Knowing a spell does not mean that they can effectively cast it, as reflected in our stats system. Have a 1 in arcane power and a 15 in your accuracy. you might hit me with that very advanced spell but it is going to be an embarrassing tickle.

I know folks can RP whatever way they'd like, but I think it'd be nice if, when signing up ( / after a character transitions, potentially) if there was a nonbinary option available. Which is a v small thing, but sometimes I can get a little confused when RPing with a character and then see in their profile that a different gender symbol is listed as their gender.

(I also recognize Zach's got a lot of work on his hands - again, just a small suggestion if/when it might be possible).

A thing that our non-binary folks do is they place their preferred pronouns in their profile or they mark their posts with their preference. Gender being a spectrum, even non-binary fails to encompass that portion of the player population unfortunately considering we have gender fluid to consider as well. The male and female aspect of the site is merely based on genetics, not on identity. This suggestion has been brought up before and unfortunately we have not found a suitable means of creating additional options because the male and female designation is used to give dorm access unless we make a third dorm for non-binary players segregating them from the community (which is not something we would want to do since we really try hard to be inclusive). The other options would be to exclude non-binary players from dorms, giving them less (which would be unfair). Another would be to give them access to both, however that would be an advantage and brings up issues of fairness. The final option would be to allow them to pick and choose, meaning that they can change their designation at will. this would be a burden to moderate and again grant a distinctive advantage to a singular portion of the player base that can change their accesses ad lib. For this reason, we have stuck with gender being based on biology rather than identity in terms of what shows up for you.

We would need a lot more discussion on how to make additional options possible in a fair way.

I wasn't sure if this is something that can be coded - but I thought (for story continuity) it might be cool to have something like a daily weather randomizer to keep weather consistent between threads that take place on the same day.

(this is just a lil suggestion and I know that Zachary is very busy and doesn't have time for lots of extra coding)

I have a suggestion. On the home page for Hogwarts.io, it tells the users how many wizards/witches are currently online. I was wondering if maybe there could be a way to see who is online as well.

I am pretty sure that is a feature on the marauders map or the underground map. I have no idea because I do not have any of them but I have seen pictures from other people and they know when a professor is marking homework or where a student is a certain time.

Having it on the home page would defeat the purpose of the maps and there would be no reason to even buy them then. Hope this helps

Im assuming that this is already intact. If you go to the users profile, you should be able to see when the user was last active, as well as if they are currently online. The usage of maps is also available to those who have acquired them- otherwise navigating to the users profile seems the other plausible option.
