Knockturn Alley is/becomes officially available to 7th Years and older (since then you are off age in the wizarding world).

No, I wasn't saying you shouldn't be able to take anyone with you, that's perfectly fine. But it depends on whether or not you know a Parselmouth. Only Parselmouths can open the Chamber of Secrets, at least that's what I thought.

And if what I understand is true, there's a thread somewhere that says "access to Chamber of Secrets becomes available to higher years at an unknown time." Or something along those lines. Which implies that non-Parselmouths can access the Chamber.

But yeah never mind because if only Parselmouths can access it then nothing I said before matters.

Knockturn is available as an adult or 7th year; it can be accessed as early as 5th year with the purchase of the trenchcoat.

The Chamber of Secrets is intended for Parselmouths and their guests only. The core site coding had it so that 7th years can access the chamber however I removed that access. Technically adults (which are 100% staff and used for staff purposes) can access the chamber but it is not for roleplay but for the administration of their duties. When we have player-adults, those accesses will need to be updated but previous attempts to change adult accesses did not work out in the way we wanted but I have another 2 years to figure it out and have a few other ideas. There are ways to prevent posting on a non-staff level.

suggestion: for metamorphagus to have access to knockturn from their third year ability. the cloak makes one look older, but metamorphs can do that already.

But that’s not quite fair for everyone else though, we have to wait five years just to get a cloak to see knockturn while metamorphs wait three?

Why not make part of their fifth, assuming that it will be made part of the ability at all?
The Trenchcoat works 5th year minimum. Metamorphs should be the same. 3rd year (the ability to look like other students or adults if interfaced with then enough) implies to me that there is still mastery required to take the form consistently. Maybe there is something slightly off about their disguise when they do it when they are young as opposed to older.

If it were made part of a 5th year ability, at least then there is no year inequality with the rest of the school, and the metamorphs can save a little money (like goblins can earn extra daily).

that sound like a great idea, thanks for the input :3 again, my suggestion was just a suggestion of what can be improved. im not bothered if staff considers it at all, im not a metamorph after all.

I like that idea about metamorphs being able to access Knockturn Alley during their 5th year! It's still good for them since everyone else will have to buy the cloak to access it. But metamorphs don't need to buy the cloak as they 'get it for free' due to their ability but they still access it at the same time as everyone else. It's just everyone else needs to spend money and metamorphs don't.

Plus that way it's fair for access and also makes sense with ability.
