โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ A scowl took centrefold on the second year's face. How could anybody enjoy this? It was too loud, for a start. Everybody clapping and shouting to their friends, celebrating as the new students sat on a little stool and got their futures read out to them by a old hat. Whoopee. It was tradition, sure, but Faye didn't understand why it had to be so loud. Especially when a boy from Slytherin she recognised as Colin McCoire, the boy Regina has fallen out with at the LGBTQ+ errand last year, decided to screech his friend's name, Clair Fernandez, the loudest he could possibly go.
Her hands swiftly made their way towards her ears, a reflex action, sticking a finger in each to muffle the sound. Really? Did nobody at this godforsaken school have any care for others? Ever heard of spatial awareness? Ugh. With an eyeroll, the Ravenclaw retracted her hands and watched with ignorance as another one of her housemates stood up to shout back (Really?), but it wasn't Clair. Bright blue radiated in her vision from her girl's dyed hair as she took in every aspect of her, her nose turning up slightly. Her hair was surely a sight to see. It just attracted attention and-
Hazel eyes dilated. No. Oh god. Did she not dye her hair bright enough? Ginger stood out, right? She'd messed up, ruined everything. Why hadn't she gone neon? No, no no noโฆ
During the holidays her mother had stopped buying her the special hair dye, citing her increasingly sparse wallet. It was a reasonable explanation, but that didn't matter to her. What mattered was that her hair was back to it's original dirty blonde, the same colour as hundreds of other students. She just blended into the crowd. And she hated that. She was back to being insignificant, back to being worthless. Would Regina even recognise her? Hell, would she remember her?
So, as she aggressively ran her fingers through the blonde hair, she felt a stab of self-consciousness. Sophia, as she heard her friend call her, seemed so effortlessly nice. She wasn't having to force herself to exchange pleasantries, or be a completely different person. And she got to be all lovey-dovey with her friend by hugging her. Faye never got to do that with anybody. One, she never had anybody in the first place and two, even if she has Regina, she doubted that she'd ever receive a hug from the girl. She seemed awfully prickly.
As the house elves brought out the food, the Ravenclaw picked up her fork, fiddling with it idly, her eyes focused on it moving side to side. She kept one ear open to the conversation at her side of the table, and couldn't help the quiet scoff that came out of her. The newly sorted girl sure liked to talk.
"You just really like questions, aye?" Faye muttered, still fiddling with the fork. She wasn't even trying to hide the accent, being in Derry for the summer just enhanced it further. She looked up from the table, blinking slowly. Sophia reminded her of someone, but she couldn't put her finger on whom.
Leaning forward over the table, Faye turned to Sophia, scrutinising her under her glare.
"Do I know yous from somewhere?"

Outfit: School robes, tie untiedSophia giggled as Gem wriggled free of her grasp. She didn't take the girl's annoyed attitude seriously. She knew the girl was just a little hungry and cranky, and it was frankly her fault since she'd eaten most of Gem's candy on the train, so she didn't bother feeling offended.
"I mean, I know it's Scottish. I just - I can't tell what she's saying, you know? Colin's accent isn't this thick."
She turned to Clair and offered a happy wave.
"It's been, uh, eventful. How 'bout you? I'm assuming you met Colin?" she asked, unable to hide her curiosity. Especially after Colin's little shout across the Hall.
Then the new girl - Isla - gestured at the food on the table with clear wonder in her eye. Now that was a meaning Sophia would understand no matter the language barrier. She smiled at Isla and nodded, remembering her own amazement at the food at her first feast. While many of the dishes had been odd - standard British dishes weren't what the American girl was used to - she'd been nevertheless overjoyed at the sheer amount of delicious stuff.
Following Gem's lead, she began to load a plate down with more things than a girl her age - and height - should have ever been able to handle, but eating was certainly one of Sophia's specialties.
As she was taking a particularly large bite out of what she assumed was a turkey leg, another voice addressed both Isla and her, with a soft mumble and a curious question respectively.
Sophia turned to the girl, wiping turkey juices from her chin and returning the food to her plate.
"Maybe? You look kind of familiar, yourself," she said, trying to place where she'd seen the girl before. Her accent sounded Irish - Northern Irish, probably - so maybe they'd met before Hogwarts? Sophia didn't have any friends outside of school, though, so that didn't make sense.
The blonde addressing her still seemed familiar though.
Sophia racked her brain until an image of a girl with the same face - but red hair - popped into her head. Ah! It was her!
"Wait! I do know you!" she said as recognition dawned upon her at last. "You're Regina's friend! The one from the broom race! Uh, let me think. Hmm. Kay? No. Uh, Tay? No, no. It was something with a- Oh, right! Faye!"
She smiled at Faye. Any friend of Regina's was a friend of hers.
Not only was Regina like the most awesome duellist of her year, having survived a curse of bogies and being caught on fire without losing her composure, but she was also Sophia's most recent hero! The way she'd stopped Soph from crashing and burning on the train with her Heelys was nothing short of incredible, and the blue-head's admiration for Regina had only grown from there.
If she could only become half the witch Regina was, she would be good and truly satisfied with her progress.
"Man, Regina sure is something, isn't she? When you see her, could you give her my thanks? She basically saved my life tonight, and I can't thank her enough. She's so cool and pretty and elegant! Like a - a princess, but more of the 'butt-kicking' type of princess, not the 'oh come save me, fair prince,' kind of princess. Not to mention those eyes! Those totally awesome, purple eyes! I never noticed them before, but with the way she held me, it's kind of hard to miss, you know?"
She put a stopper on her hero worship long enough to make at least some kind of attempt at hiding the blush creeping onto her cheeks. It wasn't that she felt that way about Regina, after all. It was just a bit of confusion from the way Regina had caught her on the train. It was the same way Kim caught her at the Blossom Ball, and Soph was simply mixing her emotions up in her head. That was it. That was definitely it.
Of course, the events of summer didn't exactly help with her confusion. Her sinful thoughts were getting worse, and she blamed her momentary weakness during 'Twirl the Flagon.' She knew that her thoughts weren't okay for her, and she knew that, logically, she was simply admiring the fact that Regina was objectively pretty and had saved her from a fall. There was nothing more than that on her end, and she had to accept that.
She needed to go to the confessional as soon as she had time when she went back home. Father Lamb would be able to help her sort these thoughts out. It was one thing to have sinful thoughts, but she'd acted on them, and the last thing she wanted was for her soul to be damned forever, so she needed to clean up her act.
...but Regina really was amazing, though. Why was all of this so confusing?
"B-but yeah, you know me from there, I think..." she muttered, desperate to change her train of thought.Notes:ReducioLet the battle commenceInteracting:

The Ravenclaw Table 2022-2023
Bea had been smiling a lot tonight. Something about returning to the old stony castle made her breathe easier. It wasn't that home was bad or she disliked being there, quite the opposite in fact. It was just that being here, surrounded by peers, who knew of her magic and being in a place where it could be celebrated was joyous. Especially as she sat between her peers at the Ravenclaw table.
A lot of new faces were here this year, bright and bubbly. She also noticed that there were a few fellow second years conversing at the table, helping to field all of the younger years questions. As Bea sat eating her vanilla ice-cream she grinned covertly at the ongoing conversations. Something about a language barrier and names. Bea understood that. Her northern Scots accent had, she realised through-out the year, been something her fellow Hogwartians had difficult deciphering.
Bea had come home from first year in tears, when her Ma had finally pried out the real reason she was so upset. And although Ma was sympathetic, she had sat Bea down saying that Scots and the accent her hard for her fellow peers and that she should use English more. Bea had vehemently abhorred the idea, but after having Hilda visit and Summer Camp, Bea had decided it was for the best. She would now try and speak more English. Even if she loved her Scots more. So that really, was why she now sat here, giggling to herself.
Deciding to end the poor girls lack of knowledge on all things Scots, she leaned over and piped up. "Ye huvin' trouble?" Even though some slight Scots slipped into the sentence, she hoped the sentence was decent enough that the girls understood. As she talked though, she grinned at the first year. "Beatrice. From Ellon, Scotland. How urr ye?" How are you?

โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ Faye grit her teeth. She really shouldn't have started talking, she'd just given this girl a wide enough berth to start chatting away. Great. These were the types of people she liked to avoid. But alas, she did remember Sophia from the broom races earlier in the year, she was Kim's friend who'd sat with them and watched the race. Poor taste. The girl's hair had been ginger back then, not the vibrant blue it was now. Had she caught onto her idea of using hair dye for attention? Was she trying to one-up her?
However, a powdery blush arose upon the mention of being 'Regina's friend'. It made her feel all fuzzy inside, almost giving her a false sense of validation. She leant back down into her seat, smiling as she started twiddling the fork again, looking awfully bashful as she imagined being more. The wonderous feeling made her overlook the fact that Sophia got her name wrong, and almost made her tune out of the conversation until the next sentence caught her off guard.
The fork fell out of her fingers and onto the wooden table with a clink!
Sophia mentioned Regina again. With that... that look of admiration and worship on her face. It made her sick.
Who did she think she was, spouting all that? When did this happen? At the platform? On the train? Had she really spent that entire train journey running through plausible scenarios of her and Regina whilst Regina was off 'saving the life' of this utter knob just meters away? Had everything she'd done been for nothing? Did Regina even like her? Was she about to leave her for this other Ravenclaw? What was she, a test? Had she not been as nice? Or quirky? Had she been pushing people away again? What had she done wrong?
Oh, if only her ma could hear all the words trailing through her conscience at this moment in time, she'd go mental. She didn't want to cause a scene, or bring anymore unwanted attention, but this was just crossing the line. She would not be giving Regina any of Sophia's potty thanks, she'd rather have detention. Faye already felt ill thinking about Regina holding Sophia, the blue-haired girl looking into her eyes...
Disgusting.
Out of pure spite, she retrieved her wand from her cloak pocket, keeping it below the table so Sophia couldn't see. Spells weren't that tricky, right? She hadn't been able to practice over the summer for some silly reason like 'the secrecy of the entire magical world' or whatever, but she'd done lots of studying into the theory behind casting. Admittedly a little too much studying, but she hoped that it'd at least raise her grades.
"Wingardium Leviosa." Faye whispers, pointing her wand discreetly at the abandoned plate in front of the blue-haired girl.Reduciocasting:

The plate began to levitate off the table slowly before stopping just above the top of Sophia's head. With another flick of her wand it crashed back down onto the table, being smashed in the process. Although she flinched at the sudden sound, she tried her best to seem calm and collected.
"Oops! Oh god, I'm so sorry! This wand is just so unreliable, you know?"

Clair watched as things seemed to start happening, was Hogwarts a magnet for Drama? Was it a unspoken rule that each time things were going well that someone would have to add drama?
It all honesty Clair could see why there was always drama, put +++ Pre teens and Teens whose body are full of Hormones, stick a little Love here, and add a little hate there Sprinkle some magic knto everyone's hands and put 'em all in a building together for nine months and your bound to get at least some drama.
Clair decided that before things got really bad (seeing as plates were getting shattered) she would move away from the drama.
"Excuse me Isla, but I think I'd be better to move away from this spot, I think there could be some drama soon. "Some people can't seem to pull themselves together enough to let us enjoy dinner without attempting to disturb it!" She said loud enough for Faye to hear it.
She had met the other Ravenclaw last year and the girl had seemed rather happy and bubbly, maybe she was just in a bad mood today, or else she had just been Happy that day that they had met last year.

"...and her hair, too. It's just the perfect shade of black. It matches her eyes perfectly, and I don't know if you noticed, but there's a certain way the wavy sides kind of fall down and frame her face? It's breathtaking. And you know what? I'm going to say it. Her nose. It's one of the most perfect noses I've ever seen. I don't know how she did it, but she was born with an amazing nose that just-"
Sophia was so distracted by her own gushing, that she didn't notice her plate giving a slight wobble and rising into the air. Her mind was so focused on Regina's nose - which really was perfect - that she didn't notice the suspicious lip movements of Faye or the rustling of the blonde's robes as her hands moved under the table.
It wasn't until the plate crashed upon her head - and Sophia found herself covered in turkey-leg-juices, some sort of potatoes, and the juices from a stew she'd scooped the delicious bits out of. Her - in her opinion - lovely blue hair was filled with bits of veggie and other foodstuffs and her robes were now soaked in the delicious yet disgusting substances on her plate.
Sophia didn't even notice the plate clattering on the table as she tried to find the culprit. Who'd attacked her with her delicious dinner and why? Gem? No. Gem was hungry, so she was happily eating her own food. The new kid couldn't. Clair wouldn't have. She seemed to be shying away.
Her eyes settled on Faye just as the blonde offered her less-than-sincere apology. Sophia wasn't an expert spellcaster by any means, but even she knew that Faye's excuse was just ridiculous. She'd attacked Soph on purpose, and the blue-haired girl didn't have the slightest inkling why she would do such a thing!
They'd been having such a nice conversation about Regina! She'd even tried to be nice to the girl, considering them to be in the early stages of friendship! What'd she done wrong?
Sophia's embarrassment and self-conscious train of thought began to fade to anger. She'd done nothing, that was what she'd done, and she wasn't going to sit here and take this.
She wasn't the same tiny, scared Catholic girl she'd been one year ago. She was no longer the type to deal with something like this and then react by running away and crying. No, she was older, wiser, and she'd even survived her first duel! She had to stand up for herself, and she was going to!
She stood from the table, glaring at Faye as she drew her own wand. Cherry wood and dragon heartstring, supposedly. She'd only looked it up after making it onto the duelling team, but she still didn't quite understand the significance or lack thereof. No, all she knew was that a dragon could kick Faye's butt, and that was all she needed to do.
"What the heck!?" she growled at the girl, pointing her wand at her head from a distance. "Flipendo!"
Unfortunately, Sophia's dinner chose that moment to drip down from the top of her head to her face, momentarily blocking her vision. The cast was surprisingly successful, given Soph's lack of innate magical talent, but her aim was just off.
She felt the spell leave her wand, and it seemed to be a doozy of a Flipendo by her standards, but as she wiped the potatoes and turkey juices from her eyes, she growled as she realized the spell'd missed. Before she could see the smirk that was probably on Faye's mouth at her miss, Sophia made a desperate decision out of frustration. She grabbed a big handful of mashed potatoes and threw it at Faye's stupid head.
It was childish, and she was well beyond the age of throwing food at people who made her mad, but as she saw the glob of mashed potatoes heading straight for the stupid blonde's stupid face, Sophia felt a surge of pride.

The Ravenclaw Table 2022-2023
โฉ Taking a seat at the Ravenclaw Table โฉ
๐๐ถ๐๐: September 1st, 2022
๐ฏ๐พ๐๐: Early Evening
๐ฟ๐๐ธ๐ถ๐๐พ๐๐: Ravenclaw Table, The Great Hall
It had been an extremely long and emotional day for the young blonde Irish girl known as Alora Shendrow, from packing up her things back in London after 2 weeks of vacation with her beloved family to saying goodbye for her first official trip to her new school via the Hogwarts Express the young girl was already feeling more than ready for a long night of rest not that she would sleep due to the excitement more than likely.
After traversing the dark watery depths of the great lake on what seemed to be some small rickety boats alongside her fellow first years Alora had seen her new home for the very first time just moments earlier. Sat beside a few other first years as she sails across the watery depths of the great lake that surrounds the ancient castle the view had been unbelievable as the school came into view before the boats would dock upon the shoreline as each first year would disembark in turn heading up the large stone stairs towards the entrance of the surreal castle that they would be calling home for at least the next seven years.
Standing together for a few moments within the large entrance hall the lives of the first years was just moments away from changing forever. For Alora the idea of change was rather overwhelming as she would have to leave everything that sheโd ever known behind her, her dreams of becoming a vet on the family farm, her muggle education, and being a muggle in general. Sinking in that she was now forevermore a member of the wizarding world the young girl had taken a deep breath to steady her nerves as the large oak wooden doors swung open announcing the entrance of the first years ready for their journeys to begin, ready for the sorting ceremony.
With the first speech of the school year beginning as the headmaster of Hogwarts, Solomon Lear would welcome the students back for another year at Hogwarts before explaining in detail what the new students could expect in the next few moments soon enough the ceremony would be in full swing. One by one each of the first years would find themselves being sorted into one of the four Hogwarts Houses that they would be classed as their family whilst at school for the next seven years when finally the two fated words rang across the great hallโฆ Alora Shendrow.
Going through the sorting ceremony was one of the most nerve-wracking experiences of the young girl's life so far, not only would she be learning the house she belonged to within mere moments but the thought of all eyes within the hall being upon her form was almost as terrifying as the idea of her muggle life coming to an end. With the nerves rising to almost a boiling point as her throat felt like it was on fire nausea rising deep in the pits of her stomach, the young girl would close her eyes tightly as she would begin to breathe deeply through the nerves listening to what the old dusty hat placed upon her head spoke. But soon enough her nerves and the life she had been living would come to an end as Alora would learn the house she belonged to was that of the wise eagle, the house of Ravenclaw.
Almost running off the stage as soon as sheโd entered the entire room as the room applauded hoping to get the attention off of her as soon as possible the blonde would head in the direction of the large table belonging to her house to enjoy the rest of the sorting ceremony and participate in the start of year feast. The table itself clad in blues and bronze was extremely large in size being one of four tables that filled the main space of the grandiose great hall of the school lined both sides with a variety of long wooden benches that matched the wood to which the table was made played the role of seating for the countless students new and old belonging to the house of Ravenclaw.
With countless students of the house deep in conversation with each other, the young blonde took her seat beside a large group of girls in mid-conversation silently not wishing to interrupt or seem rude in any way. Smiling as she nodded in greeting to them silently her attention would be turned towards the ceremony as she continued on with the days' events.

โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ The Ravenclaw's eyes lit up with a mischievous glint. Was this what it felt like to rebel? Why was it such a bad thing? It made the girl feel lightheaded and euphoric. She could do anything. Who could stop her? She sat twiddling her wand with both hands over the table, promoting herself to number one suspect with a smirk on her face as Sophia's eyes wandered across the table. God, she looked ridiculous. Faye couldn't help the snort that escaped her as she took in the girl's new appearance.
When her victim's eyes finally locked onto her own, she felt a new wave of immoral glee. Her face was priceless. What she'd give to hear her internal thoughts. Sophia was standing up now, brandishing her wand in all her sloppy glory. For a split second, that tiniest moment in the interval of time, there was a small sense of something.. Could it be fear? It was nothing to sponsor a movement, simply a feeling in the back of her head, but it bothered her.
Faye let out a breathy laugh as the blast from Sophia's Flipendo flew past her, blonde hair blowing dramatically, and bounced off the wall. Her smirk was wide as she scanned her brain for a good comeback, leaving her prone to attack. Before she could share her, in her eyes, hilarious insult, she saw her enemy throw mashed potatoes point blank at her head. She tried to yank her head away from the incoming potato, but that just meant that it got all over her hair.
"What the-?!" She screamed, not a care in the world about the fact that the entire student body, plus professors, could hear her. In her anger she fumbled with her wand, almost dropping it as she raised it to herself. She'd seen Regina cast the cleaning spell a few times in her first year, so she wasn't a stranger to the incantation. "Scourgify!"ReducioShe sighed to herself as the disgusting warm feeling of the mashed potatoes disappeared off her scalp. Whipping her wand back down to her side and a look of seething envy on her face, Faye stood up violently onto the bench, slamming her feet down into the wood, looking down on Sophia, who she'd been able to mildly tolerate before now. She looked manic, almost unhinged even, glaring down at this blue-haired girl with sparkling eyes focused on causing as much destruction as possible.
"What on earth do you think you're playing at, you fucking dose?"an unbearable human being She screeched even louder this time."Yeah, she sure is something, and that something isn't yours. If only I knew how to blast you into the ground because, god help me, I would! Oh, Slide on, you..." Faye trailed off, words coming out her mouth at such a fast pace that they ran out. Then, she had an idea. A wonderful, wicked idea. She raised her wand to Sophia yet again.

Outfit: School robes, tie untiedAs Faye took the time to clean herself, Sophia smirked and did the same, giving her wand the familiar S-wave she'd seen Hunter do in the abandoned bathrooms last year and attempting the spell.
"Scourgify!"
Sophia closed her eyes as the sensation of being scoured clean washed over her, but at least she wasn't covered in food anymore, and she could kind of see the anger on Faye's fayece. It was kind of amazing to see. Despite that they'd only just really met, this girl was quickly becoming a genuine enemy.
Unfortunately for Sophia, she was quite the formidable enemy at that.
The look on her face was that of a rabid dog, and Sophia had to fight the instinct to turn and run. The thud of Faye's feet on the bench made Sophia jump back just a tiny bit, but she'd never been the bravest, and she wasn't a Gryffindor, so she didn't feel too terribly bad about being startled.
As the girl towered above her - which was the case anyway, so why was she standing on the bench? - Sophia felt a hint of fear at the crazed look in Faye's eyes. There was genuine rage the likes of which the blue-head'd never seen in her life.
"What on earth do you think you're playing at, you fucking dose? Yeah, she sure is something, and that something isn't yours. If only I knew how to blast you into the ground because, god help me, I would! Oh, Slide on, you..."
Sophia felt like she was talking to Isla all over again. What on earth was this girl saying? She was Irish, apparently, but her accent didn't seem as thick before. Her language was harsh - she used an F-word, for goodness sake! - and her voice was that of a harpy screeching after its prey. Thankfully Sophia's robes covered the goosebumps on her arms. It would be embarrassing if anyone saw the effect this... creature was having on her.
"All I was doing was talkin' about Reg! I thought you'd be happy to talk about your friend, you psycho!" she retorted, unaware of the shorter nickname she'd just accidentally used to refer to Regina. She was playing with fire, and she knew it. Then the disgusting beast with the blonde hair decided to cast yet another spell at Sophia, and it landed!
"Periculum!"
Sophia knew how to cast Periculum. It was a simpler spell, after all. However, she'd never been on the receiving end of it. The only comparison she could make as a muggle was that of a camera's flash crank up to about a thousand. She couldn't see a thing, and her vision was readjusting far slower than she wanted it to.
As she blinked in an attempt to alleviate her blindness, she could swear she heard the disgusting ogre of a girl laughing maniacally, but it could have been her imagination.
Enboldened by her anger, Sophia decided that enough was enough and she couldn't afford to hold back any longer. Whether she landed the hit or not, she was going to wipe that stupid smirk off the girl's face! One way or another, she would get revenge on the banshee who'd attacked her for no reason!
She pointed her wand at the blonde troll with shaky hands, but she managed to retain her composure enough to at least *try* to cast the spell.
"Incendio!" Sophia growled in an anger that she was most unaccustomed to. Her technique was almost flawless, her wand all but begging her to release the flame, and she was more than happy to oblige. She wanted to burn the stupid eyebrows off of this doxy of a human being. This... this horrible excuse for a flobberworm!

ใโใโ ใโใโ ใโใโ ใโใโ ใโใEvery morsel of the feast was heaven in Gem's mouth. This was exactly what she needed after such a trying day. She was in a cycle of brevity-- one blissful bite after another, each one warming her from the inside out.
Gem smiled and reached for another pasty. She could feel the stress slipping away like water off of a duck's back--
Splat!
Gem slowly lowered the pasty. There was a mysterious substance trickling down the left side of her face. Curious, she pawed at it, and noticed the stuff was in her hair as well. Her hand came away coated in... mashed potatoes and gravy??
Suddenly, she was back in the Great Hall, half covered in what appeared to be Sophia's dinner. All the previously dispelled irritation hit her like a truck, and she leapt to her feet, searching in vain for an assailant.
Her gaze finally landed on Faye Simmons, whose face bore a sheepish, yet vindictive expression. Gem had nothing against the girl, since she'd been nothing but friendly to her, but something was off. Come to think of it, weren't she and Regina dating? And Sophia had been waxing on and on (and on, and on...) about Regina just moments ago.
Gem whirled around to face the blonde, raring to give her a piece of her mind. How dare she ruin a perfectly good meal? "That was completely uncalled for!" she snarled, just as Sophia shouted,
"Flipendo!"
The jinx hurtled past Faye and smashed into an opposing wall.
Gem was aghast. "What do you think you're doing?" she hissed. But Sophia was too far gone to listen. And so was Faye.
Next thing Gem knew, the blonde was flying at her friend-- wand at the ready, tongue lashing insults, and then Sophia was stumbling under a barrage of blinding red sparks.
"Soph!" Gem cried, reaching out to steady her.
Simmons was insane! Who in their right mind would start a duel out of jealousy? She had already got the girl, hadn't she? What had got her knickers in a knot?
Gem grit her teeth and glared daggers at her deranged housemate. Quickly, she pulled her wand from her pocket, and aimed it at Faye. Every rational nerve in her body was screaming at her to stop, but her anger overweighed any protests in her mind.
Nobody messes with my friends.
Gem took a deep breath and cracked her neck.
"Mucus ad nauseam."
And then she watched, as her curse soared gracefully through the air, swift and true--
Only for it to miss by a hairline of an inch.
"Shit!" Gem shrieked, balling her skirt in her fists. "That was so goddamn close! Why didn't it hit?!" Her casting had been beautiful, and the timing had been just right. This was truly one of the worst days of her life.
But! What was this?
Sophia had recovered enough to cast her own spell. Gem bit her lip in anticipation as the fire surged towards Faye...ใโใโ ใโใโ ใโใโ ใโใโ ใโใ
