Also, Haze is right! Just because you attend an American school or live in America doesn't mean you're American! (I actually have a friend who was born and lived in Germany until last year and she's attending my school! )

Actually, no. The only way to be classified as an American is if you've been born in the US, become a naturalized citizen, or have at least one American parent which means that if you live in a different country you get dual citizenship.

Just as a note since I'm sure others are curious. You can become an American citizen if not born in the US and after the naturalization process is complete. To be classified as American after this means that you have taken the Oath of Allegiance which does not have a certain amount of time before you can take the oath. This is honestly for anyone curious and not for causing an argument. If anyone is curious about anything American-related feel free to owl me and I can do my best to help since I'm born and raised in the US.
