didn’t know it was there. It was hard to search for it, and in honesty, there was no reason to search for it.

Now that same spark suddenly caught fire, blazing in Piérre’s chest and sending ripples of heat throughout his body as his pulse quickened. This was wrong. This was wrong on so many levels. The resentment of the girl, no matter how beautiful, charming, or powerful she was, was far too great to be ignored. Help was asked of him.

He intended to provide.

Fists shaking for a brief moment, Piérre slipped out of the boy’s grasp, stepping in front of him without touching even a shred of the Dhampire’s cloak. Physical touch could be seen as an act of offense. He was face to face with the lovely girl, but he saw no beauty in her eyes. While he could be distracted by her looks, what he saw in those dark pupils was ice. He saw no warmth, no compassion. She was here to abuse the boy Piérre now stood in front of, defending with his small, wiry frame. He had no spells to use, and he was powerless if engaged in a duel, but unknown to everyone, he had one more trick up his suit sleeve.

He had words.

Words sharpened to a point and then envenomated. Selected from the best and then sharpened to a razor’s blade, intended to slice and slash without a hesitation or fear.

”Who. Do. You. Think. You. ARE?! Piérre’s words started quiet, but slowly crescendoed, until with a resonating stomp of his dress some against the floor. His shout echoed across the room, perhaps causing others to stop in their activities and stare. Piérre flared at the girl, who was so much taller and stronger than him. Their heights, however, were equal in Piérre’s blazing eyes. She may be strong, tall, and powerful, but he was small, lithe, and sharp. She stood no chance against his most dangerous weapon; his mouth.

”How DARE you act this way? Are we not all with human minds? Minds that can feel and comprehend? You speak of him like he is nothing but an animal! You speak as if he cannot and does not comprehend every word you break him down with, even though you know he understands! You chase him! You demand that he stands and fights!” Words were flowing faster than a current as his native accent, undaunted by control, took hold, Piérre’s green eyes still flicking about the are, searching for a way he and Deathmote could make their exit by. ”That is not the actions of a peace seeker or a person who desires restitution, they are the actions of a hunter. A beast, stalking its prey with intent to maim and kill! He is not the monster, o human one, YOU are.” Piérre pointed accusingly up at her, his finger shaking between her eyes. His wand was still at his hip, and his left hand was at his side. Even though he could cast no spells, that did not mean he could not bluff if called upon.

”And if it truly is the concept of race you have difficulty understanding, if you feel I am defending him because I too, am a monster in your eyes, you must rethink again. I am human. I am fully human, but the difference between me and you, a human monster, is that I have compassion even for those who perhaps do not deserve it. I forgive. You have no forgiveness.” Piérre ended his words with a quiet hiss. ”Fair of face, fair of poise, but foul of heart and mind. Behind those temptress eyes, there is nothing. You are empty, no matter how much you dress yourself to hide the void within your heart.”

There was a pause, and Piérre heard himself breathing quiet, hollow breaths. He had never spoken out like that before, and truth be told, it surprised even him. It most certainly would leave more than one person around him shellshocked at the first year’s intrepidness. He had just insulted a third year. A THIRD year. Not even a second, but a THIRD.

This was the day he was going to die.

Oh well, may as well go out with a bang.

Without another pause, Piérre shoved the girl away from him and Deathmote, trying to get her and her pricked finger, the source of the problem away from the Dhampire. While she was composing herself, Piérre backed away, encouraging Deathmote to do the same. As he did so, he began to whisper quickly to the half-vampire.

”This is going to be quick and sweet. Follow my lead, but don’t hesitate to branch on your own if things go sour.”

By this point, another pale girl @Nico Shymane had approached the third year he had just insulted, pulling her aside and confronting her openly.

Piérre took the golden opportunity, snatching a cup which smelled oddly of a kiddie cocktail which Piérre knew to taste of Italian wine from a nearby partygoer and thrusting it at the third year to cause a distraction, splashing her with its contents if he hit. If he missed, it would land at her feet, splashing over her open shoes and wetting her feet.

Piérre glanced over at Deathmote and how he was reacting, and in a swift movement, Piérre loosened his masque, flashing his full face to Deathmote. His eyes were glittering with determination and sheer conviction, and his mouth was set in a hard line as he conveyed his thoughts to the Dhampire with a stare and a single word.

”Exeunt.”

With that, the masque went on again, hiding his identity, as he flipped out his white yew wand in bluff.

A dark aura settled over the group as an owl masque ventured close. This time a true shudder went though Piérre. This was a full grown Dhampire. An adult.

Mister Alec.

The words he spoke were just as low and velvety as ever, speaking of detention and to break it up, but there was a hint of bite in his tone, as if he were attracted to the cut on the third year’s finger.

Piérre barely looked at Deathmote, and then turned his attention to the chandelier hanging over the ballroom. It was a way up, and if a spell was cast, the children would notice and be able to get out of the room. It would also be a perfect distraction in order to run away.

”Can you cast Diffindo yet?” He whispered, his young voice lost in the conclusion across from them. After hearing or acknowledging a response, Piérre would nod and barely point at the chandelier, just enough so Deathmote would see it, but nobody would question anything. ”Hit the chandelier. If the chain is cut, it’ll fall. You can get out of here. I’ll come with.”

Every muscle in his body was tensed and ready to act. He was used to this thrill of adrenaline. It came every time he was cornered. This was a corner, and Piérre was going to fight tooth and nail to get himself and the Dhampire out of here unscathed, to hell with those who fought them.

Dan's heart was beating pretty loud - hopefully a good sign..... a sign? Was this the moment? Did the universe tell Oswald to kiss him? He looked up and noticed that Dan would smile warmly. Yes , that was indeed the perfect moment. Everything came together .... except the music of course. Dan leaned his head closer and closer - literally begging to do so. That was definitly the sign!

He was beginning to shake slightly. How did he even...kiss correctly? He knew his parents did but he always looked away when they did so. It was.....simply eeew when they did it. But Oswald stopped his train of thoughts. This time , he will not overthink the situation and his options , just this one moment.

He looked deeply into Dan's eyes that would twinkle even more now , probably from his excitement. His face was as red as his own. Both of their hearts were beating faster - it felt like they were competing with each other. Oswald was sure that he could even hear both of them , their beats drumming loudly in his ears.

He leaned forward , closed his eyes and - an unknown sensation filled his whole body. An explosion of emotions and warmth , he did not know how to describe it. When they stopped kissing he simply looked into Dan's eyes and smiled dreamy , his cheeks glowing as red as autumn leaves.

Her plan, what she thought was a flawless one had gone down hill on almost an instant after she made the slit on her palm. Whatever Kaegen muttered into the shorter boy’s ear, it must have certainly worked as the jester boy began to defend Kaegen with impressively opinionated sentences. Although Aurelia admired his courage, a frown still formed on her face especially when he implied that she was a racist. This small boy had no clue what she had gone through and what a savage Kaegen was yet he antagonised her.

Moreover, he abruptly shoved her away, causing her to let a small gasp. Without the heels, Aurelia wouldn’t have stumbled but unfortunately she did. Using the edge of a table to support herself, Aurelia regained her balance only for the boy to toss a cup of punch in her direction. Taking a side step just in time, the punch splattered near her feet.

Then she felt someone grasp her hand, the one which had been severed.
It's been awhile, Aurelia. Mind explaining me what is going on...?'
The girl who had taken her hand in a rather sturdy grasp was one she didn’t recognise. Although for some spectacular reason, the red-head identified her and referred her to by her name despite the mask obscuring more than half her face. Although the girl’s features rang a bell, Aurelia could not pin-point who the girl was. “Do I know you?” Aurelia could not help but ask.

It wasn’t until a professor approached them and addressed the girl as ‘Shymane’ did Aurelia finally recalled who she was. It was Nico, her former colleague. When the man stepped closer, the feeling that Aurelia identified as a dhamphir’s Aura grew tenfold and Aurelia never felt so terrified. It sure as hell was not be the ambience of the young dhamphir. It was Professor Equinox. Yes, Aurelia heard the rumours of the Dhamphir Professor. He stood in front of her, bearing his fangs as he spoke. Aurelia didn’t like it one bit that he was using his Dhamphir abilities to his own advantage, to instil terror and intimidate her. A scowl formed on her face as she glared back at him. As a human, there was not wat she could overcome that uncomfortable feeling in the pit of her stomach that screamed at her to flee. The astronomy professor could have asserted his authority effectively over her without the use of his aura like any other professor would, but yet he had to. Not to even mention his fangs.

Her plan had obviously failed. Aurelia was about to do as she was told, to leave when she overheard the small boy whisper a few words to Kaegen. “Of course he knows diffindo, it’s the spell he almost killed me
with.
” She interrupted, a her lips pressed in annoyance before adding, “Did I plan on what I wanted to do because of of his race or because of what he has done or perhaps even what harm he might do in the future? And now you’re encouraging him to take a chandelier down.

““I admire you but not so much of your naivety,” She put in. As a small act of dominance, she reached out with her unhurt hand and gave the shorter boy’s hair a ruffle. She then produced her wand, that was strapped on to her leg and hidden under her dress the entire time. Waving it, she muttered, “Reparifors,” and the cut on her palm healed in an instant. After she was done, she made her way towards the exit.
Unless stopped, Aurelia would leave.

There was a lot of commotion going on but Dymphna ignored it. It was being taken care of, besides she wasn't a Prefect. The music made it harder to hear what exactly it was about but it would likely be in the newspaper anyway. That or she would ask Alexx about it later. It didn't hurt to be curious. It could hurt to get involved. She looked silly with her wand tucked behind her ear but it didn't hurt to be on the safe side. Her cousin was there too, something she kept in mind since the last time she felt compelled to use magic outside of her studies. She continued towards the food table where her friends were waiting.

"Having a good time?" If only they would play something else. Celestina Warbeck was preferable but anything other than this nonsense noise. What kind of formal ball played music that you could headbang to? "You both look nice tonight. I love your hair like that, Phae." The nickname slipped out, something she usually didn't do was call others by a nickname, despite preferring to go by Dymph herself. In her eyes, she and Phaedra had grown closer since the disaster in the library. She thought of her as a friend these days and now Max was a new addition. Both Keepers in their respective houses, she was sure they would see more of one another in the future.

"Macarons!" With a colorful assortment of them stacked on a small plate, she surveyed the room. Most were mingling with one another, some somehow dancing or even... kissing?! Dymphna made a face at that. It wasn't much about the cooties anymore. There was a time and place for something that intimate and in her opinion, it wasn't at a very public event within the school of all places. She couldn't imagine kissing anyone, let alone in a place of learning. With a roll of her eyes, she turned back to the... couple? It suddenly occurred to her that they might be on a date but Max had motioned her over.

"Am I intruding on anything?" It was a bit blunt for her taste but Dymphna didn't want to ruin their night. She was too polite and didn't want to become a third wheel. Rosie had obviously been on a date of her own too. Was third year the year that all of her friends would start going on dates? There was some pressure there, an awkward feeling that perhaps she was missing out on something but it would be hard to find someone who didn't see her for her Veela ancestry, or so she thought. She gave a concerned glance Phaedra's way, hoping to convey that if it were a date, she didn't want to bother them.

Janus had seen most of his dorm mates leave as he'd tried to tie his mask. When his parents had known there would be a masquerade ball, they had wasted no time sending him all he needed. The pack came with a letter, written by his mother in a lively tone he had never seen her use around magical events. She had informed him that his sister and her had carefully chosen his suit in an apparently famous shop, while the mask was an old one his father had found among his inheritance. When Janus had opened the packaging though, he'd seen red fabric. Red, dark red, wine red, whatever shade it was it was still Gryffindor's colour. In those two months at Hogwarts he had watched his house face the Lions twice already, and he'd developed a fierce sporting rivalry towards them. It was nothing serious but he'd have rather not gone to the ball dressed in red. His mother and sister couldn't know it though and it was probably too late to ask for another suit, so he'd just sighed and put it on for that evening.

The only problem were the laces with which he'd been battling for the past minutes, but after some efforts he managed to tie them up behind his head. Under the mask, he'd be wearing the magically adapting contact lenses some older year had thankfully given him, taking pity on his near-blindness without glasses.

He glanced one last time in the mirror before following the other lategoers out of the common room and down the moving stairs in long, careless strides. When he got to the ballroom he was taken aback by how elegant the whole setting looked, that is until the band he hadn't noticed started screming a new song. He supposed he wasn't meant to stand in the entrance all night, so he started moving through masked strangers towards the buffet he'd spotted in a corner. When he got there, he stuffed a couple biscuits in his mouth before grabbing a glass of whatever that drink was. When he gulped it down carelessly he almost choked on it, but he managed to noticed that it tasted exactly like Pimm's, even though it didn't look anything like it. It didn't seem to be alcoholic though, which made him like it even more. When his grandma had made him secretly taste the cocktail, he'd thought the alcohol just dampened down the fruit flavour.

Glass in hand, he made a couple steps farther into the room to take a better look at all the masks and costumes. Just then, he felt something soft brush against his ankle; he looked down just in time to avoid stepping onto the fat cat at his feet. Without missing a beat he crouched down, sloshing some drops of drink onto its fur in the process, and put his hand near the cat's snout to sniff. He thought it'd probably still smell the biscuits he'd eaten; "And how the hell did you end up in here, eh?" he softly asked the grey feline. He couldn't think of a reason a cat would wander into such crowd. An idea suddenly struck him; maybe it was an Animagus! It would be the perfect masking.

As he began to study the cat more closely, he felt the people around him get nervous or excited because of something. It wasn't because of a sound, the metal music and chatter drowning most of it, it was more like a collective shift in attention and movements. Getting curious, he stood back up and looked around. There seemed to be some tension gathering up ahead; an adult figure, a redheaded girl and someone with a joker mask all standing between a white-dressed student and... his weird House mate, the one who had stood by himself even on the dodgeball pitch. He also suddenly noticed a giant pink shape arriving out of the corner of his eye and when he recognised the voice he groaned internally. Externally, he smirked thinking about those poor students having to deal with Prof. Berg- the flying professor. She was funny at a distance but could be really annoying when all you wanted was some peace and quiet.

While he was turning his head to follow the professor's approach, his gaze met the mask standing right next to him and he freezed. It was a mildly terrifying cat mask, grinning with countless little teeth, and Janus had to reassure himself that it was a completely harmless object by discreetly looking at the dark hair slipping out of it. It was a masquerade ball, he probably looked weird as well in his bird mask and Gryffindor-red suit. Shaking himself and redirecting his focus to the commotion in front of him, he tried to understand why they all seemed so angry with the girl in white but quickly lost interest in the forthcoming detention, and remembered he had a possible Animagus to study. He crouched back down to the cat's level and offered him his drink.

Thea walked into the ball room, surprised to see that there was already a number of people there. Amongst them she could see some familiar faces - not exactly friends though. There was the Ilvermorny boy whom she's met when they were first arriving (here she made a mental note not to approach or just all out avoid him for now) as well as a golden haired girl she believed to be the slytherin prefect she was absolutely terrified of.

Well, she came down the stairs and corrected her mask. It was a beautiful one - the msot recognizable thing in her outfit, among the white and blue dress and sparkly golden flats, the mask tied it all together. It was golden, but that's not exactly what your eyes would focus on. You'd instead first see the giant antlers coming out of the mask which Thea had made herself. Paper mache wasn't too hard to make or just come by and even if, she could ask her parents to send her something - like the wire the antlers were based on. They were also golden, and it was just a good mask overall.

Even with her face covered, Thea still felt uncomfortable. Whenever she'd do anything to make herself stand out even more she'd felt uncomfortable - it was a bit weird. She'd recently gotten her hair cut much much shorter than she had in her first year, and she'd felt like everyone was staring, even if she knew it wasn't true.

She'd quickly scanned the room yet again, seeing a couple of pairs dance and a girl with a literal cat whom some other guy was trying to feed punch. She blinked a couple of times and scurried over to the corner, noticing some of the talking paintings have been transferred. Do you think if you'd drop some punch on the paintings they'd be able to taste it? Yep, these were the weird thoughts crossing Thea's mind. It's also why she'd not noticed that the corner she'd chosen was already occupied by a tall boy she'd never seen before.

The Hufflepuff leaned against the wall and look at the ballroom once more, trying to keep her antlers out of the paintings.

Terrible Presence
Unsettling Aura

The fog came fast. That angry, hungry fog that clouded his mind and took his reasoning for itself. He hated the fog, hated it with a burning passion. But there it was, there it was again. All because of the smell of that fabulous, beautifully evil blood. Why would she want him to attack her, anyway? What could she possibly have to gain from being destroyed, from being ripped to shreds and mauled by him, the monster of hogwarts' halls.

A lot of things happened as Kaegen started to slip away. He noticed the face of that joker, and remembered it. That face was helping, he could hear it dimly calling out the prefect, he could see some student with red hair grabbing her, suddenly saw another professor. By this point in time the pink flying professor with the face had made it to the group. There were two of them, two professors. He should feel fear, terror, panic.

The little ravenclaw desperately searched his mind. Where was the fear, where was the paranoia, the safety? Where was the little corners he used to hide in, the mistrusting thoughts that overanalyzed his surroundings? Where was any of it, where was the things that made him who he was? He needed that fear, now more than ever, but it was nowhere. All he could see, or hear, or feel was the hunger, was the ravenous cloud. And when he felt for what was left of who he was, he only found the cold fires of hate, fires that seemed to be fueled by the cloud. Fires that grew ever brighter and stronger.

The twisting shadows exploded outwards, the sheer force of the little boy's hatred washing over anyone around him like a stiff, slicing breeze. His aura was not the simple aura of a dhampir, it was so much more, like there was some other living presence in the room, as if the shadows had taken over the boy's frail body, and it was not the aura of a dhampir, but the aura of a true monster that surrounded him.

The smell of blood was too strong, far too overwhelming to simply ignore, or even to be overpowered by stronger scents. To him, blood was the strongest scent, the ultimate scent, the siren call that drove him to madness. His pupils had already turned into some dark fluid, an amorphous mass that spread to all corners of his eyes. No longer did they burn like twin eclipses, now they were simply dark, empty pools of obsidian.

The boy that had helped him was in the way, he was too close. Kaegen launched himself to side in a surprisingly long leap, as far from his unexpected help as he could manage. And that was it, that was all he could do. The blood was still there, after all. It was still spreading and out in the open. And Kaegen had no reserves left, he had nothing in him to prevent this from happening. He had barely any sleep, he had no rest in any sense of that word. His entire life consisted of worry and fear and hate, and a boy as young as he was simply couldn't keep up with that.

Kaegen should have gone vampire long ago, he should have attacked people when they got scraped in the hall, or when they got bloody noses. But he hadn't. He had kept focus on the hate and the fear and had forged forward, he had used focus that shouldn't have been possible for someone his age, and survived. But now? Now he was too weak, he had finally crumbled, finally had the walls of his castle worn down enough to allow the fog to storm his keep.

He could feel his feet start to move towards the blood. Not the full rush of some dhampirs, but a swaying run, a run that showed plainly that Kaegen knew he was not fighting something that could be easily taken down. He was fighting a cluster of snakes, and although he couldn't think much at all, he still knew somewhere deep down that he had to be careful. Careful enough to leave room to dodge, but not so careful that he didn't try to make his move.

It would have been a small jump to the side, trying to move around the professor. He wanted to kill the astronomy professor more, but he didn't smell as nice. He smelled as though he didn't have as much blood, or maybe he just seemed colder. The flying professor was clearly the better meal, but hate won out. There was still some blood in there, it would be fine. He would attack the astronomy professor.

The small jump to the side would be followed by a strained lunge, not going for the neck, but rather for the professor's midsection. Blood was just below the surface of that skin, blood was so close he could practically taste it. He was a spectator now, a spectator both rooting himself on, and fearfully crying in his own mind, dimly aware that he had lost. He had failed. He was broken and he needed someone to fix him.
-Leaped away from pierre
-Moved towards the professors
-moved to the side so his attack wouldn't be head-on
-attacked alaric's side.

More and more people were flocking over to the scene, like moths to a fire. "Hm. Don't like that." She clicked. She had been there. She had done that. She knew that Aurelia wasn't going to get off scot-free, and unharmed. "Waow." Schrödinger gave another gurgly little grunt. She reached for her umbrella, to retrieve her wand that was hidden safely inside by a little strap.

"Oh you're absolutely brilliant, friend. Why hadn't I thought of that sssooner?" And just when she thought everything was going to go haywire, Aurelia left. Just up and left. She paused for a moment, perhaps her wand wasn't necessary. Xailahs eyes narrowed into little yellow slivers, as she watched the girl exit. Oh but thats all part of you're plan isn't it? You're far to clever to just walk away. Schrödinger had jumped down, his attention turned to a boy in a birds mask. Lots of birds here. Strange. He offered the fat feline some of his drink. Schrödinger lapped it up happily, not knowing that it was a magical punch of some sort. What he tasted was some milk with a nice little splash of Bourbon.

It was a drink that Xailahs great aunt Tabitha often snuck to all of the cats. Schrödinger looked up at the boy, and licked his chops, before sneezing; blowing a spray of snot in the direction of the boys shiny shoes. That was when everything went wrong. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the pale boy lunge at a professor. She turned to the Bird-boy, her wand in hand. She rose one finger to the mouth of her mask. "You wouldn't tell...would you?" And with that she made a quick decision. "Fumos." Quick. Discreet. Schrödinger ran from the boy to return to his mistresses side. The smoke rolled in slowly, Xailah pushed further into the crowd, so there was no way of knowing that she was the one who had cast the spell. Only three people really knew. Herself, Schrödinger, and Bird-boy.

Before me, you rightly tremble. But, fear is not what you owe me. You owe me awe....

She smiled up at him brightly when he agreed to get it checked up on. “Thank you and yes I promise to fuss less now unless it looks like it is getting really bad again. If we need to leave the dance it won’t bother me, and I would prefer you to be happy.” On top of that if they did leave the masque then she could give him his birthday present on his actual birthday instead of waiting until tomorrow. Though it was more likely that it would be happening tomorrow regardless. She didn’t think her gift to him was too over the top and she had given her word that it wouldn’t be, but then again her idea of over the top was probably much different than his.

“I really don’t think your mom is here Rook, even though I’d love to meet her. I’ve heard a couple of people say this drink tasted different to them. Like we have the same drink but to me, it tastes like hot cocoa with cinnamon only not hot.” She would finish her drink when he mentioned potions and she lit up like a beacon in the darkness. “Rook, potions, and healing are to me what playing quidditch is to you. I want to be unparalleled as a potions master and a healer.” This was the first time he had really ever brought up something that she loved like this. They talked about quidditch all the time because they both loved it, he more than her as it was his passion. This, however, was the first moment that she got to express to him just how much she loved potions.
