FAQ — Questions
Why does the Strength stat... hm... even exist?
It is literally used only for some actions in quidditch, maybe for some events. While stats like Accuracy or Agility are used all the time for all kinds of games, duels (duels that let you get more stats), etc. It makes the players who put more points in Strength disadvantaged in almost any situation. Could someone explain how is that supposed to be a fair design? Because so far it looks like a noob trap. It's very confusing for me.

FAQ — Questions
Statistics are used for events too. The strength stat is actually quite key in various positions. Using one boy I know as an example because he has 9 Strength.
He excels as a beater - which does have an element of strength to it.
He also excels in "strength" based rolls for events. For example, he successfully managed to carry Serena and save her life, because of that. If it was lower, he may have dropped her / failed to pick her up.
Similarly, if a physical event occurred, he would excel in it.
In a wizard event, strength is useless because it's about the magical abilities. However, physically, strength is key. Any events that have a physical element to it would be easier for them. Plus, if he got into a physical fight, he would be able to take a punch a lot better than someone weaker and give one too. It's not a trap, it's just realistic. Everyone has different skills. This guy aimed to be better physically and show he's not very good at magic (right now) because he grew up as a muggle.
P.S. For duels, you also need Control + Arc Power. It's not just Acc + Agility. So having high in those two don't necessary make you good at everything else. That's pretty much the only one that uses those two. The other [official] systems use other stats.

FAQ — Questions
Of course all stats can be used for RPG in some way. In that matter no stat is better than the other. You never know what happens.
But let me write it down:
Stamina: duels, quidditch
Agility: duels, quidditch
Strength: quidditch
Control: duels
ArcPower: duels
Accuracy: duels, quidditch
I think it's clear that it's best to max out Stamina, Agility and Accuracy, if you want a character that can do both quidditch and dueling. Doing both makes it easier to acquire even more stats. Three other stats, especially Strength (strength... in a school for wizards...) are inferior.
Of course this is powergaming on a site that is made for fun RPGs, I get that. Still... I played too many games to win to just let it go. ; )

FAQ — Questions
Quidditch is changing completely, to be honest. So that may not be true soon. Who knows right now? Plus, there's another system being worked on that looks at different stats too. But yeah, as more comes out, it will change things.

So here's the followup question. Between the revamp of quidditch and other systems being introduced, what are the chances that existing characters get to restat after these changes are made?Serena Towers wrote: 18 Jun 2018, 17:40 Quidditch is changing completely, to be honest. FAQ — Questions
This was from Leonie on Discord... So I'm assuming this means stats cannot be changed, even without being registered?? Don't quote me though, because I could be reading that wrong! With the release of the Official Index and Registration, I would like to remind everyone that changing your stats from pre-update is not allowed. Thank you.
FAQ — Questions
At the moment, none - to be quite honest. Changing stats is strictly prohibited right now.John Johns wrote:So here's the followup question. Between the revamp of quidditch and other systems being introduced, what are the chances that existing characters get to restat after these changes are made?
The plans are that the Quidditch system will use the same stats as before - so positions shouldn't be affected. With the introduction of new systems, it is unlikely people will be able to restat with these. Because if, for example, you've made your character very fast but physically weak (like I have), they wouldn't suddenly become really strong and slow. Stats should be based on the character - not on the system.
For example, I stat-ed Serena to be weak as I pictured her to be a tiny girl who never exercises and doesn't have enough muscle mass to be strong. However, as she grows up, I do plan to increase her strength. She'll also get better at magic, which right now she's just mediocre in.
That being said, it's something I'll bring up when we've revamped Quidditch and looked at the stats affected by that. There's no guarantee it will be allowed but it will be brought up and discussed amongst the team. We will get back to you on this one. For now, it's a no. If that changes, everyone will be informed.
