Pets! I can't imagine not living without at least one animal. Right now we only have a beta fish, a "skinny pig", and a Kenyan Sand Boa, so nothing quite as one-on-one as cats and dogs. But it's comforting to have some critters to interact with and look after. Our home would feel empty without them.

I shoved a peanut up my nose when I was 4 years old. Just as the doctor was about to stick the tweezers up there to remove it, I sneezed. Flew out like a bullet. (Of all my childhood memories... smh)
